Starting point is 00:00:00 Happy Tuesday, everybody. Happy Tuesday. I hope you had a fantastic weekend and a lovely Monday full of the fair, the beer fair. I certainly did. And also, it would have been everyone's Halloween for, you know, spooky season? We're sick of saying that, actually. I'm sick of it, yeah, boring now.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Anyway, how are you? fabulous and having a wonderful first week of November getting right in a bootz it for Christmas party season No, Zoe Anyway, on this episode We're going to be speaking a little bit Well, a lot about what's been a lot on your plate
Starting point is 00:00:45 Because we feel like we've not done it in ages The past two weeks when we've asked you All you've said is about the live show And we're sick of it So we're just going to go through your dilemmas Because there's a lot People have been waiting to tell us these things We've been waiting for a friend, a helping hand to get it off, their chest, do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:01:04 And can we just say that we are absolutely in no way, shape or form qualified to give you any proper advice? We're just your friends giving you what we would probably say if we were sat in a room together. Absolutely. Fuck him off. Get him off. What now? So, yeah, we've also got a little bit of feedback from other things that have been discussed in previous episodes. And then we're going to take a big deep dive into some other things that we've been loving in the past.
Starting point is 00:01:28 bonus episode so please stick around for that make sure you like and subscribing you there's lots of good reviews. We've not had one of them in ages actually. We've actually not, we shouldn't need you ask. I know. Do you know what I mean? We surpassed the 1,000 reviews which we begged and made you do
Starting point is 00:01:44 before we came into season three. And then everyone's just sat back put the feet up. Yeah that's not good enough to be honest. We have no idea what it means or does but we just like to read them. I'll defend the listeners. There has been some comments on the Spotify. I just don't think you see them. Well, what do they say? A whole pot of, obviously.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Well, maybe you could share them with us, gee. I could do that, yeah. That would be nice, wouldn't it? By the way, I'm just discussing here the reviews on Apple Podcast. I don't even listen to this podcast on Apple Podcasts. I don't even listen to it on Spotify. I know you don't look on Apple Podcasts. Why is that, please?
Starting point is 00:02:15 Because there's the reviews there. Right. But the most of the big reviews are on Spotify, and gee is gatekeeping the positivity. That's very true. If there's anything negative, we don't, we're not here for it. No, no. It doesn't exist if it's negative. Okay, I love that.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Well, maybe you can share with us later on, G. I've got a spit of swally for his guys while he's looking for them. I went to Dublin again. Dublin. You're never going to wait for there and you don't even like him? I mean, I still don't like him. No, it wasn't that bad. I went there this weekend because some of my friends were competing in high rocks,
Starting point is 00:02:45 which is a competition that everybody... CrossFit Bankers. It's actually not CrossFit. That everyone in their dog is doing it at the moment. But, yeah, it was interesting weekend. We had fun. but one of my friends Laura she said to me
Starting point is 00:03:01 Jess have you ever tried these honkidori crisps the buffalo honkidora crankle crass I was like no I'm not actually I've tried the potatoes have you ever tried the potatoes I can't with that accent I think that's quite good Honkidora crust
Starting point is 00:03:17 and she said to me you need to try the buffalo honkidori crisps they're the best thing she'll ever chase in your life does she actually speak like that no that's more like Dublin I think She's Northern Irish Anyway Go for it Zoe
Starting point is 00:03:29 You got a chewing gum in your mouth No I don't But I do with a bit of a minty breath She just took a crumb out of the bag I thought they've got a bit of a creamy aftertaste I love crisps I think these are just like McCoys But she said that I specifically had to get
Starting point is 00:03:49 the buffalo flavoured Let's give it a go Oh, you're fine, chatt I like them They're sort of sweet They are like The Thai sweet chili McCoys I'm iconic
Starting point is 00:04:06 Like in a greenie packet You can't beat them You can't you? Do you mind you could get them In the vending machine at quiz? Yes And when they were in there Everyone was like, whoa
Starting point is 00:04:13 Do you know what else I saw the other day Did you used to like snacks You know the little cabberries snack? They are good aren't they? They're really. really, they are underrated. We've actually been buying them recently. Have you?
Starting point is 00:04:27 Which is weird as you say that, yeah. And my friend, Haley, has managed to somehow, she's not telling me either. She's like, I'm like, why are you gatekeeping that? She's managed to get crispy rolls. Where's she getting them from? B&M. B&M?
Starting point is 00:04:39 Do you ever go into B&M? Yeah. Not often, man. I go on every week. I love being M. Sorry. You do live next door to it. I do, and I also, I just don't think.
