We'll put cakes and desserts on the table for your Valentine's. what I want on the text line is the best story. Why is your Valentine the best? Why do you have the best Valentine?
Starting point is 00:01:46 What makes them the best Valentine? And we'll give away a care package so you can do that. You can give that away. Also, what we want to get done, simple enough, and of course that will be done courtesy of Beatrice Bakery. Super Bowl squares. Got to get that in. Right?
Starting point is 00:02:08 Got to get that in. Here's the question for you. I will give the stats and you give me the answer. And I'll give you Super Bowl squares. This Super Bowl MVP had the fewest passing yards of any Super Bowl MVP ever. ever who is he few us passing yards by a quarterback and super bowl MVP ever who is he mhm mhm rico i had to go deep on this one yeah i'm not going to get that i'm writing down names now right now right right um also rico just to let you know we have to give name
Starting point is 00:03:11 number email for the people who won the Mary Ellen's so that what we need, they need his, their menu choices. So you have to send them the menu and then ask them, okay, what entree, what start or what do you want? So asking them for their name,
Starting point is 00:03:28 their number, email, and then what they want off the menu. And then do they, because they just go there. They just go there on Valentine's Day? Well, they need to tell them what time they want to come.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Okay. Okay. I'll let them know that. Right? So all of that is in place. So it is not, the answer is not Bart Starr. The number is, the name is not Len Dawson. Nope, not Bart Starr.
Starting point is 00:03:53 The fewest passing yards for Super Bowl quarterback MVP ever. Ever. Ryan, Ryan, you got it. Well, done. I'll take one more. Whoever can come up with that Norseweese. No, it is not Norseweiss. He was never an MVP.
Starting point is 00:04:13 He was not a Super Bowl. Ryan Ryan got it right. I don't know if it's a guess, but the number is 100. No, it wasn't Brady. It was not Brady. He threw for two touchdowns. He just didn't throw for many yards. Nope, not Brady.
Starting point is 00:04:33 Pretty good. I thought we'd get into a pretty good space here. Like, I, yeah. Yeah, so I will take. take your nomination, just tell me what makes your Valentine the best Valentine. That's what we need. It was not Dilfer. It was not Manning.
Starting point is 00:04:59 It was not Lynn Dawson. Jack Kemp, it is not Jack Kemp. Super Bowl MVP. It was not Eli Manning. It was not Peyton Manning. It was not John Elway. Jeff is on the Honda Lincoln Hotline. Jeff, what's up?
Starting point is 00:05:19 Jeff. Not much you. What's on your mind? Ben Rathlisberger. It is not Ben Rathesberger. It is not. It is not Joe Montana. It is not Tony Eason.
Starting point is 00:05:34 It is not Johnny Unitas. Did you say D.C. Dale got it right. Ryan Ryan got it right. I didn't see. It was not Earl Morrill. Ryan Ryan got it right. I would not have guessed that one. Ah, I know you wouldn't.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Howard. Howard is on the Honda. Lincoln Hot Lion. Howard, what's up, man? How are you doing this morning? I'm good, I'm good. How are you? What's up? Oh, I just taking a guess on your question of the day. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Terry Bradshaw. No, it is not Terry Bradshaw. It is not. It is not, it is not, it is not Foles, it is not Namath, it is not Jim Kelly. So the question is, what Super Bowl MVP
Starting point is 00:06:20 QB? And yet they won the MVP at the Super Bowl, had the fewest passing yards in the Super Bowl while winning the MVP. It was not Kurt Warner. It was not Rich Gannon. It was not Bob Greasy. Branch is on the line on the Honda Lincoln hotline. Branch, what's up?
Starting point is 00:06:41 What's up? Hey, I'm going to say Joe Flacco. It is not Joe Flacco. Nice of gas. We'll keep it moving. It is not dofer. People forget Joe Flacko's elite. He's elite.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Don't disrespect Joe Flacko like that. It is not Eli. My man's got a massive contract after that. I will tell you that dude threw for 119 yards. Let's go to Jason. Jason is on the Honda Lake. Jason, what's up? Hey, what's on?
