In a time where, I mean, they had some dudes. I mean, you're talking about Ron McDowell, John Dutton. You had some forces come through Nebraska. And people, you know, you have that timeline bias that you would think that, you know, a 230 pound defensive end,

you know, Ron McDowell couldn't be as good as the 290 pound, you know, defensive end. They're just different. They're just different. And it's okay to say. But taggy was spectacular. Jeff Kenny. Jeff Kenny. those titles

those years don't happen without Jeff Kenny. Jeff Kenny was spectacular. I mean, that's one of my, when I think, see, this is what's interesting. When I think of Nebraska football, that's the era I go back to of the torn mesh jersey. The torn midriff where Taggy and Kenny

are just running the ball so hard and they're being grabbed at and pulled that and tugged at to the point where the number doesn't show anymore, the name of the back doesn't show anymore, and it's hanging on by a threat. The jersey's just barely hanging on, and then finally some official would tap them and say, go get another jersey.

That's the Husker football that I remember. Even the Johnny Rogers, the way his jersey flapped when he ran, like you would think that, oh, this is really a thing. I mean, I liked that the offensive explosion wore the midriff. Ricky Simmons lapsed about it all the time. But that's another thing. I mean, think about it.

Ricky Simmons was a pro. And here, he was a blocker. He was a blocker. And I'm not sure there's any other era where Ricky Simmons isn't 1A, where he's not the receiver. But that's how good they were. And that's part of the joy of looking back and going back. And again, I love the fact that that,

you can go back in history and find out more about it. I'm a fan of the 70s Huskers. Like I just, the way they played, when you go back for grins and giggles, your next opportunity, go back, go to YouTube and pull up a 1971, 1972 Husker football game. And just look at the sizes and heights

and you go, oh, oh, you had 240 pound offensive line. Yeah. But that was, that's what it was back then. So anyway, it's a full day. It looks like the clouds are parting and the sun is trying to find its way through. So if you're coming to downtown, you're coming to Haymarket, come on through.
