Now brothers and sisters, today is week 9 of our series God of Miracles
And this series that we've been in for 9 weeks, God of Miracles, it is a series about faith
We are walking through the book of Matthew together
And it may take us a year and a half to finish Matthew, but we are not in any rush
We're walking through the book of Matthew line by line, verse by verse and it may take us a year and a half to finish Matthew, but we are not in any rush.
We're walking through the book of Matthew line by line, verse by verse.
And coming out of the Sermon on the Mount,
Jesus launches a public ministry of healings.
To watch, to show off that he is the Messiah.
He is Christ the King.
And he confirms the preaching of the gospel
through miraculous signs and wonders, namely healings.
And for the last couple of weeks, you've been hearing preaching about all of these miraculous healings.
Now today, I want to do something different.
If you would just allow me, the text that we were supposed to preach today, I'm going to put that text aside until next week.
Because I feel compelled of the Holy Spirit to address something a little bit more important right now.
I'm like Jude.
I wanted to write to you about our common salvation, but I see something else.
As a shepherd, I need to stop and address.
And so the text that was scheduled for today,
I will come back to it.
And then this series will end on September 3rd
and a brand new series begins on September 10th.
So let me tell you what I want to do
with our time together.
And I'm not going to be before you long.
I want to do two things with our time together and I'm not going to be before you long. I want to do two things
with our time together.
Look right at me.
First, I want to personally address
all of the new brothers and sisters
who slipped into 2019
while my wife and I was gone.
I'm going to spend the bulk of the time talking directly to you.
So if you're in this room, you're watching me right now online, live across YouTube, anywhere in the city of Atlanta,
a few pockets across the country and around the world to our 2819 family global.
Those of you who joined the ministry online while I was gone and those of you sitting in the room who joined us,
but we don't do membership, so we don't join, but you slipped into the gathering and you are
feeling us out and trying to figure out if you belong here. We don't do membership, okay? So
you're trying to figure out. Somebody came to me last week and said, I'm going to join this Sunday.
Well, you don't join. Just keep coming. Serve, get involved, plug in. You are part of the family okay uh we i'm not going to get into that
we just want to do it here but if you slipped into the gathering over the last 60 days while
i was gone i know you're in the room i want to spend the bulk of my time talking directly to you
and then the second thing i want to do is talk to all of us as a community
and what i want to do is spend the rest of my time just orienting our hearts, listen,
around the purpose for why we're here.
Because you could be in something so long,
you forget the purpose for why you're in it.
That it just becomes obligation to go to church and go home.
And to have services and go home.
And to clap your hands and sing three songs, three points and a services and go home and to clap your hands and sing three songs three points in a
poem and go home so i felt the lord told me to talk to everybody in here who's new and
to talk to the church to remind y'all the purpose for why we're here
because every now and again you need to be reminded good leaders are good repeaters
it's why jesus said the same things over and over and over
with different powerful parables and if you are the leader over any organization or you have staff
that work under you you need to be the chief repeating officer because people forget and why
is this important that you notice because i want you to understand the culture of this house if
you're new.
Listen to me carefully.
If you run an organization, a business, a company, a house, a church, you have a family.
Every place you go, culture exists.
And I've taught our staff that culture is either created by design or culture is created by default.
But every business, every church, every home, every family, every marriage, all of it has a culture.
And if you don't create that culture on purpose, a subculture would create itself.
And we work very hard to create a culture here on purpose.
And I want to talk to you, if you're new, about why we're here and what we're doing.
Can I do that? Yes.
Let's pray God and ever wise father
just exalt your holy name right now
when you alone the God of heaven and earth.
Father God, I pray,
as I step into this moment of obedience, as a weak vessel,
a fallen human being,
that you would give me the strength
to speak to these, my brothers and sisters,
your sons and daughters,
and the unbeliever in the room,
the unbeliever in the chat.
I pray you would
arrest our attention
right now.
I pray you would breathe
on our hearts right now.
I pray you would drive away
every distraction, even the
heat. Let it keep reminding us of the
place we don't want to go.
Awaken right now your sons
and daughters
and maybe even through
this, what should I call it?
Talk!
The spirit of Issachar will come upon this house.
Yes, the spirit of
Issachar will come upon us.
That we will rightly discern the times
and know what to do about it.
In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.
If you agree with me, just say amen.
Shout amen.
Thank you so much.
Brothers, I appreciate you.
Frank, I'm not going to be up here long, but you can do what you want to do.
Our brothers and sisters,
look right at me, okay?
Let's have an honest conversation
for a few moments
before I talk to the new people in the room.
Let me talk to all of us.
You don't have to be hard-pressed.
You don't have to be hard-pressed.
You don't even have to look hard
to look around and see that right now,
as I'm talking to you,
we are living in perilous times.
I want to talk straight to you, so you need to pay attention. Sit up and pay attention.
