Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to One-on-One with DP. Brought to you by Beatrice Bakery. On 93-7 The Ticket and the Ticket FM.com. Put on your face paint. Tie some strings to your biceps. Find some undersized wristbands to make everything move, hair moose yourself to oblivion. Sprint to the ring.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Shake the ring ropes. Speak. Speak to the warrior gods. The ultimate warrior It was weird And he couldn't say warrior I'm sorry, what? What do you?
Starting point is 00:00:44 Sir? This is a Walmart. What is going on? This is a Wendy's. The Huskers just hit a home run. Round tripper, baby. 5-0 in the top of the 7th. Just hit an Apo Taco.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Other way, baby, get it in. Well done. No, that was from earlier. It's 4-0-0-Huskers. Let's go to the Honolinkin Hotline. Tyler, Tyler's up first. Tyler, what's up? Hey, how are you doing? Good. What's your guess?
Starting point is 00:01:13 Von Miller. Von Miller had two and a half sacks six tackles, but he wasn't this guy. This guy was before Von Miller, two sacks, two force fumbles. Let's go to Nate. Nate, what's up? I had Von Miller also. Oh, Von was two and a half sacks.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Two and a half sacks. He had six tackles. This player, Super Bowl MVP, two sacks, two forced fumbles. I don't think anybody's, it's going to be a while. It shouldn't be because, again, we stuck to the defensive side of the ball. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Dale, Dale, is on the Honda League and out of line. Dale, what's up? Good morning, gentlemen. What's your guest? What's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, how about Richard Dent? Ada boy, Dale. Outta boy.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Outta boy. Well done. Well done. We'll get your Super Bowl score. Get you hooked up. Well done. Yeah, that's like... Richard Dent.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Richard Dent. The 46 defense. And they literally could have given it to several, any one of the five. My pet peeve about that Super Bowl, first of all, the Bears rolled the Patriots. Like, they rolled Tony East and the Patriots. But this was... This Super Bowl was the coronation for Walter Pate. Right.
Starting point is 00:02:41 And his first Super Bowl opportunities, and the Bears got down to the one-yard line. And they took Walter Paten out and gave the ball to Fridge Perry for the touchdown. They refrigerated. And Walter Paden standing on the sideline. I'd be kind of mad. Yeah. Like, I'd be happy because we won.
Starting point is 00:03:07 but I'd be mad because I am the one. I am the guy. I am Neo. Don't do that. I should have got it. How does, I've never had that experience. I've never had that experience. I'm sure you've had it at least once where you do all the work getting down to the goal line.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Oh, I've talked to somebody else scores. I've talked to Barry Thompson on these airwaves about that very thing. Right. So we ran, we ran the wishbone. and Barry was a left-handed dual threat. So Barry, Barry, rocket arms. Like, he was Michael Vick before Michael Vick. Barry put his, I mean, like Sprinter, Barry,
Starting point is 00:03:45 I think Barry averaged eight yards of carry that year at quarterback. We didn't throw it much because we were just big and powerful. I mean, we had a huge. You didn't need to throw it. But we would have game-breaking plays. And so the biggest game of the year, for whatever reason, they put me on the shelf and wasn't using me until we got down 15 nothing. And Barry finally just goes to coach, goes, what are we doing?
Starting point is 00:04:10 Why is Derek not being utilized? And they're like, okay, here we go. And so third quarter, Barry says, okay, they send plays in and Barry goes, no, man, just run the crosser. And we'll run the crosser from either side until they figure it out. Run the crosser goes for, I think it goes for 30, comes back and he goes, okay, they're sitting on the crosser now. let's screw it, let's go with the downout and up. And this corner was awesome, I knew I had him. Like it was money.
Starting point is 00:04:40 40 yards, down to the two. Like I fight and scramble to get down there. Down to the two. Celebrate. I'm like, Barry, you know, I'm going to be in the backfield. No, I'm going to go to the back field. We're on the option and it'll be money. I look in the senior running back who was like,
Starting point is 00:04:59 he comes running on the field. and I'm just standing there with my hands on my hips. Like, ain't this some bleep? Like, this is some bleep. And Barry looks at me and he's like, man, you got to go to the sideline. You got to go to the sideline. And it took them three plays. So the first two plays, they didn't get in.
Starting point is 00:05:16 They didn't get in. And I met. Oh, Rico, look, look, look, steam is coming off the afro. Like, I'm just like, it's at night and I am pissed. Anger. Like, just pissed. And so, if I was, Pearson, get back in the game, go back a game, but they put me in this, like, they don't even put me in the running,
Starting point is 00:05:34 at running back. They put me back at Flanker. And I'm like, I actually kind of hoped they didn't score because I was, no, I get that. That doesn't make you a bad person. Right. Like, I felt, I felt really bad. And Barry goes, don't worry, if we don't get in this time, we'll go to you.
Starting point is 00:05:52 And I was like, okay. But Barry will always talk about from 20 to 20, I was his guy. But inside the 20, it was all about ball security. And he didn't want to pitch it. So he would just take it himself. That makes sense. Like he would pitch and I'd get hit and he would pump fagin and take it in the end zone. I'm just like, very times I hate you so much.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Don't touch me. Like, you know, I love you, but I hate you so much right now. Did anybody on the text line get Richard Dent? No. Even after hearing the answer, nobody texted it in. Oh, no, guys, the answer is Richard Dent. Text it in if you don't have a square and you'll get a square. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Yeah, right? We have one to give away. want to read this text real quick. Hey, DP, what's up? My Valentine's Day story is after 43 years of marriage.
