Starting point is 00:00:45 Your idea of calm confidence happens here. Brought to you by RBC. Lock in, but don't burn out. Progress doesn't happen all at once. And taking the moment to pause is the key. It's not intensity that builds momentum, it's consistency. $5 becomes 50, 50 becomes 500, and suddenly you're further than you thought. Stay steady and no RBC can help make it happen.
Starting point is 00:01:20 We're back. Back in where we belong. Back with Murray. Back in the studio. Back to Home Comforts for Cozy Zoe season. Did you feel at home? And I just want to say, thank fuck for that because that camera added 10 pounds.
Starting point is 00:01:38 That was tragic. Landscape iPhone, not for me. No, and it was low. Never again. At the whole episode, I was thinking about it, I'll be honest. I kept thinking what does that look like? Because we couldn't see it. Yeah, it was not a great episode.
Starting point is 00:01:58 angle, but a great app. Izzy was brilliant. And I hope you all enjoyed that. Brilliant. I really take tips from people like her. What I felt was a great tip was are you nervous about turning 30? And she says, no.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Growing old is a privilege. And I thought, you know what? You're fucking right. You're right, we hen. I've had bone broth every morning since. Enough? Talking of bone broth, you got it from health and you got the... I got chicken and gravy to see what one.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Bare bones. Bare bones. And I then was looking into getting a bone broth from a brand called Holy Cacao. Izzy uses it. It's like a cacao version of bone broth, so it probably tastes quite chocolatey as opposed to beefy. And I ended up following them on Instagram because the ingredients look incredible.
Starting point is 00:02:54 And the girl he followed me back and said that she loves the pod. So I'm going to be buying from you, sis. So they just put water in that one and it's like a hot chocolate or do you add it to things? Yeah, I think so. Well, okay, I might try that too. Anyway, what you've been up to? It was your birthday. Tell us all. Well, I've been doing a lot since we last spoke. So we were in London, which we've vlogged all about guys.
Starting point is 00:03:17 So if you want to see that, it's over on Patreon, side dish. It's on there. We've vlogged a good 45 minute episode. So if that's what you like, check it out. And then I went home for 12 hours and I then flew to Copenhagen on a PR trip to the restaurant Sticks and Sushi, which weirdly, if you've been listening to this episode for a while, I mentioned it a few episodes ago where I said it's coming to Glasgow. It's coming to George Square. And I said I used to go there all the time 10 years ago with Richard in London. I genuinely thought back then it was a London brand, a small chain of restaurants back then because I knew there was like three locations in London at the time. not realizing then that I'm going to get an email a week later to say it's opening in Glasgow.
Starting point is 00:04:01 That was such a coincidence. I know. And then she was like, let's, we want to fly to Copenhagen? I thought, fuck. It's on the same week as London. I wasn't going to go. And I was gutty because I thought, I just can't do it. I had not been away from him from that long.
Starting point is 00:04:15 And Rich was like, just do it. You know, his mom was coming up to help him for the week as well so he could work. And she's brilliant with Jensen. He's obsessed with her. So I did it. And I'm so glad I did because I had. the best time. It was a great bunch of girls and yeah, I really enjoyed myself. It looks like a good time.
Starting point is 00:04:33 So it is a Danish restaurant or Danish brand, shall we say. The guy is half Danish, half Japanese and he bought sticks and sushi to Copenhagen initially. And it's now expanded. I think it's in Sweden. I'm sure it's in Berlin as well. And then there's about 13 now in London. The original one was in Wimbledon, which is random. but they're nowhere else in the UK and they're coming to Glasgow and I think that is simply iconic. No, I think that as well.
Starting point is 00:05:02 They've not even bothered going to Edinburgh. They've not bothered going to Manchester, Birmingham. They're coming straight to Glasgow and I said there, sat there around the table on the first night because I had dinner with him and the CEO. I was like, I'm really intrigued why Glasgow. And they just were like, it's the people, it's the place, I think it's the right fit,
Starting point is 00:05:18 and they love Glasgow. So yeah, I just think they were really excited and it's in a really prime location. It's massive. And it's a nice vibe. It's really great sushi. But it's called sticks and sushi because they have the amazing platters of sushi. That's what they're known for.
Starting point is 00:05:32 But they also do sticks of all sorts of things with really nice, like Japanese sauces and things on top. It's incredible. I will share it all of my story. I've got an amazing post going live tonight about it and Copenhagen in general. So you can get my tips. But I was only there for 24 hours. And because it was a PR trip,
Starting point is 00:05:47 I was like subjected as to where I could go where I wanted to go. Yeah. So we did go to where they wanted. us to go to, but I managed to get to a couple of places in time, squeeze a few things in, but I didn't go to Copenhagen with Rich the week before, I'm sure you've all figured that out now, because I was meant to go. Yeah. As well, which is another coincidence. I know. Just because there was too much going on, there's lots of things happening in my life, some very exciting things, which I can't wait to update you all on, but it's all go, go, go,
Starting point is 00:06:13 and I've been trying to squeeze everything in, as well as being a mother to a feral child. Yeah, as feral. But I quite like that. He's feral in a sense that he just wants to be on the move 24-7. And I'm pleased to announce that I'm finally getting some sleep. I'm pleased to announce. I'm pleased to announce to the whole wide world that my child is sleeping. And can I just say, I feel like I'm experiencing a whole different kind of parenthood. This isn't a doddle.