You don't got to look around hard. You don't even got to thumb through your social media for
five minutes to not look around and realize we are living in very perilous times. I would even
go so far as to say that for those of us who have a real prayer life and those of us who are sensitive to the spirit of god i would dare to say man we might be entering
into or might be living in probably the end times for when i read what paul wrote to second what
paul wrote to timothy in second timothy chapter three and the list that he gave of the atmosphere
of the earth in the end times i look around at the climate that we're in right now
and I look back at the word of God
and I say, based on the word of God
and not my 3 a.m. opinion,
I stand here boldly in 2023 and say to you,
my brothers, my sisters, wake up
for I believe as a prophet
and as a pastor of this house,
we are living in the end times.
Men are lovers of themselves.
Lovers of money.
Lovers of what is evil.
All throughout our nation right now, we see the rise of all men of ungodly perversions.
No.
We see the rise of what's the celebration of perversions. No. We see the rise and watch the celebration of perversions. We got whole pastors,
famous ones too, apologizing for what? Celebrating and appeasing whole groups of perversions in our
society. We got drag queens in the pulpit on Sunday preaching the doctrines of demons and devils. Trying to reorganize the church
as if any man could change
what Jesus has founded.
What nonsense is that?
We got drag queens
teaching children in school.
Trying to rob us of what God
gave you in your birthright.
For he created you male and female
and not non-binary.
That does not exist
according to the word of God.
I need to go into a bathroom
with men. You need to go into a bathroom with men.
You need to go into a bathroom with women.
Non-binary does not exist.
They lie on social media and say God created us non-binary.
How?
When in the beginning he said, created them male and female. I never seen a man with a baby in his belly.
Never met a man with a period
I've never met a woman with testicular fortitude
times we're living in is full of great delusions lies across social media
lies across the pulpit right now as i'm talking to you there is a demon somewhere in our city
and the city's all across the country preaching to unsuspecting people the lies and the heresies of satan and for the sake of fame and popularity
we just ascribe our approval of men and women because they got large followings or big name
as if they're not fallen human beings like you and i as if somebody who's famous can't be in error. Can I go deeper?
Or like somebody who's famous can't be in compromise.
I don't care if they're your favorite worship leader.
Who abandoned the faith for R&B songs.
Or your favorite pastor.
We are living in the era of leadership compromise and what the devil
does is watch people ascend to the top and then pick them off on the mountain
to lead millions of people astray. He ain't stupid you need to wake up. He's
patient, he's crafty, he's cunning, He'll just wait until you get up there and you get prideful.
And then once you get to the mountaintop and you got three million followers and your heart is full of pride,
then he'd pick you off from there, lead you down from that mountaintop and millions of people following you to hell.
While we reminiscing over the songs you used to sing,
and we watch you twerking now,
but you approve of that because you're full of compromise.
That is the carnality of this generation.
Carnal.
Listen to me carefully.
I'm talking to my church look at me
look right at me i don't care if they're a famous preacher or pastor
there is no bible for celebrating compromise
see you're not gonna clap because you feel icky as i'm talking to you
because all you like to do is like and thumb everything,
even if it goes against the word of God.
Why?
Because we have a greater allegiance to culture
than the kingdom.
I'm going to get y'all straight.
So when I arrive in heaven,
I say, Lord, I got an army of people behind me
who wash their clothes in the Lamb's blood of life.
And they have come out of the tribulation.
They have come out of tribulation and suffering.
We have arrived and sat down at the marriage supper of the Lamb.
We were those who fought for truth, heard it, accepted, lived for it, preached it, stood on it.
Watch.
And we hear now.
Ain't no ninja worth going to hell over.
Ain't not a nan ninja worth going to hell over.
I don't care what they name, what they're following,
how many albums they got.
Ain't no ninja worth going to hell over.
Compromise is compromise listen to me my brothers look right at me it's happening all around us watch while
unsuspecting christians are being led astray so what is the answer to that look at me
the answer is not the federal government
the answer is not the current or the next president
answer is not indifference Or the next president.
The answer is not indifference.
The answer is not turn a blind eye.
Look at me.
I'm already almost done with my question.
The answer is the prayers of the saints.
The answer is the gospel activity of the saints.
The answer is the advocacy of the saints.
The answer to all of the evils in our society is not tuck tail and run.
The answer to the foolishness and the mess we see right now
is the agency that Jesus left in the earth to be salt and light the church of jesus christ
if you are saved you are part of the answer
the only the only hope this sin sick world has is the gospel and the church of jesus
until he pulls us out of here and then the rise of the
antichrist so if you're new to our church let me let me tell you what we're in here doing
because we're not in here wasting our time if you're new to our church i want you to watch
know what we are about and i want you to agree with me around three things if you're new to our church, I want you to watch. Know what we are about.
And I want you to agree with me around three things.
If you're new to our church, let me give them to you if you're a note taker.
If you're new to our church, number one, I want you to agree with us around our core devotion.
I want you to agree with us around our core devotion.
