Harrison, Arns, what, there seems to be a happening, a movement taking place here at 11th and O Street. Yeah, it might be because you got a couple volleyball superstars. Bergen, Riley. And then we also got Nate Wilson video coordinator, administrator joining the group as well. It's pretty incredible. They've got cupcakes with the numbers on them, the players numbers on them. Yeah, they're down, they're sitting down there. They're giving them away too. We had like shows this morning. I mean, inside part and just a wonderful thing, but a lot of this together.

Oh, man. They got some goody, goody bags out there. Yeah, they got some goody bags. And again, we have some great listeners and great friends who heard the comment of like a tip jar for the athletes. And it's active. We had Rudy create a bag and put a sign on it. For folks that just want to donate, say thank you to the young ladies directly. It's a thing that I don't need people to donate to the ticket.

You can if you want, but the reality is knowing that you make a donation and it goes straight to Andy and Bergen. It's incredible. Not only making donations to the young ladies at the mill. these shows that we do, and it's another thing, it's, we do the things that we can do in the space that we're in. And the more I'm in the space, the more I care about the space,

and the more I know that there's more good out there. Like, we will get flooded with car wrecks and crashes and crimes and all that. The bad news will find you. The good news, we should, We should yell louder about the good news and the good people doing good things. And that's why I said you had every permission and right to shout out a nonprofit or business, your business. If it's your business, you want to shout it out. It could be your favorite eatery.

It could be, you know, it's a thing. You could do it. I'll read this text because it's there three or four years ago. You were at a remote at Beatrice Bakery. I got there at the very end and you were giving everyone a thank you. you pep talk. But it was more than that. You were truly helping them through your words. You either cared about what you're saying or you're a great actor. I got a Kremlin cake and was talking to an employee there and she said something very close to. I've worked here for 20 plus

years and this is the best day ever. You did that. You make a difference. Granny is proud. Thank you. Thank you. That you took the time to write that, share that. say that. That was a great day. And shout out. I mean, the folks from the Rotary and the Sunrise Optimus and the folks who out invite me out, the futures inviting me out, I'll be out there next week.

And these speaking engagements, here's the thing, the funny thing. I've probably done 60 or 70 speaking engagements and since I've been here in Nebraska. Probably more than it. Probably close to 100. I've never given the same speech. Not once. There are some constants,

but I've never given the same talk. Ever. I'll say the three things I say the most because that's consistent. I say thank you, love you, well done. I say that often and on purpose. But depending on the group and what their message and message

mission is, I'm able to tell those stories. Because quite frankly, if they're loving on people, I've got a love story. And that's how you know, you're living in a good town, a good community, amongst good people, is that people talk about the things they love. The ticket radio, Lincoln Sports Talk, is Lincoln the community of Lincoln talking about the things that they love

and telling why they love them. You don't have to ask an alumni of Lincoln High where they went to school. They loved Lincoln High, and they can't wait to tell you. I was just at Lincoln North Star, a group of eight kids standing around the table, sharing why they love their high school.

And they were shouting out Mandy Monson's daughter who plays volleyball for them. That's pretty good. Right, right. They were saying, yeah, there's a meet. There's a match at home tonight. She's really good. She's a dog, right?

To listen to the folks from Sunrise Optimus, talk about their mission, The folks from, you know, big brother, big sister. Literally, this is the thing. And I said, I signed up right away. Right away to be a part of it. Again, today was my teammates today. And knowing that these people are here and exist in this space,

again, there are people who are struggling, man. And there are people who are angry and bitter and quite simply nasty. But communities are held together by the people. people who aren't. I'm looking outside the window. There's a sign for tonight's event. And on it is Andy Jackson and Bergen Riley, and the insight people have put together this campaign, and it says better

together. That's literally what we've been talking about for two hours. And Lincoln is better together. Sports is better together when you're being thoughtful and considerate or somebody else. No matter what kind of day you're having, be kind, be considered. Be there for somebody else. Be there for your people. Be there for yourself. Be there for your community. Do that. But that's a great looking posters. It's a full stand-up. Yeah, better together. That would be a wonderful mantra for Lincoln. Better together. I think our people practice it pretty well.

