Final segment before we hand it over to Bach and the Blackshirts,
we did get a notice that they've announced a game for London in 2026.
Kansas and Arizona State are in discussions about playing over at London to Wembley Stadium in 2026.
Tendatively scheduled for September 19, so it will not be the opener opener,
but tentatively scheduled.
I don't know what
London did to us.
Nobody else was available?
Doesn't seem like the sort of crowds
that will necessarily follow to London.
Right?
But they know what they're doing.
They know what they're doing.
Y'all go ahead.
Again, just a reminder that tomorrow
down in the haymarket, it is a big, big, big event.
And the launching of basketball season is important.
At the haymarket, they've done a pretty good job of setting this thing up.
But I wanted to ask you, Bach, do you get hyped about these events, opening night?
Is that?
I traditionally haven't gotten too high. I mean, back in the day, I used to go to them.
Sometimes they would do like the late, you know, the late night jamboree.
Midnight, Midnight Madness. Those are the ones that I kind of went to.
Then they'd have the, you know, over the years, they'd have different musical guests and stuff.
So I've been to a few of them. I don't make it a yearly thing, but I hope most of the basketball
fans do. I mean, it's an exciting way to get things going.
And so it's not necessarily something that I make move time out of to do.
But I think it's partly because basketball has always had the problem.
There's football season going on.
Yeah, the story is this tip off of the 2020, 2025, 2025, 2026 season, Friday night, opening night, presented by Shields over the rail yard.
It's interactive, fan friendly, canopy street between R and Q.
So you're going to head to, you're going to stop by Canterbury Street Market.
Dan, buy some stuff, head over to the event.
The event starts at 630, includes both the Husker
Men's and Women's Basketball Program, and is free to the public.
Now, both teams will sign autographs after the event.
But here are the story that, again, you'll introduce both teams,
get remarks from Fred Hoyberg and Amy Williams and some of the Husker players.
There'll be a three-point shooting contest for both programs,
along with contests for players and fans, and much more.
Again, most, they say the teams will sign autographs after the event,
and a special edition opening night poster will be mail-avail available for fans and attendance.
So you're going to walk away with something, especially if you can get to the Husker Man,
return seven letter winners from the team that went 21 to 14 last year and won the Basketball Crown,
the reigning defending basketball, college basketball crown champions, the Husker basketball program.
The roster is highlighted by some returning players.
Of course, Bear Kay and Sam returning.
Those are starters of the returning kind of a siegeon,
who average 10.7 off the bench,
plus the return of Jamarcus Lawrence and Rink Mask.
Of course, Rink Mask, who led his last version of Husker basketball
that he played on.
He led them in rebounding and assists along with his 12 plus points.
Jamarcus Lawrence, who played in all 34 games when he was a Husker,
including 23 starts in 2023 and 24.
Nebraska reloads with five other transfers and a pair of freshmen who were amongst the nation's top 125 in recruits.
Hustker women coming off of 21 win season as well,
include your second straight trip to the NCAA tournament with Coach Williams.
The Big Red will be led on the court by all Big Ten honorary Brett Prince,
who earned a spot on the conference all freshman team averaging 13 points, four boards and almost four assists.
Natalie Potts, who's
Big Ten, 24 Big Ten freshman
of the year. We'll also be back
with fellow 2024 Big Ten
all freshman selection, Logan Nisley.
Huskers have five newcomers
on the women's side, including a quartet
of Division I transfers.
Again, there's details
for tickets. For tickets, you can call
Go Big Red.
402, 472,
3111. Again,
Friday, Canterbury Street, between
R and Q, beginning
at 6.30. So make plans. Again, take care of yourselves. Have a fantastic Thursday.
Send cards, flowers, cookies to Jake Sorensen. It will not be a fun Thursday night for him.
Jay Foreman will be loud and proud for the Buffalo Bills. Don't go anywhere. The next two hours,
it will be. Bach and the black shirt here on the ticket. Peace.
