Starting point is 00:00:38 has generated nearly 30 years of rumors, conspiracy theories and unanswered questions. Now the mythology is about to meet the courtroom as the trial gets underway and Nevada prosecutors try and solve the mystery of who killed Tupac. And what really happened on the Las Vegas strip that night in 1996,
Starting point is 00:00:54 it's time to separate fact from fiction. I'm Anishka Matanda Dowity and for the BBC's Fame Underfire podcast I'll be inside the courtroom every day and I'm bringing you with me. Join me for Fame Under Fire, the Tupac Murder Trial, the testimony, the arguments,
Starting point is 00:01:07 the moments that matter, and all the legal analysis. Listen on BBC.com or wherever you get your podcasts. This is Five Live Boxing. We're greedy people in the boxing business and not content with having two World Heavyweight title fights so far this year in Britain
Starting point is 00:01:31 involving British boxers, including last weekend, Moses Etama. We've got a third one. Daniel Dubois against Fabio Wardley. It's the rematch of what so far has been the fight of the year. I'm Steve Bunce and this is Five Live Boxing. We will hear from the two fighters for what's been billed. The fight of the year returns, which I quite like.
Starting point is 00:01:59 And with the promoter, Frank, well, now, Frank, before we talk about Fabio and Daniel and hear from them, I've got to ask you, obviously, about Saturday night, Moses Zetaama, and up in the ring afterwards I talk to you about him when you make contact have you spoken to Moses? Yeah, I spoke to him a few times. He's away now having a will-earn break and I said to him, you know, just put it out your mind and when you come back,
Starting point is 00:02:22 then we can sit down and have the inquest or whatever you want to call it with a team and go through it with cool heads. You know, everyone's emotional at the moment. Everyone's got something to say. People have got nothing to do with it. Everyone knew everything. Everyone who was crying out for him to get in the ring with someone who's durable. Now screaming saying you've overmatched him.
Starting point is 00:02:41 How did he see him when you spoke to him? He's down, he's down, obviously. I'm pleased to know that, yeah. Yeah, he's down and you'd expect him to be. He wants to rematch, you know, all the things I'd expect to say. But look, what happened wasn't the plan, but for me, I look at it, and I think to myself, you've got to look for the, I know what's got to be addressed. I'm not stupid, I've been around long enough, and I know what I see, which was addressed.
Starting point is 00:03:06 he showed he's got a good chin, a very good chin, he showed you've got a great heart. I mean, even that last round, he was, what was he eight rounds up on all the cards, that last round, even when he was getting caught, he was far in back, he was trying to fire him back. 20 seconds for the end. Yeah, it was, so it was what it was.
Starting point is 00:03:22 And it was like, the first bell went, he got in the car, put his foot on the accelerator, put it in the overdrive, and just kept his foot down. And that's what he did. Exactly, yeah. He didn't, he didn't, there was no sort of watch out for the speed bumps that slowed down. No, just keep going. Let's have a brevo.
Starting point is 00:03:37 He just went 100 miles an hour. I mean, the rate he fought at and the pace he fought out was phenomenal. But it's about fight management, and it's about using your actual range. He's got great speed. He's got great coordination. I mean, he's very fast, but he was gassing out. And that eighth round, which he threw so many punches in that eight-round. And I said to him a few weeks before the fight,
Starting point is 00:04:04 so listen, you're going to come up against some guys. We're not going to go. Not going to fall over. And it's going to be a 12 round. He was determined to stop him, which was his undoing. In his head he wanted to stop. And I kept going to the corner saying, just slow down, get behind the jab. I said, if you jab, just keep him on the back foot.
Starting point is 00:04:19 And you negate a lot of what he does anyway, but it wasn't to be. The corner got a lot of criticism, yet there is clear audio of Ben saying to him. You don't have to go for the knockout at the end of the six and the end of the seven. So, you know, it's too simple. It's too simple, in my opinion, well, it's me thinking. that it's too simple to put the blame on one particular thing. It's like a perfect storm of this day and the other. It happens.
