Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to one-on-one with D.P. Brought you by Canopy Street Market on 93-7 The Tickets and the Ticketfm.com. Starting point is 00:00:35 Shwezo Construction. Thank you, kind, sir. Greatly. Steven says, cheap tickets. Rick Flair against Randy Markey or whatever his name was who's getting beat on TV, like Alabama's Cupcake. Yeah, there was a guy who was like the greatest jobber
Starting point is 00:00:51 of the World Championship Wrestling Days. Yeah, but they would never put that as the main event at the Charlotte College. I'll see him. You could get that as the main event, the feature event on World Championship wrestling, because just so you get to see Flair beat up some. Hulk Hogan had cupcakes all up and down the roster that he would use. He had his favorite cupcakes. As a matter of fact, they're guys like Johnny Rods, Jose Estrada. They're Baron Miguel Sequoona. You know, yeah, there were some, there were some jobbers.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Who are your favorite jobbers, Bob? Well, I just like nowadays, unfortunately, it looks like BFAB is pretty much in that category. But I like how they've kind of, they allow local wrestlers generally or, you know, to come in or NXT guys or whatever and be jobbers. But I would prefer if there was more of two or three guys on the roster that you just knew. This is his job. He's going to get destroyed. But they don't seem to do that as much.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Well, because you have to pay them rate, right? right and you've got to pay for travel you got to pay for coverage etc they had a full of course there's a list of course there's a list the guy says the 10 best the Brooklyn brawler I would think that SD special delivery Jones
Starting point is 00:02:19 would make the list so these names are awesome yes you don't remember special delivery who had the hardest head in all of pro wrestling. And he and Bobo Brazil mastered the Cocoa butt. So they would just bang your head. And SD, like you beat him up. And then all of a sudden he'd start to get the field.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Like Hulk would Hulk out. SD Jones would get this little wiggle, this little dance he would do. And he'd get the crowd hype and he'd get a two count. And then, of course, he would lose. And we all fall for it. S.D. Jones, let's see the ones that they list. They list Johnny Rods, who I listed because he was one of the bad heel.
Starting point is 00:03:02 The Italian stallion, the Italian stallion, absolutely, absolutely makes the list. Mike Jackson at 180 pounds was a great job, a great wrestler, maybe the best wrestler. But here's the thing, he's still wrestling. I want to say he's like 70 years old, and he's still wrestling, and he's still fit. like he still does the high fire stuff uh he was a technician uh mike jackson uh duane gill who they knew is uh what was the guy that did the uh gilberg oh yeah gilberg gilberg yeah his real name is uh duane gill so that's why they call him gilberg uh the brooklyn brawler of course uh who became steve lombardy he wrested the steve lombardy did the the jober uh that was george south
Starting point is 00:03:50 who did a lot of work uh down to iron mike sharp who had these illegal forearm bands that he would turn over and then hit people in their head and try to get wins. But he would always like hit it off the turnbuckle and bounce and hit himself with the head. Like it was a giant of a man. He was an impressive looking dude. A Barry Horowitz. Oh, Barry Horowitz.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Who looked the part. Look like he could wrestle, but never won. And we shout out to the jobbers. This week's jobber of choice. Eastern Illinois as they head as they head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take on the number 10 rank, Alabama, Crimson, Ty. But what's on tap for you, Farley, et cetera? Yeah, well, it is a window world Wednesday. So we'll invite Todd Euler into studio and talk about the latest development.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Of course, there's a lot going on. I'm sure we'll talk a little Dayton, Riala, what that means for Nebraska, but lots of interesting things going on in college football. So I think it's going to be a college football heavy show, despite not a big week on the schedule, lots of off the field stuff going on. Looking forward to it. Don't go anywhere. It's a full afternoon here on the ticket.
