You're listening to one-on-one with DP, presented by Beatrice Bakery on 937 The Ticket and the Ticketfm.com.
Welcome back. You're live? We are live. Appreciate you guys for hanging out. Certified P. Montes, the Mercado,
84th and Havelock. If you've got a chance to swing by between now and six o'clock, swing by, hit us with a what's up, fist pound, give us a fist bump, and then head into the Mercado and find some amazing, amazing.
amazing meals. Again, they've got holiday gift boxes for you, $75 bucks and $150,
depending on what you want, twice the work, but all of the best beef that you can find.
Again, you've got New York strips, rib-eyes, ground beef, ultimate steak rub that they can put in there.
They've got the five-ounce boxes, little containers.
The summer sausage, which is the best thing that I've had in Lincoln.
True story. Amazing stuff. You can do the butcher's bounty box or Santa Selection
box come on through let them know that
937 the ticket sent
you. I would say this.
I'm going to ask Nick if you were there.
If you could please
would you hit my music?
We are going to set the tone
for the day and the
season going forward. If you
would please sir.
There must be something wrong with me, Linus.
Christmas is coming, but I'm not happy.
feel the way I'm supposed to feel. I just don't understand Christmas, I guess. I like getting
presents and sending Christmas cards and decorating trees and all that, but I'm still not happy. I
always end up feeling depressed. Charlie Brown, you're the only person I know who can take a
wonderful season like Christmas and turn it into a problem. Maybe Lucy's right. Of all the Charlie
Browns in the world, you're the Charlie Browniest. I'm sorry, I get way too
much entertainment out of that.
It is Christmas time.
So the holiday season,
and we want to say that.
Again, folks at Mercado set it up
so there's a couple of boxes you can put together
for people who care about
or even just your own family.
So stop by and pick those up today.
Gary Ackerman,
it's a pleasure to meet you, kind sir.
Thank you for your text,
and that makes it easier for us
to identify you.
Again, the whole point behind this,
if you're texting in from a number
and we don't know who you are,
we cannot acknowledge you,
and we cannot love on you.
We cannot say thank you.
cannot give you appreciation.
Josh Texas, this DP, I listed the station from 6.30 a.m. to sometimes 8 p.m. every day.
I'm a Nebraska sports fan in all sports. Love all the shows.
Let's get more wrestling on the shows, maybe even bringing the local Lincoln High School
wrestling coaches to help promote the sport. That's a wish.
He goes on to say, I will still say Nebraska versus North Carolina.
State was one of the best men's Nebraska basketball games I've seen in years.
Love all the shows. Keep producing a great product for a sports fanatics here in Nebraska.
again, Josh.
Josh, thank you because you're why we do this.
You're why we do this.
You care.
It matters.
And yeah, I still missed the fact that people didn't recognize what a really good basketball
game that was against East State, just as bad a basketball game that was against Michigan.
So we have Texas says love the program.
Greatly appreciate it.
Paul says, what's up, DP?
What's up, Paul?
I just want to say, you've been an outstanding addition to the sports radio market,
and you've taken 93-7 to another level.
I appreciate you and all the guys.
And the girls, because we have added women hosts.
We have the two young ladies for the gymnastics show every Monday night,
Nicole Griffin every Monday night, and we're not done.
We're not done.
There are some other programs.
Women's basketball, women's volleyball, track and field that we want to talk about bowling.
I told you guys, I'm a bowling groupie.
We want that.
We want more wrestling shows.
We've got Mark Manning at the door.
Like, I just need to push them across.
So you have access to Mark Manning.
Text him and says he needs to do his own show on 93-7 the ticket.
If you have athletes, you have coaches, if you're a coach listening and you haven't been on this show,
you have an open invitation.
If you're a high school coach and you want to come on and talk and give love to your program
and to your student athlete, you have an open invitation.
Reach out.
Please reach out.
Like I have never been offered, had a high school coach say that they wanted to come in and have a conversation with me and said,
to it. I've got five days a week, 15 segments in this three to four o'clock hour, right, to be able to
have conversations and let people know who you are, what you love, why you love it. That is the
entire intent of one-on-one, and whether it's a Husker or a professional or a high school coach
or a student athlete. I mean, through this, I've met some of the best people, some of my favorite
people here in Lincoln.
From the Davis family, the Meyer family,
etc., you folks who have reached out and been a part
of my personal life
because they allowed me in theirs.
But coaches, come on in.
I mean, we've set that path
and given that directive.
If you're going to come on and you want to talk about your
student athletes, I'm all in.