Starting point is 00:04:40 But listen, there has to be some adjustments. Yeah, of course. There's got to be, and I mean that in a big way. There has to be some adjustments. But, you know, we would do that with cool heads. And, you know, with us driving the agenda, not anybody else. And all these after-timers, and they're all after-tomers, because not one of them said before the fight...
Starting point is 00:04:59 How it was going to end. Bingo. None of them. Not one of them. They knew to the round after, didn't they? Because remember, when we announced the fight, It wasn't for the world title. Yeah, of course. It was, oh, that's a good match.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Let's see what he's got. And you think about the fight he had with David Adelaide and Joe Joyce. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, so that was the thought. And they asked for the fight, by the way. Yeah, by the way, yeah. They were, you know, they were. They fancied her.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Yeah, they thought he was a bit sloth. But the bottom line was, you know, and I said, I went with it. I went with it. I thought it'd be, you know, I knew he'd have, I knew he'd be fast and that, but he took some tremendous shots. And he was a tough. and he's prepared well for him. When I say prepared well,
Starting point is 00:05:39 his stamina and his strength because he was getting caught. I mean, I don't think he listed with anything, did it? No, I don't think he did, no. With anything. With regards to the rematch, I mean, this one, obviously, you know, you have to think about rematches,
Starting point is 00:05:52 especially when it's a bloody vicious ending. Would you, I mean, is it too early to talk about maybe it's too early for a rematch? Or is it? With Moses? Yeah, with Moses. What's your gut feeling now?
Starting point is 00:06:03 I wouldn't do it straight away. No. I wouldn't do it. straight away. But I was doing though. Yeah. Do it next year. I mean that makes sense to do it. And as for Big Philip, I know that you know you look after the two of them. Well he's with us but you know, well listen my heart was with Moses because he's been with since he's 16. Philip's come with us in the last couple of years but you know and he knows
Starting point is 00:06:22 out. I'm not being a two-faced get or anything. He's big enough to know. He's a big old boy. He's made it and we're with him and we'll make sure we do our, as we always do for effort. We do the best for him and and his next fight you know he was he won He's great history in his country. First heavyweight champion from Croatia. But there's some great fights. What we are doing at Queensbury, we're putting these heavyweight fights on.
Starting point is 00:06:44 We've got this one here with the rematches that we just said between Daniel and Fabio. Got Adjit, who's the WBC champion. He'll be fighting by the end of year. Then next year we put all of them together for unification. So it was a big. And Moses, I'm guaranteeing you, Moses will be involved in it.
Starting point is 00:07:01 You're backing that mix and it's like semifinals, finals. Yeah, of course. He's a very show people. Yeah. It's been there. Frank, let's talk about this. The fight of the year returns. First time round, an incredible fight.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Daniel over in the first two rounds and then coming back and then Fabio getting cut. Fabio saying, you know, Steve, I wasn't that hurt. It just looked terrible. I mean, from ringside, it was just brilliant. Maybe for the wrong reasons, but it was brilliant. Well, I was on the edge of my seat. It's one of the best heavyweight fights I've seen for years and years and more years.
Starting point is 00:07:28 It was exciting. And this one would be the same. The reason it would be that way because they're both big punchers. and they both know that they can hurt each other. Yeah. So it's going to be something. And I don't know any other way to fight. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:07:43 They're not counterpunchers. They're not counterpunches. They're talking bravely about boxing. They're not counterpunches. All they do is walk forward. So you're going to get, it's going to be exciting to fight. And Frank, was this one a no-brainer to make as a rematch? Or did you think?
Starting point is 00:07:55 No, it was in the contract before the fight. Fabio made a voluntary defense of his title. Part of that, the terms of that was a rematch clause, which he called on them. immediately. So that's why we are where we are. I caught up with Fabio and started talking to him about it. And, well, you know, it's Fabio, it's Fabio.
