Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to One-on-One with D.P. Presented by Beatrice Makeray on 93-7 The Ticket and the Ticketfm.com. Final segment of one-on-one. I think you folks are being so kind and generous today. You have been gracious in your words. You make a fellow feel like what we wanted to be and what we're trying to be is actually happening. We're a community of folks that get together on a day-to-day basis and hang out and cheer for each other. from the text line.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Lemon says, I'm an educator and I coach track and I love helping people. But sports is my biggest passion. I listen to you guys and wish I had gone into broadcasting so I could work there because now you've made me realize you can help people through sports too. That's the ultimate end game of sports. That's the very reason. It is a connector. It is a connector and it's very nature.
Starting point is 00:00:54 It's what it's here for, why we care about it because it's communities who are having success and are doing things together. Lemon, there is a way for you to help be you. if you ever want to come in and talk about your experiences you want to talk about what it's like as an educator how you're reaching young people talk about going through i come from a track family so come on let's work it out we'll figure out a way to come in and have a conversation there's zero reason for you not to have say so and have impact you deserve it you've earned the right to have that shanelow says this great content as always the engagement you bring to the community is incredible
Starting point is 00:01:31 I enjoy watching the station. All those involved continue to prosper. Next time I swing in the berries before some round ball. I'm going to give you a fist pump. Please do. Greatly appreciate it. And yes, I believe we're back there for Iowa and Wisconsin. At least I'm told that, but I'm sure they will promote that as well.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Thanks, T. Pete. You've been a great addition to the show. Thank you for everybody at the ticket. That's for the guy who got pushing the snowbank by T.O. Love that. Taylor, one of these days, you're going to have to bring your pup by the station and let us all love on it. at any point and you guys don't need a reason to bring your puppy by the ticket we're we're all puppy folks
Starting point is 00:02:10 so if you're just driving around with your puppy and you want to you want it to come and get pets and give kisses bring it by the radio station we're all puppy folks it's greatly appreciated we can do that from the text line what's up d p i enjoy your show bring a fresh perspective to the radio waves could you think about interviewing some of the people behind the scenes of the different sports people who take care of uniforms, equipment, that sort of stuff. Thanks, John. John, if you're telling me that you are one of these people, please, yes. And again, I'll keep repeating this.
Starting point is 00:02:43 If you are connected to somebody that you feel like we should interview, and it doesn't have to be me, I don't have to be the person that does the interview, but if there's somebody that you want me to interview, just reach out and let me know. If there's somebody else that you think fits from a better personality standpoint, point or philosophy or whatever the case may be, let us know that too. Again, the whole point, we're Lincoln. And the mission would be for people in Lincoln to have voice about Lincoln things. And you don't have to like the person involved in the conversation.
Starting point is 00:03:20 You simply can reach a point of agreement that we're all rooting for each other. Like, that's the whole point, is that we're all rooting for each other, unless you're a Cowboys fan this week. And then otherwise I'm rooting for you. I'm even rooting for you then. I just don't want you win that game. There's simplicity in that. We'll keep it simple.
Starting point is 00:03:42 It is a big week at sports, and we're rooting for the Husker basketball team. They're going through some real health issue concern situation, and we're rooting for you, and we're praying for you, and sending well wishes. It's tough to be in a viral situation and still have to go out there, participate and you know for folks who called them lazy and lackadaisical well some of those folks
Starting point is 00:04:05 were out there fighting things that you weren't aware of right that's what that was so we'll continue to root for them dudes and when they play poorly it's okay to say they play poorly but we should root for them as well i'll tell you at the top of the hour what i would like to do is to make somebody smile and so in the next hour via the text line and through the website, send me a nomination. Send me a nomination for somebody we can make smile today. I want to do that if we can. Lots to do in the next couple of hours.
Starting point is 00:04:38 Barry Thompson, Kevin Meyer, from Meyer Cork and Bottle, Jay Foreman. And Nikki Beat, Nikki's trivia, 445, stay by the phone, be prepared. You can win 15 bucks from upside bar and lounge. Don't go anywhere. Old school. Up next on 9370. The ticket live from the Mercado.