Starting point is 00:06:49 I'm not saying it's a dodle, but oh my God, when your child's sleep, Much easier. In comparison, yes. I can't explain it. Like, I can't believe that. I cannot believe people have babies that sleep through because I feel brand new. I think that's because I've experienced not sleeping, though.
Starting point is 00:07:05 I saw someone say that a day their baby sleeps from like 7 to 7 and I thought, sorry? I could never. But don't get me wrong. I didn't want to scream from the rooftops because, as we all know, it's unpredictable, things happen, teething happens. It was great for two weeks when Rich's mum came up on my mum. I think when your parent, show their ways of getting them to sleep.
Starting point is 00:07:24 It really helps the disassociation of Jensen with me and comfort. So that's really helped. And we're putting them straight on his front because I know people are going to message me and ask me how I've done it. And I don't have the answer for you. I think when we've hit the seven-month mark, which a lot of people have said, it has just got easier.
Starting point is 00:07:41 He's eating a lot of food. He's crawling so freaking much. He'll be knackered. He's knackard. So I just think everything is contributing to him actually just having longer bursts of sleep. Anyway, birthday. Birthday, birthday, birthday. The brain is not braining.
Starting point is 00:08:00 Did you not rate it down? I did, I did. But it feels like a lifetime ago, but it was literally at the weekend. Yeah, it was four days ago. I'm 30 fucking five. I'm now in my mid-30s. Sleigh. So my dad came up and my stepmom, it was her birthday as well.
Starting point is 00:08:19 So my dad took me out to Maloko, the new restaurant. restaurant in Glasgow. I really recommend, guys. It was a fantastic lunch service. That looks good. That was actually with my friends that you saw that picture. But anyway,
Starting point is 00:08:31 went out with my dad to Maloko. It's the opposite end. That's sort of like, Mercer City, Ingram Street, yeah. I had the vodka pasta. I had this camembert peat set with hot honey. Outrageously good.
Starting point is 00:08:46 I had, I think, a Hugo Spritz. And I had the Tiramisu that comes in the silver tray. They're lying to you, if they say to you, you can eat that yourself, which you absolutely can because I did. But I felt positively sick, okay? So you could share that between three people. The vodka pasta was excellent. It's probably one of the best sauciest vodka passes I've had. Nothing beats my own. There I said it. But, hell did I taste that vodka. And I've never had a vodka pasta where I've tasted the vodka.
Starting point is 00:09:12 No, me neither. I don't think. I felt pissed. There was a lot of vodka in that. And that was, I'm not sure after a few spoonfuls that I liked it. I was like, this. This is I can really taste it and I'm unsure. So bear that in mind. The ragu my sister had didn't love. It's not a tomato-be-sauceauy ragu, so just expect that when it comes. But the pass is cooked perfectly.
Starting point is 00:09:37 It's hot. The service is quick. It's an open kitchen. Then I went again on Saturday for my birthday. I went to Bongo's Bingo with some friends. Liked it, but we sat at the back so it was a bit out of the vibes. I did enjoy it, but sometimes I was ready to play Bingo. I wanted to win that grand.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Fair. And it goes on for four hours. Yeah. I'm like, come on, mate. Like, not every single number needs to be a song. But I know that's the point. No, I know. But you just need to go to make a bangle, whatever it's called.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I've just been the fun sponge. Like, can we just play bingo? Shut up. Anyway, it was good. No one else there wants to play bingo. No, but I did. I had my dab already the lot. So really enjoyed that.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Then we went over to Maloko again because I'd already booked this prior. And what I will say is it doesn't see any more than eight people. So if you're thinking of having a big Christmas party there. Yeah, they don't do that. It's not their thing. So that was the max when we had. Food was still great service. The vibes, the lights were down, the music was up, good vibes.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Food was great, but the pasture on the vodka sauce was nowhere near a saucy. So how to talk about consistency, he just can't, you can't get it. I'll be good. A few different chefs, so you just can't rely on it. I really recommend it, guys, though. I think it's a great addition to the city center for that sort of food. And then on Sunday I went to Monty's Farm Park, up near, oh, bloody hell, where's that then? It was about 45 minutes drive away.
Starting point is 00:11:02 They had a pumpkin patch, took Jensen, we had a lovely day. We had the tractor, saw the farm animals, there's highland cows, pigs, goats. I think I should go there. You would like it, actually. Can you go without a cad though? Yeah, absolutely. There was a nice shop. There was a nice cafe.
Starting point is 00:11:20 You can go and pick a pumpkin. We carved the pumpkin in like an indoor tent. There was stencils. It was really good fun. And then I went to my favourite big counter for my birthday dinner. That looked unbelievable. I forget about there. What?
