That's funny.
It's funny.
Like it's, and I'm not saying anybody's preference is wrong.
I'm literally asking questions.
Right?
And it's funny to me back how upset people get up.
The idea, whether it's part of the DNA of football,
then why in the evolution and improvement of college and pro football do domes exist?
Why were they created in the first place?
You know why?
Because weather sucks.
Why does the NFL the highest least?
league of football that exists.
Why does the NFL give benefit and perk to franchises and cities in nice climates who have
a dome stadium?
You're talking, in my mind, you're talking about events, right?
The better event you can create, get more people in, right?
Marketing, all that sort of stuff.
Absolutely, warm weather helps out.
And that's the way to go.
And that was simply.
And that's why you see all that.
But talk about some good cold Midwest.
football, that's, that's, that's, that's a, it's a different thing. And again, I'm not making
this up. This is, this is the thing for over the years of, of Nebraska fans, especially during
the Tom Osborne losing streak down in Florida in bowl games. They would love to have had the,
Florida teams come up and play in Nebraska. Go with me here, Buck, okay, at Nebraska's
heyday. So let's say 70s, 80s, right? Where those playoff games, if they existed then,
would have been at Nebraska. Fair?
Absolutely, yeah. Well, they'd probably get the buy more often.
Right? They would have got to buy.
But it would have been a part of the conversation.
Yeah.
And being that Memorial Stadium was the mothership for college football, right?
It was the grand dom of all football stadiums and all football environments, right?
Yeah, definitely among them at least.
So why was there no ball game at Memorial Stadium all of that time?
Because of the stuff I was just talking about, marketing, attendance, that sort of stuff.
But if you build a, you build a dome team here in the Midwest and, and see how it plays out when they have to go on the road to Iowa, good luck.
Hey, Bob, where do the Huskers?
They have an indoor facility, don't they?
They do.
Okay.
I'm just, because they don't, you know, why they have an indoor facility?
I don't want to get cold.
They, what sucks.
What sucks.
This, you know, if, okay, let's say Husker Bay.
baseball is 40 and 15, right?
14 and 50 playing well.
Absolutely, yeah.
Right?
Two options.
To play in 45 degree March, Nebraska weather,
or play in 65 degree Nebraska weather.
Which game would be more highly attended and appreciated?
Probably that 65.
Probably so.
You know why?
The weather sucks.
That's all I'm saying.
Like,
everybody wants to.
Yes, of course you want the home game.
But Grant loved the advantage of Metropolitan State.
Loved it.
Lambofeet, Vince Lombardy, but, you know what happened at Green Bay?
You know what happened?
The weather was so bad that Vince Lombardi,
the greatest NFL coach of all time,
had them put coils, heating coils, under the field at Lambeau Field.
And it was so bad that it beat the system.
The weather beat the system and created the ice bowl.
The weather was, Mother Nature was like, oh, silly humans,
you think your little football game can beat me?
I'm going to give you ice.
Have that it.
have at it, and they still play at it, and Bravo to them.
But they're having the conversation in D.C. right now.
And there was RFK and FedEx Field.
Everybody, oh, oh, the snow games are RFK.
Oh, those are some of the best, some of the best.
Okay, fans, you have an opportunity to build your own, the perfect stadium.
We're a dome.
What a roof on it.
I don't want to sit in the snow.
I don't want to do that.
You're not right or wrong.
I'm just pointing out that the reason why Nebraska has never had a bowl game in Lincoln, Nebraska,
because they could have, right?
They could have.
Again, that's a tough sell to the, the, to the, why?
Why?
Bok, tell me why that would be a tough sell.
Well, maybe the traveling fan bases might not be so joyous.
come into lincoln nebraska it's so cold oh we'll go to break hour number two we'll pay some
more bills and we'll talk about husbands and watch live on facebook youtube or twitch you're listening
