You're listening to one-on-one with DP.
Sponsored by Beatrice Bakery on 937 The Ticket and the Ticketfm.com.
We're going to change it from John Cena sucks to mean people suck.
Good choice.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It is the season that should be every season.
But in a season of thanks and the tough times that we've had,
people have somehow lost their kindometer.
It doesn't really register.
So a friend of the show called in to say,
listen, folks are out and about and lining up at restaurants,
trying to order food and the behavior.
The behavior towards people who are working.
Because, I don't know, if they sold out of chicken,
or, you know, there's a problem in the back, a machine broke down.
I was at Tanner's and the machine broke down, the fry broke down.
And most of the people were extraordinarily kind.
Why?
Because it was the right thing to do.
It was the right thing to do.
Being told that there are people who are going into these stores
and just being obnoxious because things,
because they're chicken sandwiches and on time,
can we calm down a little bit can we chill just chill we can disagree and and not hate we can
we can be disappointed without being obnoxious can we do that for the folks who are working
to try to feed folks over the course of the next couple of days just be kind just be kind
Like I look to have somebody call in and say listen
Folks are making it tough for people who are working in restaurants and stores
Can we stop?
Can we stop?
And really
Let's just remember
These are tough and interesting times
So folks who are showing up to work to do the difficult work
Let's give them a break
Just because it's the right thing to do
Just because
Be kind
I'm told that's in a breath
I'll ask you a thing.
One more time, Nick.
Beatrice Bakery, we have a submission that I want to honor.
I'll read you the note.
Katie just lost her mother in September in a late-night car crash.
She was awoken at midnight to the police.
This will be her first holiday without her mother.
She was her mother's only child and her best friend.
while she's put on a brave face.
I know she struggles, and Christmas was their favorite holiday.
I think for this we need to put together a nice little care package.
Again, don't go through it alone.
Nobody should have to go through that sort of suffering.
It is the holiday.
And for the record, you see people reaching out, reach out.
Reach out.
People are going through it.
It'll take a team.
It always does.
It always does.
So we'll go to, we'll finish this wonderful hour.
And hopefully we made some smiles along the way.
Folks who are having some difficult times and we're not done.
So if you want to nominate, go to the website, the ticketfm.com.
There's two tabs, one for Beatrice's Bakery, one for Thanksgiving.
Hit those up, put the information in and we'll respond to it.
Greatly appreciate your kindness as well.
But thinking of others, getting to folks that we can't normally get to.
Old school.
Up next, top of the hour on 93-7th the ticket.