What is our core devotion here at 2819 Church? Acts chapter 2. Luke, a historian and a doctor, writes the book of Acts which records the
first 30 years of the church. Peter preaches the first sermon on the day of Pentecost. 3,000 people are
saved. The church is exploding and blowing up. And then Luke records this incident in Acts chapter 2
beginning at verse 42. Here is the core devotion of our church if you are new. Put my scriptures
up on the screen. And they, who was they? The church, all the
believers. Pay attention. I'm almost done. They devoted themselves. What does devoted mean? They
gave their hearts, their minds, their actions, their lives. They gave themselves to these things.
Watch. They devoted themselves to watch
the apostles teaching.
Pause.
So I want you to know
if you're new at this church
we're not devoted to Google.
We're not devoted to articles
we downloaded from Yahoo.
If you're still going on Yahoo.
At 2819
can't speak for y'all the church
we are devoted to the apostles' teaching.
Not my revelation.
The apostles' teaching.
What is the apostles' teaching?
All of the Old Testament.
All of the New Testament.
All of the record of scriptures, which is the record of Jesus Christ.
Jesus is hidden in the Old Testament.
He is revealed in the New Testament.
From Genesis to Revelation is Christ.
And at this church, we are firmly devoted to this gospel, these scriptures.
We have a fidelity for the word of God.
We have respect for the word of God.
We are anchored to the word of God.
We believe in the word of God.
We're going to stand on the word of God. We're going to teach the word of God. We're going to preach the Word of God. We believe in the Word of God. We're gonna stand on the Word of God. We're gonna teach the Word of God. We're gonna preach
the Word of God. We're gonna confront you according to the Word of God. We're gonna
keep you accountable according to the Word of God. We're gonna rub your back
with the Word of God. We're gonna smack you with the Word of God. We're gonna
encourage you with the Word of God. We're gonna shut down your nonsense with the
Word of God. We're gonna love on you with the Word of God. We're going to shut down your nonsense with the word of God. We're going to love on you with the word of God. We're going to rebuke the mess out of you with the word of God. We're going to
stand on the word of God. I'm so serious about that. Our hermeneutics, our homiletics, our
exegesis, our line by line, verse by verse, unpacking the scriptures.
Because it's powerful in and of itself to save, deliver, and transform.
Without us trying to force things into it that is not there.
That makes for good preaching.
That makes for bad doctrine.
Oh, he preaching.
What did he say?
She preaching.
What did she say?
We love emotions,
but we don't love education.
You love doing backflips off the stage and running around the church and dancing
but you don't like to learn.
At this church we want our people to be biblically literate.
We want you to be taught.
We want you to be educated.
We want you to know the word of God
even more than you know my voice
because a day will come when you will not have me
but you will have the word of God even more than you know my voice because a day will come when you will not have me but you will have the word of God. We want you to know how to open this at three o'clock in
the morning when the devil is trying to wreak havoc in your house and know how to flip to the
Psalms and comfort your heart or flip to Proverbs and get some wisdom or flip to the New Testament
and get some doctrine or flip to the Old Testament and see how God worked throughout history.
We want you to know the difference
between James, the son of Alphaeus,
and James, the brother of Jesus. so at this church we are devoted put my scriptures back up there
to the apostles teaching and this church we are devoted to fellowship
watch we don't live in silos here. We believe at 2019 in radical community.
Watch. We want to live in gospel community. Watch this. Albeit messy. Albeit I don't like her this
week. Albeit she pissed me off, but I'm going to pray for her. We want to live in gospel community. Watch. Watch. Loving each other when
you're likable and loving each other when your attitudes stink. Because if you read the New
Testament, all of the New Testament prophesies to you that you're going to have friction with
brothers and sisters. So if you crep up in here during the summer don't leave if somebody offends you next week
watch let's practice matthew 18 and go to that brother or sister
and if they don't listen let's bring another brother or sister with them
and if they don't listen we're going to tell it to the elders of the church but
we watch we want to live in gospel community where we love each other so
well we even buy cars for one another that part right there that a woman in our church during
the summer living in community with her brothers and sisters the brothers saw her hopping on uber
hopping off of uber hopping on uber getting rides home, going to the works, getting rides home.
They said, when they meet us at the works, walk out the parking lot, here's the keys to your car.
That happened right here over the summertime.
I'm so serious.
In our church, we meet each other's needs through community.
We pray for each other through community.
We help pay each other's bills through community.
We bring food to your house through community.
I got a bag of clothes that don't fit my kid.
I'm going to bring it to your kid through community.
I hate to see you on Uber and Lyft all the time.
We're going to buy your car through community.
We solve each other's needs through community.
Now some of you don't even understand
that, listen, the thing you've been believing for
is in the handshake of the person on your
row.
Some of the greatest
blessings in your life will come
into your life on two legs.
And people and people rob themselves of the best that god has for them when they live in silos i know that you are afraid that if you come into community and we find out who you really are you think
you're going to be judged and you're going to be torn down i'm about to get to that in a second
that's going to be my third point but i'm gonna get to that in a second that's going to be my third point but I'm going to get to that in a second if somebody judge you send us an email
we'll deal with them for you
right this is a glorious mess
and it's okay to not be okay
as we're growing together
into the image of Christ
sanctification
is a
so here we are devoted to teaching.
