Back to one-on-one with D.P.
Sponsored by the Downtown Lincoln Foundation on 93-7 the ticket.
Play the bass.
Drum roll.
Get it.
That's a solo.
Get it.
Get it.
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
A little jammer's for your lunchtime.
A little jammerge for your lunchtime.
Shout out to downtown Lincoln.
for Todd Ogden and folks, and again, we get to see the work outside of the building,
all right, outside our window, up and down O Street where they're trying to make it better.
So we greatly appreciate and look forward to the complete project and see what the full vision is once it's all said.
Dunbach got something for you to read.
What do you got, kind, sir?
Yeah, just a reminder in the pit with Grant Westman Jason Peter will be live from Big Ten Sports Bar and grill from 4 to 6 o'clock coming out with us and prepare for the game on
Saturday, enjoy great food and drinks.
That's in the pit with Jason Peter and Grant Wisdom at Big Tenet Sports Bar and Grill at 10th and P in downtown
Lincoln from 4 to 6 on Friday.
Appreciate it and look forward to it.
If you get a chance, gone on over there, get pictures and autographs with the big guys.
In the pit, no, talk a little ball and get y'all set up for Maryland Saturday afternoon.
Lots to talk about lots in the space.
Shout out to my boy.
He's our boy now.
Johnny Holliday, the voice of the Maryland Terrapins.
trying to get him locked in before the weeks out.
He's a busy man because he has to get,
he still has to get ready for basketball at the same time.
Oh, that's right.
Right.
So there's lots going on.
There's lots going on with the legend.
0159.
We need to get a name in there.
0159.
Get a name, man, so we can call you out.
He says, D.P.
I did not mean to stoke the fire.
But like you said, I could listen to other channels outside of the state,
but I pick you guys because you guys are local and you're the best.
Thank you, sir.
Plus, I love the whole text line.
add the interaction with you guys.
Yeah, that's what it's for.
We're talking with you, not to you,
and we're not talking at you.
It is often just conversational,
listen, if we're having a conversation
and you're not interested, that's one thing.
But we're not going to have a conversation
where you're not considered.
Nothing happens on the ticket
where you're at least not considered.
What blanket joins the conversation?
and says this.
This segment leads me to thank you
for adding Grant and Jason to the lineup.
I was a college student in Lincoln
during the same years that Jason and Grant were at N.U.
I have the outside perspective from that glorious time,
and I love hearing all their perspective on the years
that were special to so many of us.
And that's, again, that's why we're here.
To know what it takes to have that kind of success
and to have that kind of run,
listen, if you get to pull behind that curtain of greatness,
it would be a shame if you didn't,
and quite frankly, it's disrespectful to not.
And it's not living in the past,
but if you do not understand
that you need to copy success
and know what great players with great achievement know,
I mean, listen, when I see a championship ring,
I know I have questions to ask.
I better be curious.
If I don't have three championship rings,
Bach, and I don't ask those three ring folks,
a bunch of questions,
I'm not very smart.
I'm not very intelligent.
And there are people that believe that they know more
than the people with three championship rings.
Hey, to tell you, you don't.
You don't.
You know what you know, but you have no idea
of what you had no idea about.
And it took a lot of work and long game
to get Grand Jason to commit to putting that kind of time.
And if you, listen, if you get a chance
this afternoon from four to six
or any after me from 4 to 6 when they're here to say thank you.
Because again, they got stuff to do.
They have businesses, they have lives,
and they chose to spend those two hours every day with you.
Same for Jay Foreman.
Same for Terrell Farley.
Same from Adam Carrier.
Same from Bill Bush.
For the people to have,
for all these athletes who come on on late nights and on weekends,
say thank you.
It takes you nothing to say thank you to the people on these airways
who know what it's like to be a Husker athlete.
Some know what it's like to win a national championship.
Ridge love it.
He knows what it's like to win a national championship.
Some know what it's like to be an All-American.
Caleb Smith knows what it looks like to be an All-American.
Jillian Martin knows what it's like to be a national champion.
And they share themselves.
And we should just say, thank you.
Greatly appreciate it.
Listen, who knows more about college wrestling and Mark Manny?
Man, I appreciate it.
We've figured out that Jalen Reyes is,
as sharp a volleyball mind as there is in the country.
Mandy Monson, national champion, voice, power.
She's got all of it.
And so we bring them on.
We bring on educators.
Pete Ferguson, come tell us what's going on.
Ashton honor from teammates, tell us what's happening
in the greatest mentor program in the country.
Tell us.
We have people here in town, Jeff and Nicole,
They come every Sunday and tell you, hey, listen, if you're struggling with something, ask us.
You need a place to work out, come get, we'll work with you.
We'll meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be.
Business builders where you can come in and ask questions and be curious.
And my goodness gracious, Bach, now we have a restaurant show that tells you, here are the hot spots
and here are the good chefs and good cooks and here are the great menus.
We have chefs on there, Chubs from Soul Fokina, come on to.
tell you, here's what's going on.
The folks from tipsy tinas, but come on and tell you.