Starting point is 00:04:52 you can be a wee wander around being in you do end up buy a load of shit though don't you oh you buy loads of shit I'll never leave there without like three candles some sort of cleaning device that I don't need and like we always look for like what's the new sweets but it's not new it's actually old sweets
Starting point is 00:05:08 that they've brought back just like discontinued or something yeah so you'll get crispy rolls in there all right then when I'm going to have a little look at that then anyone can give me the crispy world gosh sending my whoa um so yeah what's been a lot on your plate quickly let's just discuss anything you've eating that's good
Starting point is 00:05:23 eating at the weekend on Saturday I went out for lunch at Tintletapas Nunningston nice been there before we've spoke about before I just don't think you can beat it it's an easy lunch
Starting point is 00:05:37 wee bit everything you know yeah it's nice there I do think everything's quite rich though I mean I don't have a good belly at the best of times but I feel like even halfway through your meal you're a bit like whoa I feel so full yeah you've not actually eaten a lot do you know what I mean
Starting point is 00:05:49 and then on Sunday I went out for a Chinese at night because some of my family from England were up. Nice. Where did you go? Right, it's a bit bizarre, right? It's a Chinese takeaway in Bell's Hill. I'm really showing like the council in me here. But actually it's got a wee like restaurant part in it
Starting point is 00:06:11 but it's not like, it's got like three tables in it. But the food is unbelievable. What's it called then? I don't know, my family just called David's because the guy that owns it's called David. and my nan and papa get writing about like the staff
Starting point is 00:06:26 that they always get to know the staff of places mostly because they go at the same place over and over again for like a period of time so when we went there but the food is really good I actually had soup to start
Starting point is 00:06:37 like a Chinese soup yep chicken and sweet corn soup nice I don't think you can beat that but I would never choose in a takeaway because I think it's filling yeah but I was quite I had to be chill in me
Starting point is 00:06:48 so I was like let's get some soup got that it was really good and then I had crispy, shredded chicken which was in a sweet and like tangy sauce that was so good by the way with some rice and some chips anyway that's what I had to eat this week I mean dust
Starting point is 00:07:09 I don't know means I went to naked soup yesterday and if anyone's been to naked soup it's just the best lunch spot on planet earth and so he had nothing she asked that and ate a bagel in a soup on my own so I know but it's I don't mean dust because like skinny I mean just because you've had a bit of a bad time I meant you this weekend the last week I made homemade soup and I don't know why
Starting point is 00:07:35 I keep doing it but it just does not agree with me in my stuff I could have been six months pregnant for a whole week and I just need to try it I told you I'm going to get them you've said that for me for four weeks and by now you've got health mind have been slightly better right well i'll actually order them today and i'll send you a confirmation please do but anyway i've just been having a bad time so i'm going to try and not eat bread as much as i can
Starting point is 00:08:02 um what else maybe like is cut out dairy as much as i can i don't know things like that yeah see what the problem is because my skin is a disaster i've actually got adult acne again i'm not being dramatic anymore i'm it or not it looks all yesterday but it's the good things for you is that They're really small. They're not like boils on your face. They're small because they're coming from my neck. They're that fucking deep. See if you touch them,
Starting point is 00:08:28 it's like an actual hard lump in my face. This doesn't look like it when I'm looking at you now. And it's all around your jaw area which indicates potential hormonal gut. It's not on you like your cheeks or your forehead. You know what I mean? Anyway, I'm having a terrible time. That's true, Jay.
Starting point is 00:08:48 I have Dr. Jess is in the house. No, it is true. It is true. When it's around that area, that just sometimes indicates hormonal. No, that is hormones, but I think it starts to go a wee bit up, which it is a wee bit on the side now.
Starting point is 00:09:03 It's going up the cheek. It's definitely got a problem for me because it also, I also get really bad urine infections at the same time. It's definitely all connected. Can somebody out there who listens to this podcast, surely someone knows somebody that knows somebody? That can help me.
Starting point is 00:09:17 That can help Zoe with this flipping urine infection. And de-manos isn't going to help. Don't tell us about to go to a doctor because they're not, they're useless to her. I've been private and everything and nothing helps. Like, I cannot be 27 years of age and nearly pee myself all the house, like it's not okay. And you're an infection?
