Final segment before we handed over to the big guy,
Bill and Bennett says, yeah,
Bach wouldn't have said that in front of Eric Strickland.
You need to reintroduce yourself to Bob.
Bach has a new level of confidence.
He thinks he's like, man, you know, there's that.
I want to point out, it's 25 shots in this three-point shooting cup.
It doesn't matter if Steph Curry's on.
I'd still get 25 shots.
Nobody's going to.
It's the same.
It's the same thing for me.
It's 25 shots.
It's 25 shots.
It's all I'm saying.
Just it'll be interesting.
Are you making 20 bucks?
Yeah.
I don't know about that.
But I'll all aim for.
I like it.
He said 20.
20.
20.
That's a lot.
He said 20.
Sir.
He said 20.
You got to hit the money balls.
He said 20.
Coach, what is the most important shot in tennis?
Yeah, I think that's the thing that's up for debate,
and I think it's constantly changing.
But I think for college tennis,
the serve is probably still the most important shot.
I think once you get to the highest, highest levels,
then I think the return of serve actually becomes the most important,
the important shot.
So I think for us and what we're doing,
I think the serve and the forehand are probably the two most important shots.
And I think the return is probably the third most important shot.
And I think it might be reversed for the highest, highest, highest levels of tennis.
But I think it also depends on the type of player you are.
You know, for me, being 6, 7, the serve was for sure my most important shots.
And the return was, I just wasn't great at it.
But looking back, if that was near I could have been better at,
I think I maybe was at a higher ceiling in tennis.
But tennis is tough, man, because you have to be able to do everything.
I think tennis is a tribute to being a true athlete.
You have to be so well-rounded now.
You know, 15, 20 years ago, you could have, you know, you could have been me
in just to serve in a forehand, but now you have to be able to do it all,
which I think is truly remarkable about our sport.
You have to be fit.
you have to be able to play for four or five hours you have to do it for two weeks to win a grand slam
travel around the world uh different surfaces different different environments different food
different climates you know against you know against an opponent that's trying to do everything
they can to beat you i think tennis is tennis is just remarkably tough and and uh that's why i
encourage people to come and watch you know the the guys here they do a great job and
You know, all of our guys are after the same thing.
They're trying to be the very best they can be.
Give us the co-belt list of strokes, right?
So most important, most vital to winning at the college level.
Serve, forehand, return a serve, and then you got,
then the other ones that kind of drops off after that, having a good backhand,
the volleys are important in college tennis too because you play a lot of doubles.
So maybe I put the volleys ahead of the backhand and then I put the backhand.
So those are more or less your main shots there.
We have 60 seconds to define a serve and to say that there are different types of serve.
How would you describe the differences?
The serve, you're trying to, it's like offense in football or basketball.
You're trying to control the game.
So the serve, you're trying to hit a serve that again.
gives you a middle forehand to continue playing offense. So a successful serve can mean a lot of
different things. It can be fast. It can be spinny. It can jump. It can slide away. It can be
into the body. It can be stretching them out wide. But your job is to understand your game and how
you play as a player. And then what kind of serve do I need to hit in order to back up my, to back up my
game. So it's a combination of both. And I think that's why tennis is so, it's so beautiful in an
amazing game to play because you really have to have a great understanding of what you do and
how you need to do it. And there's so many ways, man. There's so many ways. There's so many ways.
There's so many ways in the higher the level, the more complicated it become.
Absolutely. Coach, again, once again, proud of the work that you do with these young people,
these young people are in good hands. It's good to know that there are coaches out there doing the good
work. Number 40 in the country and with a bullet, as they say. Well, we're doing good. We're not doing as
good as buck. Hey, 20 out of 20. 20 out of 25. He said 20 out 20. I'll take that over being 40.
Yeah. We're we're we're this competition has to happen. Thank you guys. Sir. Don't go anywhere.
Adam Carrecker up next year. 93 seven. The ticket.