I'm all in. And it doesn't even have
to be in season.
So reach that out.
And Taylor, yes, I am a King, Penn
fan. Bowling groupies, I'm a kingpin fan. Simple.
Joe P. says, not sure what I miss, but loving the power of positivity.
We should get wrestling too soon to talk about a wrestling entertainment hour or two, but I would
try out to be a co-host. I think if we did a pro wrestling hour each week, we would have
fans in who love wrestling, and you'd have to fight Bach, because Bach would want to be
like first table. But if you're a pro wrestling fan, reach out. Hit me up on Twitter.
right hit me up on Twitter and let me know that hey this is the thing that I'd be interested in doing
if you find interest in it and that there's a crowd in a market for it and then we just have
to get a sponsor for it but the same thing applies just with mixed martial arts and the
UFC there are places that carry it and cover it and give exposure to it and those fighters
have made a point and purpose a matter of fact on the 13th I believe Monday yeah
Anthony Lionheart Smith will come in the studio.
And Derek Minter, who fights tomorrow night, or Saturday night, the following week, right?
I mean, the folks are there.
How you doing, boss?
What did you get?
What did you get?
You got chicken.
Hot dogs.
Oh, you, you hit the home run, bro.
That's good.
You're good.
Yeah, that's what next time is before.
You have a great one.
That's really good.
Like to see people come out of here after they've gone shopping in the deli area.
Like these are folks, like they march in with purpose.
And then when they hit that door coming out, there was a lady that came in that went in.
And she got, they got her meat.
They got the meat.
And then she stopped at the door, pivoted it, went right over to the gelato section and grabbed the gelato.
And she was, like she couldn't even wait.
she opened it in the store and had her spoon out.
Husker 52 says, what's up?
What's up?
I would love to see you do an episode with the Nebraska football coaching staff,
but not talk about football, get to know each staff member,
including Scott Frost outside of football.
Here's how brilliant this idea is.
I want to do this with every program,
every athletic program at the University of Nebraska that will do that.
I want to have a roundtable where they just talk about life in general,
life in Lincoln, life before Lincoln.
I'd love to do that.
That is a great idea, and it's not that far from happening.
But here's amongst all of these great ideas,
so that I can still have a home life
and not spend all of our money.
We have to sponsor things before we get them.
So that's why we're always looking for sponsors.
We're always looking for folks who help.
And the more sponsors we get, the more shows we can put out,
more content we can put out.
And the better the level of it.
Because quite frankly, you get what you pay for.
And being able to put sponsors in place for those coaches and be able to do that
would be spectacular.
But that is an exceptional idea, Husker 52.
And we're not done with the whole BIP club thing.
I wanted to do it for Christmas, but it looks like New Year's.
And we'll be able to get that stuff going.
Because some of you have been loyal and faithful, and I want to say thank you.
And that is going to be a way for us to identify you and you identify each other.
So when you walk down the street, there's a hat or a shirt that lets you know you're part of the elite fan club, the special fan club.
And it'll be the first 93 plus the first seven.
And we will take care of that.
And we will do that sometime in January.
So we will do that.
It seems important to me that we do that.
And hopefully it's important to you guys.
So I think that's a good way for us to stay connected and stay unified.
What's happened in Cleveland, Mike?
Appreciate you, man.
I feel like watching Pitt's offense.
We're finally going to see Nebraska
take some steps towards running a big,
10 big boy offense thoughts.
I will talk to that, about that, to Jay Foreman
in the next hour.
Because there's specifics behind that.
And again, the mantra going forward is,
let's watch it play out.
But I like the direction.
And that is a statement of truth.
So we'll throw it to break.
Again, I'm live at the Mercado.
We'll be here until 6 o'clock.
Certified peatmontese beef, it is the best there is.
And I have to give away a little secret.
I'm a very poor eater on my own.
But if I'm in the right place and something good happens there.
So I don't eat breakfast and I have to do better.
But because I was filling it for Tom from 11 to 2,
I didn't take lunch.
I didn't eat.
So I walked into the Mercado
and there they are on the shelf
there's some jambalaya they just made.
And I asked if I could have something hot
and he said yes.
Goodness gracious.
If somebody tells you
you can't get good jambalaya
in Lincoln,
I'm telling you the jambalaya here is on point.
I just had a day with spectator.
Thank you.
Well done.
Well done.
So if you're looking for it, come on through the Mercado,
and they can have it for you.
Greatly appreciate it.
We'll close out one-on-one when we come back.