Starting point is 00:08:12 He's always clear. He's always honest. Look, from a boxing perspective or a boxing fan perspective is a pretty good fight. Analytically, for me looking in, yeah, I've got some gripes. I've got some issues, some problems, some things I'm not happy with. But they're all very adjustable as well. Well, happy in your performance, things that you did wrong or things that you just did. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:33 There's some very clear and obvious errors made there. But there's also some very clear and obvious things that did very well. So it's six of one and a half dozen the other. Try and not to get too carried away with, oh, I did this wrong, this one, this one, this wrong. And just working on both sides, doubling down on the things you did well and increasing on the things you didn't do well.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Did it surprise you how hard it was, how tough it was, and how tough it looked? Did that surprise you how brutal a fight it was? No, not particularly. I knew it wasn't going to be like easy, for example. Like, there's no way. Again, we're at the top end of the division. Olmli is one of the best fighters in the world.
Starting point is 00:09:18 He's fought some of the best, been in with some of the best. So, no, I never expected it to be easy at all. Did I expect it to go like that? Easier, easier, maybe easier, yeah, maybe a bit easier. But, yeah, did I expect a kind of war back and forth? forth of attrition a bit like that. Maybe not. But I was always prepared for something like that either way. So now you know how hard the first one was, has it changed in drastically or in any way your preparation for the rematch? Yeah, we've done some things differently this time around.
Starting point is 00:09:52 We've made some adjustments within camp stylistically, the way we go about things, the way we approach things. You have to. You have to, like I say, I've watched a fight back a bunch of times. So you have to sit down and be honest with yourself. What must be harsh with yourself and go, right? Where were my failings? And I mean that literally. Where were my failings? Where did I fail?
Starting point is 00:10:14 Where didn't I? I really hate looking outward and going, oh, well, this guy didn't do that in my team and this guy didn't do that. And he should have done his job and he would have done his job. You looked at your flaws. Yeah, like, oh, I didn't, if he would have fed me an apple every day at nine in the morning,
Starting point is 00:10:30 I would have won like these stupid little things. I don't play with those. That's just gazing. It's just, you're just passing the buck, and that's not really something I do. I sit there and go, you know what, I did this, I did that, I did this, and I will fix them. And when you've sat down and watched it and analyzed what you believe you did wrong, has that been alongside Rob, has that been alongside Ben, alongside Lee, or have you done it, sometimes with them, sometimes solo?
Starting point is 00:10:55 Yeah, I did it both. I did it with and without. I want to have, I wanted to have my own picks, takes, feelings towards it without any sort of inside of it, without any sort of outer influence. And then I want to do it with the team and kind of collate and grab together and get everyone together and on the same page. And we all threw in bits at it at what we felt went wrong and what we felt weren't right. Was that hard that thing with the team? Because I'm assuming everybody at that point, there's no need to hide things. Let's be absolutely raw and honest here.
Starting point is 00:11:27 You did this wrong. You did this wrong. You messed up here. I mean, you know, assuming that was the sort of language. Yeah, it wasn't hard. It wasn't. It wasn't hard because we're a very honest team. There's no, again, and we're all of the same mantra, there's no point pointing a finger at someone else and going, well, you should have done your job. Okay, well, you should have done yours. It's like, one, I take it on my shoulders, it's me.
Starting point is 00:11:48 It's my failings, my fault, and then they take it on their shoulders. As we, as a unit, as a team, we lost. No individual did more losing than the other or whichever else. Team. We as a team, we lost. We got some things wrong,
Starting point is 00:12:04 so we need to fix up and get some things right. And was one of the things you got wrong, Dubois, heart, guts, tenacity and power? Did you not underestimate?
Starting point is 00:12:15 Because I'm not going down that you were lackadaisical, but was there a degree of underestimation of what he could actually deliver? I think... The line I've used and will probably keep using is that I was a victim of my own success.
