Starting point is 00:00:00 Back to one-on-one with D.P. Presented by Beatrice Bakeray. On 93-7 The Ticket and the Ticketfm.com. Yeah, we like that. That's a Friday jam right there. We'll fire. We like it. Like it.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Well done, Rico. That's a mood set. It's a good one. Yeah, it's good stuff. WrestleMania 424-6-4-5-6-85. Give me your top. WrestleMania moment, match moment. guys can make sure that I cover the basis.
Starting point is 00:00:49 And there's tons, right? This is the 38th WrestleMania. It's a lot of WrestleMania's. That's a lot. I mean, think about that, Rico. It's 38. It's older than you are. There have been 10 more in WrestleMania's than I have been alive for.
Starting point is 00:01:01 It is older than you are. And the very first one really was pretty interesting because, again, it took a whole lot of, you know, you've got to have some forward thinking to, and some creative thinking to think that this thing would become what it's been. This week, it's two days. Start Saturday. So I'll go through this because I just kind of want to get myself in the right space.
Starting point is 00:01:29 The feature is Rhonda Rousey versus Charlotte's play. Is that the main event the first day or the second day? That's the main event Saturday night. Okay. Right? So they're going to open. They get several different matches. I'm not especially excited about Saturday
Starting point is 00:01:49 other than the fact that you're going to have so the match you're going to have the Uso's against Shinsay, that's going to be okay. Then you have New Day versus Seamus and that'll be all right. Seth Rollins has a mystery opponent. I do love mystery opponents.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Right, so it's mystery opponents and people have gone to full range of everything from the rock coming in to it being Cody Rhodes from from the past just tons of of who could it be
Starting point is 00:02:24 right Hardy boys again yeah like it's WrestleMania like you know some people said well Kurt Angle would make a great one like could be Dean Ambrose
Starting point is 00:02:35 what's Kurt Engel doing? Right like whatever Kurt Angle wants because he's an American hero dog on it what a gold medal with a broken back Come on. You know, broken neck, right? Broken neck, my back. Yeah, so.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Wild. Yeah, and then Sunday, of course, the match of all matches, Brock Lester versus Roman Reigns. It's a lot of muscle. Yeah, Edge is there. Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Kevin, Kevin Owens is wrestling.
Starting point is 00:03:08 He's hosting, he's doing his show segment with Stone Cold, which means, you know, stunter and beers can be expected. Beautiful. There. Pat McAfee, the announcer and the former kicker, is getting his in-ring debut at WrestleMania against Austin Theory. Johnny Knoxville is going to be wrestling. Is Gronk back to wrestle?
Starting point is 00:03:29 Huh? Is Gronk back to wrestle? No, no. But Johnny Knoxville is going to wrestle. He's going to wrestle Sammy Zane. So it's that kind of circus that's going to go on. And of course, you know, Ms. is bringing in his crew. You know, Logan Paul's coming in.
Starting point is 00:03:51 So, yeah, your reaction is my reaction. Whatever. Your reaction is my reaction. Logan Paul, Jake Paul, I care less about the Pauls. I'm so done. I'm so done. I'm mad that it's still, I'm mad that just saying their names, like you get people that are like, ooh, I have to watch it.
Starting point is 00:04:10 No, no, they're dumb. Stop. Yeah, it's, I'm done with anything Paul-ish. So that's there. I'm going to give you 10. Okay. WrestleMania moment of my, like I think the ones that are, these are, these are mine. And it crosses over.
Starting point is 00:04:33 And I hate to put several people in several times, but you have to. Look, it's necessary. It doesn't matter if it's the same person. If it's a great moment, it's a great moment. Yeah, yeah. Hogan and Ultimate Warrior. WrestleMania 6. Where basically nobody in the crowd knew who to root for.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Yeah. They didn't know who to root for. But ultimately this was the passing of the guard from Hogan, the Hogan era to the Ultimate War era. Which turned out to be great, but the era was terrible. The handover was great. The passing of the Toro.
