Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to one-on-one with DP. Brought to you by Beatrice Bakery. On 937 The Ticket and the Ticket FM.com. Paint your face. We should get some headphones. Put some strings on your arm. Get tassels running off your bicep. Oh, sir.
Starting point is 00:00:22 And sprint like a madman. Warrior. To face your demons. Grab the ropes. and shake them. The captain show with the captain. Kyle Perry for Sean Jackson, Rico will finish out one-on-one and hand it over to the captain show, let him do his thing. I tried to warn Kyle Perry about the force that he was about to face.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Inspirational, man. Oh, I love it. I love it. I want to run through a freaking brick wall. See? Right? Right. It's infectious.
Starting point is 00:01:07 That's the thing. Right? That's a gift. That is an incredible gift. Yes. Thank you for bringing it here. You're able to touch. Heat up.
Starting point is 00:01:14 Go. How many pregame talks you're going to give to the baseball team? I'm ready. You know who this looks? You know who this looks? I'm ready. This is like, this is like Rocky and Apollo. 100%.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Fist bumping and just going, oh. I am ready. Drago, this is not. Mr. Clever language. Clever lang, this is not good, bro. This is not going to end well for you. Obviously, you're Rocky.
Starting point is 00:01:35 All right, I'm just wanted to make sure. You see the build on this guy? You see the build on this guy? I'm going to take the roll. Hey, Drew. No, you're late, Rocky. You're, you're Rocky. You're Rocky six, Rocky.
Starting point is 00:01:49 I was trying to figure out who's here in the cell, but. Smoking on a C2D. He's back. Look at there's not, look at there's not frozen meat hanging in here for you. you to bang on turkey baby so frozen bang in the turkey right here oh fantastic so it's it's it's baseball season yeah like this you know no slight to to to anything else but the big 10 champs are here and it's time and you guys head to texas you're ready for it give in your mind how does this weekend go like what do you what do you what do you guys want to have to
Starting point is 00:02:31 Well, I don't want to freaking, I've already said, if we put everything we got to do and we can do every weekend, I don't, I can't see us losing a game, but it is baseball. Right. So that's inevitably going to happen one way or the other. But so, I mean, I don't see us losing this weekend, but it's baseball and baseball things happen. I mean, I really don't know, man. I'm so excited. Without answering the question, will we see you Friday or Saturday? I told you. We're going to find that. We're going to find that. We're going to find that out. here this probably this afternoon. Okay. And hopefully I can come in tomorrow with a solid answer. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Okay. The one I'm hoping for, but, you know, whatever happens, happens. Pitcher? Yeah. Yeah. What's your best pitch? All of them. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Love it. Stop it. Love it. Give me your best. If you, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, you're O two. Right? Basketball. Two strikes.
Starting point is 00:03:26 There's two strikes. Yeah, you're 02. It's the bottom of the knife. And we're up. Up two to one. Oh, fastball. Heater. Bring it on, baby.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Yes. How fast? Throw the heater. How fast was that? Well, usually I just ask, I answer that question with enough. But I mean, it really depends. I've seen myself, I've seen myself get up to 93. So I want to say that's what I'm at.
Starting point is 00:03:51 But usually it's, you know, it's 88 to 91 on a really good day. Yeah. So, but that's okay. I'm lefty. Fast enough. Fast enough. You drop a 93. from the left side.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Yeah. Yeah, that's odd. It's cool. It's cool. It's hot. Coming in hot. Yeah. And I never, and so, like, the way they pick it up, and this is, this goes with your
Starting point is 00:04:11 analytics. It's like, it's a high spin, high spin rate fastball. Yep. So it stays a bit. Okay. Late movement. So it stays on plane. So when I release it and I'm releasing it here, right?
Starting point is 00:04:23 So it's coming here. And so if it keeps that plane and spins, it's almost like it rises. So that means? make sense? What would that call a fast rise? Rising fastball. You can't even ride. You can't, it's, it's in your eyes. It's in your eyes. And you see it early and you think, I see it better. I can get my hands to it. And then it runs on you. It takes on it. And it's harder to raise, elevate your hands than it is to lower them. So a rising fastball is a problem because dudes are just going to swing all over the place. Yeah. I think you guys answer this question, but I want the
Starting point is 00:04:58 question answered is it harder i'm quite sure it's extremely hard to hit a lefty yeah that's like yeah lefties are valued well so like this is this is like a running thing like so say you got a a a righty throwing 95 like you know bueno and then you got a you know a lefty throw an 88 and you know spotting up his pitches and you know and so like they almost like a scout will maybe see that more valuable than a, you know, a flame-go- Right. Right. Well, right-handers that can throw 95 or a dime a dozen. Right. Left-handers.
Starting point is 00:05:34 They're witches. Left-handers. They're witches. Left-handers. Magical unicorns. You mean wizards. Wizzards. Not witches. No, no. Witches. Because I can't say the other word. I can't say the other baseball. Baseball witches. There you go. Now you got it. Now he's got it. He's not wrong.
Starting point is 00:05:54 It's a strange return. I'll face the tank. I don't want to face the junk. The junk is, you know, this is, facing Kyle, I would have just said, I got to go try to hit this doo-doo he's thrown. Like that's, that's the one. Like, he's throwing pure doo-doo dudes.
Starting point is 00:06:13 And you don't even want to hit it. No, no, you want to, like, tap out and you want somebody else going to do it. Who's on your show today, bro? You know what? Another three-time national champion, Mike Van Cleave. Oh, nice. Officer lineman.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Big boy. Yeah, we don't give you a little. different flavor. Okay. Well done. Flavers. Well done. Kyle Perry, welcome to the family, baby. That's awesome, man. Thank you for bringing the juice. Hey, what's the, what's the show called? We don't know yet. Captain's corner is where he's leaning.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Listen, it can only be one captain. I did, again, the conversation we had. Hey, what did we call that fastball? Rising fastball. Ooh. Peter. Hey, every son. Do you think you get a hit off him?
Starting point is 00:06:55 Negative. Listen, I'm smart enough to know when I can and when I can't. Now, I heard he was a hooper. I heard he was a hooper. He could get buckets. I heard he was a hooper. He could get buckets. So, you know, the old guy in me wants to be like, challenge the young pup, but I better be quiet.
Starting point is 00:07:14 I would love that. I would love that. We're going to do that. We're going to do that. You and Splashley McSplashley. Ashley McSplashley. Send us the break, would you? Ah.
Starting point is 00:07:26 They're bread, butter.
