Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, what's up y'all? Kelly Clarkson with Wayfair. My favorite thing about the holidays? Decking out my whole house. It's not a competition, but if it was, well, I'd win the season with Wayfair. Outdoor inflatable Santa? Got it on Wayfair. Trees, lights and ornaments? Wayfair. Hosting must-havs, like dining sets, beds, sheets, and towels. Wayfair. For everything in your style delivered with fast and free shipping, visit Wayfair.com or the Wayfair app to win the season. But again, it's not a competition. Back to old school with Foreman and Orman on 93.7, The Ticket, and The Ticketfm.com. State of the unit. State of affairs. Kipp says this.
Starting point is 00:00:47 The last time we had seven wins, there wasn't NIO or roster limits or transfer. There was always the ability to transfer. NIL. Okay. Let's be clear. this. Nothing that is happening in NIL was created strictly because of NIL.
Starting point is 00:01:08 Bagman have existed. You can go back to the days of trains and games by old trains. Cross country on trains. Bagman existed. They existed. They existed for Sammy Ball, for Jim Thorpe. The bagman existed.
Starting point is 00:01:28 They always have. university once it became competitive there was always money involved well and they still exist even with nil today with n iL they would tell you that okay the the the number is 22 20 to 25 and a half million but there are people immediately tell you oh that's good for you the 10 million under the table that's good for you what is that what y'all are doing cool cool we're trying to win a chip and they'll tell you as simply as they can tell you that limit is for y'all that ain't for that is for the night for me yeah also i mean all's that happened now with that limit is the back the bagman has to go back to being private the one year you could be totally private anymore 1890 doesn't
Starting point is 00:02:09 exist it goes in-house now it's buck wild now uh-huh like when they say it's the wild west you you gave the criminals guns man well that's what the college football commit what was it called the nil commissioner was supposed to be it was supposed to be the sheriffs to keep the bagman in line want to know, I don't know what coaches are talking. I don't know what these guys get. I don't know what kind of money they're getting. What's the movie, Blue Chips? Nick, Nick Nolte.
Starting point is 00:02:38 Oh, Christ. I don't know what these guys get. I don't know what kind of money. I'm a basketball coach. That's exactly what you'd say, too. I don't know
Starting point is 00:02:54 what Boudreau is. I don't know what Boudrevers getting. Well, they had Narcline. Like you're supposed to report on it yourself. But then there's Al Bundy in the front row raised his hand. Coach, come on. Tell me the truth. Listen to that. I don't have to take that crap for you. It's always existed. It's going just the best that that never was, Marcus Dupree. Go back and watch that. Go back and watch the Pony Express and had Dickerson and Craig James tell you the stories of new tractors and bags, literally duffel bags full of cash,
Starting point is 00:03:35 new cars with the keys sitting in the lot, right? So whatever conversations people are having with you or about NIL, let's be clear. These were pat, this is not untended road. These are not dirt roads, bro. These roads have already existed. Well, I think that's why a lot of people are freaking out over college football. It's like we used to not know how the hot dog was made. Well, you want to be naive.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Okay, naivete has its place, but quite frankly, I'm a grown-up. I'd rather know. I'd rather know. And again, this is probably why I've aged more while being in Lincoln than I had the previous, you know, 15 years, is because proximity, you know more. And in a small town, there are fewer secrets. Like in a big city, there's distraction. There's a hundred things going on.
Starting point is 00:04:24 In D.C., I've got Maryland, Georgetown, George Mason. Virginia, VCU, Old Dominion, I've got commanders, capitals, nationals, I've got a full range of things. You know, if I go to Baltimore, I've got to add 14 other programs that I have to pay attention to. Oh, by the way, the government's there. So there's tons of that. There's national government, international government,
Starting point is 00:04:45 local government. All that's in play. And all the high school sometimes. Right. Then all the other stuff. And then, oh, oh, you all were doing dirt over here. Oh, okay, cool. so the state of affairs is business is this literally i was having this conversation with somebody on
Starting point is 00:05:01 on on on on social media and said you know they're called folks premonious uh and the state of you know everybody spoiled well who did it who's in charge who built it all the parents pointing at the kids talking about well these these these terrible kids these days who's raised who raised these these these self-eased these these selfish Brats. Who did this? Oh, crap. That's my son. Well, how'd he learn that? Oh, at home, in the living room, at the dinner table, right? All things learn, either taught or allowed. And so we have to begin to say, we can either accept it or we can demand change. Most people aren't going to demand change. They're just not. They're too busy trying to make it work.
