Starting point is 00:00:00 Let's get ready to rumble. Happy Tuesday, everybody! Woo! Hello! The sun is shan, the weather is sweet, yeah. Although it's not sweet, it's just been pissing it down. I was just looking out two seconds ago and I thought, fucking hell that raining out sunny.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Rainbow in coming. How are we Zoe? I'm good thanks Jess how are you good we were just discussing that she we haven't seen each other since the last time I've recorded and she was getting all jealous because I was with other people not her that was eight days ago
Starting point is 00:00:41 do you know that that's long for us that's definitely been the longest for a long time but it was your own fault you said you hated me so what's been a lot on your plate this week Zossey? Physically I've had like a few lunch outings at Have you now?
Starting point is 00:01:00 Have you now? Ones that I were not invited to, it seems. You were a fucking gallivant around Spain. Hmm. Not I mean? Anyway, but one I did go to and enjoy was homegrown. Gorgeous. The garden centre, which I have been to before.
Starting point is 00:01:15 But me and my friend both got just soup of the day. It's my own red pepper. Can I beat it? Gorgeous. The worst possible thing that I could inhale, but here we are, because it also came with bread. Anyway, that was delicious. was delicious and as I was there they'd a bit of Christmas going on in the garden centre.
Starting point is 00:01:33 Did they? Decorations and I thought I'm ready for this. I saw they had really nice like ceramic pumpkins you know the ones that are like your plant pots but... I don't, I think the Halloween stuff was gone. We're on to Christmas in there. Right. They'd little like you know wee ceramic houses that you'd put like a candle on. Oh nice. Cute. I love it in there by the way. Yeah it's really small but... The actual chef that cooks in that kitchen there.
Starting point is 00:01:58 is amazing. Yeah, by the way, the food, that is really good. Yeah, it's really good. But I really enjoyed that, and I feel that kind of kick-started my, like, summer's over, let's accept it. Soup season. Yep, soup season.
Starting point is 00:02:12 It is, soup season, it's back. And I just don't think you can beat a bowl of a soup at my bit of bread. No. With big, like, chunky butter on it. Leurpack butter. And you can see your teeth in it. Oh, and you dip it in soup, and it melts it.
Starting point is 00:02:25 Yes. You mean the teeth marked in the butter? Yeah, I really enjoyed that. I love that. Because, do you know what? Butter-wise, if I was having toast or a sandwich with something else on it other than just butter, I could go without.
Starting point is 00:02:44 Yeah. There's nothing better than a big plain slice of white bread with butter. But see if I had toast with ham or something, say. I wouldn't necessarily put butter on it. But see if it's just butter, you have a lot. And it melts in, it's all that, like, kind of soggy way. And then the other place that I did eat, which is maybe not as aesthetically pleasing,
Starting point is 00:03:05 is Bar West and Hamilton. Right. I'm not expecting that. No, same. Where is Bar West? It is just... I wonder what you mean, just on the corner, the crossroads bit, yeah. The bit of the time when we saw that cat in the road.
Starting point is 00:03:22 And I nearly had a heart attack. Yeah, that time. So I was walking back from the post office Saturday. and Jason was like, you can really smell food to you and I was like, it smells really good and I was like it'll be Bar West and that used to be his
Starting point is 00:03:34 you know stop in the ground when he went out drinking that when I was younger but he said owners changed it all changed blah blah blah so anyway then we fancied lunch yesterday
Starting point is 00:03:43 because we didn't have anything in and I was like why did we just try Bar West fucking loved it what did you have we shared chicken Piccora and Haggis Fritters
Starting point is 00:03:52 to start and then I had like a kind of goose on chicken salad wrap with chips and I had sweet chili sauce and mayo on it and Jason had a burger and then he got chocolate fudge cakes Of course he did
Starting point is 00:04:06 But see the menu, what a variety Right See if you're around this area, honestly Bar West it is Bar West, absolutely I mean I'm not looking about and going wow it's lovely in here It could definitely be doing my wee revamp
Starting point is 00:04:21 and I think what's a shame is I think it's had one um so i mean it should I have yeah sorry I apologize listen you give them a shout out
Starting point is 00:04:35 that's good I'm heighting up I mean and that's honestly five minute walk from my flat like what a great thing to have on your door to it we just want a wee bit of chicken
Starting point is 00:04:43 piccora or a wee salt and chili chicken with ice like honestly the menu was great I was that way no I was that way that I was like overwhelmed
Starting point is 00:04:53 which you guys can her face she's like a jessier cat I couldn't decide what to get anyway that's what's been on my plate for both the options quite a contrast yes although you can have many personalities
Starting point is 00:05:07 oh my earrings just come out oh well um perfect so while we're just talking about um food because we've got a lot of food to discuss today we've just been diving into
Starting point is 00:05:21 let's just begin by saying I love an almond quasson, okay. I am a wheat berry bakery stand, which is basically a bakery here in Glasgow, but they only wholesale to really nice little cafes around the city. One being Lateria and Udingston, big up, Latiria, I love you so much. And I think they do flat white coffee.
Starting point is 00:05:44 You're in a little van. They also do the Udington's Food Market, and there's a few in south side and some and center. Anyway, I've always said there's been no better quasson, almond quasson than theirs. and I still stand by that. However, at the weekend, paper cup is a really nice coffee brunch place in the West End if it opened in Motherwell in the recent months.
Starting point is 00:06:06 And I went and got a takeaway croissant for my friend, bit into it. I was like, what the holy fuck, that was insane. So this morning, finished my PT. And I thought, what better to have post-workout than an arm and croissant. So I went and got his one. I was going to go to Latira and get a wheat berry. but I didn't I went to paper cup they were fresh out the fucking oven
Starting point is 00:06:27 they sat in front of me now and I had to stop eating before I had a legit food orgasm on the podcast but the inside of that is actually seeping out it was fresh out the oven and I said to them I wanted to know I thought maybe it's a wheat berry one
Starting point is 00:06:43 but they went they didn't tell me where it was they said they don't they get them in but they make the almond stuff themselves that they put on top and inside. They must inject it inside. Must have because it was fresh,
Starting point is 00:06:57 it's warm, it's hot, it's crispy, it's flaky, and well. It's also, I like when there's that bit of like powder on top. No, guys, that is fucking amazing. She obviously had to fucking spoil it
Starting point is 00:07:15 and said he didn't like gooey shit. I got him one with a coffee and he's like, no thanks. I'm saving it for Jenna because, you know, we know she'll eat her. Spoil sport. I was just trying to be nice and get you an ice now. Yeah, whatever.