Starting point is 00:12:30 The only success I got led to me feeling like I'm pretty comfortable I can get this done with or without him the notions that he gives up or flakes out of fights whatever you want to corner
Starting point is 00:12:45 with or without that I was just like I don't care if he does or doesn't I've clearly got him down now twice I can get him out a third a fourth or fifth or six times I didn't really see anything stopping that but that added to me getting a bit almost carried away with myself
Starting point is 00:12:58 was there a point in a fight and can you remember it when you thought this is tricky now, this could slip away now, or did your confidence carry you through right up until the bitter end? Yeah, when I had one eye. That made things pretty tricky. You've got a bit of Monty Python in you,
Starting point is 00:13:13 you know, you'd have no legs, no arms, and you'd still be calling for a five, to be honest with you. You got a bit of that in you? That was an obvious moment where I could only see half of Daniel when I thought, this is making things a bit tricky. So that might have very well been the point.
Starting point is 00:13:29 In some ways, there's a little bit of, similarity we were having to Moses the other day, very early success, wobbling Hergovich in the first round, dropping him in the second and seemingly thoroughly in control. Was that a hard night for you watching Moses? Yeah, I know you're like, you and him are close. I know that.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Yeah, look, with the stable, mate. And across the board for him and for all the other boys in the gym, we're, you spend day in, day out with these guys. Shoulders and shoulder, training with them. And you see the work they put in and it's hard to watch. and especially someone like him in his particular situation of that fight of when
Starting point is 00:14:05 he was so far ahead and had it so in his hands and looked so great and so put together and it was fighting such a great fight and for it to not go his way in the end was hard to see that's probably worse
Starting point is 00:14:17 than maybe just losing every round and they're not going your way. Have he spoken to him since? I haven't, no. Reason being is because I know how I was was post my loss, and not to say I was down in the dumps and chucked my phone in the bin,
Starting point is 00:14:35 and didn't want to talk to anyone, but I already know that he's got 1,0001 messages of condolences, and I feel it for you, and da-da-da-da-da. And me personally, I was like, I don't need another one. Like, I don't need any more. Like, I get it, I thank you, I appreciate it. When I see him, I'll be like, hey, you did well and keep your head up and da-da-da-da.
Starting point is 00:14:56 But I'm not going to add another one to the pile of list of messages, he may feel like, because also in a way, this might be just a me thing, but you feel, almost feels a bit nasty to say, but you feel burdened with the responsibility of having to reply because they've reached out. And in a moment like that,
Starting point is 00:15:13 I know for me, example, I just want to chuck my phone away and just sit down. Go back to it in a week or two weeks. Yeah, like just leave it and stuff. So I don't want to add to that pile. Didn't enjoy losing, did you really very much? Me? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:24 I'm not known for being a very good loser. I'm not known for being a very good loser. It's the polite way of putting it. Across my family board games at Christmas and things. You don't lose there. Yeah. Never lost to a nephew yet. No, or a niche.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Or if I have, they've known about it. Fight of the year it was without a doubt. Will this one be fight of the year too? Or can it be? In a weird way, I hope not. I've really won a British boxing award for Fight of the Year. So if I go for two in a row, I don't know what that says about me stylistically. No comment.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Yeah, I don't really know what that says about me. but yeah, look, I'm an entertainer at heart. So I love great fights. I love fights that people want to talk about or people are memorable. But if I can kind of make this boring and not memorable, I think that's the preference. And leave it a tail.
Starting point is 00:16:14 And I'm looking at your face, that's all healed up. Your nose has always got the dark scarring across it. Has it been long enough, or would you have preferred another couple of months? No, if anything, it's been a bit too long. I was ready to go a lot, sooner than probably most of the world would have expected. And again, I think a lot has been made of the aesthetic of how I looked.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Yeah. But lots of blood. The actual real depth of the damage, in quote, very surface level. Like I've said already in multiple interviews, I had a couple of cuts, okay, but I left the ring on my feet. I didn't go to hospital that night. I went back to my hotel, I went to back to my bed like normal, just laid down, slept and cracked on my life like normal.