We are devoted to fellowship and to breaking of bread.
We are devoted to prayer.
At this church, we're serious about prayer.
We don't act like we know what we're doing all the time.
I don't act like I got all the answers all the time.
You'll never catch me in a meeting and somebody did not pray.
You won't catch us in a creative meeting and somebody did not pray. You're not going to catch us in a staff meeting
and somebody did not pray. We're never going to open up a gathering and somebody did not pray.
We don't do anything unless somebody pray. At this church, here's our motto. We plan like everything
depends on us. We pray like everything depends on God. So we're serious about prayer. We have
prayer on Wednesday night of every single month. We do access when we come together. Like we're serious about prayer we have prayer on wednesday night of every single month we do access
when we come together like we're so serious about prayer you know somebody told me like yo somebody
was talking to me the other day about like my preaching and all that like yo i i don't i don't
know the secret sauce of my preaching is my prayer life i'm not i'm not eloquent i'm from the hood
i'm still growing i'm a sheep like everybody else but my prayer life though like that like i got issues and people could preach circles around me and and uh and and
and your boy you got to pray for me and i keep guns in my house and i got daughters
and don't cross my wife and i still got some stuff that God is trying to work out of me.
Still a little bit of darkness in my heart, but that prayer life don't.
Watch.
I'm needy for his presence.
At this church, we're serious about prayer right put my scripture back up there
verse 43 and all came upon every soul and many wonders and signs were being done through the
apostles we see wonders and signs in this church supernatural miracles women who couldn't get
pregnant who got children now people we laid hands on, who got healed.
And all of that is in God's hands.
It's not in our hands.
Give me verse 44.
Keep going.
And all who believe were?
Together.
And all who believe were?
Together.
All who believe were?
Together.
We want to be what?
Together.
And they had all things in?
God.
That's why we're not a stingy people
we help one another at this church we share
you i have to send an email for the church to send benevolence watch we don't step over knees like
we don't see that how come this sister keep coming to church every week in the same outfit
you're gonna feel this
this is not a sermon i'm just talking to you from my heart you stay here long enough you're
gonna feel it's not perfect and the person with the microphone is not perfect but we are striving
for this and i fight for this and i perfect. But we are striving for this.
And I fight for this.
And I hold people on my staff accountable for this.
Because this is what we're striving for.
This is our core devotion.
Acts 42.
Acts 2, 42 to 47.
You wonder, what is 2819 about?
This is what we are about.
Last two verses.
Verse 46.
Watch.
And day by day, they was attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes.
They received their food with glad and generous hearts.
Everybody pause.
Look at the text.
Day by day, they was attending.
Where?
The temple.
Where was the temple?
Outside.
Who hung out at the temple?
Unbelievers.
And God was what?
He was adding to their church.
That means they were serious about evangelism and inviting people to the gathering and sharing the gospel and being a bold witness. We want to
be about all of that at 2819 Church. So if you hear, you see us acting crazy on social media
and on Saturday night, we inviting the world to church and we trying to drag people from the
office to church and we go through the drive-thru window and we throw invite cards through the window i do y'all never do that start doing that right you get your change take an invite
card throw it through the window y'all laughing but one of our top photographers in this room
is here and been here life changed because somebody put an invite card in a hand in front of target
god's changed her life so we are we about that evangelism
don't think for one second it's only the pastor's job to bring people to christ no
watch come see a man not this man that man
verse 47 watch
verse 47
47
thank y'all i'm coming for y'all when it's over. And praising God and having favor with
all the people and the Lord added to their number day by day, those who are being saved.
This place is packed to capacity because we about this life right here.
We're going to add a second gathering during our anniversary because we about this life right here.
So if you're new to our church, number one, I want you to understand our core devotions.
When it comes to what we are about, we are about this.
Second thing I want you to understand is our core mission.
Our core mission.
Long before any of you got here, I know we done been to churches,
and every church got their mission, and they put it up on a poster,
and this is our mission, and this is what we're about, and all that.
Praise God for all of that.
At our 2019, we only got one mission. mission i'm gonna tell you where it's found it wasn't found in my book on my notebook we got one mission let me tell you what's found matthew chapter 28
verses 18 through 20 here is the mission of 2819 church some of you knew somebody asked
on social media what does 2819 mean here is where it comes from okay jesus said
give me matthew 28 19 18 okay i'ma read it to you jesus said all authority in heaven and earth
i know it was given to me verse 19 therefore go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
We did that last week.
And I will be with you to the very end.
You might say, so what are y'all driving for 2019 i'm talking to all the new people this is what we're about this is not a joke i eat sleep and breathe this i fight for this i will give my life for that
at this church we are serious about the spread of the gospel we want to win souls we want to
multiply disciples we don't want
to make church attenders not trying to just fill up seats yo we was about this life when it was
only 30 people in this room we was about that life when the church was only 12 people we've
been about this life for 10 years and even more so since we changed the name from victory to 2019
church we changed the name because we're serious about this right here.