Starting point is 00:09:34 Do you reckon you're just saying that because that's what it feels like. Do you think it's something else? I really don't know, but when I went private, they said, like, I had an infection and my urine when I did a test and all that. And they said it might be that any time I went to the doctor, they've given me like three-day antibiotics,
Starting point is 00:09:49 and that's not enough to kill the infection so it's like never actually fully going away and because you're kind of messing with it with antibiotics but not giving it the chance to go away it's kind of coming back worse every time but then I took what they gave me and that didn't help either but I just can't be in my living room
Starting point is 00:10:06 not even needing the toilet in the next minute and I'm running to my bathroom like that's not for me so antibiotics are really bad for you going out and also see if I'm out and about sometimes actually I'm panicking what because you want to know there's a toilet I think I'm wouldn't start
Starting point is 00:10:21 being unhappy my god imagine it's god's sake sorry um I need to just talk about something from last week's episode
Starting point is 00:10:31 why did none of you two but a pig did actually message and say a pig a piggy why did I say about paranoia paranormal
Starting point is 00:10:45 and I said paranoia and none of you flagged it I did catch that what the fuck do you I did that when did you even say that you were in the flow I'm in the flow of it I said do you believe in paranoia
Starting point is 00:10:58 not paranormal activity what the fuck is wrong with me I don't know what's that when I said that and I'm sorry I thought I knew in my head that I thought I was saying the right thing and I also want to say that last week it was actually jokes on listening back
Starting point is 00:11:12 I says oh you know I'm never going to get Botox again or never said that I just said I think I'm not going to have it for a while. Did I book the next day? Yes, I did. So I've had Botox, so yeah. I've also, I've also clipped Zoe saying she's not going to have a drink until the first week in December, so we'll see. Yes, yes, yes. Do I have a night on Saturday yesterday? Oh, so you do. Oh, we chat so much waffled, it's hilarious. But, yeah, I just thought I'd be straight up with you. Yeah, I had it. I booked the next day. Good for you. Honestly's best policy. Yeah. But anyway, I would say that's been what's on my play emotionally and physically to be honest
Starting point is 00:11:48 like me as a person I'm in an emotional state about it at the moment yeah um anyway that's me what about you um so for me um what I've been eating I had some nice food in Dublin nothing that can really stands out to me
Starting point is 00:12:04 what about the roast it was bang average it was the roast I'm serious about having my roast on the Sunday it hit the spot but the gravy was like water but it was nice it was nice enough um six out of ten i'd probably give it um there was one place that a lot of people recommended to me in dublin by the way for a roast and it was called just bear with me while i just find this because i because a lot of people a lot of you guys told me about it
Starting point is 00:12:29 so i went to a place called the legal eagle and it was lovely very nice staff very nice ambiance pub vibe exactly what you wanted but the place that everybody told me to go to like 80% of people told me to go to was a place called the old spot for Sunday lunch I did try to book it that morning but it was the Dublin marathon and there was just no chance we got
Starting point is 00:12:54 we got in so if you do go to Dublin you want to roast go to the old spot I've heard good things but I went to a place called the legal legal it was nice but average do you know what I noticed by the way you in particular
Starting point is 00:13:06 but we have also been in places when it's a marathon quite often I know why is that remember we were in London and it was a marathon. And then we were in Amsterdam. And it was the marathon. And I noticed that someone had posted
Starting point is 00:13:20 that was a double marathon. I thought, she's chasing that. Yeah. You will never catch me doing one of them. Let me tell you that. Went to a play to called Bread 41. I went there last time I went as well. It was really nice.
Starting point is 00:13:32 It's like a bakery, really, really nice croissants, everything you could imagine. But it also had an eatery upstairs. We went there for brunch before they ordered high rocks. That was really nice. We also went to an amazing place the day before. Can't remember what it's called, but I will share all of my story for you.
Starting point is 00:13:48 I've been doubling twice. I do have a highlight, and I will add the Google Map link. I still need to do the Amsterdam as well. I'm getting pested for that. And then, emotionally, well, I've actually been having a wonderful time until yesterday. I decided that, you know, got myself some new trainers. Went to the Nike outlet in East Kilbride and got myself some running trainers because the hawkers just aren't doing it for me.
Starting point is 00:14:10 They're like running on stilts. I'll be completely honest with you right now. I've not attempted to run on them. So you just wear them just for jokes? These are on my feet because I'm going to walk home from here. Yeah, so you are. So these are now my walking trainers. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:24 I don't need running trainers, so I'm not going to run. Yours are different to mine though. Mine are definitely higher in the step. They're like chunky... Do you think? Yeah, it's a different style we've got... You've got different ones to me. They are still pretty chunky though, aren't they, if we're running?