Starting point is 00:17:03 Nothing changed. So there wasn't nothing particularly special about that night. I know people just kind of see Daniel, see the size of him, we know how he punches and stuff, and people get really concerned, and I appreciate it. But I was perfectly fine. Does it feel, and this final question, do you feel different, and does this feel different,
Starting point is 00:17:22 how important it is, like the extra pressure on the wind, going into this one, compared to the build-up before the first one. If anything, this feels more natural. And the first one felt more different. Because of all the... First defence and that type of thing. Because everyone was on my side.
Starting point is 00:17:38 And it felt weird almost. Everyone was like, oh, you're going to win, you're going to do this. You're going to do it in a few rounds. It's going to be done. You're going to win. And I was like, okay, yeah. Yeah, not that I didn't have confidence, but it just felt strange to hear it from everyone.
Starting point is 00:17:53 From everyone else. When from the majority of my career has always been the opposite. which is back where everyone's at now. So I'm like, ah, okay, this is where I be. I'm sat back on the comfy place. Is it hard to ignore that chatter? Or did it become harder to ignore that chatter? It wasn't necessarily hard.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Like, I didn't feel like I needed to ignore it, nor did it feel hard. It just felt strange and different. And I was a bit like, oh, okay. All of a sudden, everyone's my best power and thinks I'm the absolute world beater. But I was just confused about the stark differences between one fight to two fight,
Starting point is 00:18:22 and people suddenly think I'm on top of the world. And I was like, well, And you prefer this more? You prefer where you are now? I think... Oh, it's a question. Do you prefer where you are now? Knowing you've got to win,
Starting point is 00:18:36 putting it, that's... Yeah, I feel so. Yeah, no, I like... I like it. I do like it. I like the... I like the underdog, the grit. They're like, yeah, come on, it's time to... I like the time...
Starting point is 00:18:48 I like to prove everyone wrong, because not to say I'm some sort of mental case or psychopath at all, but I keep... Why is everyone chuckling in this room? Yeah, true. The one's chuckling around is the one's closest to me as well,
Starting point is 00:19:02 so it's quite concerned. Michael's down the end laughing his head off. But I keep a bit of a mental note of kind of what the things people say in the build-up to a fight of like, oh, how they think it's going to go, or they think I'm going to lose and this, that and the other.
Starting point is 00:19:15 And then it's not like I confront them on the day or after or whatever else because everyone's entitled to their opinions. But it's just nice to know for me personally I lay in bed at night and go, are you wrong? You was wrong, you was wrong. You got it wrong, you got it wrong.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Yeah, that's good. And it feels nice. Your sales order says one thing. Your inventory says another. Your spreadsheet says, good luck. That was Fabio there. Now Daniel himself, now Daniel's been a bit of an enigma in his pro career. Let's get it right.
Starting point is 00:20:38 It's been an up and down roller coaster. But he seems, I think he seems more relaxed now than I've ever seen him. He's matured a lot. You know, I mean, mentally, he's the two-time world champion. Yeah, by the way, which we overlook. What Tyson's done, what A.J.'s done.
Starting point is 00:20:55 He's done it, yeah. He's done the same thing. So he's a two-time world champion. This is a big moment for him. And he's got a bit between his seat. I mean, in the ring, I mean, it's quite a surprise. He was doing the face off. Let's get this effing face off.
Starting point is 00:21:12 And he put straight into him. Fabio laughed at that. He's not what's going on? But Daniel got real close again. He did. Anyway, I did catch up with Daniel, and it's a particularly informer and relaxed, Daniel. Daniel, what does it mean to be the world heavyweight champion?
Starting point is 00:21:27 What does it mean to you? Just huge, I think this is what every fight is in this sport. I started to get to this level, and now I'm here. So it's, yeah, it's the pinnacle. After that last fight, the Dubai fight, you're the world heavyweight champion, you know, again, but you're the world heavyweight champion. When you close your eyes or when you try and close your eyes, you're just thinking through the fight, you're just going over and over the fight again and again.
Starting point is 00:21:56 Now and then, I don't look back too much on it. It was a bit... wasn't as clinical a performance as I would like it to be, but it was a great, great tussle or great war, and it was just what I need, and I feel like, just to get the cobwebs out and, yeah, pick up this nice belt. So is Daniel Dubois going into this fight, a better Daniel Dubois than the one that went into that fight?