For us, if we're not doing this, we are wasting our time.
If we're not doing it, it don't matter if we're doing conferences, selling books.
It don't matter what we do.
If we're not doing this, we're wasting our time.
So what are y'all about at 2019?
We're about spreading the gospel.
We're about winning souls.
We're about multiplying disciples.
What is a
disciple? A committed follower of Jesus Christ. Yo, we're fighting for that. We're giving towards
that. We're praying for that. We hold meetings for that. We do course correction for that. We're
trying to fix the AC for that. That's all of what we're about. So you don't got to be wondering,
what is the mission of the church and what y'all about you creeping on the social media this is what i'm telling you right now face to face yo you could
you can go and sneak around and talk to leaders and go underneath everything that you see go past
all the stuff and just sniff aside is this real yes this is what we are about just investigate
and you'll get to the bottom of even the admin sending out an email. We're all about that life. We are a body of believers commissioned to spread the gospel.
So if that's boring to you, this church is not going to be for you.
If you want to be entertained, this church is not going to be for you.
If you want to feel awesome every single week, this church is not for you.
And if you want me to make you feel like you're all of that in a bag of chips,
this church is not for you. And if you want me to make you feel like you're all of that in a bag of chips, this church is not for you. We care for one another in the community, but we are outwardly focused.
So our core devotion, Acts 2, 42 through 47. Our core mission, Matthew 28.
Matthew 29, 18 through 20. And the last thing I want to tell you is our core rejection.
What we're not about.
I'm fine.
You see that?
I'm finished.
I'm done.
Our core rejection.
Our core devotion, all of Acts 42 through 47.
Be about that life.
Our core mission at this church, we want to... hurt because
I see people making a mockery of Christ
and it makes me angry
I feel a righteous indignation
against the enemy who's working even through believers
a mockery of our Lord and Savior,
like his blood ain't save us from damnation.
We want to be serious.
I get to that core rejection.
That's why I don't even like that sticker, co-exist.
We ain't here to co-exist.
There's only one God. every other god is an idol they cannot see they cannot hear
there is only one true living god and his name is job where god didn't call us to coexist
the brother of jesus jude said you need to contend for the faith he didn't say coexist, he said
fight for this truth
keep reading
he said snatch people from the fires of hell
from the ranks of the
atheists, from the ranks of the unbelievers
from the ranks of false religion
ain't no coexist
it's fight for the spread
of the gospel, it's stand for the
truth, it's hand off to our children the faith that came down to us in blood.
I want to run my race and run it well.
And not hand off to my four children a faith corrupted by perversion.
So our core devotion is all of Acts
242-47. Man, we're
fighting for that.
Our mission, you
don't got to ask me again. Matthew
29, 18-20.
We're all about that.
Our core
rejection, what we will not
tolerate
is anything that's antithetical to the word of God. our core rejection, what we will not tolerate,
is anything that's antithetical to the word of God.
The lies of the devil, we will not tolerate.
Anything that destroys the church, we will not tolerate.
Gossip, we shut that down.
Slander, we shut that down.
Sister, pray for him.
Your little coups, your little factions, we shut that down. Sister, pray for him. Your little coups, your little factions, we shut that down.
Being predatory in the church, we shut that down.
I ain't playing with y'all.
We come against anything that threatens the unity of the brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ.
So we see people out of order and we say, we're going to pray for that sister or brother.
My sister or brother, stop talking like that.
Pray for that person.
Stop being predatory.
Stop trying to destroy other people's lives in the church.
We come against what?
All toxicity and cancer we are the body
why do you keep punching it like a punching bag
and I'm not talking about
correcting people
I'm talking about the little things we do in church
to tear up a whole gathering
or leaders that be out of order
and nobody won't confront them.
I will confront them.
Our core rejection
is everything against the word
of God. I don't care
who's saying it. I don't care how popular saying it. I don't care how popular they are.
I don't care how many books they wrote or how many degrees they got behind their name. If it goes
against the word of God, it is the lie of the devil and we are against that. We reject that.
I will say something right now but some of you are going to get so offended.
Especially to a room full of black people.
We fight for the unborn.
We believe in biblical marriage.
We believe in the truth of the word of God without changing it and bending it
and rewriting it to tailor
our sin and our
comfort.
I bring my own
self under subjection to the word
of God. And Philip Anthony Mitchell,
I repent. I
gotta die. Watch.
Daily.
There is lust in me. Die.
There is jealousy in me. Die. There is jealousy in me.
Die.
There is covetousness in me.
Die.
There is envy in me.
Die.
I want his ministry.
Die.
You want that person's wife.
Die.
Die.
Die.
You got more allegiance to a political party than the word of god
not paying for no more abortions already been down that road we fight now for the unborn why
i jeremiah before i formed you in your mother's womb. I knew you. So there's grace for our past.
They in heaven now.
But there's wisdom for the present.
