Starting point is 00:00:00 Back to one-on-one with DP. Presented by Beatrice Bakeray on 93-7 The Ticket and the Ticketfm.com. Final second, but a one-on-one, Sean Callahan, Husker, online, and you guys have been really busy on the text lines. Let me get to a couple of them. You can ask Sean those questions and see what Sean has to say about it. Speaking of developing players, can we name more than three players that we can honestly say
Starting point is 00:00:30 for us coaches have developed on the offensive side of the ball. When you're not winning, it's, These are hard questions because obviously everything feels like crap right now. But I think the tight ends have gotten better. Austin Allen, Wollkeleck. I mean, they're just so young. I mean, how many guys have been here three years? I think Juergens has gotten better.
Starting point is 00:00:53 I know a lot of NFL people. Juergens has a decision. Like, he could legitimately leave this year. If he does, I'll stop him at the airport. You'll stop at the airport. Stop at the airport. It's not time, yeah. Yeah, I think one more year would go well.
Starting point is 00:01:05 but his ability to pull out to the second level has the NFL people's attention. There aren't a lot of centers in the league that can get out like he does. That question happens now, right? With Jojo and Cam Taylor Britt, Samori Toure, who else has an opportunity from this football team? As it stands now, who else has an opportunity to really do something or be seen? In the NFL level. Well, Austin and Volk Alec. Travis Wilk in Austin Allen.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Yeah, Samore, Omar's obviously got to come back another year. I mean, he just hasn't been there. I think long term, Xavier Betts could get to that level. He's still got three more years left at Nebraska. So Teddy Prohaska, I mean, you heard Dominic Raola on your station, your DP. I mean, he's a high-level guy down the road. But, yeah, you go over to the defensive side of the ball. I think still he's a priority free agent guy.
Starting point is 00:02:10 If I had a guess, I mean, it's hard to, it depends where he's slotted and how he, if he gets a combine invite and where he fits in there. I think Ty Robinson, he's just a freshman as well. I think long term he could go get into that level. Luke Reimer, NFL guy, I think, right now. See, so there are some bodies in the secondary. Are the guys back there? What do you thoughts?
Starting point is 00:02:29 Well, Cam Taylor Britt, obviously. Deontes got a shot. I don't know about Markell, though. But I think Deonté will get an opportunity. Yeah, it'll be an interesting ride. The same thing happens with basketball, even as it stands after three games. A lot of the conversation is, who comes back, how long do they stay, who are the candidates? For you, with Bryce, do you think this is a one and done?
Starting point is 00:02:54 Do you think this is, or do you think the season will tell us? No, I think there's enough out there already that leads me to believe it's a one and done. I think that's what he wants in my mind. I know Bryce and I have talked, and I think if he was offered a G-League deal in high school, he would have considered that highly. And he wasn't. But you know more about this DP, but high school kids are getting offered. It's bananas.
Starting point is 00:03:22 $250,500. And there's too many of them getting offered. How much money are they getting offered? Well, I mean, now, especially with name image and likeness, there are ways to parachute in deals and to announce sponsorships that don't exist. just so that money can swap hands. And Nebraska, the entire starting five is driving cars. I mean, like, there's a lot of NIL going on for not just football, volleyball.
Starting point is 00:03:48 That's a lot, though. I mean, look, I've been around sports a long time. I don't know, other than Michigan and North Carolina, I can't think of many programs where all five starters got cars. That's the support. That's the support at this place. But LAT can't get anything. Internet.
Starting point is 00:04:07 International. International. Andre can't. I mean, any international guy can't, but that's the kind of support at Nebraska. Man. People care here. They definitely care.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I just make sure they care the right way. This is crazy. I want to be back at Tanner's, by the way, for the Bud Crawford fight. So you'll be here, South. I'll be in Middleton. You'll be in Middleton. Robin and I are going to be out there,
Starting point is 00:04:30 so get out there. If you're traveling, no cover charge, too, for the fight, right? Yeah, that's the part where I'm waving at you all from a distance. See, I'll be in Middleton. Okay. All right. Good stuff.
Starting point is 00:04:40 But it's going to be nuts here. It's time. Bud Crawford defends the title on the 20th. Stay true. Jay Foreman, Hussker Hall of Famer on Old School on 927 the ticket.
