Bill Bennett says, I give it a nine so far, but attorney win would make it a 10. Go be great. Cupskus says probably an eight in my opinion. They let a couple of games get away. They shouldn't have, but they put belt-to-butt against teams like Wisconsin and Oregon that another year should be close games. So it evens out.

I look forward to everything else. Brett says, I would give the season 9-6. Coach Boyd-Birk has this rag-tag team playing. Well, should be able to bring in some blue chips for the season like this, as long as those blue chippers aren't glory hounds. But we don't get to determine that, right?

in the country, one team gets to finish the season the way they want. One. So the metrics say, the shoe will drop. There are 11 teams currently in the country who are having the level of season Nebraska's having. There's 12. There's 12 teams in the conversation having a season or better than Nebraska.

And none of them have gone through what Nebraska's gone through. I get that. But that's part of the joy. I would imagine that if we looked at the top 12 right now, Bach, we're not. not surprised that any of the other 11 teams are in the top 12. We are 100% surprised that Nebraska is in the top 12. We are 100% surprised that Nebraska is 12 and 4 in the Big 10. We are 100% surprised that Nebraska is 23 and 4. We're 100% surprised that Price Sanford is in the player of the year conversation in the Big 10 conference and all Big 10 conference candidate. Fair? Yeah.

I don't even know if there's a team in the top 25 that would surprise you if you would have told you. Right. Miami, Ohio, I guess. Right. Right. Texas says this, 78, 26 says this. I think at the beginning of season there is the field and Hoyberg has players that fit this system, fit his system better this year compared to any other year he's coach here.

I expected middle of the pack in the Big Ten, but to see what they've accomplished already. This has been a good season of the men's team. And that's really the thing, right? great text here. Text 4-636 says 9.5, the Iowa loss, the Iowa loss is a 0.5 deduction. Fair. Fair. Fair. But do you give, do you give an extra bonus for beating Tom Isno? Can you get that half point back? Buck, what say you? I would say 10. I don't know. Nebraska, it's not just

that Nebraska is like clinging on to the top 25, which I've seen before, very rarely, but I've seen before in the last 20 years. Like guys, they're a legit national title container. They might not be the favorite. But if you're a three seat, if you're in that discussion, and there's nobody just looking down on the rest of college basketball, saying, you know, this is the year,

obviously, like Arizona was in that discussion for a while. They've dropped, they looked a little bit more human. They look mortal. Yeah. They look mortal. And Michigan look mortal against Duke. And you don't have to beat all those teams. You just got to win six games once you get there.

Hey, listen, they're all mortal. they're all mortal. We watched Duke absolutely crapped a bet against UNC. But then we saw Duke put belt the butt against Michigan. They're all mortal. This is the time. Interesting text here.

And that team, that team didn't make the tournament. That team was not top 12 rank, right? Let's see, they finished, I think, number 11 and the AP number nine of the coaches. They were three seats. Right, because of the NIT. No, they, in the, that's, the 91 team won,

was the three-seat team that lost the Xavier. Okay. So the difference, the first round tournament win makes this the best team ever in full, like period, full stop. Is that what we're hearing? Yeah, I mean, is that the, is that the vibe? Yes.

So, so, but, but be careful now. Be careful now because what that says is the rest of the regular season games don't matter. What that says is the big 10 tournament doesn't matter. And then what that says is, again, you could lose four of six and then win a tournament game and everybody's okay. Be careful. What you put it in the space, what you speak to. Be careful. Like you don't devalue the greater thing for the, for the end result.

Yes, you want a tournament win. But complete, I'm more interested in playing each game completely from here forward, one game at a time, and then whatever the result is, right? Whatever the result is, if you're playing well, listen, what you hope is that this team plays as well as it can play, given whatever situation there is. That's how you measure the team. Are they playing as well as they can play?

Are they getting the most? Right, because if you do that, you'll get the thing you want. You'll get the win in the first round win. This team playing well is not going to lose the first round tournament game or a second round tournament game for that matter. Right? Like to think that they're going to be the higher seed

in both of those games. You win the first one, you're the higher seed in game two. A higher seed, but I mean, the six seed usually can compete if you're a three seed. But we're not, you're not afraid of any six seats. Not afraid. I'm just saying, I wouldn't say it's a shoe. You're favorite. They will be favored.

Yeah, very likely. They will be favored. They should beat everybody. Matter of fact, as you were saying a minute ago, I'm not sure that you're, you're afraid of facing anybody. There's nobody in the country where you go, man, I don't know. No. This is how good this team is. especially when it plays well.

And we understand the third factor when it comes to Nebraska basketball. The third, it's as likely for this team to play well all the time and see how good they can be or them not playing well or ending somewhere in the middle. And I think in the middle, a third of people could see if we said, we're not surprised this team finishes. in the top 10, you know, elite eight, right? Then there are those that would say, no, no, I'm good with Sweet 16.

And then there are those that would say, quite frankly, hey, just win the first round game. And we can talk about everything else after it. We'll celebrate like a month. But think about that. You win the first round tournament game. Bach, you have 48 hours. 48 hours. I have to build that statue pretty quickly.

Brough. bruh, bra, bra. Bach. When you talk about the height, the height of what, what Jim McKay used to say opening wild world sports, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.

It is a very real thing, though, by the way. I mean, they almost got to prepare for the hysteria that will be around winning that first game and realizing what that going to, into that second game will be. If they, you know, obviously, you're prepared to win. Yeah, but let me think about that.

Because it's the top, it'll be the top 32 teams in the country that's left. Right. Nebraska will be one of the top 32. And then you're trying to eliminate the bottom 16 of that 32, which they should be able to do. Which they should be able to do.

Now, but I am allowing myself to dream a little because winning that first tournament game, will set this town on fire and whatever town they're playing it. But then, Bob, two days later to win and advance to the 316

and give yourselves five days, five days, man, there are going to be some folks who feet don't touch the ground from Sunday to Thursday. Can you, look, can you imagine? But can you imagine for a minute?