Starting point is 00:07:07 Do you, Rico. Good morning. What's up? Jumping Jim McMahon. It is not Jim McMahon. It is not. That is the direction I would have gone. It is not Brad Johnson, Big Slim.
Starting point is 00:07:17 It is not Richie Rich. It is not Aaron Rogers. Ohio Russell. Ohio Husker got it. Oh, Ohio Husker, do you have a square? I'm not sure if you...
Starting point is 00:07:27 He may or may not. I know Dusty already does, so Dusty can't wait, but Dusty not right. Greg is on the Honda League and High Line. Greg, what's up? Hey, not much. Did you give an answer for that?
Starting point is 00:07:38 If you get it right, if you get it right, I'll give you a square. Bart Star? No, it is not. Gus, no, it is not Adrian Martinez. You know what, Gus? You know what, Gus?
Starting point is 00:07:50 I just wrote yours down. what to rip it up. It is not. It is not. It is not Drew Brees. Ohio Husker already has a square. Duke says it is Doug Williams. It is not. Monty got it right. Monty Rasmuth. I'm going to get and Monty doesn't have a square because I don't remember. So I'm going to give Mart. I'm going to give Monty one and Marshall is on the Honda Lincoln hotline. Marshall, what's up? How's going? It's good. What's up? What's up? I'm not say Cam Newton. No, it is not Cam Newton. It is not These are good guesses, though. Oh, they're going big.
Starting point is 00:08:23 I kind of dig this. Monti gets a winner. You got it right. All of these guesses makes sense. Like if you think about the Super Bowl, but then again, Cam didn't win the Super Bowl MVP. Ah, right, right, right. Because he lost and didn't want to pick up a fumble. Lane.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Lane, Lane, is on the Honda Lincoln hotline. Lane, what's up? What's up, GP? What's happening? What's your, what's your guess? Roger Staubach. It is. Ding, ding, ding.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Sawback. Well done. Well done. Well done. Well done. Here we go. Hold on. You get this. Great. Now, stay locked and loaded. I'm not done with y'all today. I'm not done. I'm going to give away more squares. Here's how we're going to do it. Super Bowl question. Here it is. It's coming up. I'm going to give you the stats. I'm going to give you the stats. And you just give me the player. All right. So let's the here it is. We ready? Hopefully I know the player. what Super Bowl MVP has thrown for the most touchdowns in the same in that Super Bowl game? Oh. Most touchdown passes thrown in that game. Give me the first three answers. Give me the first three right answers get squares. Super Bowl MVP.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Huh. I don't know this one. Most touchdown passes. I have a guess. And we have not talked about. him today. Oh, then no I don't. We have not talked about him today.
Starting point is 00:10:04 Ohio Husker, you just won a square so you can't get it. It's Ohio Husker, right? 1515 is right. Hey, 1515. 15. 15. 15.
Starting point is 00:10:11 15 is right. 1515 a square, though. Well, 3802 is right. 3802 is right. No, I would get 1515 to square. So 1515 is getting a square now. Yeah. So 1515 gets a square.
Starting point is 00:10:25 3802 gets a square and 3291 gets a square. Now it'll be the next. So those next three. And then the person who calls the Honda Lincoln Hotline and gets it right. You have to call in to get this one right, this extra square. Okay. So 1515, 3802 and 1828? Yes. And then James is on the Honda
Starting point is 00:10:48 of Lincoln Hotline. We've given all the text ones away. Now we need you on the hotline. James, what's up? Uh, not much, man. It's Roger the Dodger. That was on the previous question. The recent question is most touchdown pass is thrown by a Super Bowl MVP quarterback in that Super Bowl. What quarterback was it?