Starting point is 00:11:33 How could you? I don't know. It's just one of those edgy places I forget about. They didn't have the Café de Parry butter muscles there, which I was gutted about. Because they changed the menu almost daily. That's the thing. With these places that I need to know what I mean.
Starting point is 00:11:48 But they have the signatures like the steak with the peppercorn sauce. Fear. and the chips. They don't always have chips on the menu though but their green salad it's a thing of dreams Zoe I know you're not keen
Starting point is 00:11:57 on like a pile of leaves but it's outstanding Did we have that when you went? Yeah No I think it was good It's got deal in it It's got parmesan It's got vinaigrette
Starting point is 00:12:09 lambs lettuce It's just so good No I don't mind a leaf I just when it's to like see a Caesar shall and see once I'm done with the chicken and that Like there's too many leaves left
Starting point is 00:12:18 Yeah I don't need that many right we've got something funny to tell you though so my dad was in town he's like right we want to get you a present what do you want i was like no honestly like a dinner's fine he's like no i said well there is a perfume that i got a tester of and it was the asop um i think it's called arna it's like a u r N-E-R-N-E-R-A-R-N-A-R-R-A-R-N-A-R-R-N-A-R-R-N-A-R-R-R-N-A-R-R-N-A-R-R-R-N-E-R-R-E-R-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-L-E-E Come on, let's go in, let's go in. We'll go and get you it. So I was like, okay, only if you're sure. Richard had Jensen, and he sat back on the sofa that knocked the whole front display cabinet down. No.
Starting point is 00:13:07 And smashed all of the perfume bottles. No. I kid you not when I say, we all were silent for about five whole minutes. I didn't know what to do it. I wanted the ground to swallow me up. I just looked at the price. Richard did that yet. No, I'm dead.
Starting point is 00:13:22 And I couldn't fucking believe it. So anyone that works at A's up, we are so sorry. Like, I couldn't stop saying sorry. I then picked up the bottle. I was like, I'm going to buy this. I'm so sorry. And they're like, don't worry about it. Don't worry about it.
Starting point is 00:13:33 I think the sofa was, the back of it, was leaning against the cabinet that was in the display. So he leant back and had Jensen, but obviously jolted back a bit too much. It hit the thing. So they're all sitting on the edge. What, in the window? In the window. No. And then, uh, oh, fuck, it was awful.
Starting point is 00:13:48 And then I said to my dad, I'm not, I was going to buy it. this like don't worry about a buy me present i'll just get it and then we looked to me she went you don't need to buy a perfume just because you've done this don't worry i was like no i really want to anyway she ended up convinced as not to so we ended walking we were all walking in silence i was like richard oh my god and he's like i didn't bloody mean to do that oh my god i can't ever be seen there again so anyway we carried on walking around town i do feel a strange place to put a seat though it was it wasn't very thought out to be honest with it and also because they're all sat at the very edge of the brown cabinet not in the middle it was going to
Starting point is 00:14:20 going to happen. Yeah. Um, we were in town for two hours. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was like, Dad, if you want to get me a gift, I'm going to have to go get a perfume. Oh my God, no. So did you get the perfume? I'm the perfume and it's fucking gorge. So, yeah, it was worth it. It was worth it. It was worth it in the end. So I got that for my present and then I woke in the morning on Sunday to a massive box and some flowers. And I said to Rich, what is this? He'd already got me some trainers. So I was like, you didn't need to get me anything. He got me the shark mask. By the way, you posted you had that on last night and I thought, fucking when did you get that?
Starting point is 00:14:53 That's what I got. And did you ask for it? I was in boots with him with my dad the day before or two days before and he was like, I walked by it and I went oh I really want that. That's all I said. Love that.
Starting point is 00:15:05 He went back and got it. Here it is guys. And suddenly he thought I'm getting that. Tell me more. Is it good? It's bloody brilliant, right? And I was watching some TikToks about it just trying to get to grips with it because I do have the current body mask, right?
Starting point is 00:15:18 Is it got the eye coolers in it? Yeah, so it's the eye colours, they're brilliant. It's got like a TV little screen. It's got really good, like how many sessions you've done, all instructions of how long to do it. So every night for the first eight weeks, I have to do one of the settings. It's either the blemish or the anti-aging.
Starting point is 00:15:32 For me, I kind of wanted both. So they suggested if you want both, do the blemish setting. And eight minutes every night for eight weeks. After the eight weeks, you then continue the skin recovery one for four minutes every night. And that is it. And then the depoofing eye thing here Inside it
Starting point is 00:15:52 You can just put on at any point of the day To just depuff your eyes If you wait for the morning to feel a bit Yeah so there's a lot of pros and cons online But some people are saying it fits really weird And it's really heavy I had no issue to that People are saying that the eye callers doesn't reach their eyes
Starting point is 00:16:06 It does for me There's also attachments to make it go even closer to your eye If you need to So bloody bougie I can't believe you spend that on me What the hell So Janel what I can it get?