Starting point is 00:14:39 I mean, maybe I'll give running... I can't really try and run. home no because I've got going to have a big puffer jacket on do you know what I mean? Now just do a power walk same thing same speed maybe you'll answer this right actually it would be the same speed
Starting point is 00:14:54 see if you walk enough of a distance is that the equivalent results as a run do you know what I mean? I know what you mean and it gets misconstrued in terms of for health benefits you could say hey it's going to be good but if your actual fitness or cardiovascular
Starting point is 00:15:10 or whatever walking is never going to do what running does ever but if it's a case of moving and getting your steps in and all that, then yeah, it's the same effect. No, but I want to be a different person in five weeks, so I need to run rather than what. If you had the choice, run, yeah, but walking's good what you do. It's too dark to run. I know, well,
Starting point is 00:15:28 which is why I'm coming to this? You know where it's no dark? In the morning? In the gym. Run on a treadmill? No. Running on a treadmill is even worse. I'm bored. You don't need to run, do something else. I am bored. I know. So, when I always went to high rocks, I had so much energy the morning that they're all doing it. I don't
Starting point is 00:15:46 know why it was because I was pumped for them. I was excited to watch them. And I actually went into the hotel gym. We got back, went for breakfast, came back and I actually ran 5K on the treadmill. I thought, I had to release some energy. I don't know what was up with me. I was like a juroricell bunny. And it was the best 5K I ran in a long time, just wanted to keep going. And I actually usually hate treadmills. So I thought, great stuff. Got to the airport on the way home. And my AirPods are broke. So I've bought myself the fucking. best headphones I've ever purchased in my life. They are the new
Starting point is 00:16:16 Bose wireless, ultra like silencing ones. They came out last week, apparently. I went into that just a motion shop. You know the ones that you get in the airport? And I said to them, I want the best headphones that you've got, but don't want ones that go from my head. I don't want ones that are like 600 pounds. They were still very expensive, can I add, but
Starting point is 00:16:34 worth it when you use them every day. So I've got these new headphones sick. I got these trainers from the night store. And I came home last night and I thought I'm going to actually go for another 5K run I'm going to smash it two minutes in did I trip and fall smack on my face yes I did
Starting point is 00:16:49 humbled me so fast I was laying there weak crumbled going oh no one was around it was pitch black I shouldn't have done it it was stupid of me but you left my house and I said we're not going to go around for a run now it's actually dangerous
Starting point is 00:17:04 you went no I know look it's fucking pitch black it was half five but I was just you know when I was I really want to get into it I really wanted to because when I was driving back from you I saw people running and walking their dogs because it was still only seven o'clock i thought oh i'll just do it two minutes in and i've really hurt myself guys like i've actually really hurt my knee i've got a cut on my hand my elbow sore i'm really upset with myself is that god just telling me just to continue being a fat fucking cow for us in life sending me to do marathes in different cities
Starting point is 00:17:35 not doing it try and you do something good well i'm really upset everything is a list and learned, right? So next time when you're fit, you go when it's a bit brighter and lift your feet off the fucking ground. I know. How did I manage that? And you know what?
Starting point is 00:17:51 Steven's sadder, like, I actually felt sorry for myself. I nearly cried at one point because it was in that much pain. You know when the pain hit you on the floor and like, I was actually looking around for someone to help me.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Limped out like. Help! Help me! So, yeah. But if someone was, they'd be mortified. No, at one point I thought I'm so glad no one saw that I know I'm surprised
Starting point is 00:18:16 usually you would just bounce up and be like fuck let's pretend that didn't happen but that shows how much pain you were actually in it was a real real real full do you know what's even funny the good thing is Apple Watch works guys it said full detected and it was ringing 999 on my watch
Starting point is 00:18:30 I know and I kept hearing it going Not you get a fucking ambulance because you fell scared your knee It was doing like a really weird like noise like bing bring bring and I was like what's going on with my watch and it was like calling like emergency SOS thing. I was oh my God, so dramatic.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Also, how weird that it does detect those things? Yeah. Also, on the note of Apple Watchers, I'm not wearing mine anymore. I spoke about this briefly before. It's a lot of shite. And do you know what? See, after a workout and you think,
Starting point is 00:19:01 oh, should have been more than it? A lot of shite. Yeah, it is a load of shriek, right? That's demotivating. I just like it for step count, to be honest. Yeah, that is quite good. But also, if you're going at your actual big water, walks and runs, your phone does it just as accurate probably anyway.
Starting point is 00:19:13 Yeah. It's just not getting your steps like to, but from the toilet and things like that. You are right. Which don't matter anyway because you're not like, do people know that? That even if you hit your 10,000 steps that you're apparently meant to hit, it needs to have been with purpose. Do you know what I mean? Your heart rate needs to be up a certain amount.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Yeah, there's no point hitting 10,000 by like... Just moping about your house? Just mope around office or something like it needs to be that you've been out. Like pound in the pavement? Yeah, and I actually worked up a bit of heart rate movement, you know? Yeah. Listen, we've had this podcast for, what, nearly two years? Well, year and a half and we've done fuck all about it with my name's a good.