Starting point is 00:11:14 Tom Brady. Nope. No. No. Sorry about it. We're in the neighborhood, though. I'm going to get all these names. We're in the neighborhood.
Starting point is 00:11:23 People are texting so much. We're in the neighborhood. Well, that's why I'm telling them a call. now. So that would be. And my computer just went wonky. All right. Mike D. You got your square. Don't yell at me. Let's bring in Corey. Corey is on the Honda League and High Line. Corey, what's up? What's up? What's your answer? Steve Young.
Starting point is 00:11:44 That out boy. That a boy. Get it done. Get it done. Get it done. Get it done. All right. So we'll give away some more squares because I think we have like 20 a giveaway. Yeah, I'll go count it during the next break. Yeah, we'll get it. We'll get an update and go through all of it. So the timing is good. I love, and thank you guys for engaging. Now, you guys, I want you guys to call in and tell me why your Valentine is,
Starting point is 00:12:14 Valentine is the best Valentine. What makes them the best Valentine? Somebody texted in and said, because she's put up with me for however many years. While that might be valid, we still need. Come on. I need something from the heart. Like, I need something that makes me feel. Like, well, yeah. Like, I need for you guys to sell me. Sell. Sell me and Rico on why you have the best Valentine.
Starting point is 00:12:42 And this is your chance to call in, give me tribute. Remember, this is being recorded. And if it's really good, what we'll do for you is we'll clip that. We'll clip this as a testimony for you that you will be able to share with your Valentine today. Babe, I love you so much that I did this for you on the radio. And we will clip it for you. Rico will clip it for you and get it out to you. And you can share it and say, this is how much I care.
Starting point is 00:13:11 I think this will be good. And we'll put together a Beatrice Bakery care package. You know, when you say when you think of love and I care, Beatrice's Bakery is what you should think about. So Mark is lining it up. 42464. 5685. Jay, Jay is on the Honda League and Hotline. Jay, what's up? What's up, fellas? How are you?
Starting point is 00:13:34 We're good. We're good. So what makes your Valentine the best Valentine? Okay. So my wife has always been and always will be my best Valentine because I have a bit of an alpha personality and it's never phased her. She knows how to deal with me. We've been together for 25 years since we turned 21 years old. She's always through thick and thin. She's always stayed with me, helped me through tough times as I've progressed with my career and she's moved through hers. I had two sons when we met.
Starting point is 00:14:10 She embraced those two. They love her to death. They reference her as Step Cindy, which is my wife's name. We have two sons now. My wife was a basketball player. at Dome and she coaches both my boys, helps them with basketball. She'll go out and throw BP to my oldest son, who's a baseball player. She works from home, and it's just constantly running the kids back and forth to school
Starting point is 00:14:39 to lunch, practices, dealing with me when I come home with my stress, helping me get me through my problems. she's extremely thoughtful with her gifts, the things that she does, the things that with getting up in the morning, make sure breakfast are ready, trying to make time to go out and meet me for lunch. I just, she's an amazing woman. Everyone around her loves her. She's always willing to help whoever needs it whenever.
Starting point is 00:15:10 She's great with my parents. She always has been. I'm not overly fond of my in-laws. is a lot of people aren't, and she's tolerant of that. And I just, she's one of the best people I've ever met in my life. And I wouldn't be where I'm at today. I wouldn't have advanced in my career. And I'd probably be in jail if without my wife.
Starting point is 00:15:31 She's made me a better person. And that's why she's, I think she's the best Valentine and always will be. Jay, sit tight. We'll put you on hold. Rico, if you had to give that a score, what would you give that? You know, it was moving up. It was a nine. As it went on, it was moving up and moving up, and it got to about a nine and a half.
Starting point is 00:15:51 And then he mentioned the in-laws, and it dropped to about an eight. About an eight. Mark, where do you score this one? Yeah, that's a really good argument. She loves my family and she's okay. That I don't love hers. That's fine. It was so good.