Starting point is 00:22:17 Yeah, 100%. Smarter? Smarter, clinical, precise, and more of, yeah. Did Fabio surprise you of anything? on the night. Was he better than you expected or was he about what you expected? He didn't surprise me. He's a crowd-pleaser so yeah, he's not going to change much, I don't think. He can't change his style. He is what he is. I just got to be ready for, you know, when he's going to pull, he's going to come out blazing,
Starting point is 00:22:50 obviously, so I'll be ready for him. Because obviously the first two rounds last time, you know, he dropped you and he looked like you were in trouble. But there was some. firing you and is that when your dad is that when your dad came and told you just believe was that at the end of the second round or something like that i can't remember that i think he did yeah i think that's what he did i think he was just saying just believe that yeah yeah that yeah it was a messy sort of affair i think that fight it was just scrappy it was bloody like i said it would be it was brutal bloody nightmare and um yeah we're gonna get another one when do you when do you think
Starting point is 00:23:27 in the fight i mean you're confident you think you're going to win but when did you think in the fight? I'm going to win this. I'm going to do this. I've got him. I'm hurting him. He's losing a bit of power. Is there a point? Can you remember when it was then? Just, I feel like rounds, like opportunities were showing himself and I weren't taking them. I could have stopped him before the 11th round and it just went there and I was, I was a bit, you know, kicking myself a bit about that. But yeah, this time I'm going to be just that bit sharper, that bit, more precise. And then once you had him quite hurt towards the end
Starting point is 00:24:02 and there was lots of blood, were you wishing for the referee to come in? Did you think it should have been stopped maybe earlier? Was it the right stoppage? Because it looked gruesome from the other side of the road. Yeah, it was gruesome. I looked at him, yeah. Definitely it was a nightmare. It was bloody and, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:20 This time I'll do my favour and end it quicker. Dan, what a year it's been for British He was. Every way. So, you know, your fight of the year back in May with Fabio, you've got another one coming up. We had Moses Atama last weekend. Yeah, a great fight.
Starting point is 00:24:32 Unbelievable. Hopefully we'll get AJ and Fury. I mean, and the Moses fight was a great fight. I mean, that was quite unbelievable to watch. I mean, the ending was just, I saw you really seem to be enjoying it. Yeah, yeah. See, in Hulgovich, my old opponent. Your old sparring partner, you old, mate.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Yeah, yeah. He's a big old tough boy, isn't it? He's tough, man. You know that from the amount of shots you hit him with. Yeah, he's tough. And he caught me with shots. tough cookie with that experience and background and everything. So, yeah, it was good.
Starting point is 00:25:02 Did it massively surprise you the ending on Saturday? No, it didn't massively surprise me, but I feel, yeah, yeah, slow down Moses, didn't it? Yeah. So you're going into this fight as the heavyweight champion. You want to defend your title. I hate to throw it forward, but I've got to. What next stand for you? What might be next?
Starting point is 00:25:22 Might there be a Herkovich unification? Yeah, might. or one of the other guys holding the belt. Who was there the other day? Yeah. Agi. Agi. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Yeah, there's so many options now. I feel like, yeah, the belts are scattered, so who's going to collect them? And this feels like the sort of start of the second part of your career. Is that a thing? Yeah. This is it now. I'm the champion. I was thinking now, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:47 Six fights? Yeah, this is, yeah, six fights. That's, it's got to have that in your mind. Six, four fights. Three years. Yeah. Because it'd still only be what, 32 or something, wouldn't you? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:00 You're a baby, Dan. You were 21 for about five years. Do you remember? You were always 21. Been around for a long time, isn't it? You've been around for a long time, but you're still so young. Been around, yeah. What a business, eh?