Starting point is 00:07:28 But you're really missing out because, guys, get yourself to paper cup, try and time it when they're freshly out the oven. I promise you, there's your morning orgasm sorted. Something that everyone's looking for. I know. Well, what's been on your plate physically? Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Well, maybe you should start with emotion. if it's going to link. I miss my boyfriend, guys. Oh. Fucking hell. Emotional? Yeah. I really, really fucking miss him.
Starting point is 00:08:00 I miss him too. Do you? I actually can't explain it. I'm like a heartbroken little puppy. That's why I'm spending time with all my friends, Zoe, because I miss him so much. I did actually think that. However, it's good to speak about your feelings, Judge,
Starting point is 00:08:12 because I told me. I know, but do you know what it is? I don't really spend much time at home on my own, do I? He does. Well, I think the thing is, most of the time if when you're at home he's there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Oh, I know he's there. I know he's somewhere. He's here. It's win. It's just that settlement and I can't explain it to you. There must be something psychology with this but I can't sleep. I wake up in the night I wake up panicking. I was fine in the hotel though when I just went away which is weird.
Starting point is 00:08:41 But in the flat I can't sleep. My cats fucking hate me. My cats hate me. They don't like me. They miss Richard. And yeah, I just, I don't know what it is. I don't sleep very well. It's maybe it's contentment. Something I've not realised maybe, but. The sleeping thing is because you're
Starting point is 00:09:02 used to someone being there. Even if you touch or not touch anything, you're just used to that. Because if you hear a noise in the night, you'd be like, did you hear that? We'd have seen no one else to say, like, that's me, I'm gone. Yeah. I just don't feel safe. And I think that's what it is about, like, I'm not really someone to gush, I know a gush over Richard, like to you guys but I'm not I would never sit there and say when I'm away I'm miss my boyfriend I've never been like that have I really no but genuinely really really miss him yeah I do I know I know I said I know why why because he's because I have to shove the litter tray because it's always you it's a way that's what I mean you've been away longer than he has this time before for him because you're
Starting point is 00:09:40 always away busy but now you've got the chance to sit and actually miss him yeah that's true that's how he feels every time you go away yeah because I do always you just always text you in a way doesn't he, like, really misses me. And I'm like, oh, fucking... No, I don't. And I bet you've been doing that to him? Yeah, every morning. Every morning, I'm like, one day to go.
Starting point is 00:09:58 I actually can't cope with it. I know it sounds gushy, but I just can't wait to see him. I'm obsessed. Well, then I go to Paris. I'm not going to see him for like a month. Well, it would have been like a month. Well, we've still got quite a while until you're really 19th. He's not back until the 19th, but I go away on the 19th.
Starting point is 00:10:13 So the 22nd is when I was seeing him. Which, by the way... Is there his birthday? Is my birthday? which is when this episode will come out. Yeah. Not seeing a party hat anywhere, but that's fine. Zoe, we're going to celebrate on the 22nd. Anyway, and Jess is going away on my birthday.
Starting point is 00:10:31 I know, sorry about that. And do you know, I actually have, I have nothing to do on the day off, like the day of, like the daytime. Come to Paris? No. Like my one friend who doesn't have a job really either is away. Sorry. I'll make sure that when we record on the 22nd, it will be the most special day of your life.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Okay, fine. You're happy now? Yeah. So, yeah, that's all that's been in a moment, really emotionally. My cats hate me and I miss my boyfriend. And I just can't wait to see him. I'm obsessed with him. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:08 But by the time, this podcast comes out, I'll probably fucking hate his gut. So, yeah. That's it, really. And then the, yesterday was, Amazing. So I've just come back from Rioja, Rioja. In Spain, I went on an amazing brand trip with Campo Viejo. I'm sorry, I flew in Spanish, sorry. And it was a really amazing full circle moment for just Jess food. I used to love the wine. I still love the wine, but obviously I drink different kinds of wines now.
Starting point is 00:11:41 But that wine was the one that actually got me into drinking red wine. I think a lot of people probably picked up that bottle in supermarket because it's very popular. but actually being able to go to the vineyard itself, it's huge. The people are the fucking coolest people on earth. The brand is amazing. The marketing, everything that they set up, it's harvest season, which means that every year for like two months of the year in Spain, in that region, they harvest all the grapes, basically. And it is just huge.
Starting point is 00:12:11 And what they did for us, and there was me, other sort of lifestyle, wine experts, food experts in the influencer if you like way not everyone was focused on Instagram there was YouTubers there was people really cool people from Spain as well that were there that I didn't know obviously
Starting point is 00:12:28 but I was with a UK group and they were amazing really interesting people I learned a lot about the wine and got to taste all the different kinds I love they do an amazing pale rosé by the way which you would love which I would never think to do yeah I would never even you would normally go for a French
Starting point is 00:12:46 Provence, wouldn't you? In like a, if you were picking a really nice pale, you would think to go for a French wine, but the Riyocca wine was amazing. Ryoja. Yeah, you should. And then they did all different kinds of reds. A white was really nice as well.
Starting point is 00:13:02 I'm not really a white drinker, but I really enjoyed that. And then we went for a tapas tour in the evening. And then in the day, Spain's youngest Michelin-Star chef, chef, they had got him in. to do an amazing six-course tasting menu, paired with the wine. But the reason I was there was for harvest season,
Starting point is 00:13:22 but also there's a limited edition special bottle being launched at the end of the year, which I'll probably post more about in October. And we were there for that, and they partnered with an artist, famous artist out there, and he designed the bottle. Artsy. Artsy? Yeah. It was very edgy.