Starting point is 00:16:04 So what would you give that on a one to ten? Don't judge me on honesty. One to ten. I'm a harder scaler than Rico is, but we're going to give you like seven and a half. That's a bar right now. Okay. That's fair. Okay, all right. So, Jay, sit tight. Marcy, Marcy, is on the Honda Ligginah. Marcy, what's up?
Starting point is 00:16:25 Hello? Marcy. Marcy, Marcy, what's up? Oh, I'm just driving to the store, trying to get Valentine's gifts and listening to you guys. So what makes your Valentine the best? Well, we are retired, so we don't have all of the running around the kid issues, but he went and got gas for me in my car and washed my car. yesterday. That's a pretty good move. That's a baller move. Nope.
Starting point is 00:16:50 That's a baller move. You can't take it care of me. How long have you got, how long have you been together? We have been married for 10 years. Oh, this is, so, so he's in it for the long haul then. This is, this is it. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Yes. Second time around for both of us and was worth the wait. Rico, I'll ask you, have you filled the car with gas and done these things for Rachel? Many a time. Okay. So what do you grade this? What score do you give this? So he filled the car with gas, washed your car. Did he bring you any snacks back from the gas station? Oh, no, but he did bring me flowers.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Okay, so the flowers move it up a bit. I'm going to go with about a 7-6. Okay, Mark? Mark? The car wash is a good move because I'll run through the car wash, but I'm not washing a car wash. but I'm not washing a car. Right? Like this is a ball. Like that's a good move.
Starting point is 00:17:49 That's a good move. And flowers. And flowers. Flowers moved up. And gas. Were the gas station flowers? Hey, gas station flowers are good. No, okay.
Starting point is 00:17:58 So he actually did work. He did work. Multiple stops. Right. That's good. That's good. I still, I've got, I've got Jay a notch above. I've got this one at about a seven.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Okay. You know what? Above seven works. Both Jay and Marcy. If you guys can get by the station, let us know. We'll put together care. packages for your valentines. Very worthy.
Starting point is 00:18:20 So Tom is on the Honda of Lincoln Hotline. Let's go to Tom. Tom, what's up? Hey, Tom, what's up? Hey, how are you doing? We're good. We're good. What makes your Valentine the best? Well, I'll be going to tell you how stuff
Starting point is 00:18:35 from my Valentine is. We have been together actually tomorrow will be 40 years. And another thing that I'm going to tell you is she was the catalyst of my sobriety for the last four years. And at one point here, about three, four years ago, her coworker and one of her best friends was dying of a kidney failure. And my wife gave up her kidney for her and pretty much saved her life.
Starting point is 00:19:07 When I say that my wife will do anything for anybody, if the God's honest truth. and other than that, you know, whenever I do something that's in the wrong, she seems how to, you know, doesn't really complain about it that lets me know things could always be worse. And, you know, I just, I wouldn't be anywhere in the world without her. And again, like I say, 40th anniversary, tomorrow we got married at 20. I was a jock at Northeast and she was a starstredder. the first time I seen her marching out on the floor,
Starting point is 00:19:44 I was like, I've got to marry that girl. So that's what I got from my wife. And I love her to death. Thank you. Jay's, don't go anywhere. Don't go anywhere. Tom. I mean, Tom.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Don't. Tom, you got a call back so we can get your particulars, right? Like, we got to get you. We got to get it. Is there higher than a 10? Yeah, we need to get Tom. Tom, you got a call back, brother, so we can get your information. I mean, she gave up a kid.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Yeah, literally giving us. of your organs is something. Now, I do have questions, though. I want to know whose idea was to get married two days before Valentine's Day. And whether that's a great idea or a terrible idea, I don't know. I think it's a great idea. Just lump it all together. You don't have to get anything.
