Starting point is 00:00:00 Back to one-on-one with D.P. Sponsored by the Downtown Lincoln Foundation on 93-7 the ticket. Final segment. Who's with, is it Austin in the black shirt? We'll do a bullpen switch again. Me in the black shirt. Austin in the black shirt. There we go.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Thanks for two good hours of radio and old school. This afternoon as well. Stark and Bidditch says Nebraska winning a championship this year is like, Me driving my 1999 Buick Regal to Indianapolis to win a 500-mile race. Could it happen? Yes, in theory. That is a big part of it.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Texas Casanova says this. I want to finally be that older team that will compete with Minnesota, Iowa, Utah type, developed older teams. We were pretty young last year, so now we should be more experience. And yet... Correct in theory.
Starting point is 00:00:57 And yet, the t-shirt that you will see around town, will be Nebraska football, but 2027. The narrative has already been typed up, but 27, but 2027. Hey guys, but 2027. What about 2027? Well, what if 2027? You won't be experienced in 2027 because you're counting on a whole group of new guys.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Matter of fact, you're hoping on new quarterbacks. Harrison, go with me here. We're talking about on the GPS tracking that Big Ten Championship is important. Fair? Yeah. We agree to that, right? How many freshman quarterbacks, starting freshman quarterbacks have won the Big Ten championship? Oh, you could, I know, you'd have to look at Ohio States for quarterbacks throughout the years if they had true freshmen.
Starting point is 00:01:55 You mean no Michigan? You mean no, no, no, no Oregon? Yeah, Bryce Underwood didn't work out your last. year from Michigan. You mean no Penn State? Right. There in 30 years, Ohio State is the only program to win a Big Ten championship with a freshman quarterback. That sounds about right. It's rare to come by. If we're talking about Nebraska winning the Big Ten championship, which to me begins the standard for all conversation, right? National Championship, show me Big Ten championship first. Show me top third Big Ten and then Big Ten Championship.
Starting point is 00:02:37 You got to go back to 2014 and J.T. Barnett. And then there's one other time, 2008, Terrell Price. Ohio State is the only team, the only program in the Big Ten Conference to win a Big Ten Conference Championship with a freshman quarterback. Sir? So you're telling me all the pressure on the freshman quarterback is not to move. But 2027. we're not even talking 2026.
Starting point is 00:03:09 You want to go another step further? I don't know if I do, but we will. There's a couple of sophomores. So we're in 2028. There's only two sophomores? Well, Michigan had two. Okay. And then Trace McSorily at Penn State.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Okay, yeah. And then Cardell Jones from Ohio State. Yep. Oh, and then you can hope because, oh man Connor Cook Michigan State just pointing out
Starting point is 00:03:43 I think it's fair to point that out can we amen Rafi we got you bro he says 2027 to me really means 2028 29 exactly it's almost as if you read my mind kind sir
Starting point is 00:03:56 that is why you're Chris Raff he says and that is if we develop recruits and they stay a lot of this but 2020 37 though. By the t-shirt.
Starting point is 00:04:14 All right, D.P. Terrell Farley. Black Surrey and the bullpen. The misfits are taking over. Stay tuned. 93-7, the ticket.