Starting point is 00:13:39 It was very edgy. So it was an amazing trip, only 48 hours. The people were lovely. I was a bit nervous because I was going on my own, and they wouldn't share the guests with me. But apparently, according to everyone that I spoke to, they wouldn't share the guesses with anyone. So I thought it was just me.
Starting point is 00:13:50 I was like, why is no one telling me who's going? But they were fine, they were lovely. So yeah, that was an amazing trip. However, I flew direct Edinburgh to Santander, which was great. And then it was a two-hour journey from there. But coming home, they couldn't give me a direct flight, so I had to stop in Dublin.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Not a problem, short flight both ways. And my flight was delayed in Santander, which meant I missed my connecting flight in Dublin. Dublin. Yeah. Of course it was Ryanair. I got to the desk. We know how she feels about Ryanair. I cannot explain to you the rage I was shaking. I've voiced noted Zoe after like I nearly wanted to cry because I can't believe somebody could be that rude to you with zero empathy or zero just anything. It's like their contract says if you want to work for Ryanair it's okay to be a massive see you next Tuesday. You can be it. Like we want you to be
Starting point is 00:14:46 that. Maybe the top, top, top, top owners are the same owners as Zara. Definitely. Because it's given... But can I just say that the... I never really had a major issue with any of the actual air hostesses. It's the ground staff. Like the airport staff. Yeah. She was so rude to me. And you know what? There was a guy behind me as well. I felt really sorry for him. He was a French guy. He didn't speak a word of English. But he was kind of hovering over my shoulder as I was at the which she was like excuse me give this lady some space and he was like and anyway she came
Starting point is 00:15:21 afterwards i obviously left and he it was his turn next and she went the woman went i don't speak french and then she went don't come over to me i don't speak french either and i was like i actually cannot believe you've just said that to this poor man he obviously had no idea what they were saying because thankfully he didn't understand them but i was like and what were the irish no no actually they weren't irish she was she sounded like she was maybe from Spain but I was in Dublin but wow absolutely appalling behaviour by the way
Starting point is 00:15:49 and she looked to me and got up to the desk and excuse me I've missed my flight and she went well it's not my problem I shit you not those words came out of her mouth and I was like and I just went why are you being so rude to me and she sort of didn't know what to say back and I was like I'm just telling you that my flight was silly
Starting point is 00:16:08 but you should leave at least four hours in between flights I went no no no I'm telling you your Ryanair flight was delayed which means I've missed my connecting flight at this airport and she went oh sorry I thought you meant that you've missed your flight now I went well yeah I have actually missed my flight as well now but she still she went well I'm really sorry it's still the same she went you still should have kept at least three to four hours in between your connecting flights why would you keep three to four hours in between when you only get to airport two hours before your flight and I only had hand luggage and also I didn't book it
Starting point is 00:16:38 and also it wouldn't have been a problem if your flight wasn't delayed so yeah she was just so horrendously rude to me. I had to pay a hundred euros and then I couldn't get the flight until half eight at night. So yeah, left my hotel at 9am in the morning, didn't get home. It's to Glasgow, in my bed until like 11, which was sound. Anyway, so it wasn't a problem. I was actually pretty calm, apart from her rudeness. But if it was up to me, I would never fly with Ryanair again. The only thing that keeps me liking them is their social media team. I'm obsessed. Have you seen their Twitter? Yeah. Have you, do?
Starting point is 00:17:11 Ryanair's Twitter and Instagram. is the best they need a raise. Now they have been told it's okay to be that. Well it's funny, like people who find things at that too far need to work. Yeah. They get away with it because they can. Everyone can't turn the place
Starting point is 00:17:27 you can fly. But anyway, boring. Enough about them, giving them air time. It's along the same line, so I think I know you're talking about now Ryanair, but you've ever seen people on Facebook who change their name to the brand? Like, say somebody went on one of these community pages and was complaining about
Starting point is 00:17:43 Asda or something, they change their name to Asda customer services and give them this fucking belt out of response and then the person, you can't even speak to me like that. Oh, I see, that's clever that. It's a little bit of an amazing, like proper amazing. But basically, that's Ryanair, but it really is then. I've seen a few of them now.
Starting point is 00:18:01 That's so funny. Right, so physically I went to Maiden's Beach with some friends last week and we took the Uni Pizza of when I made pizza that was really good. I've got both uni pizzas. I've got an electric and a gas and, sorry, a gas and wood pellet.
Starting point is 00:18:21 The wood pellet one I wouldn't bother with. That's too much of a fath, but the... What, do you need to actually, like... It should make a fire? Yeah, and the wood pellets are just, it's just messy, and the heat isn't as easy as just as connecting it to a gas. I didn't actually do it, to be fair. Rebecca and Heather did.
Starting point is 00:18:37 But, yeah, I would say it was a lot simpler process. Pizzas were great. got the pizza dough from an amazing family-run Italian deli in Udingston called Pietro's Italian Deli. They do these pizza boxes with muti, you know, the proper Italian tomato pasta sauces. All the freshly made dough, all of the Italian sausages, salami. Oh, was that? What was that? It comes as a set.