Starting point is 00:05:14 just didn't like just didn't work warrior wasn't ready for what was going to be required of him after that so it was a little bit nuts and there's that um Sean Michaels versus Rick Flair right the moment where you know where Sean knows he's got it like this is it the end of Flair's career of course it wasn't but it was um because Flair knew will never retire so I appreciate the discussion. But 10 Music, I'm sorry. I love you. Even in the pen, he's whispering nothings in the Rick Fliers' ear. But exceptional.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Undertaker finally losing. Losing to Brock Lesnar. That was definitely on mine. Right? Like that... You thought it would never happen. Right? the guy who has made a whole new, the guy who had to quit his job,
Starting point is 00:06:17 the black guy with the big eyes, who was the guy that they used for every clip. Oh my God, I can't believe this happened. Pretty cool. For me, Kofi Kingston beating Daniel Bryan winning the championship. Like, shout out to the two little dudes
Starting point is 00:06:40 putting on a great show. And they finally, off Kofy for a lifetime of what he did. Mike Tyson, Mike Tyson with Sean Michael. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. That was a great, a great and granted acknowledgement, right, of all that. I want to throw one in, there's a, you know, kind of a battle royal. Royal in this one where they included
Starting point is 00:07:17 like William the Refrigerator Perry and Bill Freilich and like they had just a bunch of athletes come in and participate in. Probably one of my favorite moments. The Rock versus Hogan, where they stole each other's moves and mimicked one another and pretty good because this was Hollywood Hogan. This was not Hoke Hogan, so they didn't know really what they were going to do. Hogan and the giant, you know, again, the slam that almost wasn't. The end of Andre's
Starting point is 00:07:55 career where Andre knew that he was done. But Hogan, the back story was, Hogan wasn't sure that Andre was going to let him win. The thing is with Andre, like, if he decides that he wants to win, he's going to win. That was the thing, right? And there were things that, like, Andre had a rule. There were only certain people. I think Andre was slammed three times in his whole career.
Starting point is 00:08:24 And everybody needed permission. Like, you weren't going to slam Andre without his permission. It just wasn't going to happen. But that's an all-timer, right? That's an all-timer. There's a ladder match with Sean Michaels and the late great Razor and Ramon
Starting point is 00:08:43 which was kind of the coordination of the ladder match as being a unique and showcase kind of match. The ladder match is terrifying. It's just like I don't... So Rico, how much money would they have to pay you to be hit with ladders, to have to jump off a ladder onto another ladder?
Starting point is 00:09:05 How much money would... Too much. Too much. Too much. too much there wouldn't be enough because the thing is with the ladders if you fall and you don't fall correctly like there's so much that can go wrong like there's there's holes in the ladder your leg you fall your leg gets stuck it lands an awkward way like it's over it's over yeah like i don't understand like i i do i want to know what how much money would it take like how much to that and while we do this can you google what how much the wrestlers are going to make this year at WrestleMania. Okay. I think I would need at least, at the very least, five zeros. Right, right? Five zeros.
Starting point is 00:09:47 A number with five zeros after it. One of the great ones, Stone Cold versus the Rock at WrestleMania 17. They did the thing. They were so good together that it was impressive. one of my favorite ones was Owen Hart versus Brett Hart where the two brothers beat each other up for
Starting point is 00:10:15 60 minutes and that they some of the family business actually came out. There was some taunting going on between the two wrestlers during a match. So there was that. Number two, Ricky
Starting point is 00:10:32 Steenvote versus macho man savage. Those were two of the best in-ring performers in there at the same time at their peak, and they put on a show like nobody's business. There's that. And then the Brett Hart versus Stone Cole just brawl, two of the best at the top of their game doing their thing.
Starting point is 00:11:00 So what will the wrestlers make this week in retail? Right now, I'm looking it up. It's hard. There's so many from different years. but so right now this year at least Brock Lesnar makes a guaranteed purse of a million including everything payouts for merchandise, pay-per-view sales, and image video rights.
