Directing your business.
We have lost the ability to provide information to the people.
Everywhere.
Let me let's get together.
What do you do?
I work for who.
Don't worry about that.
Look, I have enough money to buy you lunch.
Is that that enough?
I don't know who you want.
are this whole segment is brought to you by i don't know who you are you are you you don't even
go here this is like this this whole this segment brought to you by john sina i can't see me
can't see me just there are people who just we've lost the ability to communicate
hi my name is derrick and this is what i do for living and this is why i find you interesting or
this is what i'd like to discuss with you instead we get people yelling at a
just random stuff that just is without context, without connections.
Like, were we, were we, like you feel like you walked in on a conversation that's been going on for a while,
except for you weren't a part of it.
No, not at all.
But it was about you to you, just not including you.
So that's constantly what we do.
So spring football, and this is, I am intrigued when people say,
a well you know defense is pretty settled
is it
I don't know like
like even four four four or five out of 11
spots or are
like what Jay was saying
I would like to say the inside linebackers
and the outside linebackers maybe
I'm not even sure about the defense
but where would who
I mean Jojo's position
was that an outside
he was his own he was his own
nickel, whatever, but it was just like the Jojo spot.
Like he didn't, he wasn't an outside linebacker.
He wasn't a corner, but he was always there.
So who is going to always be there?
No idea.
Like I said, the inside of the outside linebackers, I think those are set.
The defensive line, I'm not sure.
I mean, you have Ty Robinson, who people are pretty, pretty solid on.
I don't know about the rest of it.
Like, I don't know.
Yeah, Casey, if he's healthy.
I don't, right, like, don't know.
Yeah.
You've got Garrett Nelson.
Like, are you willing to wager, are you willing to wager a bag of M&Ms that they're going to be,
that's going to be the starting four linebackers?
Yeah.
Yes.
I will wager a bag of M&Ms that Garrett Nelson, Luke Rimer, Nick Henrich, and Caleb Tanner are your four starting linebackers.
You really think so?
Yeah.
And then who starts up front?
No idea.
Those are the only four.
Right.
And then who starts at safe?
Couldn't that.
That's, oh.
I don't know.
That's a big question.
I don't know.
You've got Noah Pola Gates who's in his third, fourth year in the program,
but you also brought in two high-level transfer safeties.
You've got a couple guys who can make, you know,
how Travis Fisher likes to cross-train everybody,
so the corners can play safety.
The safeties can play corners.
So you've got pretty much everybody in that defensive backfield can play all of those positions.
So it's just a big old question mark.
Right?
We don't have answers.
No.
And so I said you've got a couple guys from you got what two guys from juco you brought
Tommy Hill over from Arizona State like it's questions questions abound yeah I again I understand
that people feel comfortable because the leadership's in place but Dawson has new responsibility
he has new responsibilities and and remember he was he was the linebackers coach the outside
back so he had enough responsibility last year to do that.
as a full-time job
into itself.
And now he's got to take on more responsibilities.
Yay.
Man.
It's a lot of work going around.
So who are some of the names?
He said if you look up front,
you know, Pola Bear, everybody's looking at Polar Bear.
The strength they were talking about it on Sunday morning pancakes.
Right.
He squats about a thousand pounds.
Nine billion pounds.
He can lift a building.
That sounds about right.
But who steps up?
Who are you curious about?
Who am I curious?
I mean, who are you curious about?
Outside of Nashutmocker?
I mean, really, the two that we just mentioned,
Ty Robinson and Casey Rogers,
you had Ty Robinson, who, for all intents and purposes,
was a starter last year, I believe,
and was making a pretty big impact on maybe not a game-to-game basis.
is if I say he was inconsistent, that might be the exact way.
He just made me spill coffee.
But when he was on, he was on.
And you were like, all right, that guy's great.
But then there were a couple of plays here.
There are a couple of games where he would kind of disappear.
And that's not like a slight to him.
It just happens.
Like he was really good.
And then there's a couple of times where you're like, oh, snap, where's Ty Robinson?
And for the entire season, until he came back, everybody was saying,
oh, you know, when Casey Rogers gets back, he's one of our better pass rushers.
When Casey Rogers gets back, when Casey Rogers gets back, he got back.
I don't remember what game.
He made sort of an impact, but again, he was coming back from an injury.
He didn't get to play most of the season.
So hopefully he can stay healthy, get this entire, you know, winter, spring, summer,
conditioning under him to then come back in the fall and make that impact that everybody
said he was going to make last season before he got hurt.
So it's those two where you have a guy who is supposed to be.
the dude who can be the dude and a guy who has from what they say everything they're looking
for in a pass rusher they just need to get him on the field so the the the corner opposite
newsome like you've had a run are we sure it's going to be newsome no like i really like we'd like
to think i mean he's been a playmaker he's been out there but do we know what the secondary will look
like. I mean, is
some of the, now the voice of reason
and logic back there?
Yes. Your
eyes, your, your, your, your
quarterback, your play caller, your audible, your
coverage confirmer,
your, uh, your cleaner
upper, you're, right?
I mean, it's, it's him and
Braxton Clark have the
most experience back there, like in
this, in this system. So is that
what we hope? Are we hoping
that, that for veterans' sake, right?
I mean, if you're doing this strictly for veterans' sake, those two, yes.
But if you're doing it for who's the better players, I mean, you've got to get in the camp and figure it out.