Starting point is 00:19:03 Love that. So it's really cool. That's ideal. Yep. And they wholesale their sausages to all different kinds of places around Scotland. and then ate a lot of amazing tapas when I was away
Starting point is 00:19:14 What was that thing You posted about the mushroom place Zoe, no no no So on the tapas store Thank the Lords above The one of the stops Was a famous mushroom place Which some of my followers had messaged me
Starting point is 00:19:31 Saying that James Martin has recently done a thing about A new food programme about it They are apparently The most insane mushrooms ever and they have them with loads of garlicky butter and put them on this toasted bread I know, weirdos
Starting point is 00:19:45 but it was sure but the other one was open and people were at that place and I was like I actually don't understand how anybody could eat three piled mushrooms on toast unless they were the magic kind then that's totally fine hi Jenna Jenna we've got you a prezie
Starting point is 00:20:04 we've got you an almond croissant with a freshly baked one on paper cup because G wouldn't eat it So he said you would Oh so it wasn't for me It was for G I'm sorry yeah But
Starting point is 00:20:14 Thank you so much That will be getting The monster right now You're going to love that because it's so good Okay Yeah so I didn't eat the mushrooms But if anyone is in that region
Starting point is 00:20:25 And you like mushrooms Then you must go Because they were apparently amazing And then finally I went to a new brunch place in finished thing called kudos kudos Never heard of it
Starting point is 00:20:43 Brand new K-U-D-O-S They do an unbelievable Asai Bowl Oh yes, I saw you talk about this And I'm going to need to go Because I'm now on that hype Yep, it was very, very good Consistency was there
Starting point is 00:20:59 Yep, not as good as Oku Duh, but it was good It was good for Glasgow Right The rest of the brunch was average. I don't mean that in a bad way. It was good, but it wasn't the best brunch that I've had in Glasgow. Yeah. But I really enjoyed the Asai Bowl and I really loved the service and I loved the interior and the exterior. It was a lovely, nice, small business.
Starting point is 00:21:24 And then I went to Ramandaio, Raymond Deo. No, the fact that I still say Raymond, I can't fucking get it out of my head. Nothing has ever been funnier than that in my whole day. I think Raymondeo sounds way better than Ramandayo. Ramandio. Ramandio. Ramandio. So I went there, that was great. I had the most beautiful noodles. Where was that? I went to Hot Pod Yoga in Glasgow and I went there straight after. The gym girls. Which you were invited to? I don't think I got invited to the Hot Pod one.
Starting point is 00:22:02 You got invited to some sort of yoga? Yeah, it was reset. Yeah. which you didn't reply to me on. No, I said no, I think. So, yeah, so you can't complain. And that's the new places I've eaten. Oh, and Paper Cup, Motherwell, brunch, excellent.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Highly recommend. Quite a lot of recommendations there for food. We love it. But can I just say, the reason I have a lot of recommendations is because I'm too miserable to eat at home on my own. What the fuck is wrong with me? I just need to eat out every night. I'm eating out again tonight as well.
Starting point is 00:22:33 I'm not staying at home. I refuse. Right. I did see, there was one night you were in and you posted your dinner on your page and I thought, I can't imagine making up your good meal on my own. I thought, of course she was. And you did. Yeah, so I had a lovely night in on my own on Saturday. That was actually nice. Watch Top Boy. Shit, by the way. I'm really disappointed with that.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Are you? Well, I hadn't watched the first couple of seasons but then Jason was watching it and he wasn't up for waiting until I'd caught up. So I watched the third one or whatever one it was. and I think if I was a fan I wouldn't have liked the ending It was just rushed It was only six episodes And it was just not
Starting point is 00:23:11 Nothing really worked out how it should have done But I watched Top Boy Made myself a really nice salmon Air Fried Salmon and Potato Salad And a Corona That was it I wish I was that person Who brought a drink out in the house
Starting point is 00:23:29 That was quite unlike me to be fair But I just thought I fancy it, fuck it I did I would just love to be that wee glass of wine with dinner but it's just pointless if you're the only one doing it no true
Starting point is 00:23:42 it's not worth opening a bottle is it well I don't know unless you want to sink the whole lot but I mean we have we have done that quite a number of times when we're together now I'm a wine expert I think we should
Starting point is 00:23:56 you're not going to get pushed back from me Jessica anyway I'm going hot potty tonight, do you want to come? I've seen that in your emails. There's no hiding. I can't do anything.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Do you want to come? No. See, what's your problem? Two last minute. What? It's literally half five. Also, hot pod always gives me spots. Oh yeah, you did say that, to be fair.
Starting point is 00:24:19 It's too sweaty. Although I do like it, don't get me wrong. I will 100% be there. It's again at some point in my life, but it does make me break out. But I was going straight from work, only really wiping my makeup off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:32 There was a lot of factors going on. I also take my own yoga mat as well so I don't like putting my face on a yoga mat that other people have sweated on but you put that that towel down yeah but that's someone else's towel wait you need to pay for it every time you go yeah but if you buy a yoga
Starting point is 00:24:47 it needs to be a yoga towel that you buy which needs to be really long it's quite expensive yeah anyway next week I'll see again next week don't like get disheartened with the nose like keep trying I'm not disheartening it's when you sit in there sagging me off saying that you're not invited to places but you don't come anyway
Starting point is 00:25:05 so I'm not bothered now that's just me Jess I'm only joking I needed it I wanted a week of nothingness and you know what it's really done wonders for my life good I'm like really on top of everything I need to talk of well that's good to know
Starting point is 00:25:22 anyway what we were actually going to talk about was just a few questions people asked us oh yeah catch up about us forgot about that we can keep it brief because a lot of them are similar Right. And this is actually a good one to start with because you've got a bit of
Starting point is 00:25:38 information to share about this, I feel. Oh God, what? People love her eyebrows, right? Oh. But you're actually making changes to your eyebrows. Yeah, I hate them. So explain that. Oh.
Starting point is 00:25:53 So I had microblading once, liked it, but I needed them bigger. so I went to Dundee had them done at a place called Brow Jam she was amazing can I just say and her work is unbelievable a lot of people travel to go at her do you yeah she's a critical
Starting point is 00:26:13 by the way this is by no means me slagging her work because I have loved my brows for two years however things change and now I'm just looking at them like they're too big and what it is and people do agree when I say at the top in the corner
Starting point is 00:26:29 she's microbladed them above my brow so it sort of makes me look slightly um concerning and evil in certain things i think anyway so i've started to conceit like put concealerer at the top of it to try and hide just the top bit so i'm getting them lasered off but only the top bit it's like it's giving you too much of a point that's the one a point okay an upside down like the point situation so i'm having that bit lasered off at a tattoo place called God, what's it called again? Ink. Ink something.