Starting point is 00:16:17 Oh, no? That's giving Christmas gift, no? I was thinking about this other day, though. Do you think, like, you give more at Christmas or birthdays? Birthdays? Oh, I don't know, actually. I think on a birthday I'd give, like, a significant gift, and at Christmas I get itty-bitty bits, thoughtful gifts, you know? Yeah. So that is all I've got for you.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Oh, and my mum got me, tell me I'm 35 about telling me. Addison Ross, salt and pepper mill. If you don't know what they are, give them to Google, they're so flipping gorgeous. And she treated herself to two little ones as well, because she was like, wow, you've got great taste. I want these. She's got herself a pink and navy blue one.
Starting point is 00:16:56 I've got like a berry and a, like, rusty orange. They're going to look so gorgeous. Anyway, I think that's it. Will, I've got a gift for you. What? So I'll give you it now. What? Murray, where's my gift?
Starting point is 00:17:12 What the fuck? What the hell? Don't get too excited. What the hell is. there you go Happy birthday What the fuck is this Oh my God I'm so excited
Starting point is 00:17:22 Oh no other things first Okay fine Which one Any I know exactly what this is This will lead on perfectly To where you've been up to do It's got my birthday on
Starting point is 00:17:38 Yeah I know Wow I said to Zoe Don't you dare go to Lisbon Without getting me a bit of tin fish And she's got me some port Portuguese sardines and it says my birthday, 1990. That's quite cool, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:17:49 That's well cool. Ooh. Well, you actually eat them. I flippin love sardines. I love tin fish. Do you know where it does amazing tin fish? Great Western Road. They sell the Pashtal dinata.
Starting point is 00:18:05 You know what I mean? Lisboa. Yeah, unsure, but I don't know if I've ever had them. What? Sardines are great. They're really, really. good for you. Especially if you eat the bones, they're full of calcium.
Starting point is 00:18:19 I give them to Jensen. What the frickin' hellie is that? It's just a wee dish. Is that like I could put my salt in it? That is so cute, or even on a shelf. Oh my God. I just thought it was like, I need to get that because it's got sardines in it. That's just the bar you like.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Classic. Salted blonde chocolate, pistachio, shortbread and corn flakes. Card. Card. Oh, fuck, sorry. I broke it already. there's nothing in that I don't think what is this
Starting point is 00:18:51 it's not what you wanted Sissy Happy birthday you legend wouldn't want to do life without you Lots and lots and lots of love Bloody Nora Yours is You're getting sopped at your old age gilp
Starting point is 00:19:05 Fucking out It's just a wee spa day Just a wee spa day But I'll go with you if you want No, that's just a voucher for one Oh, like for you Oh, bloody hell you need to go with that and going on my own Well, that is what I was planning on doing
Starting point is 00:19:22 But they didn't do packages for like two people By the way, I've never been here before for a spa day Cameron House guys if you don't know I've not You booby-y bitch But I just thought you could get away from the feral child And have a wee nice day, do you know what I mean? I'd love that
Starting point is 00:19:36 I didn't know what else today Should we go soon? Yeah Oh, guys we've got a spa day for Cameron House includes a two-hour thermal and hydro experience with full access to the main Ceroom, saunas, hydrotherapy, pool and includes a 60-minute treatment
Starting point is 00:19:51 combining you're like, bloody hell. Thanks, Zoe, love you. That'll be nice, eh? Will you come with me then? Well, it was for, like, us to go, but the, you don't, like, you just buy it as, like, a per person. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:04 So there was no point me giving you two vouchers, like. Oh, I'm so excited. She was trying on a Sunday, so we can get a Sunday roast there. Is it meant to be good? Don't know. Well, we'll have a look at options, but we'll go. Absolutely, why not? We know you love the thought of a vacation to Europe.
Starting point is 00:20:24 But this time, why not look a little further? To Dubai. A city that everyone talks about and has absolutely everything you could want from a vacation destination. Starting point is 00:21:24 Yeah? You've not been before. Not being loved it. We stayed in an amazing area. We stayed in Santos. Gorgeous, I think. Which I feel like was the area that all the really cool, edgy restaurants and bars is in. Like, where you could just walk and go into any.
Starting point is 00:21:42 it doesn't matter every single one was given like concept store oh cool like like all silver tables you know you know that way yep you know what i mean all that edgy way all that edgy way loads of concept stores loved it so we stayed near there which was good hilly's place i've ever been in my life told you we didn't take heels thank fuck you told us that told you because it's well one it's casual we weren't going to be in stilettles or anything but like you know a wee kitten heel so casual but also cobbles yeah everything's cobbles
Starting point is 00:22:15 so we just went with the trainers and the sandals and the loafers and that you know but I absolutely loved it it was amazing I feel like my favourite thing
Starting point is 00:22:29 was just wandering about we went to LX factory cool but not much there I don't think yeah I thought it said they'd say it's good it's cool but I feel it quite cool to see and I think if you went
Starting point is 00:22:40 at a time that you were having like a big lunch maybe a good few drinks there's quite a good option because it's a nice bar as out at the bottom bit isn't there yeah
Starting point is 00:22:46 but we went up to the rooftop we had a wander around the shops we went and had kind of like brunch there because it was quite early and then went up to the rooftop
Starting point is 00:22:55 so that was nice and then we also went into timeout market yeah we went to time at market on the last day but again
Starting point is 00:23:05 I'm just not that bored by that are you not no see when I went the World Cup was on right So it was really buzzy in there and there's big screens
Starting point is 00:23:14 and I'm pretty certain Portugal was in the final. Yeah, maybe. I think they were. I do like it. Like, I would always go if there was one way that I was. But again, we went before we were going for lunch somewhere. It was just how we had to fit it in. So we just got an apparel there.
