Starting point is 00:00:00 It's so funny. This is, this is, this is, uh, trying to identify, uh, that I, I was not plug it. Come on and get in here. And he's got, he's got the McKinney's club. Oh, now we need to introduce you, uh, to coach Peter Cobalt from Husker tennis. Okay. Because that's the next, that's the next relationship. We need to, we need to care.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Yeah, we need to get that one done. So introduce yourself and let the folks know who you are. come on you're a pro with this now i have some problems here today i know i love i love watching chinese irish pub and two patina's can'tina okay and coach peter cobalt husker tennis uh sitting next to you what would you bring today would you what's what's the flavor you guys Memphis tacos so it's a beeper skit with barbecue sauce um a little bit of some um like so a fresh onion like crisp on it So I think that's always been a popular one of the hundred great you guys like. We always love it, but none of us have to play three sets.
Starting point is 00:01:11 So we're going to try to have to figure out how, what can you make for Coach Cobalt and his his husk? Anything. Coach, what's in the range from tipsy-teeth. It can be from the pub as well because they, first of all, you may have the best french fries and all of them. Oh, I love our spiral fries. And then our corned beef is probably the best. We sold boil it for about eight hours and we shred it. Make it with brown sugar, white sugar, red and white onions,
Starting point is 00:01:44 and a couple pictures of giddens. Sounds good to me. Well, we get the coaches covered. Now we got to come up with something for the athletes that fits. For the protein, whatever most popular item is that McInney is our bangers and mash. So this is an Irish-style sausage. and it's very, very good. So I think that would be the way.
Starting point is 00:02:06 It's just we'll have them come to. What they've done for us with other programs is they will make meals, like a meal for each athlete or they would just bring a buffet style and let your people kind of pick and choose. All right. But you would have to sit in line. I know you, coach, I can see your mental process. I just want to make sure we're cutting all our eyes and crossing the first. Well, it's, here's the talk to Coach Man.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Talk to coach Klempa and talk to coach Usman Kelly because they've all been a part of the process. All right. Sounds good. Well, yeah. If it all checks out, the guys would really appreciate that. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:46 I'll get you in touch me. I've got a question for you, though. Good point. How many $1 bills are inside of McKinney's? We're probably around about $5,000 right now. 5,000. That's the emergency backup plan. So it's kind of funny.
Starting point is 00:02:58 A lot of the fraternies and sororians when they're rushing kids, they will have them go down to the canyons and count them all. And about every fall, I could have about five to six different numbers. Really? So I don't know if they'll count them correctly. So because like the fraternities have called me and be like, well,
Starting point is 00:03:13 how much is they're like, I don't know, man. But everyone's getting different numbers. But yeah, it started out, the first night we were open, first getting a set of be sold,
Starting point is 00:03:23 a guy signed it. I put a $5 bill up on the wall for two to three years. That was the only dollar bill. Really? And then it just slowly took off and then went nuts. And then about three, four years ago, we got broken to. And all the dollar bills got sold on off the wall. Wow.
Starting point is 00:03:42 And all of them. A majority of them. Wow. Terrible. Yeah. We had an alarm system and everything. But the way he broke in, he kind of knew what he was doing. He broke and threw one of our small, tiny windows and crawled through it.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Sure. But we ended up catching him. Nice. He decided to go to Hubbard Freight and try to buy $1,000 of the tools and $1 bills with stuff brought on it. So you got caught and got a lot of dollar bills back, so that was pretty sweet. Nice. Nice. Well, yeah, every time I walk by, I'm like, man, it looks like there's more and more every time.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Yeah, no, I trust me. There's numerous times I've thought about taking them down, but people make memories. I mean, I don't know how many dollar bills. Like people have, like, first dates and they'll write their name and, you know, paste it up there. There's the family members that passed away, and their dollar bills up there, and our kids will come and look at it and stuff like that. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Do we have any Husker bucks up there signed by the Husker athlete? Yeah, I think some other guys, like last year when they were in 2014, was down, and I think they signed a bunch of them up there. See, coach, there might be the move. There might be the move. And we still need to get the tennis training card. Sure.
Starting point is 00:04:56 That needs to be. that it could be a thing that we can do. Maybe we'd have McKinney's actually kind of lead the charge for getting those things done. Thinking about the dollar bill is, I think, North Turner. Norval is up in the building? Hey, it was for a coach's clinic a few years ago. Okay. Well, you know, coach is right here.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Coaches right here. Look at, you tell, this is how comfortable he is at home. You got to lean in. You got to lean in. We got to lean in. I miss trying to prepare myself for tonight because we've got the Marin 5 concert in the Haymarket. That's right. We got the yellow card concert on Friday.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Of course, Saturday we had the football game. We're closing down to parking spots in front of McKinney's and doing an extended beer garden. So it's kind of kind of mentally prepare myself. So you don't get time off either. No. It's also a holiday week or Halloween. Halloween, yeah. So I know.