We love the folks from good sense.
You know what?
We're going to feed you good.
Pick your own sandwich.
Pick your own meal.
We got you.
We love what y'all do, so we're going to do this for you.
And when a restaurant calls us and says, hey, what can we do?
And my thing is, I was the, I've been at every level of this business when it comes to a radio
station where I was the interim.
I was the poor kid.
I was the poor adult.
Listen, there were days when I was reporting for work
where I didn't know where the meal was going to come from.
And I made the decision that when I got
ownership of the station that I, and Bach,
you remember this conversation,
I don't want my staff to be hungry.
I don't want Bach spending his money on food.
Take your money home.
Take your money home, spend on your family.
But these meals, I got you.
We got you.
And that's what it's for.
And the restaurants that co-signed to say, hey,
hey, DP, you're right.
We got your staff.
And so they deliver food.
And that's what we do.
That's part of it.
My man, he said the principal's asking me.
He thought I was laying you out, Bach.
I wasn't.
I wasn't.
I wasn't.
look, listen, and why I appreciate Bach Harrison, Austin, Jake, Weirman, Rudy, et cetera, et cetera,
is that they get the daily review with me.
If you sit next to me for a bit, listen, you're going to get challenged.
That's just the way it works.
But here's the thing.
If I sit in front of Bach for two hours a day, shouldn't I make Bach better?
Shouldn't I challenge the way he thinks to get Bach to be the best version of Bach that he could be?
Bach, would you prefer that I coast through two hours with you,
or do you want me to have,
do you want to have a conversation that challenges thinking?
I prefer the letter.
Yeah.
I always say about teachers.
You kind of look back.
At times you get frustrated about the ones that make you work hard,
and then grow up,
you look back and said, you know what,
that teacher gave me the most.
Amen, simple biz.
Billman says this is what makes you the greatest listen in Cornhusker Lane.
I love the ticket.
Thank you, brother.
But that's the mission.
is that no matter where you are, no matter how you listen,
if it's brick and mortar, if you're in the car and you got it on the digital,
or if you have it on your laptop, or you have it on your phone,
you download the app, you jump on on X,
you find us on Facebook, you wait for clips and content,
and then you follow on social media.
Whatever way you consume it, I want you to be able to consume it.
Spotify or Amazon Prime, whatever it is,
whatever way you can consume it or download or enjoy it.
That's what we want.
And that's for Husker fans all over the country.
And you can tell your Husker family,
you know what?
If you want to know what's going on in Husker land,
tune in to the ticket, wherever you are,
whenever you can.
PK all day says, I love the Texan.
We appreciate you, bro.
We appreciate you. Lane says, I really enjoy
all the staff you have, DP.
I think the Jason Green Edition
is a real home run.
Yeah, that's just it.
And to, it's, what do they say,
love the one you with?
I mean, I have a full conference room,
of jersey, signed jerseys from everybody who's ever done a show here.
All the Huskers. Love them all. We take them all back.
But when somebody has grown and they want to move along in the process, we say, go be great.
But I can't leave that two hours open. So what do I do? I need to get you somebody that you want to listen to.
Now, text line, I would ask you if there's somebody you want that's never had a show.
And I'll preface that by saying it's never had a show here.
on the ticket that you would like to listen to.
I'm certainly open to that.
Tell me who it is.
Maybe it's night time.
Maybe it's weekend.
I don't know. We'll see.
Grille Bear, we have 18 hours a day,
but I always have a development squad.
Right, Bach? I mean, that's how Ridge Love it, Caleb,
that's how that happens, right?
Right.
He says,
Missing me,
Do you want your listeners
to not be hungry to?
So here's what's happened.
And I think I'm right in this.
Bach,
I've bought more cups of coffee
than I can possibly imagine.
And we've made meals.
So some of the meals,
some of the restaurants bring a thing for each person.
So they'll bring in a cookie
or a sandwich
for each person.
And it's often custom to that person.
But there are days when you have buffet style, right?
Where, okay, people can make a plate.
On those days, Tuesday.
Tuesday.
Yeah, if you came down and said, yeah, okay, hook us up.
I've been known.
I've been known.
Man Melon says,
can you bring back coach Peter from Husker tennis?
Can I is the question?
Can I back?
Go back to listen to segment number one.
C segment one.
C segment one.
BK.O.
I know you guys have had the tennis coaches on,
but I think it would be cool to have Andy Roddick.
to learn from him and what stories he has on the pro tour.
Antirotic is out of our price range.
His price range is way high.
Although I would think that maybe Peter Cobbett
has a better chance of getting any rod than we do.
That might be the thing.
If we, listen, Peter Colbilt, Hermando,
every coach, head and assistant at the University of Nebraska,
and Nebraska Wesleyan and Done and Concordia and Bellevue.
Every single coach on staff has full permission and an open invitation
to come to the ticket and be on air and tell their story.
That's the sentence.
We'll go to break.
We'll be right back.
Watch live on Facebook, YouTube, or Twitch.
You're listening to One-on-One with DP.
At 93-7 the ticket and the ticketfm.com.
