Starting point is 00:00:02 You're listening to One-on-One with DP, sponsored by Mary Ellen's Food for the Soul, on 93-7 the Ticket and the Ticketfm.com. Yeah. Yeah. That's a jam. That is, listen. Everything on purpose. Everything on purpose, Anthony Lionheart Smith. Look, it's everything, and I look forward to the next one, just because I know how,
Starting point is 00:00:38 good you are at breaking down humans, skills, life skills, and dealing with friction. And it crosses over. We failed to talk Huskers because I want to know what you think about Matt Rule in the football program. Yeah, I, you know, what do you love most about Matt Rule? What has you on team, team rule?
Starting point is 00:01:00 We can, I mean, we could, of course, we could get into the X's and the O's and what it looks like on the field. He's really good at managing people. he's really good at managing people and he seems to really care and it's not like a fake this is my job this is what i have to do he just really cares about this program and he's i would say 90% of the success of a program is a coach figuring out how to get the best out of his players mark montoya can talk to me for 10 minutes and i will be ready to run through a wall for that man i'll do whatever you say coach i'll do whatever you say i'll run head first
Starting point is 00:01:37 do that well. If that's what you, if that's what's going to give us success, that's what I'll do. That's, that's what Matt Rule is to the Nebraska program. He's, he, he makes people want to play hard for him. And that, that's how, that's most of the battle. You're telling me that Nebraska doesn't have the physical talent that every other division one program, every Power 5 school has, whether that's all the resources, whether that's Alabama or, or any of these SEC teams. Like, we have the physical, we have the presence. We have the talent. Now, after that, it's how do we get them to play together well?
Starting point is 00:02:13 What's the, what's the best style of football that we're going to play for this group of kids that we have? Like, how do you get them in sync? And then how do you get them to care? We need to get you in front of that football team. I would love that. Yeah, we need. Yeah, you got to, that's really what it's about. It's about managing people.
Starting point is 00:02:31 you also are present. Husker Hoops. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm just, I'm Husker anything. If I knew where the bowling team played, I'd go. Oh, we're going to make that happen to. Wherever they, wherever they're swinging them balls at, I'm going. I'm going.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Look, listen, I know Clempa's listening. I know Coach Clemper is listening. That program is exceptional. I'll support them. Yep, whatever it is, I'll support them. I don't. And I also have an artist for you. wants to take some pictures of you and create some art.
Starting point is 00:03:04 Ooh, I like that. She's right down the road here. Pretty amazing along the way. I need your Mount Rushmore, kind, sir. UFC, it can be male or female or both. I don't particularly care. But if you want to identify to aliens what the UFC is. See, that's a different question.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Okay. The Mount Rushmore and what? The best to have done it and then the best, we could go into the art, the different skills? Oh, no, not even. Okay. John Jones deserves to be on that Mount Rushmore. But I won't put him on there because of the failed test. Anderson Silva deserves to be on there.
Starting point is 00:03:43 So if we're just talking, what do you want to show people? Like what is the Mount Rushmore people that you want to educate them about what beautiful mixed martial arts is? It's John Jones, Anderson Silva, GSP. Any one more, huh? See, I would love to put I would love to put any of the Gracies on there. Any of them could be on there.
Starting point is 00:04:12 But then I feel like we're losing Chris Cyborg. Deserves a spot. Is it Cyborg over Amanda? In terms of greatest of all time for females, no. Amanda Minas is the greatest female combat athlete of all time.
Starting point is 00:04:31 That's, and that's above. Or that's above. That's above. That's above Le La Le La Leigh, that's above. Ooh, that's good. That's above all of that. That's a good boy. The greatest female combat sports athlete of all time is Amanda Nunes.
Starting point is 00:04:45 But there is no Amanda Nunes if there is no Chris Cyborg. Chris Cyborg created the foundation on which these other women were able to stand on. Everyone wants to give it to Rhonda Rousey. Chris Cyborg was 30 professional fights in when Rhonda Rousey decided to lace up a pair of gloves. Chris Cyborg has been doing this. She has, it's still doing it. Still fighting, still winning. Still evolving.
Starting point is 00:05:08 She has two losses. One was like her first fight in like the 90s. And Amanda Nunes while she was aging. Chris Seibor is not young either. Like people forget. And she's boxing now. She's in her 40s. She's boxing now, throwing hands and taking out contenders.
Starting point is 00:05:24 She created a platform for these people, for these other women. There's, until Rhonda Rousey came around, Chris Seiborg was the only female. mixed martial artist than anybody can name. Like I know that there's others that came along that that came even some some Midwest girls that are now on the WWE and and your Leslie Smith's and and a lot of them are starting to retire now. But Chris Cyborg paved that way for them.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Chris Seiberg paved the way for Rhonda Rousey and paved the way for Amanda Nunes and pass the torch. Here's the greatest co-sign ever. Eric, Eric on the text line, he and I go back and forth all the time. because he he constantly, constantly, incessantly screams GSP as the goat. And I tell him, no, there's one goat. His name is John.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Everything else falls in line because if you lose to who you lose to for GSP, you know, I mean, we always pass over Mighty Mouse, too. I'd love to meet you. I'd love to meet you so much. Yeah, I love Demetri's doctor, too. The problem is the strength of schedule. He is in terms of who was the best mixed martial artists of all time in terms of their actual skill set.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Yeah. And what they were able to do, it's Demetri's Johnson. There's nobody close. There's nobody close. But you have to take into the count of the strength of schedule. Where are you off to next after surgery? Wait, wait, wait, what was this text about?
Starting point is 00:06:42 What did he say? Well, he just, GSP is the goat. No way. See? No way. Eric? He's a close second. But it is John Jones.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Eric, go to your room. I mean, you can go through John Jones's record. He's beat like four different generations of fighters. Right. He was beating the guys that were there when he came in. He beat the guys ahead of him and took the title, beat the guys that were in his generation at the time that were they were good and now he's on to a different generation it's crazy where are you next you at the surgery you're going to take
Starting point is 00:07:11 I'm off I got a six week break okay so I'm I'm not back until the Chicago pay-per-view well I won't be a nuisance much you're right that's a lie Anthony Leigh-Hart Smith thank you guys sir for Husker nation don't go anywhere the Hall of Famer the black shirt throw Farley Ian Bach will take you through to three o'clock Thank you, kind of, sir. I greatly appreciate you, bro. It's been a great one as expected. Don't go any more more ticket.
