You're listening to One-on-One with DP.
Brought to you by Beatrice Bakery.
On 93-7 The Ticket and the Ticket FM.com.
Oh, that is some serious Ultimate Warrior running to the ring, fighting stuff.
I like that.
I like that.
Damien Daniels, Diatri Thomas.
I need to read this promo, and these guys are going to be here Saturday.
They'll be there Saturday.
We're going to be at the upside bar.
and lounge, 27th in Pine Lake for their launch party.
It's their anniversary, so they're going to do their thing.
Stop by from 5 to 7 for free food, free giveaways, including jerseys and more.
We'll broadcast live from there.
I'll go from 5 to 6.
May even drag these two on air with us, do that.
C.J. Wilcher and Kobe Webster, the truth, from Huskers hoops.
They will go from 6 to 7.
We've got some more Husker players and athletes that are going to show up there.
What else are you doing on your Husker football by weekend?
make plans to join us from five to seven for the launch party at the upside bar and lounge,
27th and Pine Lake this Saturday.
Huskers are plenty.
Come take some pictures.
Come meet the folks.
Give out hugs.
That's handling your business.
But I think it's a good relationship because y'all be able to have a place.
Y'all can go chill.
Yep.
Yep.
Get fad and handle the business.
So we're good.
So what else do you do in this bi-week?
What do you need to get accomplished before you get back to work?
Man, like I said, recovering, mentally, physically, you know, just getting back in the
film room, doing some self-scout, looking at yourself from past games, just looking at some
more things that you need, that you need to work on.
You know, taking one-on-one, sitting down one-on-one with your coach, or that's with Deontre
or, you know, the D-Line, just, you know, personal film study, seeing what was the other,
what is our brother's weakness or not.
DT, do you find it necessary to talk to linebackers,
to be on the same page with linebackers?
Because you're really setting for all the accolades that they've gotten, right?
Leading, you have several individuals that lead the conference in tackling.
That's your work.
As much as it is theirs, do you communicate with them about what they see and what they need?
Yeah, absolutely.
You know, Luke Rommer, he says about me on a plane and, you know,
We talk about things on the plane, you know,
talk about where he needs to be or where I need to be
so that he can fit and make the play.
You know, we talk about fits because, you know,
run fits matter, and it matters a lot.
I've tried to talk to the listeners about run fits.
And it's sometimes difficult, depending on a situation,
who you're scheming against what you're doing that particular play.
But for you, when you line up, is there a preference for you on the nose,
A gap, B gap, do you care where you line up?
me uh is there a place is there a place you prefer because if you're on the nose it's just you
and a dude and you get to you get to handle your business yeah like two man in front it don't
matter i could be it to the field or to the boundary uh but um like when this go down the three man
front i'm always going to be in the middle always going to be in the middle it's like not even
a debate whoever come in you know uh that's because you know big guy i'm the biggest doing on d
line so i got to hold down both agas and everything you were not the biggest dude
to D-line.
Y'all got some grown monsters out there.
Like, Ty's what?
Tye is what?
Tye is a monster.
Like, he's barely human.
Yeah.
Right?
I mean, him and Casey, like all of them, like,
those are some,
those are some big dudes.
Right?
So you've gone through,
you guys have faced three of the top runners
in the country.
Shut them all down.
And then you look forward, right?
You gave up some yarders to somebody
that didn't deserve it.
Yep.
What's the guy?
get right what's the get right this week what's the for next week what's the most important thing
that you guys need to do to make sure that never happens again um like i said before 11 has to the
ball that's always going to be our number one thing uh effort's not a problem everybody
give effort um but tackling our tackling everybody get there but it's all about wrapping up
you know and uh stopping the bleeding stopping the bleeding yardage uh just getting the run it down
DT, do you guys go live ever doing the week just to practice tackling?
No, we don't go live.
But we will thudge you up.
Yeah, that thump is important.
Like, and look, for seven of eight games, it worked.
You guys weren't satisfied with half of the game in Minneapolis.
That's like an easy statement.
But that going live during the week versus trying to simulate and emulate game speed, Saturday speed,
it's in the finish.
It's in the finish.
And it's funny because, you know,
you look at Purdue on film
and they kind of run some of the same stuff Nebraska does.
Is that going to make it easier for you to defend them next week?
You know, we got two different officers and everything, you know,
two unique programs.
But I want to say it's going to technically make it easier.
You're going to have to make some adjustments
and, you know, got to go back, watch the film and see what their weaknesses are and what
their strengths are, and we have to see how we can work with that and everything.
But I don't feel like it'll be easier or anything.
D.T., what's the right number of plays for you in a game?
The right number of plays as far as me making plays.
You know, every game, I try to make at least four tackles at least.
You know, that's my goal to make at least four tackles a game.
You know.
I think it's interesting that two friends who are close, who are battle together,
you guys have to battle through this thing.
And you guys can redirect it.
As you said, all things start in the middle.
And if you guys have a good Saturday next week, the black shirts will have a good Saturday.
Is that extra pressure?
Is that wanted pressure?
Is that needed pressure?
How do you look at it?
I'll say that's wanted pressure.
Because if your coaches can't depend on you and your,
your brothers can't depend on you to do your job or nothing.
Like, that's the pressure you will want.
Because, like, if you're supposed to be, how can I say,
if you're supposed to be a force and you're supposed to make an impact while you're on the field,
you want that.
You want that pressure.
But other than that, you know, it's a good pressure for us.
Gentlemen, it has been a pleasure.
We will do it again.
But next time, we get the parents.
Okay.
We're going to do that, D.T.
Daniels. Thank you guys. Old school
coming up, top of the hour.