Starting point is 00:19:54 I set and lesson every week. That's just my life. Listen, we're boss bitches, gee, shut up. I never said you. Right. We're boss bitches, but we're still fat. Fat boss bitches. Love it.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Right. Right, let's get into people's dilemmas Who else is a fat cow that we can't No, it's really funny about that The most time both of you spend in the gym Is to come and record the podcast Yes That's embarrassing
Starting point is 00:20:29 Oh well Right, let's get them up There's lots actually There is Right Oh God, I hope we can take this series Seriously. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:44 A lot on my plate this week was having my usual night-time shower, washing my bod, quite the thing, and my bracelet catches on my nipple piercing and basically pulled my full nipple off. You're just off. I feel a bit. Funny about that. What?
Starting point is 00:20:58 I want to touch my nipples when you're still. Hanging on by an absolute thread of skin, standing the shower, fucking clueless what to do, blood's gushing everywhere. My boyfriend is at the football, so I'm home alone. Got out the shower and phoned my mum to come and help me,
Starting point is 00:21:10 but none of us even knew what to do. I couldn't touch it because it was giving me the bulk and couldn't let her touch it because it was agony, so we had to phone. Help me, mum. So we had to phone 1-1-1. No. I'm explaining my situation to this,
Starting point is 00:21:26 poor woman on the other end of the phone and she's like, I recommend you to come to A&E. No. I was like, FS. F-S. Not my cozy night myself and I had planned. However, they say to me on the phone, I think you should try and get the bar out
Starting point is 00:21:39 because if it swells and the blood dries out. we will struggle to get it out. The nipple were. Me and my mum have to go to her to get my dad's toolbox out and get a set of pliers. Shut up. A dad didn't do it, did he?
Starting point is 00:21:57 I couldn't even have my mum do that. No, no, I couldn't. Fucking mortified anyway. It saved her trip to A&E in a nipple stitch and she seems to be healing well. I'm gutted dough it made my small tits at least look a bit cute. Oh, at least.
Starting point is 00:22:10 What, less cuter? Or it's made them look cuter? No, the nipple piercing made them look better and now that's a goner. She's got a ripped nipple. I do love girls with no boobs with a nipple piercing, do you?
Starting point is 00:22:22 Look so good under like a t-shirt. I don't say everything. I mean... Okay. It's not that I don't, but I think I quite like it through the t-shirt, right? I don't think I would like it. I don't think I like it without a t-shirt.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Yeah. Oh, I think it's sexy. I don't think, I think maybe, I don't know, it's something about the bars, a bit aggressive. But that tongue piercing bar, that is aggressive, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:22:57 Also, the balls even worse. And I hate that people play with it in their mouth with their teeth. Do you know what I mean? Yes. Anyway, that's disastrous. Yeah, we're really filthy there, honey. Hope you're naples, okay.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Right, anyway. Went in a night out with my pals blacked out as I drank way too much and woke up the next day to a wet circle on my carpet in the bedroom Sounds familiar I'd been there before
Starting point is 00:23:21 Had no idea Neither did my pals Who'd stayed over that night in my flat My boyfriend came home the next day And turns out I had pissed myself During the night And went back to bed No recollection whatsoever
Starting point is 00:23:34 Safe to say my boyfriend was definitely angry with me So she's got up our pals are in the room And she's pissed on the carpet That's you That is me, I've done that before and you're not alone. That is actually you. Someone's put...
Starting point is 00:23:46 Someone put moving into partner's home and not enjoying their interior taste. I would need to do it up. Yeah, same. I couldn't live in a space that I didn't like. I think that would affect me. Do you know what I mean? It's very important to be able to sit down at night,
Starting point is 00:24:01 get a candle on, and feel cozy and at home. Yeah, and make it feel like it's a bit of yours, should I say? Yeah. Someone's right here. I keep bumping into my first love childhood sweetheart from 10 years ago there is a reason that is happening there is Zoe
Starting point is 00:24:18 or you just live next to each other and hang out at the same pubbinger she obviously doesn't if she keeps doing it recently from 10 years ago I would explore that more I love how it on two completely different levels you both are today usually it's kind of closed
Starting point is 00:24:39 but this is like I'm in one of those moods I'm like not to anyone's bullshit like I'm not having like any of this like fairy tale length and things like not today not today is for factual information only and you're bumping into him because you obviously live close to each other
Starting point is 00:24:54 or you hang out at the same places it's the only solution I'm sorry I think it's meant to be darling you keep you keep doing it homesickness always worse in the winter Glasgow feels so far from Essex do you ever feel homesick Nah.