Starting point is 00:23:32 I think it's a good atmosphere. Yeah. But I think unless you are wanting to go and try loads of different things, that's really all it's there for, do you know what I mean? I still enjoyed it. Java rooftop was good liked it there we went for lunch on the last day
Starting point is 00:23:47 because we didn't eat there the first time but the lunch menu is different from the dinner menu Oh was it not it's nice It was good but it wasn't Mexican right? What everyone was I didn't eat there and he had drinks No I don't know actually if it is Mexican Maybe it's Portuguese
Starting point is 00:24:02 I mean it is maybe it is Mexican but it's not tacos around It's like corn ribs weed corn ribs um like a big bit of celery
Starting point is 00:24:19 with like sauce and that on it right you said he went away with a vegan that wasn't even vegan so nice it's fit on top was it celery or a leak fuck no it's maybe a leak
Starting point is 00:24:34 big big long green thing fuck no's right I think it was a leak um But food and everything was great. The place we went that was my favourite was a tackle place. Kind of like tiny wee. It's not a hole in the wall because you could sit in
Starting point is 00:24:48 but not like a big restaurant. Yeah. Like quite rough and ready. But like not, like, did not look good in a picture but tacos were. Really good. They did look nice. The beef ones, unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:25:00 That was my favourite me loved to. You have berry tacos. Yeah, sauce. Oh my God. We also went to the flea market, which was quite fun. Nice. Yeah. Did you go around to the very, um, the very nice?
Starting point is 00:25:10 front, there's loads of bars. It's probably where all the stagdos goes. And it's just Benchies and there's some and play music. No, it's like right on the river. There's those of like archway bars. Richard He went on a stagdo there and that's where they hung about. No, I don't think so. We went down to the water quite a few times. You could see the bridge that looks like San Francisco. Yes. And the big statue was like, oh. And they had like a almost like food trucks but there was like cocktail ones, loaded fries, things like that.
Starting point is 00:25:38 and it was just Benj's very like flung together and then there's a guy with just a massive speaker but the tunes were unbelievable it was like Abba and Motown and all that so we went down there on the first day had a few drinks and then we went in the afternoon another day as well Was the weather good?
Starting point is 00:25:52 Roasting. Was it? Yeah but quite a nice weather the last day was quite cloudy and like you know that way when like the air's wet but it's no really raining but you're like air raining or you know yeah kind of like that in the last day
Starting point is 00:26:03 but probably quite a good time to go because it was still hot yeah like I'd like a vest on Mm hmm Weird Anyway loved it I also went and got my Botox done again Did you?
Starting point is 00:26:15 At head aesthetics Needed it I'm so jealous Needed Show is right now No I can't read My eyebrows jerks are not ready Oh
Starting point is 00:26:24 Alright okay then What do you mean they're not ready It's not baked It looks more than ready sis Okay You're frozen I needed it had like a line Down one side of my face
Starting point is 00:26:36 I showed you that It did, yeah. And when I raised my eyebrows, it would stay for a bit. Yeah, it did, to be fair. So I did need it, so I went to head aesthetics again. And is it gone? I think so. Yeah, that's brilliant, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:26:47 I'm not a good look since, to be fair. But I just can't recommend enough. It lasted about three and a half months for me. That's the longest it's lasted for me ever. Really? Yeah. Because then I wasn't last too long, does it? No.
Starting point is 00:27:00 It's happened once a year. Sorry? Yeah? No, every three months. I would need it every three months. I must have thin skin. Yeah, I've got tough skin. I bathe that stuff in acid.
Starting point is 00:27:16 So I did that and then... Did you just... Only thin thing about me, correct? I did say that. That in my hair. Sometimes I listen back to the pod right and there's things that you say under your breath and I don't hear it at the time.
Starting point is 00:27:37 You're a twat. It just comes in actual. The only thing about me right now is my skin, clearly, in my hair. Something else that I have to tell you is that I baked a cake. Wow. I baked an old school sponge cake for Jason's birthday. And everyone liked it. Is that the one with the white icing and the colourful sprinkles?
Starting point is 00:27:56 Yeah. Custard? No. Just a wee bit of that. They really love it? Loved it. You're quite the baker? No, I'm not, though.