Starting point is 00:27:05 It is a really amazing tattoo removal place actually in Glasgow and it's the only tattoo specific machine that they have in the whole of Scotland. There's one in Aberdeen I think, so there's two in Scotland and he's got one in Glasgow and he's just on West Regent Street. I will share his page actually because he was amazing if you want to get a tattoo removed, he was brilliant and very informative. It's not a gifted thing or anything.
Starting point is 00:27:29 This is, uh... Gee has just sent us a message when I was recording this. Fuck you! I don't know how we explain that to the listeners. So, G, would you like to explain? That's what I think of when somebody gets an eyebrow... Seen I see something with fresh eyebrows,
Starting point is 00:27:53 whether they're just... That's what I see. Any female... What is it? Who is it? again. It's the evil baby for the Simpsons
Starting point is 00:28:00 with a one eyebrow. That's how I feel I look. Honestly. It's like people get them dyed and they're like so dark.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Yeah. I mean... Yeah, but you know I get a lot of people message me about my eyebrows so... I think it's the hairstrokes people like.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Yeah. I think people who maybe don't have a lot of eyebrows struggle to get like the kind of actual hair look about it.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Whereas I just still use the Rimmel brow gel I can't tell you any more than that It's wonderful I'll tell you who we should shout out actually Whose work we both love at the moment We've not been to her I have my makeup done by her once Emily
Starting point is 00:28:41 Marietta But what's her business called It's Marietta backwards I have no idea how to pronounce it Sorry Emily Atrium I have no idea Anyway
Starting point is 00:28:54 We can share it But her work She's just lip blush as well which I've had a lip brush and it's probably one of the best things that I've ever had done had it done down in Manchester at a place called Arch and Co
Starting point is 00:29:04 but Emily's work at the time when I had it done I didn't like anybody's work in Scotland to be honest that I thought was natural enough but Emily's work is amazing but she does microblading as well really nice fine hairstrokes
Starting point is 00:29:16 so I think you should have a look at her page if that's what you want or brow jam because she was amazing what's the best purchase you've ever made. My flat, probably. I forget that as a purchase, do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:29:36 Yeah. Mine is quite... It's taking a lot for me to admit this. The air fryer's up there. Love it. It is up there. It is just so easy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:54 I can't believe I'm that person now after all the time it took me to one but it just is even like last night I made your salmon, avocado did you? Sticky rice bowl thing. Why didn't you tag me then? I didn't post, I didn't take any pictures of it, sorry, for me
Starting point is 00:30:11 and my friend and my other friend and Jason had picked me up the salmon but you got the one that's already cooked, do you know what I mean? Oh yeah which I never get because I'm all just a bit like, is that weird but put it in there fry it on the wee heat
Starting point is 00:30:26 Oh, nice. Perfect. If we think about that, that's cool. And I was actually him that said that and I thought, you do have brains. Quite annoys, isn't it? So it crisped up a little bit. Crissed up, like, almost like the top layer.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Nice. Like, just what you want. Yeah. And it was perfect. So I do think the air fryer's up there. I forget about purchases, though, as well, do you what I mean? Honestly, I can't really think. I like G's answer in last week's bonus episode,
Starting point is 00:30:52 but I think for me it would be, if you were thinking of something like that I would say Spotify definitely because if you think about it how much I use it also my Alexa I love her as well you're good with you're Alexa I'm funny because we were talking about this
Starting point is 00:31:09 the other night me and Jason were eating dinner and halfway through I was like why are we always in silence eating dinner obviously we speak to each other but I mean there's no the TV is not just left on or whatever and the music's never on either and I'm a big music lover
Starting point is 00:31:25 lover like I would just have it on but see because he works in that wee room that's kind of off the back of the kitchen I think that stops us from ever having just like background noise on because he can't really have it and then you just forget that it's leaving an option do you sit at the table for dinner?
Starting point is 00:31:40 Yeah. You're not sitting on the couch, watch the tell you know? No. Do you not? No. We sit in that wee table on our kitchen every single night. That's adorable. Even if we've breakfast or lunch together like during the week or at weekend we've sat that table. That's so cute. And we always have the candle on.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Stop! So we should have music on. Yeah, like a little day night. Oh, that's so that's real cute, Zoe. We always do that. And we're actually getting the kitchen done so that we're getting a wee, like, window seat. Nice.
Starting point is 00:32:08 What should be cute? Yeah. I don't have a dining table. I sit on my lap. If I'm having dinner, like, last night when me and Abbey dinner, we just had it on the couch whilst watching, like, a film. Like, there's occasional time maybe if we have, like,
Starting point is 00:32:21 you know, when we do, like, a child dinners with, like, smiley faces and pizza. chicken nuggets and that we'll maybe do the couch because it's a bit more what a treater sitting the couch yeah
Starting point is 00:32:30 we did we did we did we're checking nuggets twice this week for dinner did you we like smiley faces and that
Starting point is 00:32:37 you too are such children I love it I just I love the ease you know me I'm not cook although when I made your thing last night
Starting point is 00:32:44 that's what I was saying at Abby I was like I feel like I've made a meal and I've literally heated up salmon yeah and cut a radish
Starting point is 00:32:50 I actually put the radishes in it did you? I'm so proud That is a really nice one by the way That is such a good dish Sorry we got No but I think that's probably
Starting point is 00:33:02 Yeah I say my flat only because It's my home Do you know what I mean Like everything All my memories My cat's house Maybe your cats is an answer
Starting point is 00:33:11 Shit I birthed them though I didn't buy them They're my kids Bagina Yeah definitely But I only bought one rich bought the other
Starting point is 00:33:26 so I can't really say that then you would have like a favourite but then again I suppose being rich but half the house is his and half his mind so yeah cats then true if money wasn't a factor what would your dream job be
Starting point is 00:33:41 actress 100% yeah you've said that before actually I mean like a big time Hollywood actress I'm not saying that I could do it but I would like if I had the talent then that wouldn't be in my job. I honestly, I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:34:00 I've said this before, right? That's so ridiculous. But I honestly would be a great cleaner. I'm not, like, I know that. I know you're laughing. Zoe! But I would thrive in that job. Like, somebody that organises stuff.