Starting point is 00:05:54 So that's kind of what it is. Pretty simple deal. August says, hey guys, what's up? Let's go with the New England Patriots to the Rams. Hey, what's up, y'all? Kelly Clarkson with Wayfair. My favorite thing about the holidays, decking out my whole house. It's not a competition, but if it was, well, I'd win the season with Wayfair.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Outdoor inflatable Santa, got it on Wayfair. Trees, lights, and ornaments. Wayfair. Hosting must-haves like dining sets, beds, sheets, and towels, Wayfair. For everything in your style delivered with fast and free shipping, visit Wayfair.com or the Wayfair app
Starting point is 00:06:31 to win the season. But again, it's not a competition. Wayfair, every style, every home. That wasn't a terrible Super Bowl? No, I watched that one. Patriots, I've never. No, they've already played this one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:45 They've already played this. It's a pretty good one. I don't have. And then I'm also at the point where I don't care who plays the Super Bowl. I just want to see a few teams. in there. Well,
Starting point is 00:06:55 you top the list. Like your rival. Well, no, like Packers and then Cowboys and then NFC, any other NFC North team. So Vikings lines. So you would rather have the Cowboys get in
Starting point is 00:07:10 rather than the Vikings or the Packers or the lines? Packers, I would rather have the I'd probably have the Cowboys in over the Packers. I don't have the inter-divisional hate. I, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:24 You know, they did it to us. I mean, the Cowboys are stayed alone. I thought your conference had a lot of. No, I'm not mad at the Eagles being really good and being the reigning defending Super Bowl champions. I don't mind. I don't mind the Giants. I don't like their fans, but that's a whole different.
Starting point is 00:07:41 That's a personal thing. That's a personal thing. But I'm also not holding it against them where you're born. Like, no, that's silly. That's silly. if you're wearing the star you're making a statement about yourself right
Starting point is 00:07:59 you're making really like the Giants it's the NY's on the helmet like I get okay like I get it it's New York it's a thing Philly Eagles fans tend to be from Philadelphia
Starting point is 00:08:19 or from the area you find them in Delaware. Delaware, some in Maryland. Okay, fine. Dallas? Bro, you live in Vegas. What are you doing? You live in Norfolk, Virginia.
Starting point is 00:08:34 What do you? Who hurt you? You live in Lincoln, Nebraska. Stop it. Stop it now. Speaking of, Pete Ferguson on to 5 o'clock today. Yeah, I know. That's where you go.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Who hurt you? Pat's versus Bucks. I don't think the Bucks have everything. Baker Mayfield's incredible early on, but they were kind of relying on incredible game-winning drives from him early. I'm not willing to concede the Pats with Drake May in the two.
Starting point is 00:09:14 No. No. No. There are too many other good quarterbacks that would make plays that I would count on before Drake May. But Drake May could be second year, Tom Brady. I don't know. Don't know. Well, there's no giant.
Starting point is 00:09:29 The only thing is, like, it just doesn't feel like they'll be a giant. They're going to have to get, they'll be good teams, better quarterbacks. Yeah. Corvacks with better bodies at work, but don't know. Don't scare me. Don't know. But not Horberg says, he sends a picture. Can you share that on the stream?
Starting point is 00:09:46 A rare, a rare photo of a current cowboy cheerleader and two from their last Super Bowl team. Nana Nana what are you doing Nana I'll keep it up there just as long as it's just until Pete can see it 100% that we're just going to hold that there
Starting point is 00:10:05 it's a thing so I mean in the state of of affair for Nebraska I think that in the great question of where they stand and how we feel about it because we have so many questions There are so many questions. What absolute can we talk about
Starting point is 00:10:26 when it comes to Nebraska football? What's an absolute? There's not a group that's an absolute. There's not a player who's an absolute fan base. That's the only absolute. That's the absolute. The Husker Nation is going to be Husker Nation. And everything else is the question of it.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Literally. And I'm not saying Matt rules responsible for this, but there's been coaches prior that have kind of rode on that. He's not responsible for it. No. He's just unfortunately the person in charge. And listen, for nine million a year, I'll take some of the heat. But there's been coaches that have rode on the fans being, always being there.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Right. I don't know why anybody would be mad. Like, I don't know why anybody would be mad about people winning titles in the night. Why aren't you talking about the 90s? Because it was really cool times. You won titles. Yeah, I never understand. Like what, why not use that as a reference point?
Starting point is 00:11:21 Hey, those are haters. Those are haters. If you're hating on national championships, you're a hater. Like, you're a hater, chill. I dare we look at our best team in program history and arguably college football history and try to use that as a navigator.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Yeah, why go somewhere good? Just stay in the dark. It's one of the more bizarre things I do here. Yeah, I'm tired of the 90s. Why? No, you're not. You're tired of... You wouldn't be here without the 90s.
Starting point is 00:11:51 Yeah, you would have none of the nice things that you have in full. So we'll go to break. Final segment before we handed over to Pete Ferguson. Weekly Disrupt. He's got a wonderful group of folks. We'll see what Pete's going to do and he'll probably... He'll probably pout a little bit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:07 He'll pout. Pete will pout. Pouting Pete. Pouting Pete. That's what's going to happen here in the next 15 minutes.