Starting point is 00:11:21 But that's him. A million dollar payday. Yeah, that's him. I don't know about anybody else though. A million dollar payday. Oh, here we go. So Roman Raines will make a guaranteed $500,000. Becky Lynch, 350K,
Starting point is 00:11:40 Bianca, 500, or 50K, Ray Mysterio, 200, The Miz, 300K, Logan Paul, 1 million. He is constant, right? Yeah. The Uso's 50K each. Just 50K.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Yep, Coffey Kingston, 100K, Seamus, 250K, Seth Rollins, $500K,000, Charlotte. 300k Ronda Rousey 500K A lot of these
Starting point is 00:12:10 are only pay-per-view money Ronda's was contract terms and pay-per-view money share Logan Paul's was celebrity
Starting point is 00:12:16 contract for main event so yeah I think so Lesner and Logan Paul are making the most at a million and a lot of
Starting point is 00:12:27 five and a decent amount of 500 K's Roman Raines Bobby Lashley Mm-hmm Randy Orton those are the 500K people yeah
Starting point is 00:12:41 for one night's worth I'd take I'd take 500K for a ladder match I bet I'm good you can smack me with a ladder for 500K I don't I don't now if you included a cage
Starting point is 00:13:02 and you wanted me to be thrown off of said cage, we're going to have to update. Well, Mick Foley did that, right? Yeah, well, Mick Foley wasn't crazy, man. Well, Mick Foley had several matches. So the match with Edge was just remarkable where he was thrown through a fiery table and actually caught on fire. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Right? He actually caught on fire. And then there was one against the Rock where they had agreed that there would be two chair shots, so two chairs to the head. and then for some reason Rock just kept going and he just kept hitting him and he took five cheer shots
Starting point is 00:13:40 and they had to put stitches in like right there on the spot and it was just and then the one where Undertaker threw him off the top of the building off top of the cage onto the announcer's table
Starting point is 00:13:51 yeah onto the announcer's table how much how much how much is that? I thought he was dead I thought he was dead how much money would it take for them to say hey we're going to throw
Starting point is 00:14:01 you off the table. You're going to throw me off the cage onto the table? Yeah. Like Rachel would say, here's how much we need. Rachel would pay to watch that. She would negotiate that for you. She'd be like, you know what? Yes, throw him off of the cage. I think that would be not quite a million, but over 500K. But that's when Rachel would have a sign going, remember? when I asked you. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. This is for all those dishes you didn't wash.
Starting point is 00:14:39 This is for all those dirty diapers you didn't clean. She's there like John Cousack. Remember that time you said you were going to get me a large, a large diet Dr. Pepper and you got me a Diet Coke? This is why you could throw off his cage. And she's negotiating with Roman Raines to throw Rico. And then she would laugh. then she would check out me because she loves me.
Starting point is 00:15:07 But then as soon as she finds out that I'm okay, she'd be like, okay, do it again. You can hit him with it. No, she would hand him the chair to hit you with. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She would grab the chair she's sitting on and toss it to him. Here, use this. Use this.
Starting point is 00:15:23 I don't need to sit. He must pay and he must pay now. And Ellie would be laughing. She'd be like, how, ha, daddy's silly. Daddy silly. I'm like, help me! Help me! That your child won't help you. Daddy's silly.
Starting point is 00:15:44 That's kind of the right way to approach it. That's why I love my family. Yeah, yeah. You have a special family, indeed. Ray, I agree with you. I have no idea how Logan Paul is making more than Roman reign. It's the select. He gets the celebrity, like, they have to pay him a certain amount to show up.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Johnny Knoxville. Like Johnny Knoxville's there. not making it a million. Yeah, but Johnny Knoxville's doing it because he probably has always wanted to, and Logan Paul is just in it for the money. Well, okay, so then I'll ask you that ponder that then. The Logan Paul factor or the Johnny Knoxville factor, if you could be in WrestleMania, but you're just going to get beat up. Would you do it? Depends on who's beating me up. For free. Depends on who's beating me up. Well, think about that. I'll come over with a few names. You tell me whether you would do. doing it or not. Okay. We'll close out one-on-one here after the break.