Starting point is 00:34:17 And cleans. Like, see just that person you're like... I can make your dreams come true, Zoe. Do you want a job? you know what it is I like I would like to do it for like say like rich people yeah and like you were like
Starting point is 00:34:33 you almost only had to have maybe like two people that you did it for and you like just proper did their like big like fancy homes or like do you know what I mean whereas I just think clean and therapeutically I think and what stress are you getting with that yeah I suppose if you had like a idiot boss that was like that wasn't clean enough last week
Starting point is 00:34:53 I know but I'm I'm so good at cleaning that that wouldn't happen. Yeah. I thought you would say something like a West End musical director or something where you managed or wrote film, musicals or stuff. No, I think if we were then talking about more like things that like really would never have happened, I would probably say like a, what would you say, the actress and singer, like someone who, but in musicals. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:19 Not films at musicals. Okay. But only if I'm the lead person. Yeah. I'm not being a backup singing or backup dancing. I want to be that main part. Yeah. And I think, honestly, I would have went into, like,
Starting point is 00:35:31 a wee bit of amateur theatre the way, like, my mum does. Yeah. Because I do enjoy, like, singing in that. You know what I'm like in the car. I put the ballads and stuff on. But I can't handle it because I couldn't be the main part. You won't want to be. And it's not that I'm like, oh, everyone, look at me.
Starting point is 00:35:47 I enjoy. The bits that I enjoy are, like, the singing and all that of, like, being the singer. But I'm not good enough singer. I actually can't sing at all so I couldn't It's not possible Gee what would you do Oh I think we heard enough out of me last week
Starting point is 00:36:01 No, tell us What would be your main If money wasn't an option What would you do? Money or talent Would be an NFL head coach Cool Yeah that is cool
Starting point is 00:36:14 That is really cool isn't it I also think I would love to be a surgeon I think I've said that before Really? I kind of think all that body stuff I'm not that squeamish so I could probably handle it
Starting point is 00:36:30 but I would quite like to or like a detective like I quite like see when you see like something's going on I want to know everything about it yeah like crime detective or working for like the MI5 or what's that place called
Starting point is 00:36:44 G in Vegas the space place the alien place or Area 51 yes I want to work there Like I would like to do something like either like surgeons so that you see like what's wrong with the body and all that or like a detective where like you're seeing the crime and like working it all out or something like with space or something like. I want to know how do you get into something like that?
Starting point is 00:37:08 If you worked for the MI5 and you were top and you knew so many secrets about the government and what's going on in the world, how do you get to that point in life where you're so trusted and you can work up the ranks to be so in the no? I'm assuming you come from police detective and then you must be really high up on that to then go into like that's kind of like being in a police or detective's kind of like school and then being
Starting point is 00:37:33 and that's like university I and it's definitely like there's depending what the skill is but it also very much depends on your family history you find a lot of those guys are like children or grandparents or whatever I've been in the same business so they're well vetted the government knows that the family been involved for so long
Starting point is 00:37:50 that they're in because I've read you know who Edward Snowden is? No the big whistleblower for America Of course we don't too
Starting point is 00:37:57 He was like the CIA and he was the one that told the world that the CIA was listening to everybody I read his book and that was similar because his parents were in the military
Starting point is 00:38:06 he then got a job and then worked his way up but it became but then he ended up coming out and telling everybody all the secrets whoa there's a good movie
Starting point is 00:38:13 it's called Snowden should watch it okay I'm quite in my movies just now like not my typical either musical or like chick flick I'm quite into my I'm not sure I'd say action
Starting point is 00:38:25 You watched a good film last night Amazing Prisoners Seen it? Jake Gellenhall No I'm a fan of him It was so good What was it on Netflix? It's on Netflix
Starting point is 00:38:36 It was so good so everyone should watch that if you've not And it's quite an old film So I'm surprised I'm not really heard about it No I've not seen it But yeah I'm quite into that so maybe I will watch that actually I've been watching The Bear on Amazon. I've seen that.
Starting point is 00:38:51 It's good. So I'm enjoying it. It's also on Disney Plus if people don't have Amazon. Sorry, it is Disney Plus. Sorry, it is Disney, yeah. Yeah, it is good. Another good question
Starting point is 00:39:02 that I'm quite intrigued for your answer is if you were to enter one reality TV competition, what one would it be and why? Do not see Love Island? No, no. Lovina would be in the pits for me. I would never, ever, ever do that.
Starting point is 00:39:19 I can't explain what I would look like on that. No. There's no way that I could be on that TV show. Never ever. Never want to go on that program. But I enjoy watching it. It's a toss-up, really, because I think Big Brother, I know it's coming back, old-school Big Brother, if I was in a house with someone like Nikki Graham or Tiffany or even Gemma Collins,
Starting point is 00:39:38 that would have made my life. I know that was probably the celebrity ones. Nikki Graham wasn't Celebrity One, no, was it? But being in a Big Brother house with so many different cats. would have been a complete life-changing experience. Yeah. The jungle, no, because I can't deal with heights and I cannot deal with spiders.
Starting point is 00:39:59 So anything creepy quality, that would scar me fly. So I can't really think of many. I think I would like to do the jungle. Would you? I feel like I do have... What about strictly? No, I'm not really... I'm not really a fan of strictly.
Starting point is 00:40:18 No, I'm not. I'm going to watch it this year though, but... Same because I do like Zana McDermott. But maybe dance on ice. Oh, no. Which I do find scary, but I'm more interested in that. What other ones are there? What about traitors?
