Back to one-on-one with D.P.
Sponsored by the Downtown Lincoln Foundation on 93-7 the ticket.
I just think this is the land that we live in.
If you ask me who has the most passionate fan base college fan base in the country,
Nebraska is absolutely in the conversation in the elite category in the Mount Rushmore of fan bases.
when it comes to football and volleyball.
It made a bid in basketball, men's basketball,
men's basketball last year.
I wouldn't say that was true with baseball.
It's not top 10, top 20 maybe in baseball.
Yeah, stuff.
The SEC is pretty serious.
Softball, top 10, maybe, yeah, yeah.
Wrestling?
Yeah, man.
I think top 10 or?
Man.
I just want to understand because to me,
what we've learned over the past few years
is that Nebraska athletics and Nebraska Husker fan base
can be challenged and deliver at the highest level
in all of college athletics.
Fair?
Yeah.
And I just think the statement in full should be
that your Husker fans,
end of statement.
Not just Husker football fans or not just Husker volleyball fans,
but Husker fans.
University of Nebraska, Husker fans.
And support appropriately so.
And we're not talking about drawing 90,000 for tennis.
We're talking about 1,000.
What percentage is one of 90?
Bach. What percentage are we talking about here? Right?
One point something. Right.
That getting 2,500 to Hibner to watch the Huskers play Big Ten soccer should not be a great ask.
Right? That should not be a great inconvenience.
Nebraska wrestling should, they should compete in front of a sold-out house every night.
But text line, right? Yeah. Text line, I'll read the text to get us out of here.
Texas says this, men's basketball last year
as though PBA wasn't rocking before that.
PBA was rocking.
Was it sold out every game for a Sweet 16 team?
This year we'll say a lot, right?
Right?
Because we know now.
Texas says this, I'm not sure
that most of the people in Nebraska will ever embrace sports
like soccer and tennis.
Oh, man.
You're Oscar fans.
I think a big part of it is,
learning the sport for a lot of people,
but I think a lot of people embrace learning volleyball
that maybe didn't know initially.
When I say that Nebraska,
that Husker fans are more likely to be intelligent
than some other sports fans around the country,
it's because I would think that their ability to grasp
and ingratiate themselves in the Husker concept,
and the belief, Husker power is in numbers.
And it is showing up in numbers.
And it is the showing up in numbers consistently and constantly for Husker athletes.
Because this whole thing that I'm not a fan of the sport,
eh, okay, okay, okay.
Disc golf, Jake says this.
Speaking of wrestling, I am a season ticket holder and make it almost every match.
But schedule gets tough on Saturday, Sunday matches,
when high school were at youth and wrestling tournaments are happening all day.
but there are days when it doesn't happen.
I just think there should be more sell-outs.
That's what I'm saying.
I just, I would like to see Husker fans show out.
That's all.
And here's why.
The coaches and athletes in those programs deserve it.
Period.
Period.
They deserve a pack house.
They deserve to feel Husker Packer.
They'll be good.
Until next time.
a black shirt coming up next year on 9-37.