See?
And you don't like that.
I know you don't.
Because it don't fit your culture
and what your mama taught you.
But it's the word of God though.
The sanctity of human life
and the sanctity of biblical marriage.
See, I fight for that.
Y'all so terrified to say something on social media
because you're afraid of trolls.
I deal with trolls.
You know how?
I pray for them.
And I say, the Lord rebuke you in Jesus' name.
No, I'm going to fight for that biblical gospel
because this is the thing that changed my life. My man, Sean, we're killing this flesh like it's suicide.
Y'all need to get that boy's album. What's the name of that album? What's the name of that album
where it says we're killing this flesh like it's suicide. Welcome to eternity. You need to get that album.
Welcome to eternity by my man Shondy.
All y'all need to listen to the first song.
The first song, it starts out, we ain't going out like that.
We're killing this flesh like it's suicide.
I already know some of y'all like, man, that's the pastor?
I ain't coming back here next week.
I know.
Go find a place that keeps you comfortable in foolishness.
At the expense, we may not see you in glory.
But just hang out here for a little while. Let me get this word in you.
Let us get this love on you. Let us get this community in your life. Give us six months.
That's all I'm saying.
Like, I know you think I'm rough, and I am.
I am, Dr. Rigsby.
I know you think I'm rough, and I am.
You know why I talk like this?
I talk like this out of love I didn't even preach no sermon to you yet so you gotta come back next week
but your memory is
our core devotion
where's it found?
Acts 2, 42 to 47, that's the core devotion of our church.
Let me see how good your memory is.
Our core mission, where is it found?
Making disciples of all nations.
Last week we baptized them in the name of the Father,
Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Over 200 of them.
What is our core rejection?
What are we not about?
Anything that's antithetical to the word of God.
We reject that.
I don't care who it came from.
Reject it from the platform.
We reject it on social media.
We reject it.
I know that some of y'all are not going to come back next week and that's okay.
We're going to keep building a core
here that's serious about the kingdom
of God.
Whether it be
700 of us or 7,000
of us or 70
of us.
We're not going back away from this gospel.
All have heard it.
My heart
is my heart my tears
this is my prayer
this is my light
these are my meetings
this is my repentance
this is what I'm living for
this is what I'm teaching my children
this is what I'm living for is what i'm teaching my children this is what i'm gonna die for
i want to i want my life to be devoted to the cause that is bigger than myself
at the end of the day you could keep building all the monuments you're building when it's all
said and done you judge me the only thing that's gonna last is what we've done for christ
so some point in time your life got to get inside this stream of the gospel. Some way, somehow.
Serve it.
Pray.
Give.
Do something.
Oh, yes, give.
It's hot.
I'm going to be honest about something.
Never done this in 10 years.
Been a pastor for 10 years.
I've never been a money man.
Never did a capital campaign,
never begged people for money,
never did special offerings, nothing.
We just support the church by the generosity of the people.
We do staff, we pay bills, we take care of our kids.
All this stuff you see costs money.
We just trust God to supply our needs.
But right now, family, we do have a new need.
God has put in my belly a new baby it is the 28 an institute of theological learning.
Born of the fire of the Holy Spirit with fidelity to the word of God.
And I'm getting ready to have an interest meeting in a couple weeks for everyone in this room who feels called to teach so if you understand hermeneutics homiletics exegesis you understand the difference between the old testament and the
new testament you understand those 66 books you love this word of god you like to teach it you
like to unpack it you like to study it and go through it and break it you like to sit with it
and pray through it like you eat sleep and breathe this breathe this. I'm going to talk to you. I'm about to raise up a
core army of people to help me give birth
to the 2819 Institute
of Theological Learning.
By faith.
Why?
Because Sunday is not enough.
We want to have
classes where we're taking you through Romans
and we're taking you through New
Testament letters and we're going through New Testament survey and Old Testament survey.
We want you to understand who these people were that lived and died, not characters. We never
call them that real human beings that lived and died. We want you to understand dispensations
and biblical prophecy. And the next thing that's coming on the biblical chart man the
rapture of the church we want you to understand the great tribulation period and who the antichrist
is and why i think he's in school right now his spirit is in the earth
they don't believe that that's why you see them trying to get rid of cash and trying to make
one world currencies and everything's becoming plastic y'all don't even see how those pieces is being set up for the rise of
the antichrist and when i die i want to leave something in the earth that keeps training people
to take this gospel seriously even if it cost them their lives because it's only
gonna get worse and we want some firebrand theologians that know how to
stand for truth and can handle a non-believer on the corner or in aisle
four of Walmart you ain't gonna punk me down in the gym.
Who could poke holes in bad doctrine.
You're not listening, Kenny.
And watch.
And who will honor this word, why?
Because God says he has exalted us even above his own name.
I can't do that by myself.
So I'm going to rally everyone in this room
who feels called to teach.
We're going to raise up an army
locally and abroad
in Jesus' name.
Just by a show of hands,
don't play yourself.
Don't play yourself.
I know what exegesis is.