Starting point is 00:40:37 Traders! Yes! Although I can't... Listen, if somebody gave me the job role of being the traitor, I couldn't do it I can't lie I can't be so dishonest to everyone
Starting point is 00:40:50 I don't I'm not a good liar I do kind of smirk it's a new thing I used to like no bother but it's a new thing which is obviously good
Starting point is 00:40:58 but I could be like I could do it that no bother that is a brilliant programme what's the one that used to be on T4 on the beach
Starting point is 00:41:05 shipwrecked shipwrecked yeah that was good what about Crystal Maze they're not really reality shows or they're game shows I would love to go on a game show
Starting point is 00:41:21 and I would love to go on that mind that total wipeout thing or what's the other one The Cube Gladiators would be the best No what's the one Thought Boyard With Melinda Messenger
Starting point is 00:41:41 Where you get chased by them tigers or something all that would be so fun but again I know what you mean they're not really at reality or um I'd like to go on something like the cube do you know what I'm talking about the one that like you do all the solve all the things in the cube do you remember right
Starting point is 00:41:59 who wants to be a millionaire that used to be so good but no but can I just say I know that a million poundies still a lot of money I understand that but you know to get to 32 grand it was like 10 questions in and that was like oh back then I would have been like take the fucking winning 32 grand that's life-changing but now that's just not surely it needs
Starting point is 00:42:18 to be like is it even still a program i don't know i don't know isn't america i feel like you see bits and bobs of it but i don't know if it's like celebrity ones and that for like charity things now i don't know if they just have it for yeah like famous you your average person but i'd go on that if it was like who wants to be a five millionaire sure what mean i was like that was the biggest disappointment. See if you got on the show but they never made it past the fastest finger. Oh, I know. I know you were so close. You were almost there. And then you found me
Starting point is 00:42:50 family friend and be like, sorry, I don't know. I do think, like they ones, you can get to a decent amount of money like with piss easy questions. Yeah. It was 32, 64. I like it goes up quite. Yeah. And you'd take the money at certain parts, couldn't you? Mind the guy that cheated. Yeah. What were they doing? Cuffin in the audience? That was iconic Whoever that was in the audience
Starting point is 00:43:16 Must have been a brain box Because I don't think they had a phone I was 100% I told someone to do that as well You're not getting on that and then no other than someone helping you Surely somebody next to you You're sitting next to him in the audience
Starting point is 00:43:25 Like this guy is coughing nonstop In the same day Wow I used to love that What next? To God's sake What? No I was going to
Starting point is 00:43:38 I don't think any of us can answer this but it does take me on to something I would like to start doing. Someone's asked, what book are you currently reading? I don't read. I think that's quite apparent. My knowledge and I'm starting to not really be able to speak that well because I don't think like, I think I'm losing like brain cells because I don't really do any sort of, what's the word like?
Starting point is 00:44:05 Vocabulary. Yeah, or like even just your kind of common ways to kind of keep the mind going. I don't really do much of that. but I have been thinking I think I would like a Kindle I think part of me thinks oh the hard book is more like
Starting point is 00:44:21 the feeling of getting into bed and you're getting your book out and all that right but then I'm like see if I had a Kindle would I pick that up instead in my phone perhaps at times the good thing with the Kindle is you know when you turn the lights off at night you can still sit on read your Kindle but if you had a book you'd have to have a big light on
Starting point is 00:44:39 to read it and then that annoys me a bit well when I read a book it might have been last year the year before I can't remember it took me eight months right and that's me saying I loved that book have you not read seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo yet I've read one book in my life Jess
Starting point is 00:44:56 and it was I couldn't even remember Zoe if I could give you any book to get into reading please read that book right well that's fine I will even my mum messaged me about it last week and she was like I didn't want that to end it is such a good book right well I read that then
Starting point is 00:45:09 I've got it in my house I'll give it to you Wow I'm so excited I'm not I've actually bought loads of books recently at the same time when I was buying reading Evelyn Hugo but it's getting into it that's difficult really
Starting point is 00:45:21 and you said I wish I brought a book Was it going to I be Yeah We're going through the airport Goetna and Jess goes I don't bring any books I should get one I was like when
Starting point is 00:45:31 When you know what the noise thing is I had a lot of time to read a book Well that is true Yeah absolutely right And you know what was funny I was in a room with jelly and She has a Kindle
Starting point is 00:45:41 She reads a Kindle But every night That's to get her to sleep Yeah Which I get in Like I would turn around She was sleeping And her kind of
Starting point is 00:45:49 Still lying there But I just left her to it But I would My thought process Would then be gone If I fell asleep Like I feel like I would
Starting point is 00:45:58 How slow You're going to get through a book Yeah I have to be in I don't want to read something To wind down I want to read it I want to read it
Starting point is 00:46:05 I know I think I feel like a way as well Do you know what? A book that did actually change you might like this one gee i'm sure you've heard of it but um is atomic habits james something um who james clear yeah and i read it and listened to it on an audio book because it was actually him reading it and for maybe three weeks of my life i really did feel like it made a difference to my habits and my cleaning habits should i say um it's a long time
Starting point is 00:46:33 for you it was and my house was spotless and everything time i pick something up i'd make sure i put it back the right way if I had my washing basket but like just do it now rather than keeping it don't procrastinate just do it and I think it's one of those books like you think you need to continuously go back to because if you don't keep doing it you're not creating the habit and it becomes like an automatic thing but yeah that is one book I'd recommend if you're going towards the more self-help book that's the first book we if anybody does like nutrition and stuff where us that's the first book we recommend do you yeah definitely and it's one like you just said there's perfect because you can read it again and again
Starting point is 00:47:08 and see if you just need like a refresher you just read it again and it just always kind of kicks you back and it's good that's good because I was reading it as an only book as I was played in the house because I do feel like I'm more productive when I have my air pods in you know we spoke about this but if I have my air pod in my house and my shoes on my feet
Starting point is 00:47:21 I do things apparently that's an ADHD thing you know ought well be I've seen stuff about ADHD on TikTok last night I'm getting there with TikTok and in the nicer way possible but I was like, fucking know what's just.
Starting point is 00:47:38 The honesty, it's actually terrible about the amount of people that message me things about me. I know I have it. I've obviously not been diagnosed with it, so I can't, got to be respectful to the people that do actually have it. But you know what? You just know you just know you have it.
Starting point is 00:47:51 You can just see, like, I can see it in you, like, in certain situations. I know. Like, I can see that you're not here. Yeah. Like, that kind of thing. Or, like, you will actually be mid-sense and you completely forget what you're talking about.