Starting point is 00:28:05 So I was quite proud of it. I was doing it until midnight That's the thing with baking And then you've got all the mess Do you know what it is? It's waiting for it to cool To put the icing on top That took a long
Starting point is 00:28:15 Why you're not cooling down You're in a cold room Like why you're not cooling down Did you get it on a rack? Yeah I know I hate that I'm too impatient But I like that with cookies as well
Starting point is 00:28:25 You have to bash it down and wait I'm like I just want to eat you now Yeah I know So that's I was quite proud of that I didn't take one picture of the cake Which is annoying Can't even show anyone that did it So I could be lying right now
Starting point is 00:28:37 Right on the pod You can decide if I'm lying or not We have an exciting announcement A very exciting announcement Which I'm sure half of you are expecting To come especially if you're on Patreon Our Christmas markets are back They're coming back
Starting point is 00:28:57 Round two Merry Christmas Merry frickin Christmas It's going to be bigger and better and less busy. So bigger and better in the sense that better... There's learnings.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Organised. For sure. So we're not having our big Christmas night out this year. We did say that to you before that our final big boozy one was the brunch. So if you missed out, I'm very sorry.
Starting point is 00:29:23 But we've both got a lot of things going on in the next few months. So we are putting two days of the market on this time. 26th and 27th of November. Wednesday, Thursday night. So get that in your diaries now. The new. The new.
Starting point is 00:29:38 We already have 30 unbelievable vendors confirmed. In fact, they confirmed in seconds when we sent the message. They were like, yes, counters in again. It was so good. So good for them as well. We've got a good mix of people who were there last time that you guys all loved and some newbies as well. We'll also have entertainment. Just like we did last year, just to keep.
Starting point is 00:30:03 the Christmas vibes going, you know. Yep. Some prizes to be won. And cash for kids will be there again. So you can bring your donations. Yep. And gifts. Gifts that you can donate.
Starting point is 00:30:14 We'll put all the details on our Instagram again because there's some like age ranges that they want more for and things like that if you're able to obviously. But they got so much last year and they were really appreciative. They were. And they also gave away Charlotte Tilbury Advent calendar as well
Starting point is 00:30:28 if you span the way, wasn't it or something? I know. That was so good. So if you follow us on Instagram At A Lot on Your Plate Pod We will be announcing over the next two days Our vendors So keep an eye out on our grid for that
Starting point is 00:30:40 Pretty please And then our tickets will go live on Friday So Friday the 24th As always Patreon will get them an hour before Yep General sale So you've got an hour if you're on Patreon
Starting point is 00:30:52 To get your tickets And then they'll go out on our Instagram story So we'll put the link and everything on there too And that'll be across two days And we'll also have staggered entry times as well to try and stop the herd of everybody turning up at the one time and give you all a great opportunity to see every single business. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:31:08 And just have a good time and a good giga will be there. We'll be there, we'll be there, we'll be on, there'll be a singer. There's all sorts. We've got lots of planning to get up to. But talking of planning, you may have seen over on our Instagram that we have been squirreling away in secret for another little secret events. God, we never stop in, are we? No, I'm exhausted.
Starting point is 00:31:28 But last week, you may have seen on Thursday, that we put up a surprise event for our day one, Petrioni, Piggies. It's been a secret. And they all kept it, a secret supper club. It was a secret supper club. It was at the Delphine in Princess Square. And it was amazing. So what we wanted to do was we wanted to give back. It was something to say thank you.
Starting point is 00:31:51 And we reached out to 40 of our very first people that signed up to Patreon. We went right back to the last week. we can see from who you all are. And they were all invited. Anyone who joined us on the first day and is still with us. Yeah. We invited you. And obviously we couldn't invite everybody.
Starting point is 00:32:11 We would absolutely love to do that. And listen, this is the first of many things that we want to do to say thank you to people that have been with us and supporting us along the way. But it was an amazing night and we had. We had Sophie Gravia with us, did a little Q&A. People bought books to do a book swap. We had cannabis. We had drinks. We were there doing a bit of a Q&A. It was just really nice vibes. So gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. You might have seen it now on socials because, yeah, we just wanted to
Starting point is 00:32:39 plan something, didn't we? And it was just so, so cute from us. We are cute. We are cute as tits. We are cute as tits. Right. Anyway, you've got one little product that I think you should shout about. Right, if you watched a London vlog, you'll know that I bought this extremely expensive dramatic hairbrush right if you're watching on YouTube here it is I think gorgeous what's the brand again I don't even know what the brand did
Starting point is 00:33:06 that's really hard to read I don't even know but it's a broad bristle brush which is meant to be the best of your hair but what I went for was the one that has what is it again braw bristle and what mixed
Starting point is 00:33:25 God knows But anyway, she influenced me to get it as well Here's mine So it's B, it says B, B on it Anyway, it's stupidly expensive It's like over 100 quid You got a really good price for it
Starting point is 00:33:38 Because I got in Liberty I needed 10% off So that was quite good But I just I feel like I don't know what it is I just feel like my hair's quite
Starting point is 00:33:49 It's going quite thin at the ends And whatever right anyway So I got this But the options were Fully Bob Bristol which is the kind of hard black bits. Then you could get the ones with little plastic bits mixed through
Starting point is 00:34:01 which a lot of brushes are without the little balls on the end so it'd be quite jaggy but we went for the one that was mixed with the wee balls on the end. That was the most popular one. It was number three anyway because it's like different
Starting point is 00:34:11 as one to five I think but I think this is an amazing thing that you guys need to go and get yourself for Black Friday or put this on your Christmas lift because it's a brush that will last you a lifetime. And if you're on a hair journey as well
Starting point is 00:34:21 I honestly don't think you can go wrong with investments and stuff like that? I didn't. Because what I was finding, because if you remember a while back, I asked for brush recommendations. Since then, I genuinely,
Starting point is 00:34:33 every brush I get, the little plastic bits were like snapping or melting with a hairdry or whatever. And I was actually brushing my hair and I could feel it like catching my hair and pulling my hair out. I think I've made my hair thin with using a shite brush.