I'm so curious about this.
Because like I said, you brought it, you brought in some transfers.
Taman, Lynum is getting a lot of love from the coaches.
Okay.
So we're, we're, they brought in Omar Brown.
I'm going to simplify this.
Wasn't he the freshman of the year in Northern Iowa?
We're going to start at the top.
right we're literally going to start at the top of the roster right let's do it right yeah do we know
what's his body looking like do we know no uh tarry johnson the five star from ohio state
all the hype got hurt and like wouldn't this be a time for him to steal a spot oh yeah this
this is the perfect time for him to just step into the role and be like, hey, I am the starter, I am a captain, I am a leader, follow me to success.
Right.
This is the perfect time for him.
Alante Brown, do we starter or no?
That is, that is a name I have not heard in ages.
Alante Brown is a guy that I want.
Sit around, kids.
Let me tell you about the legend.
Sorry about Alante Brown.
Alante Brown is a dude I want to see on the field so badly.
And we have seen him on kick return,
just waving his hand in the air and catching a football.
He's the best waiver on the team.
That's it.
I want him on the field.
Do I think he's going to be a starter?
I don't know.
Omar Manning.
Flashes.
So many flashes of what he can be.
I hope he can put it all together
and they can find more use for him.
Latrell Neville.
Ooh.
That's a name.
Right.
Like, that's a name.
Right.
That was a big, that was a big get.
64-195.
That was a big get.
You know, from the fighting high towers down in Fresno, Texas.
Ooh, buddy.
And I'm just trying to figure out what's going on, man.
Where you at, bro?
Where are you at?
Logan Smothers.
That's, you know, that's, I,
I asked, me and Nick had Evan Bland on on Friday, and I asked him, you know, I didn't want to put him in a position or anybody else in a position, but I was like, okay, let's just assume that Casey Thompson has the job. We're not saying he does, you know, for all those people that get mad at just handing the transfer quarterback, the starting reins. Let's just assume for assumptions sake that Casey Thompson has a job. You look at Logan Smothers, you look at Chubbock-Purdy, you look at Heinrich Harburg, who are you the most?
most interested in. And I asked Evan Bland that, and he said he's interested in all three because
all three have something that they do better than the others. Logan's Mothers is probably the
fastest, probably the most athletic with his feet. You heard people complaining about his throwing
in the Iowa game. I thought he made some pretty good throws. So I think he is going to have a,
I hope he has a great winter and spring. And I can see him if this coaching staff is true to
their word and they are going to have a competition for the starting job i can see him pushing for
that starting position did you know that logan's mothers has a twin brother a twin a younger twin
brother in spencer arsono i did not spencer arsono red shirt freshman mobile alabama and if you change
the part in their hair oh wow what in the world if you change if you change if you change
if you change the parting of the hair
Dude that's awesome
There's no right
Like there's no
And they're pretty what
Logan 6-1-995 Spencer 6118
You have a little brother
It's his little bro
It's the hair twins
Does Logan know?
He probably knows today
Wait
Which one?
Which one is adopted?
Well what you should do
Is it Logan Arsenal?
You should switch
you should switch jerseys and see if anybody can tell the difference.
Yeah.
It'll be interesting.
Yeah.
What do you?
What's in the head of Heinrich Harburg with this offseason?
Like he went from being in the conversation.
Short, short answer, I can do this.
Like he can.
If he puts his head down, does the work like,
like Jay said, you go into a quarterback, you know, laboratory, you create a quarterback,
probably going to look something like Heinrich Harburg.
In the lab.
So he has everything you want.
Now it just comes down to performing, doing that on the field, knowing the playbook,
knowing the ins and that.
Like he would have to know the playbook better than anybody on the team to, to,
become the starter just because of the lack of experience he has.
But his skill set would allow him to perform at a high level.
But I am not sure if he can reach that just yet.
Who comes out of spring camp higher on the depth chart?
Richard Torres or Heinrich Harbour?
You think so?
Yeah, Torres is still getting over the ACL.
Okay.
I'm going to take your word for it.
Okay.
Who comes out higher on the deaf chart?
Logan or Cheba?
No.
Xavier.
Don't do this to me.
Omar.
Hmm.
Gut.
Gut says Omar.
Brain says.
Brain also says Omar.
Zavier or Luntz.
Hart says Xavier.
Xavier.
or Alante.
Coach is true to their word,
clean slate,
everybody starts over.
Alante.
Where is Matt Masker on the Deptree?
Masker the Pasca,
my guy?
Mm-hmm.
No idea.
Fair, right?
I could see him,
again, I can see him above Richard Torres.
Baron Miles Jr.
He's got the name.
Mm-hmm.
One more year.
Noah Pola Gates.
he's been here three three years right he massive recruiting win got hurt his first season didn't get in because of that
saw special teams and very sparse playing time i i want to say he'll be pushing for that starter role but i believe he might
just miss it based on the fact that, again, they brought in a bunch of transfers.
I'm not handing the transfers to job, but they brought in a bunch of more experienced players
at the exact position he plays.
I'm going to throw you under the bus, sir.
We're going to go to break.
When we come back, we'll close out.
I'll ask you, Gabe Irvin or Mayor Johnson?
Why are you the way you are?
I woke up this one.
You know what I want to say.
I woke up this way.
You know exactly what I want to say.