Starting point is 00:26:11 It's a lot of experience, so, yeah. A lot of experience. Good, good experience, bad experience, but experiences. Yeah. They all make the fight, I don't know? Yeah. So this time around, you can make it easier against Fabio. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:26:25 or yeah well my team's got to get changed again that's the warning to the team yeah if it's not easy you're all sacked yeah don't Charles is not laughing oh you know what Dan it's been a pleasure talking to you man
Starting point is 00:26:47 it's been a pleasure talking to you for the last 10 years I mean that you've been a top kid man Dan listen thanks very much for your time I really appreciate that So Daniel's still here. You can hear the laughter. Don, so, I mean, there's a bit of a marker he's sent down there.
Starting point is 00:27:05 If I don't win properly, if I don't win properly, you're sacked. It's as simple as that. There's not wrong with that. Listen, it's a job. And if you don't do your job right in any walk of life, you usually get the sack. Oh, Dan, give him another chance. He's done. I don't mean that.
Starting point is 00:27:19 I know, no, no. I just don't have to take it. Keep it interesting, you know, keep it fun. Yeah. Listen, Don, it's been a pleasure watching you two work together back. It's an absolute pleasure. How's he been? Just last question in front of him.
Starting point is 00:27:33 How's he been in the build-up to this? Different? Like he said earlier on, he's a human being, confidence. Not a false one. Just confidence. He's a phenomenal fire. I mean, imagine he's not here. He's a phenomenal fire, in it?
Starting point is 00:27:47 Over the years, he's given us so much. I'm going to say that you mentioned about his age. You've monitored his growth, his development. I think the public have to re-look at what this young man has done and it's still doing. You said it's about halfway through his career. Look what he's done already. Honestly, the future is so bright
Starting point is 00:28:04 and we just stay disciplined, stay-hungry, stay disciplined. Might have 80 more years of Daniel Dubois. Eight more years, Dan. Don, thanks very much indeed. So Daniel there, Frank, joking but not joking about having five, six, seven years left in the business. that only take him up to 35 or 36.
Starting point is 00:28:25 29, as far as the heavyweight's concerned, he's a youngster. He is a youngster. Tyson's 38, U640. Yeah. He goes about 37 or whatever. Yeah, same thing, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:37 What a year, can you, three world that you would have promoted? No one's ever done that. No, no, no, no. You think with Don King had all them. These guys didn't fight as regularly as we're making. I know. We're making these fights happen.
Starting point is 00:28:48 That's been our mission statement from the beginning. Heavyweight division, get in there, get the guys signed up, and make these fights and push these fights. We went 20 years from the mid-80s to the 90s without one British heavyweight title fight, title fight to the country. We've done three this year. You've done three. Well, you ought have done it at the end when it's over.
Starting point is 00:29:07 It's nuts, isn't it? There you go. Listen, dare I ask you about the other heavyweight thing? You can. How are we looking for you in Asia? What's the latest? The official position is not changed from Tyson. Tyson is signed.
Starting point is 00:29:19 His contract specified where the fight took place. The contract specified that there was no involvement from Zuffer. He said, forget all that. He said, I don't care where it takes place. I don't care who's sitting on tables, who's not. I just want to fight. I'm signed and he's done. He's done.
Starting point is 00:29:39 So we're just waiting for AJ. So if it doesn't happen, and if AJ... It's because AJ doesn't sign. He's not contractually bound to sign, by the way. He can use that if he wants to use it. Because of his other contract. Now, Frank, we'll tie some fight in November. This is what...
Starting point is 00:29:54 Is that true? He's going to fight. He's in Miami training, right now. All right. What a time, eh? What a relaxing time. You need to get yourself a nice little holiday somewhere. He needed to get a holiday if you can, so.
Starting point is 00:30:04 I need to do something. Frank, thanks so much for your time. It's a pleasure. God bless. So that must be about the 15th pod in succession where we've talked about Fury and Joshua. Sure, we're getting a bit bored. Sure, we might all turn out for it.
Starting point is 00:30:17 But right now, there's a little bit of fatigue. fatigue creeping in, but I tell you where there's no fatigue this weekend.