No, you don't.
If you understand hermeneutics, homiletics,
you understand exegesis, you know eisegesis is bad.
You love the New Testament.
You like to dig.
If that's you, just let me just see your hand.
Keep it up. Let me just see your hand.
Is that Yoshi?
All right, I'm coming. We're going to have a meeting.
Okay. The other thing too, I got to be honest about family Look at me
It's hot
Three years left on this contract
We do not own this facility
We're always at the mercy of the school
We love them, we partner with them
We provide stuff them. We provide
stuff for them. We want to be good stewards while we're here. We want to keep funneling money and
resources into their programs and helping the vision of the principal because we want to honor
them. But we do know that this is their facility and that our time here is going to come to an end.
And I'm going to tell you something. I cannot pray us out of here.
The bank don't care about the fact I got a ferocious prayer life.
And we live in a very expensive market.
10, 20 million for a
building. Now, I've never taught
our church that a building was the promised land.
We've been 10 years with no building because we've built a people.
We've built culture.
We have a ferocious volunteer servant leader corps.
I do not believe that a building is the promised land.
I do not believe that.
If the Lord never give us one, we will preach this gospel in schools,
anywhere he put us in barns
in the street until he comes back i will i will do that for him if he told me to
we'll grind it out for him if we told you to but every morning we got people showing up
five six a.m to set all this up and y'all go home and eat dinner and they got to stay here
break it all down we've been doing that for 10 years. It's time now.
So, we about to start something
I've never done.
Times a year.
We're going to challenge you to bring a very generous offering to this house.
We will do it in the month of love, February.
We will do it in our anniversary month, the month of October.
And we're going to start doing that twice a year for the next three years.
We're going to try to raise $5 million.
That's the minimum.
We're going to try to raise $5 million in 36 months
from inside the room.
I mean, like,
selling my Nikes to the cons. I mean like, selling my Nikes
to the consignment shop to say,
you know what,
I could put an extra $100 in the offering
during October and February.
Take the shirt off my back,
sell a chain I don't use,
pawn gold, why?
I'm not trying to pimp you.
And if you think I'm a pimp,
then talk to somebody in our church.
No.
I'm not a charlatan, I'm not about that life but i i do understand that for our institute for expanding
the gospel i still got this shoe in my hand for um you're trying to take my shoe thanks kenny
but but but for the next level of what we're called to do we're going to need some place where we're
not constrained like there's things we want to do and we can't do because we can't gather outside of this day so everything we do at our
church we got to rent facilities all around the city it drains our budget just trying to do
anything how come y'all don't do that where can we do it people be asking us how come y'all don't do that you want to buy us a building for us to do that
yes i'm believing for y'all to get a facility but you don't give though
see for us that got to change you can start by just being a generous percentage giver
whatever the lord put in your heart in the old testament that was 10
in the new testament as you are led 10 was the baseline but just you can start just being faithful
giver and then but in february and october we're going to come and bring a generous gift we'll save
up money we'll take our tax return whatever we got to, we're going to raise $5 million in 36 months.
Show us the building. It's in my spirit. I don't know where it is, but God has it for us in the city somewhere. And that $5 million, that's just a down payment. You say, well, show us the building.
It's in my spirit.
Where are we going?
To the promised land?
I don't know.
Watch.
Tell that to Joseph who had grain ready.
See, can I tell y'all something personally?
Everybody look right at me.
Stop waiting for your opportunity to get ready.
I don't know who this is for. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
The Lord says, get ready now
for the opportunity is coming.
Prepare now
for the opportunity is coming.
Write the book now
for the opportunity is coming. Start the podcast
now.
Something powerful happens.
Dr. Rigsby.
When opportunity meets preparation.
Let me repeat.
I don't know who this is for.
If this is for you.
Just wave your hand.
I feel.
Something powerful happens.
When opportunity meets preparation.
Just watch.
Opportunity will come. But will you be ready. When the meets preparation. Because watch, opportunity will come, but will you be ready when the door opens?
Some of you, your biggest issue is not failure.
Your biggest challenge is going to be success.
It's going to be the door opening.
You're not ready.
The door's going to open.
You have no prayer life.
The door's going to open.
You have no good friends. The door's going to open and you have no prayer life. The door's going to open, you have no good friends.
The door's going to open and you're not in community. The door's going to open, you have no team.
The door's going to open, you don't know the scriptures. The door's going to open, you save no money. The door's going to open and you have no discipline. The door's going to open and you
didn't understand delayed gratification for a season. The door's going to open. You're
not going to have no discernment to know who to trust and who not to trust. So I'm not
going to wait until the door open. We're going to raise grain and store up grain.
So when the door opens, we say, Lord, we are.
With me.
This thing. I don't know how, but by faith, we're going to do this thing.
I don't know how, but by faith, we're going to do this thing.
I know we are an army of mostly millennials and Gen Z's,
but watch us do this thing.
We're going to raise $5 million.
We might do it before the year's over.
I don't know, but we're going to do this thing.
