Starting point is 00:00:00 Oh, my goodness gracious. The song. I don't know if they've ever done that tennis, to have anybody paint their face before a match. Just take the tennis court just running around. A little ultimate warrior action in Husker Women's tennis might not be a bad. Bad entertainment value. We can start something.
Starting point is 00:00:22 I don't want that. I don't want that phone call. I don't want your ass. You have to wipe the sweat off her face. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Anything that'll get us the edge, you know, I'll do it. It is, it's a, it's a big week for you in the tennis program. Let the folks know what's happening. You've got a big tournament next week. Yeah, we do. We do. Yeah. So there, we have a Lincoln pro women's tennis open.
Starting point is 00:00:52 You can look it up at the Instagram or Facebook. You know, you can be involved, a sponsor, partner, or a volunteer. This information there. I think it's a, yeah, we're hosting out of the tennis courts. And I think it's an opportunity to, it's called a W-15 Lincoln Pro Women Tennis Open. It's kind of on the lower tier on the professional level tournament. And I think it's, you know, the idea of trying to get some of the best players in the country in the world to come to play to Lincoln and see our facility, our town, our city and our community, you know. And I think it's when we're looking at thinking outside the box and thinking it's like,
Starting point is 00:01:34 how can we get some of the best recruits in the country that maybe don't want to come to visit you, but they'll come to play your tournament. Well, they'll see it. They also see it on the stream. Like you'll follow if they're following pro tennis players. Yeah, absolutely. So I've seen plenty of players around the country or always circling, hey, I'm going to play the W15 in Lincoln. And I think in November, I think it's important.
Starting point is 00:01:59 And, you know, so with the help, you know, the sponsors of the community and the people that are running the event, you know, has really done a good job. And I think the key is to, you know, is we, you know, I want to be known as a women's tennis school as well. You know, and I think, you know, we're very well known for quite a few sports, you know, and we're working hard here to make sure that we're also known as a tennis school. you know and i think it's trying to bring the you know i know the men's tennis has done a great job you know on their challenger and and racing their level too and i think we're trying to do the same things you know trying to raise the level and and bring more awareness that hey we have a great facility in town but but also i think the people will get behind tennis you know and trying to create that awareness uh you know we we want those best recruits not to go to north carolina
Starting point is 00:02:54 at Duke, you know, Texas, we want them to come to Nebraska. And I think we, you know, developmental side, I think we offer the same things, you know, the culture is really good. And I think the resources that we have here, I think we, you know, and I tell this everybody out that I don't think there's one resource that we don't have that some of the best programs have. So, so yeah, we're bringing that, the, it starts November 3rd to the 9th. Matches, I think it started Monday at 10 a.m.
Starting point is 00:03:18 And they kind of go throughout the day. Tuesday, Wednesday, Wednesday, Thursday, there will be matches starting at 5 p.m. So there will be night matches. And some of these players are the best players in the country. And some of them are going to play professional. They're already playing professional. They're ranked 300, 400, 400 WTA. And maybe in a few years, they'll be in top 100.
Starting point is 00:03:41 You know, they'll play in Grand Slams. And so it's good. It's free, free entry. You don't need a ticket. You can come in anytime you want. Watch really good tennis. And yeah, come get behind our, you know, show these players that our tennis community is big. And, you know, some really good tennis indoors.
Starting point is 00:03:59 So no matter what the weather is, you can come watch some tennis. That was the big question was indoors or out. Indoor tennis. Yeah. And there are six courts inside or eight? Six cores inside. We have six indoor courts. I think we only use four for competition.
Starting point is 00:04:15 The other two are for practice. But there'll be matches going on, you know, pretty much. from 10 a.m. all the way to maybe 7 8 p.m. Especially on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we'll have nine matches. So people can come watch, you know, after hours. And, you know, the USA, Missouri Valley's, you know,
Starting point is 00:04:33 put in some activities as well, you know. I think some of all of that information will be on Facebook, on the Lincoln Pro Women Tennis Open and on Instagram as well, Lincoln Pro Women's Tennis Open. Coach, thank you for doing this. And again, we're going to book you for next week because, quite frankly, we need more. I forgot my disclaimer that there's zero chance I can get to everything I wanted
Starting point is 00:04:53 to get through in an hour with you. But to support the event and another chance to come back, promote the event, promote your young ladies and let them let folks know about this incredible program and what you're doing. Well, no, thank you. No, thank you for having and thank you for just being another voice, you know, an extension of our athletics, you know, and supporting, you know, women's studies, but, you know, the Huskers in general, you know, I really appreciate your support and you love for anything Huskers. Amen. You just had a light right there.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Don't go anywhere. Adam Kerker, the big guy, strolls in here. He'll take you to 1 o'clock. Then Bach in the black shirt at old school. It's a full day here on the ticket.
