But again, it's not a competition. final segment before we handed it over to the big guy Adam Keraker will come in and take you until 1 o'clock
Starting point is 00:00:37 then Bach in the black shirt and then we're over at Liquid Assets from 3 to 6 for the Legends Foundation day that is going to be a great Frank Solitz will be in the building J. Foreman, Nick Sainer will man the board most of the ticket staff will be there tons of Husker alumni will be there
Starting point is 00:00:53 find your way over to Liquid Assets before you head over to Devani for a Oscar volleyball at somewhere between 630 and 7. We're not sure, depending on the previous game, but it's a big deal. Coach, it's a big weekend in Lincoln Sports and Husker sports. Wrestling's back at it, basketball, both basketball programs are currently sitting undefeated.
Starting point is 00:01:18 Does that reach the baseball program, that energy? Does it reach when things are going well for winter program? Yeah, I see, I see Coach Hoiberg almost, you know, every day, if not every other over the training table and we can sit and talk shop for a minute while we're you know getting getting our food getting some lunch and uh you know coach manning actually uh we we go to church together and he he sits uh he sits in front of me a church so we get to dapp up every sunday and recap the week and and uh you talk about bringing the juice oh every day it's just like it's like transferring energy if you shake the guy's hand or you're
Starting point is 00:01:53 like you're ready to ready to go one to twin powers man he's he's that guy he's that guy I would imagine that bowl games and the extra juice, the extra days of practice, how important is that to a program to have 20 additional days of practice? Yeah, it's big. We actually are kind of dabbling in that ourselves. So they've kind of opened up the calendar for us. Used to, like when we get back in the spring, you could start practice three weeks before your first game. And now they've opened up that a little bit.
Starting point is 00:02:28 we used to do like two weeks or so, maybe of skill instruction, just small group stuff, short, you know, 45 minutes, maybe an hour in a team session, something like that leading up to team practice. And we were able to get the guys back in like early January to do that. And now we can, we can get just hit the ground running as soon as we get back. So kind of similar to the extra bowl practice at which for a football team and a football coaching staff is enormous, like 20. 20 extra practices like that's that's huge you know and leading into you know then you still
Starting point is 00:03:04 got spraying with early from a development standpoint it's it's big and that's that gets overlooked I think sometimes if you have a few you know tough years and you don't get those practices that is that's enormous that compounding interest of development and stuff it starts to add up and but just speaking you know for us having that we're able to go full team practice and start our 20 hour practice weeks as soon as we get back for the spring is huge so we get like a full month now a little little over a month until we open up or we'll be we'll be rocking and rolling it makes all the sense of the world i want to propose before we got about two minutes i want to ask this question we're talking about it during the break that the financial responsibility and
Starting point is 00:03:48 accountability the difference between a high school senior who commits to play baseball at the University of Nebraska versus a transfer portal player coming to the University of Nebraska. Same budget. Which one do you get the most out of? The most out of in terms of value bang for the buck. Oh. Hmm. Good question.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Hey, what's up y'all? Kelly Clarkson with Wayfair. My favorite thing about the holidays decking out my whole house. It's not a competition, but if it was, well, I'd win the season with Wayfair. Outdoor inflatable Santa, got it on Wayfair. Trees, lights, and ornaments, Wayfair. Hosting must-havs like dining sets, beds, sheets, and towels, Wayfair.
Starting point is 00:04:30 For everything in your style delivered with fast and free shipping, visit Wayfair.com or the Wayfair app to win the season. But again, it's not a competition. Wayfair, every style, every home. I would say from a financial standpoint, maybe just as far as like the money stretching further, if that's kind of the point of the question is is going to be the older guy just because it's really it's a very simple answer and it's not it's not real it's not real sexy but freshmen have to live on campus and it's more expensive to live on campus and it is off campus so that's that's about the the math and the economics of the whole thing right there
Starting point is 00:05:07 responsibility right yeah it's going to can't drive yeah like there's all sorts of things that have to take place and part of the part of living on campus they have to buy a meal plan it's just part of the housing contract, even though they don't need it because they eat at the athletic training table, but they have to get it, and it's probably a $6,000 difference. I just needed it just needed to be said.
Starting point is 00:05:30 They just need to be said. That question has been burning a, just burning a hole in you. I need the answer here. Well, I mean, no, because it really is the thing. Like, you have to ask. Yeah. Like, one thing, again,
Starting point is 00:05:41 I don't have to have all the answers. I just try to get to the right question. And that's why we do this all day. for 18 hours a day. Coach, I appreciate you so much for coming in and educating our listeners. I appreciate it. Yeah, love coming in. Thanks for having me.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Appreciate you, bro. Don't go anywhere. Adam Caricker, the big guy will shake the walls. He will rattle the planet when he comes in to 93-7. The ticket.
