Starting point is 00:00:00 Back to one-on-one with D.P. Sponsored by the Downtown Lincoln Foundation on 93-7 the ticket. Final segment, Vermont, DeMaggio, Oscar Women's Tennis, as they about the board. The team van, coach is driving the four hours to Witsita. That's correct. Yeah. Take a little SUV and a minivan and we'll pack this. the car, the players in there and we'll drive in there.
Starting point is 00:00:33 You pack food. Do you pack snacks? They pack snacks. Yeah, we pack a few snacks. Will you stop on the way or will you just get there? It depends how much coffee I have, you know, if I need a bathroom break, you know. The players usually will stop once, you know, if it's a couple hour drive, we don't. But if it's a four hour, it might stop once.
Starting point is 00:00:51 Yeah. You know, bathroom break and keep going. Do you try to schedule these trips in pockets so post lunch? right, post-breakfast. So at least the meal is in, because then if you don't, you've got to add the meal to the travel. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:06 So it kind of depends. This one, we wanted them to go to class today. So they didn't miss school at all because we usually on Tuesday, Thursdays, we practice in the afternoon. So they don't have class. And then we want to just miss less class. So we're leaving right after lunch. So they go eat a training table after class and then we leave right after.
Starting point is 00:01:26 At times, depending, depending on the moment, we might leave in the morning and then grab lunch, you know, on the road. But this one were, since it is just a four-hour drive, I think we're getting there. And as soon as we get there, we're going straight to the course and practice and get a good dinner and then get some rest and then play the next day. Do you scout, like, where you're going to eat just to make sure that they're getting something of value in the space you're in? Yeah. We have a few places that, you know, we want to, whether it's a pasta place or steak or, you know, something like that, where we're getting good nutrients in for the next day. So for sure. Yeah, we won't go to those, you know, a fast food
Starting point is 00:02:05 place or a place where I don't feel like the food is going to be good enough for, you know, for overnight and for the next day. So yeah, we do that. We do. And sometimes they, they pick places, you know, I let them the team kind of pick places. And I kind of say yes or not. If it's a, you know, for the most part, they kind of know what we're respecting and what we want. So the places they pick now. Bach, you listen to dad over here having to, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, having, being to eat that day. You know, I think when I got the job here, I made a, it used to be different.
Starting point is 00:02:41 It used to be, like, coaches decide where to go and sometimes they'll, like, take it in a hotel and all that. And sometimes the players will be like, oh, I don't like this and that. So I made a choice to be like, hey, for now on, you know, uh, you're going to choose where we go. And then I, I can, I can say yes or no to it, you know, you know, But then once we go like, this is our yes, this is our nose. And then I'll let you guys pick because I don't care where we go as long as, you know, it's a good place for the team, but they like it.
Starting point is 00:03:07 And if you eat something that leads to a win, you're more likely to get a yes. Absolutely. Coach, good luck. We will be following the two matches away. And we'll see you again next week. Sounds great. Thank you guys so much.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Hermando Magro, Huskers, women's tennis, five and one heading to Wichita this afternoon. So plenty there. Don't go anywhere, Adam Caracrit. Up next here on the ticket. MWR, a local company of Lincoln, is proud to announce they're able to offer their own post-frame building packages and metal to anyone desiring.