Starting point is 00:34:47 I agree. Like, I generally do think that. So that's what I got and it's worth every penny in my opinion. I had birthday money. That's what I bought. Yeah. Well, that was my birthday present to myself.
Starting point is 00:34:56 My nana'll ask me what I used when I'll see a hair brush and she'll have a heart attack, that's fine. Listen, back in the old days, that's what they always used to use ball bristle brushes, and that's why they all had silky, gorgeous hair. No heat, nothing. But, yeah, there's some great things that we need to maybe do a roundup of a Black Friday faves list again to the end the season.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Yeah. Because there's so many things, like aura rings, I'm still really loving mine. Lots of things that you can really get good deals on. And I was actually saying to Alan when I came and he uses a sage nespressor machine in here. And it's the one where it's still got the milk frothel, but it's got the pods. I walked by the store in Buchanan Street and it was 700 pounds. And I was like, I'm really sorry.
Starting point is 00:35:35 That's way out my budget. And he says if you buy the coffee pods a subscription every month for 25 pounds, you get the coffee machine for 400 quid. I was like, what the fuck? That's a lot cheaper. And obviously you'd want to buy the pods every month anyway. Yeah. You're going to need to.
Starting point is 00:35:49 It's a coffee pod machine. But then I thought, I'll wait to. Black Friday and Alan said to me that you found it on bloody Facebook marketplace or something, eBay, for like a hundred and something quid. Because it had a little dent in it. So things like appliances, good quality things like that,
Starting point is 00:36:05 I think are well worth investing in Black Friday. Absolutely. I think that's the thing it's best for. Yeah. The savings. Yeah. But like tech bits. Yeah. Gadgets.
Starting point is 00:36:17 Yeah, yeah. That's what Black Friday's good for. And all the clothes, you can get them on sale all year round. Oh, that's a lot of shite now. We know you love the thought of a vacation to Europe, but this time, why not look a little further? Starting point is 00:37:21 Gambling problem call 1866-5-3-1-26. visitconics ontario.se.a.a. Some dilemmas. Let's go for it. We've got some goodies. I've just listened to your recent podcast and was howling at the micro penis chat. I'm a single girl and had a one-night stand recently. It was someone I've known from years from school. I don't remember much from the night, but the next morning we started to get down to business again. My hand wandered down and a micro penis was found. I had to wank it using two fingers, my thumb and index finger. You know, like, when you're playing the smallest violin in the world. Instead of using my whole hand, the most awkward encounter of my life,
Starting point is 00:38:00 no wonder I don't remember the sex from the night before. He's sins with a few girlfriends who have dumped him fairly quickly. I wonder why. That's a sin. Just with two fingers. Weak, what, wow. Yeah, because you can't fit your hat. There's not enough there to put your hand around it.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Listen, she did what she had to do. I mean, I don't know how. you do such a thing because I don't do stuff like that obviously mum right but I'm imagining your hand has to go around so she's just she had a great time two fingers he had a great time he's a fucking great time oh my god
Starting point is 00:38:35 that's sad buckle up buckle up I'm buckled I'm buckled in tight I started seeing someone back in April and both of us were about six months out of long term relationships we got very intense very quickly and he was staying at my flat and I was staying at his mum's at vice versa he was telling me he only wanted me and I
Starting point is 00:38:53 very hard. Flash forward three weeks and he's on a boy's holiday where he's messaging every day saying he misses me and only wants me. I walk out of hospital uni placement. To a voice not saying he'd basically slept with someone else. I was in pieces. Because I was so besotted, I forgave him when he got home as he really begged me for it. I then went on a uni placement in Asia for five weeks over summer so he basically said he couldn't do it and things got a bit toxic. We rekindled when I came back and it was lovely but due to prior events there is so much more. He didn't think it would work long term. He came round to endings
Starting point is 00:39:26 and was breaking his heart and tears. It stayed over and the next day he said he thought it was worth it to try and make it work. The next weekend he went to the cinema at dinner and had a lovely time together. Two days later he's back crying in my flat and told me he can't give me what I need.
Starting point is 00:39:39 It's now in the no contact stage but I'm absolutely gutted. I had big feelings for him and thought it was going to be something special. I think we both had big feelings but maybe just weren't compatible, heartbroken. That's a shame I feel like I feel like you both want this.