Watch. Somebody watching right now, watch.
Somebody watching right now,
you can send a million dollar check,
but we're going to do this thing.
And if you think this is a,
and you think this is a gimmick,
keep your money.
Keep your seed in your pocket.
What's up? What's up? Hello, hello. 2819, what's up? Hello, hello.
So I just wanted to, you know, when my husband was preparing for, to come back today, I told, I asked him, I was like, honey, do you think you could just kind of maybe say a little special prayer over all the kids, you know, the families that have children going back to school?
And my husband was like, you know what, you do it. And so I was like, okay. And so I'm up here because I know a lot of us have
children who are going back to school. We may even have some college students, you know, people
preparing to go to college, high schoolers. And I just wanted to kind of just lift up a prayer for all of them. I love children. I love the next generation.
I deeply believe that they are highly intelligent, highly capable. I believe that they're so smart.
Like when I see my kids and their friends and like these kids, they pick up any kind of electronic
device and they just know how to use it. Like if there's something going on in our house. I'll be like, Joey, who's 11, how do you do this? And I
mean, all of them are like that. So I just wanted to kind of lift up a prayer for them
and, you know, wish them a good school year. We agree for all of our children and people
going back to school. All right. Let's pray. Let's pray for our children. Father, in the
name of Jesus, Lord, we thank you, Lord, for today, God.
We thank you, Lord, for the access that we have through you, Jesus.
Father God, I pray for every child that is in the 2819 community, Lord.
I pray for every teacher, every administrator, every person that has something to do with children, God.
God, I pray, Lord, your spirit will lead them and guide them, Father.
God, I pray for every child who's going to school, God,
that you will open up their minds, God, open up their hearts, God,
so they can understand, comprehend, and retain all that they will be learning, God.
God, I pray, Lord, that you would teach them, God,
how to respect the people in authority over them, God. God, I pray, Lord, that they wouldn't be rebellious children in school, God, but they
would be lights in their classrooms, in their hallways, God. God, I pray for all the children,
God, that are connected to this community, Lord, that your favor, that your protection, that your mercies and your grace
will just reside on them, God.
God, I pray, Lord, for every child with special needs, Lord.
Father God, they may be different, but they're not dumb.
And I pray, Lord, that you would send people in their path
to help them, God,
to not make fun of them, God, that you would send people in their path to help them, God.
To not make fun of them, God.
To not ridicule them.
But you would place people in their path that understand their language, God. And understand how they learn, God.
And that you would send teachers, God, that don't get impatient with them, God.
But will have patience to deal with them, Lord.
I pray, Lord, for every teacher that touches a child
that's inside this community,
for all the teachers,
and I pray, Lord, you will give them patience.
God, you remind them of the reason that they are teaching.
It's not for a paycheck, God.
It's not for a paycheck, God.
But they are helping to raise and mold
the next generation of leaders,
the next generation of Christ followers,
Lord. I pray, Lord, for every child, Lord, that is in high school, Lord. Father God, as their emotions
and their hormones are going out of control, Lord, I pray, Lord, you would settle them, God.
I pray for all the boys, Lord, that you would settle their hormones, Lord.
They wouldn't see the young ladies in their classes a piece of meat, God.
Father, God, I pray, Lord, you give them self-control, God.
God, I pray, Lord, you show the young girls, God, their value and their self-worth, Lord.
That they wouldn't be just running around trying to get attention from every Tom, Dick, and Harry like I did, God.
That they would know, Lord, that their self-worth and their value comes from you, Lord.
God, I lift up a special prayer for all the kids going to college, Lord, even my son.
As he embarks on this new stage of his life, Lord.
Father, I plead the blood of Jesus over every college student, Lord.
Father, keep them, God. Keep them close to you, Lord.
Don't let them stray too far to the right or too far to the left, God.
God, they will have freedom God but I
pray Lord that you will restrain that freedom God then you will own that you
will keep them on a leash father but I pray for their minds God that you would
give them wisdom God got our pray, that you would give them influence, put the different kids on their campus,
God. Father, I pray, Lord, the blood of Jesus will cover their dorm rooms,
cover their relationships, God. Father, God, I pray for divine protection over every child
connected to this community that's inside this spiritual family, Lord. We understand, God, I pray for divine protection over every child connected to this community that's inside this spiritual family, Lord.
We understand, God, that they are so precious in your sight, Father.
I love them, God.
I believe in these children, God.
I pray, Lord, your will will be done in their lives.
In Jesus' name, we thank you and receive it like it's already done.
It's already done it's already done
hallelujah everybody stands your feet you notice all your promise stills rain

Great is your faithfulness.
This is your faithfulness.
This is your faithfulness.
You've never failed. Sing that song, Your Promise Still Stands.
Your promise still stands. Your promise still stands.
Great is your faithfulness.
Faithfulness.
Your promise still stands.
This is what God promised.
Forever and ever. Lord bless you. This is my comfort. And I will never forget.
Lord bless you.

I love you.
Put your hands together.