Starting point is 00:25:10 No, I used to for the first few years when it was times like this where it was everyone was getting together I said this before October to December is like party season in your hometowns
Starting point is 00:25:20 or you go away with your groups of your friends Christmas is all about family and your friends Christmas nights out and I think for that I had serious FOMO but that was probably before
Starting point is 00:25:30 I got a really good group of friends up here that I would say class more as like not my better friends from back home because they're different you know what I mean? obviously childhood friends versus new friends but I just don't feel like I miss out and if anything I've sort of got my friends from down there
Starting point is 00:25:44 to come up now so I think it's just trying to find that balance of just going home when there's something on that you want to go to making sure that you're not missing out, staying in touch so yeah I just think maybe just communicate with your friends a lot more FaceTime's go home
Starting point is 00:26:02 get them to come up Glasgow's way better than Essex Glasgow's way out there We've just established it. Someone else has put, my ex-style follows me and likes my stories and it's breaking my heart.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Block them. Not but seriously. Yeah, but if it's breaking her heart, Zoe, there's obviously still feelings there. Why are they split? Do they want to get back together? No, I know. But the message that we have received
Starting point is 00:26:28 is my ex still follows me and likes my stories, it's the liking of the stories that's breaking her heart. So if that's reminding you this person bringing back feelings upsetting you. Stop him from being able to do that. Yeah, but why is it upsetting her?
Starting point is 00:26:42 Because she obviously still has feelings. We don't know the depth of violence cut up, right? And he has feelings with her then, so let's just... Or it's a toxic guy who just likes the rest of both worlds. I think you need to remove him as a follower or block him and then give yourself some time and then see how you feel. Because this is just social media, like playing games. Yeah, that is true. It's causing her to feel this way. It's quite toxic, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:27:02 Or it doesn't let you move on. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. It's a bit of a head. Head fuck. Head fuck is the right word. Yeah, takes always advice on that one. If it was me,
Starting point is 00:27:12 I'd probably message him like, hey, you still like me? I absolutely would not. On another note of a guy, this is cute, and this is something that I would really appreciate when first seen someone.
Starting point is 00:27:26 Someone put, met an absolute gem of a guy who brought me a care package when I wasn't well. I love that shit. Love that shit. He's a keeper. So thoughtful.
Starting point is 00:27:34 Gee, would you do that? Depends what stage is really. I feel like back in the day you wear that guy. I think you were a hopeless romantic, J-Dog. I would say that. You would? Aw. Jenna told us that.
Starting point is 00:27:48 There was a really romantic story she told us once, but I can't remember what it was now. We'll find that out and then do it next week. Told my friend, I felt like we were in a one-sided friendship. I always try and she doesn't. Her response was to trauma dump, ignore my attempts to reach out and then talk about her our issue to everyone but me i'm sorry but what she's just proved my point lull i think
Starting point is 00:28:12 you know your answer yeah why is this person wanting to get attention from other people about your issue and not speaking to you directly about it he's an attention seeker and she is not your true friend couldn't agree more i also do i think though there's nothing worse than feeling like a friendship's one-sided yeah i've been in a few of them growing up and i think you do get to a stage in life where you just think fuck this you become such a yes person and the moment that you start saying no to people and start understanding your worth as a friend
Starting point is 00:28:44 you get that energy back from true friends in your life that makes sense you can't always just give out something and not and expect it back you need to be mutual both sided and things I also think you then overcompensate because you start
Starting point is 00:28:59 doubting yourself as a friend and then that just when you kind of realise that it is one side did you almost like not regret all of that but you feel like a fucking tit do you know what I mean yeah so I would definitely try and have it out with her but it's not very nice that she's going around speaking about your issue to other people that aren't that isn't you yeah I feel like one last text could be and like an idea just to say look I know you're obviously not want to speak about this this is how I feel this is why I'm letting you know because I would have wanted to sort this and I don't appreciate you
Starting point is 00:29:30 talking about an issue to everyone else but me so it's up to you whether you reply to this or not And then if she doesn't reply, that's it. Yeah. You've done your bit. My boyfriend is diagnosed with depression a year ago and has changed. Sometimes he can't get out of bed and doesn't go to work. Last minute you can't go to social events we've planned and we had to cancel our holiday in the summer. We fight all the time and then I feel guilty because I know he's going through a lot.
Starting point is 00:29:52 I don't know how to tell if a relationship is over or if we're just going through a hard patch. That's a difficult one. I feel like depression in men is a very difficult one because they are such confusing. characters where they don't really speak about their feelings to anyone, anyone, really. It's kind of like a pride thing for a lot of then, yeah. And then I do feel like the person that they're closest to always gets the brunt of it or feels it the most because they want to be there for their partner, but they find it difficult to express their feelings.