Starting point is 00:05:45 I'm kind of, I'm a big yellow card fan, but got three daughters. I don't think I can skip out on Halloween. Sure. Tritting. Yeah, it would be, yeah, it would be a third. take my wife would be happy no no we'll work that thing out here's here's the between the two two outlets um how much of that for you is is event based versus normal traffic your regular customer clientele i would say when it comes to the weekends we're always busy of course because everyone's going down there
Starting point is 00:06:22 but the event clientele helps out a lot during because if there's not a lot going on during week for not it is a event area um with the new hotels that they put up the new apartment buildings you're starting to see more regulars now especially a lot more of the college kids or young professionals are living down in that area so you're starting to see a little bit more of that um the problem is with pinnacle bank and i'm i getting trouble for saying this but they have a tendency to over schedule too many things in a one-week span like for example you had four country concerts just in September. You're a country music fan.
Starting point is 00:07:03 You're not going to be able to go before. You're going to pick one. And you need to spread them out more. I know what they're trying to do. But I don't know. Basketball season is always great. We love basketball season, especially like when you have a Monday, Tuesday night, which is normally slow and you have a basketball game that works out
Starting point is 00:07:17 great. Is there a difference between, say, the men's hoops and the women's hoops, or is it pretty consistent? The women's the last couple years has grown in quite a bit. Yeah. It used to be pretty slow. But the last couple years, I think more of the promotions they've been doing with tickets and stuff like that, we're starting to see a lot more of the crowd, especially with baseball the last few years. We've seen a lot bigger crowd with people coming down to the hair market.
Starting point is 00:07:42 So give the elevator pitch for both facilities, for McKinney's. What's the elevator for folks who have not found their way? I guess, okay, I'm sorry, what? Your elevator pitch for who the restaurant is. Oh, so who we market to you? Yeah. Oh, yeah. So, the cany is, we open up every day at 11 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:08:01 We surf a hotel 10 o'clock. I'll kind of say during the day and night, we're kind of more of a middle-aged base. And then probably after about 10 o'clock, we come a little bit more of a college and younger far. We have a lot of traditional Irish dishes like you can't find in town like Shepherd's Pie, Banger's Math, corned beef and cabbage. Our ribbons are very well, are very good. Clam Chatter. we make an Irish stew with lamb. So I didn't I've never eaten there before.
Starting point is 00:08:32 I know. That's why we're allowed to pitch, man. We're hitting a 12 year anniversary next week and still a lot of people don't know we have food. I didn't know you had food. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:42 That happens all the time. Yeah. And then tipsy-tains who who's going and who should go? Well, everyone should go. What's on the menu? What's your, what's your? So we have about 14. 14 street tacos. We have three to four different salad offerings. We've got churros, desserts, fried ice cream.
Starting point is 00:09:04 We do everything ala cart. So when you come to tipsy-tunons, if you just want one taco, just get one taco. We're not making you get a platter or get rice and beans or anything like that. Of course, you can add it. We have over 240 tequila. And actually, today is our five-year anniversary team. Well, congratulations. Yeah. Right? I didn't see I've just been brought around all this. Right. No, it's busy times, but that's kind of the point was to introduce you to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:33 To get you two connected so that I think the programs could help one another. Yeah. They're safe places for your student athletes as well. So it's awesome. Yeah. Yeah. If you ever see our guys running through there when they shouldn't be. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:46 You got to have the relationship. You got to have the relationship. Yeah, we appreciate it. Well, thank you for always taking care of us. thank you for always being a constant. And I can't wait to have lunch today because basically, my wife has put me on a diet of clean food. Yeah, my wife keeps doing it too.
Starting point is 00:10:04 Yeah, it's amazing how that works. It's amazing how it works. It's amazing. I have to go through like McDonald's after you and sit in the driveway and eat my food so she doesn't see me. So if they're going to Maroon 5, if they're going to Maroon 5 and want to get the service, what time should they get there? recommend people get down there as soon as possible. There it. It's a busy night. Coach, you going to the concert? Are you Maroon 5 fan? I wasn't going to the Maroon 5 concert. Is it Friday? It's tonight. It's tonight.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Yellow Cardo is Friday. We have tickets. Kind, sir, if you'd like to go. If you'd like to go, if you and your lady would like to go, we have tickets. My lady might like to go. Okay, so we're going to do that. And then you'll stop by McKinney's or tips. Done. Fair enough. Sounds good. Thank you, kind, sir. It's a pleasure. Great, great stuff. We'll go to break. We'll come back. We'll close out. It sets you all up for Adam Caricker, Bach in the Black shirt, and Old School. It's a full Tuesday here on the ticket.