More often than not. I haven't left the studio. Here's what I say about our text line, and I say we have the best listeners. I wouldn't trade our listeners for anybody else. For no other fan base in the country, I just wouldn't do it. But they're the pulse of Lincoln, and they tell us, they're the pulse of Husker Nation. All we have to do is ask how you doing. And if, I can tell you, if the majority of the text ends up,

upset, there's a problem and we need to fix it. We need to know. And if they're celebrating and if they're all in a good mood, hey man, something really good is happening and let's, let's, let's, let's tell the world. So again, in that space, I'll say thank you, love you, well done. And again, you've got four minutes that to shout out nonprofits. I'll shout out the lighthouse. I'll beat people to it, but put them in there. Lighthouse is great. Have a school program. Kids need something to do. Lighthouse. It's like really good care of you.

Both the missioners. They make homemade meals. We need a bite to eat. Catch you covered. Big deal. Not everyone always gets that. A nice, warm meal. It's your birthday.

I know Michelle, Mishner, she'll make the kids their own homemade birthday cake. Not just buying it. I mean, that's an example of, why I like, thank you so much.

I guess just two fantastic people. And their staff's incredible, too. Jim Blue and the folks from Cedars. Mm-hmm. being there for people who really need, who are vulnerable and need, and then to treat them the dignity and respect. Matt Talbot, kitchen and outreach, providing meals and kits and direction, guidance, counseling.

Balone Center? Boulone Center for. John Goodwin, great guy. Yep. The long work, the YWCA, being there for people in need, just constantly being aware of the folks from linked to literacy. again the whole dolly patent part library and the tributes and then wordstock and just putting books which is love in the houses in the homes of these young people and the hands in the homes of these young people

and it works just trying to do good things because that thing is blown up wordstock this year is huge huge i don't when it first started this is this is the thing man to go through and just say how many good people are here. I mean, we've got a new restaurant show. Just to be able to shout out. I mean, listen, Bravo, Thursday night, 6 o'clock, tune in. Tune in Saturday afternoon, Chubbs and his old casino and let him introduce you to some of the lesser known restaurants and chefs and cooks in the area. Right. And people wonder, well, why do you do that? Because people need to know that there are people out here cooking for them. And it may not, They may not have the big marketing campaigns and they may not have the big marketing dollars.

It doesn't mean that, listen, we found out our dude back out here cooking again. Yeah, if you want your barbecue, they're back. Let's go. They're back. And he go, where are you been, bro? Come on, let me make a play for you. Tell me where you are. Tell me where you are.

I got to say that again, like make sure all those areas under construction, those mom, pa, shops, stores, stores find mary ellens bro yeah go shop with those local spots especially those places on construction right now because it's uh stuff for him obviously it has to be done but they they could still use business up and down oh street uh leadership lincoln as disc golf jake says helping connect lincolnites and providing the space to create change through learning and understanding right collective groups uh keenan eats reached out to me uh this morning and we'll we'll do something together do something together. I mean, he's out there putting out the word for great food, great, great people, great spaces in the area. And it's necessary. So Canaan appreciates you reaching out,

bro. That's what it is. And here's my thing. Lincoln businesses need to be here for Lincoln businesses. And let me go ahead and throw a punch. The beauty of what we do here, take it is that we're about Lincoln and about Nebraska. You spend money here, staying here. We live here. So maybe we didn't hire a contractor out to Texas to renovate our building. Sir, we ain't do none of that. We're not hiring marketers in Nashville. No, we don't have somebody outside of Nebraska telling,

telling Husker fans what they should be listening to or not listening to. Which is a great thing. Giving you actual value for your dollars here in Lincoln, here in Nebraska. We can't talk about it. I don't send your money to Chicago. I don't send your money to Dallas. I don't send your money to New York. I don't send your money to Detroit.

I pay people here in Lincoln, Nebraska. We partner with people here in Lincoln, Nebraska. I don't know how many other places like the ticket exists, and I certainly don't know how many media places operate currently under those conditions. Now, somebody tell him Lincoln. Lincoln tells us what to talk about and what to cover. Lincoln tells us who's interesting. Lincoln tells us who's doing good business and who's not.