Starting point is 00:30:23 I listen to, well, a friend of mine actually listened to an interesting podcast either day and she said that it was all about like how men and women are obviously very different when it comes to emotions and they said that if you want to ask a man how they feel don't ask a man how they feel ask them what they think and they can process it a lot better so let's say there's a situation like how does that make you feel a man wouldn't like that i don't think well a lot of men probably wouldn't like that they wouldn't know how to process that word feel but if you say some what does that make you think or how do you how does that make you think they can understand that question a lot better and i thought that is actually very interesting
Starting point is 00:30:56 because i think if i spoke to richard he would answer that far better by me asking him what he thinks, then he feels. What would you say, Jo? Yeah, exactly what you said there, but guys care more about things and women care more about people. Yeah. That's the key thing. So feelings and all that go along with care about people and empathy and all that, where guys care about not so much fact stuff, but actual things and tangible things that can, that's how guys process information. So if you ask them what they think, they can give you an answer like that rather than how they feel, whereas our women's obviously more in touch with her feelings. Yeah, and that is just how we are designed.
Starting point is 00:31:31 But going back to obviously with her, where she said that she feels like maybe she can't understand if her relationship's over or I wouldn't give up on him. No way. Like especially when someone's in a real deep, dark space in their life and you're like their saving grace at the moment, I would just try and be there for him, trying to understand maybe get him to speak to somebody that's like maybe some sort of therapy or a friend or someone that isn't anyone that he knows that is impartial to the situation that is currently in at the moment. and I know it's maybe hard to try and get a man to speak to a therapist because they don't like, you know, be in touch to that emotional side. A lot of them don't anyway. But I think once they do do it, they're like, oh, wow. I think it's a hard one because depression is very real
Starting point is 00:32:12 and it's obviously prevalent in men. But people also change. And sometimes when somebody's through depression, they come out of their side different. And the problem is if you get together with somebody and they're a particular way, you're always chasing for them to return back to how they wear. And they might just be a different person.
Starting point is 00:32:27 And sometimes that's hard to accept. And you don't want to be like, oh, I'm leaving. somebody because, oh, they were depressed, it's not because they're out, like, people do a change. Yeah. But you're also, you're also chasing what the relationship was in the beginning. Yeah. I mean, it's not that now. So, that's hard for both the guy and the girl, to accept that, you know. Yeah, that is hard actually. How long does she say, you should be with him for? She said that, 10 years when I make that up. No, she's not said a time period. But I also just feel like,
Starting point is 00:32:50 I wonder if she has said to him yet that this is how she feels about it. Yeah. Because I know, like, it's him that's obviously really suffering, but she has, too, like, off the back of it. So even if she said to him, like I know you're going through a lot, Marba, but I just need and want to know if it's anything to do with a relationship or if that's putting a strain on you or, do you know what I mean? Because he might say, I know I'm being different just now, but like I'm trying my best and it's nothing to do with you. And then she'll know that it's worth kind of being there for him, do you know what I mean? But on the flip side to her, like this is starting to then affect her mentally as well. She needs to just make sure she keeps an eye
Starting point is 00:33:26 that because you wouldn't want that to and you'd both be in that situation and it would be really difficult to get out of that one. I think if you could try and get a third person involved even if it can't be a professional like is there a parent that could help? Or does he have a close friend that he can find in? Because with them it's always
Starting point is 00:33:44 going to come back to their relationship. Yeah. And not actually maybe the root of the problem. Yeah. Or the kind of general feelings, you know. Tough one, yeah. Keep us updated with that one. us know. Right last one. Not a dilemma but it's my boyfriend's birthday early December and want to do a gorge night away somewhere in Scotland. It's his first birthday as my boyfriend
Starting point is 00:34:08 so want to treat him. He spoiled me for mine and took me to creep for a week. Loll, I can't do that but need some recommendations for a Scottish winter night away or asking the podpigs would be great. What's your suggestions? Well Richard's birthday behaviour. It's always annoying because I always buy his gift on Black Friday weekend and it always arrives late because you know everything's backlogged. Or deliveries like, yeah. Um hmm
Starting point is 00:34:33 honestly we were talking about this in our group chat weren't we? Why are men the most difficult people to buy for? I didn't actually respond because I kept typing it and thought I keep doing this to Jason but they just need to enjoy jammies and I cause you sotting you've got no bother. Yeah, see Richard's a hard know of that one.
