You're listening to one-on-one with D.P.
Sponsored by Mary Ellen's Food for the Soul on 93-7 The Ticket and the Ticketfm.com.
Okay, Rico, I'll give you a pass today because we have company.
But normally this is where we dance on Fridays.
This is where we dance.
So, you know, we'll get through this week.
Next time.
Next time.
Or maybe to close out.
You'll find something to close out with.
We end Fridays in a mood.
What's your go-to?
Like, if you're by yourself and the song comes on, you're going to dance like nobody's watching.
What's your song?
Jack and Diane.
That's a good one.
That's actually pretty good.
It's a pretty good video because he dances well to it.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, okay, I can get behind that.
Nobody's around.
I want to dance with somebody.
Really?
So Whitney just does that.
I guess, I guess.
Like, just sends it out, right?
Most sports have, there's a lot of music to it.
golf doesn't have that.
Like, we don't get to see your personalities, like we get to see for other sports.
How are we going to, your show is going to be you figuring out how to show people
the personal side of you rather than just the golfer side.
Like, they can get reports on how you're hitting it and that sort of stuff.
But what's going to make them tune in and care is knowing the person.
So that sort of stuff, like your music that you select, I'll expect full movie reviews during your show.
What you're watching, what you're streaming, whatever you're binging.
I need all that information.
And then just here's a little caveat that this thing has a life of its own.
Most of the student athletes show, no, actually all of the student athletes show.
They either sing or do karaoke.
They pick a karaoke song.
It doesn't have to be good.
I can tell you that football players are terrible singers and they have no problem singing karaoke.
singing with it.
Like they have no.
So if you don't want to sing, then find teammates or family that will sing.
Perfect.
We'll work something out.
Right.
Right. Somebody that's there.
Eric says this.
I definitely appreciate what you're doing these student athletes.
Keep it up and good luck hitting the sticks, ladies.
Again, the text line, this is they've been waiting for you, even if you didn't know they were waiting for you.
They've been waiting for you.
I apologize in advance for Versaun.
I knew it was going to happen.
Did I, was I wrong?
No, you're wrong.
Like he comes in and consumes the room and this is just a part of it.
He's going to challenge you to a golf challenge.
Just take him out there and abuse him so he never does it again.
Like, that's the only way to shut him up is just to take him out there and then turn the camera on.
Make sure the camera's on because he's going to come back and say he did really well.
I need you guys to tell him no.
No, you did not.
Who's the funniest person on the team?
I would say Vanessa.
Yeah, 100%.
Yeah.
Vanessa Bouvet.
Okay.
What makes her funny?
She just does whatever she wants.
She's free.
She's a very free-minded person.
She just, you know, when it comes to anything, parking, she'll park where she wants to park.
She'll make her own spot.
Yep.
On the golf course.
So she's familiar with Lancaster County.
She is.
Exactly.
She's not a big second-guessing person.
No.
You know, she's not a huge analytical person,
which I think coming from us, too,
we're a little bit more analytical-minded.
So seeing her do that, it's great.
I love it.
Love playing with her.
She approaches golf the same way.
She just is.
If she wants to hit driver, she'll hit driver.
Yeah.
I mean, she'll do whatever she wants to do.
Yeah, that's the other part.
Your favorite club?
What is your favorite club?
Mine's my eight iron.
It's just very trusting.
I know it's going to go straight.
True.
Yep.
Yeah.
nine iron for me
unless I'm hitting my driver super
well. It meant to be my driver
but that might change it a little bit.
Do you spend time at a driving range?
Do you ever just go and vent?
Just let it rip and get free?
Yeah.
Or does that other thing in the back of your head,
the other part of your brain say,
no, no, we wouldn't do this.
We never would do this in a match.
So probably not.
I would say sometimes, but the thing with that is if we go to a driving range,
there's always going to be that golfer side of us that's trying to work on something.
So like I went to top golf a few weeks ago with some friends,
and it's just so it's so hard to do that.
It's, I think that is with any athlete if you just go and try and play pickup basketball.
If you're a basketball player, you're always going to be trying to perfect something
and work on something, even if you're in a fun atmosphere.
So driving ranges are a little bit like that.
So if RICO challenged you, there's no nice.
There's no challenge. I'm not I'm not good. This this is the first time that he's an athlete came football players coming here. He goes he'll look up because he obviously he'll look up and he'll go I could beat you at something. Okay. Yeah, we didn't hear that from him. I'm not good at all. When I was in college, when I was in college, I was a driving range like behind my house where I lived for and I would go there once while and I'm not good.
Like it's fun.
It's just not good.
Every once in a while, I'll hit one.
And I'm like, yeah.
I can do this.
And then the very next one goes like into the trees.
And I'm like, yep, nope, never mind.
This is the first time.
I'm giving you this.
You have humbled him already.
So today is a success.
No, them and the swimmers.
Yeah.
Can't do that.
Well, that's only because the swimmers told you they spit in a pool.
No, it wasn't.
It was, look, I'll go down once and then I'm done.
Yeah.
Yeah, swimming a mile or diving off a 10 meter.
Could not do that.
No.
Not happening.
Although, I am going to challenge you guys.
If you're up for it, I'm going to send you to report on other women's sports.
Yeah, we can do that.
I think that'll be spectacular.
Let's do it.
So let the folks know how to find you on social media, and we'll tell them what's next.
Yeah.
All right.
For me, it's just, it's pretty simple all across the board.
I think it's just Lindsay Teal, first and last name.
On Twitter, I think there's a two after my name.
But, yeah, very simple, no punctuation or anything like that.
Mine's Megan Witt, not my whole last name, and then 22 for all of my social media.
Okay, so fair enough.
All right.
Ladies, I, again, I'm looking forward to this.
And I think this is a great introduction to the fans and them to you.
And I think this has legs and you guys are going to do well.
Yeah, we're excited.
We're excited to show our personalities a little bit.
You're going to do that lot in golf.
Yeah, right?
Like, there's no dancing allowed.
That's what we need.
You know, when you win your next championship, you're just...
Okay, okay.
Yeah, we've got to have a celebration in tour.
Thank you guys.
And again, have your parents reach out because we want to make sure they're on board
and to do what we do, and they should be your first guest.
Because they know the real story.
Oh, yeah.
Yes, they do.
Yeah.
Megan Lindsay, thank you guys.
Hey, don't go anywhere on the ticket.
The Captain Show, Roshan Jackson, up next on a Friday.
And the grill out.
The parking lot is happening.
Stop by.
to eat here.
We'll be here all day.
Enjoy your Friday.
Oh yeah, those three words.
Go Big Ray.
Thank you.