Starting point is 00:20:27 So do you get away with just one gift then? No, you double up. You have to double up. You double up, but it's a fun double up because Valentine's, you get dinner, you can do candy. That's true. And I suppose it goes both ways. Yeah, yeah. Like, it's a win-win.
Starting point is 00:20:41 Like you're getting stuff too It's not like a birthday Where it's all one-sided Right like it's a win Oh we don't do gifts for Valentine's Day We watch Our very first date was on Valentine's Day And it was a movie that
Starting point is 00:20:51 For okay first off I didn't even think about the fact That it was Valentine's Day When I asked her out on this date We went and saw a movie It was a zombie movie Turns out it was a zombie movie That was like Romeo and Juliet
Starting point is 00:21:04 But with a zombie So we bought that Was that really a thing? Yeah it was A zombie Zombie Romeo and Juliet? Yeah. Is that a thing?
Starting point is 00:21:14 Is your first date on Valentine's Day? Didn't even think about the fact that it's around last day? No, but. It's called, it's called Warm Bodies. Okay. Now, I'm definitely leaning in. What? Are they named Romeo and Juliet?
Starting point is 00:21:29 His name is, he's a zombie. Like she, so he, so he is a zombie. She is not, and she kind of gets separated from her group, and he, like, takes her in and, like, protects her. and she's like, you're different than all the other zombies. Like, you don't want to eat me, whatever. And she's like, what's your name? And he, like, tries to talk.
Starting point is 00:21:47 And he's just like, er. And she's like, oh, R. Your name is R. Her name is Juliet. Uh-huh. So his name is R. Her name is Juliet. So it's not Capulets and Montague.
Starting point is 00:21:56 No. Well, it kind of is because it's alive people and dead people. And their families just won't accept it. Well, her dad. We never date the dead around here. Her dad is just straight up like, we need to kill all zombies. And she's like, but they're different. Look, you're a deadest.
Starting point is 00:22:09 You're a deadest. Like, there's like a level above zombie that like their skin just like falls off and they're just like skeletons that are just like evil and they just want to kill everything. Well, because they lost their skin too. So then the zombies want to are helping the humans fight the skeleton. We have a common enemy. And then we all live in peace. But the zombies are turning back into humans and they don't know why. It's because they.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Because of love. Yeah. Love. Their hearts start to beat again. Love's true kiss. Exactly. Oh, no. I have another bad movie to watch.
Starting point is 00:22:38 It's actually not terrible. From Tom's beautiful story. To Rico's Valentine's Day. Because you said Valentine's Day and like getting presents and stuff. Yeah, this is my fault. We don't really get gifts. We just watched that movie because we bought the movie. So we watched it every Valentine's Day. Mark, what is your, what was your, your first date? Oh, I don't. I mean, we were in high school.
Starting point is 00:22:59 It would, it'd be hard to say what our first like actual date was. Was it a movie? Was it sitting on the front porch? The one I remember most vividly is like our first one was going to the The now-defunct Star City Parade, you know, Christmas Parade that went through downtown Lincoln. Did that, got hot chocolate, and then we ended up at Burger King and sat at Burger King for like three hours, just chatting and hanging out. You just knew. Yeah. So do you get a teary eye every time you drive by a Burger King?
Starting point is 00:23:27 Every time I drive by that now defunct Burger King? Yeah. He's like, mm-hmm. Thank you, Burger King. The Burger King by the State Penn. It's a good one. It's like shout out to the King. Yeah, you get him a crown.
Starting point is 00:23:38 And that's what he did for anniversary. Every time. First date, baby, Burger Team Crown. You should do that. Love you. And, well, there will be no whopper jokes here. We'll throw it to break. When we come back, more Super Bowl squares, we'll prepare Super Bowl Friday
Starting point is 00:23:53 and talk about the home and garden events this weekend. Download our app by searching 93.7. The ticket in your app store. You're listening to one-on-one with DP on 937 the ticket in the ticket FM.com. Thank you.