Starting point is 00:34:49 It's the wee things. You need them to like the wee things. They don't like if he doesn't like the wee things. I think... He likes wee shorts. Wee shorts. I think a night away in Scotland a nice cabin, cosy cabin
Starting point is 00:35:05 away, there's loads of them. I went to, I think it's a lot loam and hideaways it's called one time. And that was really nice. I had to get an outside bath, a barbecue. I don't know that's not very wintry, but we did go in October, November time, I'm sure. And it's like cozier that get
Starting point is 00:35:21 outside and all wrapped up and then you want to like the wee cabin. I see where is, look, I know this is expensive and it is, it is what it is, but Glen Eagles, and I know it, it is extortionate, but if you try it on a good day or a weekday, that was definitely one of the best overnights I've had because it's got the spa,
Starting point is 00:35:39 it's also got the golfing elements. Then if they like that, you can go and do clay pigeon shooting, you can ride bikes. The service is impeccable. Like the grounds is amazing to go and walk on. There's just so much to do for both male and female, if you're both into different things
Starting point is 00:35:53 as things that you could both go and enjoy while the other one doesn't do something else. The Gales Hotel and Irvine's nice as well. Oh yeah, you like that spa, don't you? Yeah. They used to do really good deals, I don't know about now, but they've got a spa that's got like a little kind of thermal pool in it.
Starting point is 00:36:09 You can get treatments and stuff as an outside, like a hot tub. And then it's down at Irvin Beach, which is a really nice beach. Yeah. So you could go there for the night, go to the spa. There is actually a golf course
Starting point is 00:36:19 of the man or you run into that. and then there's that good old coffee Oh yes That's nice Which is really good for breakfast You could go there like the next morning A wee walk along the beach That's a nice way overnight
Starting point is 00:36:30 St Andrews as well Gorgeous place There's so many things to do I want to go to that in Rusick's Hotel Yeah that's nice That's nice That place you went for dinner Well you had the oyster that time
Starting point is 00:36:40 What was that called I don't know but I'm traumatised by that And what's the gorgeous place that I love The farm shop I can't think what it's called I don't know the place we went on that adventure that was really nice oh my god why's my mind gone blank the five the five coastal path me and zoe we did um the balgo vlada that's right and it's got the steak
Starting point is 00:37:03 barn yeah amazing farm shop and then you obviously got the beach you could got the st andrew's golf course you've got the st andrew's um hotel spas there are amazing there's just loads of nice little places they can go for like brunch and stuff um and then there's also a website that I've worked with recently last year and it's called Go Rural I will share it on my page actually and I did an amazing stay in some cabins and you can also
Starting point is 00:37:29 do the farm experiences as well at the same time so it's great if you have children as well but it's also even if you're in a couple because the one I went to was adults only with my mum and that was one of the best cabin stays I've had had a jacuzzi on the middle of the farm overlooking the Loch Lom and it's just amazing and
Starting point is 00:37:45 great prices as well because all family run small businesses so just really cute. And then I think if you're thinking maybe like Edinburgh, the Scotsman Hotel's really nice. Stunning. The Virgin Hotel. Virgin Hotel's amazing. Even... The Doubley Hotel's opening soon with the Sushi Samba.
Starting point is 00:38:01 That is. Yeah, that's opening in November. Sushi Samba's opening in November, isn't it? Yeah, actually end in November. Me and sorry, got invited to the opening. Can't you wait. And another one that's got a really nice spa is the Sheraton. Yes. That's got that one spa. and that's got like the infinity pool on the roof and stuff like that
Starting point is 00:38:21 so that could be a nice option as well if you'd like a wee spa yeah quite a lot of thanks what's the what's the hotel with babo inside uh Charlotte the don't remember really nice hotel the kimpton house of gods yeah which is also coming to Glasgow loads of options there if you hope that helped yeah that was quite a good options
Starting point is 00:38:40 I want to go on an overnight I know we should why don't we go in one is a girly trip Cameron house has the um Cameron house has the new rental lodger lodges, don't they? And Glen Eagles have got rental lodges now. Yeah, they all have lodges actually, you're right. And then when you go in the lodges, you can use
Starting point is 00:38:56 the facilities, obviously, like the spa and the restaurant and everything, yep. Oh, that's good. Another place actually just remind me of it, I went to, is Okrani. Where is that? And you get the ferry over, St Aaron. Nice. I'd love to go to Aaron. And it's got you've got all different lodges or you've got the hotel and again, there's a couple different restaurants, big spa, swimming pool, all that. And it's like a nice walk-round way, like
Starting point is 00:39:16 village. Wow. We getaway. you know. Wow, so hopefully that gave you lots of options. I think that was plenty, too much. That was to be fair. Right, well... That's us for today. Thanks for having us.
Starting point is 00:39:33 There's been a lot on people's plates. We actually had a lot more, so maybe we can save some for next week's episode. Right, and I guess we'll see you on Friday. Thanks for listening. Thanks for listening. Bye! Bye!