Starting point is 00:48:06 Or like you can't get the word And I know that happens to everyone I'm so often You're like fucking hell What's that word again When it's like not one you use often But you do lose your train of thought I can't and it's terrible
Starting point is 00:48:14 I don't think I ever spoke about this On the podcast but you know But I actually did go through the process Didn't I? It was about 10 months ago I went to the doctor about it And she even said to me She was like oh yeah
Starting point is 00:48:25 Not she didn't say you've got it But she's like yeah I think But basically I was actually The reason I went was because I was going to go private and pay for it Because the wait list was so long Because of this huge TikTok thing everyone's diagnosed with it self-diagnosed with it and I explained everything to her my worries
Starting point is 00:48:41 for certain things that I was not I was procrastinating a lot things were affecting me in my life because of this the way I am and she just said to me like for me to go private I had to be able to go to my doctor get them to sign off signing off the medication if you were to have it and it was called some like duo or dual um prescriptions but my doctor doesn't do it so I said well what's my next steps then she went I don't know so I couldn't go private with it or I'd wait two years and go on the two year waiting list to have
Starting point is 00:49:11 be diagnosed with it so I'll be honest with you as a typical person who procrastinate it does I didn't do anything with it so what there's not actually that much they can do for it anyway is there? You can get medication but if you don't need to go on it you wouldn't want to go on it would you and that's what I kept saying to myself I kept thinking if I was told I had it and I was able to have medication
Starting point is 00:49:32 I don't think I'd want to take that because I've had bad things Yeah And obviously you have like Your moments where it frustrates you and all that But you can get through life Yeah I think some people have it's so bad that like
Starting point is 00:49:45 It's hard to have a job and all that Because they literally can not focus That's one of the big things in adult It's like where it's like I agree with you But one of the big things is Adult ADHD is The inability to maintain friends or relationships You do not have that problem
Starting point is 00:49:59 No I don't have that problem Which is good Yeah I don't think I think what I am bad though is getting back to people I'm like I have a lot of friends but I wish I would I had the brain capacity to be able to actually
Starting point is 00:50:12 reply I replied to you in my head but I don't actually reply and then I feel like a bad friend but I'm not a bad friend but you know what I mean there's loads of different there's so many things I've read about it there's loads of different levels to it I'm sure yeah but um yeah if anyone actually has gone through it message me and let me know because I would love to speak to somebody about it and get better
Starting point is 00:50:33 but I would like to get myself better what's the word without medication yeah I feel like there's things that like you just know that you could I don't mean just you I mean everyone in life like even when I'm moaning about routine
Starting point is 00:50:46 and all that it's my own fault but I think there's loads of things that you almost just choose not to do which you know would help yourself like I think going to the gym in the morning would help me a lot I've tried all the mushroom powders I'll be honest with you that didn't help me
Starting point is 00:51:00 with my focus whatsoever meditation I genuinely cannot switch my brain off to be able to even give my brain a break I can't never can't do it no I couldn't um yeah deep but yeah I can't do it so and I think going self-employed is definitely triggered a lot of it more Richard's like what the fuck you can't do with it the only way I can watch a film is in the cinema the only reason I'm liking the bear as well on a Disney Plus is because it's like 25 minute episodes I'm like this is perfect for me. Yeah, that is good though.
Starting point is 00:51:34 And I watched it on a plane with no distraction. Things are too long. That film I watched last night it was two and a half hours but I like that. I'm so glad there's still a lot of left. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:42 I think a lot of people do just accept that they're not really for films and like all that. A lot of people don't like to just sit and watch things. Like I think there's obviously some things will have a reason behind it and it's what you can't help
Starting point is 00:51:57 it but other things, it's just not for you. Yeah. Right, last one. People want your Dyson, air vap, feedback. Oh, yeah, I really like it. Because quite a lot of people say it doesn't hold. Have you got any tips for that? So I have, I've been done a lot of research on it because I wanted it to hold.
Starting point is 00:52:17 And I do think I've got quite thick hair, so I'm quite lucky in the sense of if I use any sort of curing iron or whatever, it holds quite well. But grow gorgeous thickening spray is really good on the roots. Grogaard just also do a volume shampoo and conditioner range which is meant to be amazing
Starting point is 00:52:36 if you wanted more volume I don't ever want to achieve that I quite like the loose waves I don't want it to be really tight curves yeah you feel like there's too much volume sometimes don't you and I think that's because of my moonhead and my thick hair
Starting point is 00:52:47 so I like it to be kind of flat at the top and then just flicky at the bottom it's the newer air wrap so you can just twist it at the top rather than changing the barrels you know on the original you just actually twist the clip at the top and it changes it from directions
Starting point is 00:53:00 so you don't have to keep changing the barrel from the left side to the right side of the hair. Right, okay. There's also a cold function on it so you know when you have it in the hair and you've got it in the curl, you push a switch up and blast it with a cold
Starting point is 00:53:14 and that keeps it on. And then once you pull it out, don't yank it out, unravel it and then pull it out of the barrel. Yeah, so you don't want it to like almost like brush it out. You want it untangle it so that it stays in the shape.
Starting point is 00:53:28 and then you can put a little clip in it like a little grip or what do you guys call it here? Kirby. Put a little Kirby in it. Leave it in and then brush it out with a wide tooth comb. Not a big bristle brush. Wide tooth comb is good for curls. Fucking hell, she's educated.
Starting point is 00:53:48 Yeah. And on education, someone did write in and I think this is quite important to link to this. I don't know if you've seen it. That for your... air rat, the voltage Oh, I bet this message. It's 220 to 240V
Starting point is 00:54:04 if it was bought in the UK, right? So all UK is that voltage. All you'll need is whatever plug adapter you normally need for appliances that can be used anywhere in any country that has the same voltage, which most of Europe does. However, if the country you're visiting
Starting point is 00:54:21 is 110 to 120, then it won't work, which is usually US, Canada, Mexico, Japan and most of the Caribbean. So if you use your UK airwap in one of those countries, it'll probably break it. And that... Warranty doesn't cover it.