Starting point is 00:39:53 I don't really understand that at all. Check, there's an issue there? On his part, yeah. I don't know. Is he feeling guilty about something he really likes when you just can't move forward? Has he done it again? And he thinks he might lose her.
Starting point is 00:40:10 Well, she did say due to prior events and then in brackets there is so much more. Okay. So it's maybe not that one cheating thing that she's told us about. There maybe has a few different things. But it is given toxic and I know you're so heartbroken,
Starting point is 00:40:22 but I feel like you're. just need to leave him in the past. Yeah. It's giving like he's a bit self-sabotaging a little. Yeah. That's a shame. I hate that, especially when it's something turns a bit toxic as well because you're both really obviously wanting this to work,
Starting point is 00:40:37 but it's just not working. You can't align in your... Maybe you're just not compatible. Yeah. You can get on with someone but not be compatible in a relationship. But this is one of those things where if they do both go their separate ways, they'll always have unfinished business with one another. Because they're leaving it both.
Starting point is 00:40:56 But I guess you do leave things both sad, knowing that it's still for the best, though. Yeah, but why is it for the best? Because of things that have happened in the past. Why can't they move forward from it together? What's the problem? What is the roadblock? Well, he's now said he can't give her what she needs.
Starting point is 00:41:12 I just think you're going to need to ride the wave of the heartbreak. Maybe he's got commitment issues. Yeah. But you don't deserve that. She's obviously wanting this to become something. He's had a little bit of fun in the past, and he's probably thinking, I really like her so much,
Starting point is 00:41:30 but I can't commit to this because I can't trust myself when I'm away, potentially. Maybe he's not ready. Yeah. Yeah. And you know what? It'll be one of those cases where it's too little too late,
Starting point is 00:41:42 later down the line. Absolutely. When he's ready. But I think now that he's done this a couple of times, it's up to you now to say there's no coming back. Yeah. That's strong. You've made you're just saying.
Starting point is 00:41:50 get in your bed and lie in it. Is that the phrase? You made your bed lying it. Lie in it. Fall into a deep sleep. A coma, perhaps. You're not coming back. Well, I really do hope you wake up for me coming.
Starting point is 00:42:03 No, I don't mean honey on him. And him. Yeah, it's a nice coma. We're just keeping your way from me. You can live life elsewhere. Okay. Love the Pod Girls. I just watched the clip of the girl speaking about online dating and having the fear.
Starting point is 00:42:19 Find myself in the same. situation recently after splitting for my husband after 14 years. Wow. Love that. That is great but I'm scared. Scared but great that she's gone back on dating. Absolutely. I came across an Instagram page called Thursday dating.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Wow, that's so weird. We were talking about this yesterday. They take over bars in Glasgow and Edinburgh and it's full of singles. You buy a ticket and need to provide ID, etc. So just one for the girls who maybe aren't a fan of the online situation. This is so strange, right? Me and Zoe were talking about this yesterday because the guys, who I that owns Thursday
Starting point is 00:42:53 liked one of our reels. It's make more sense to me now, right, okay. Because he's a verified account, I clicked on him, you know, because it always comes to the top. And it said, founder of Thursday,
Starting point is 00:43:04 and I thought, oh my God, that's the app. I've heard of it before. My friend, Sarah, actually told me about it years ago. And it was big in London at the time. I think it... Oh, so it's been around for a while then?
Starting point is 00:43:12 Oh, to be around for a few years, yeah. Good few years, actually. And it originated in London, I'm sure. And they would... Because it's easier then, isn't it? Like we said, we're in London, and everybody's out in about, especially on a Thursday. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:23 And there's a lot more elder singles that don't really want to fuck about. They're all there for the same thing, aren't they? So they're a bit more confident to go and do these things. So they would organise, they'd hire out a whole bar, and everybody in that bar was single and ready to mingle. I freaking love that. I think that's a great idea. So I'm guessing, as this girl's saying,
Starting point is 00:43:46 it's come to Glasgow and Edinburgh. But yeah, there's nothing more meeting on Thursdays. that's it nothing wrong with Megan on a Thursday on Thursdays by the way get involved in that
Starting point is 00:43:56 if you're a single preangle absolutely go there especially if you want that sort of organic meeting I also feel like they're quite a cool business so
Starting point is 00:44:04 and I don't mean this bad but I feel like the kind of people that really want to meet someone but don't know where these like many people are going I feel like that's maybe quite a good clientele their Instagram is well cool
Starting point is 00:44:16 yeah really cool by the way like if I was I'm going to take a single pal, I got at that. I think that'd be a lot. I think that'd be a lot. I think that's catered a bit more to slightly older. I'm talking corporate girlies in that.
Starting point is 00:44:28 Corporate girlies in their mid to late 30s, I'm going to say. I mean, I could be wrong, but that's what it's giving. I think if I was 20, I probably wouldn't be brave enough to do that. I'll be honest. And I can't imagine that anyone, any guy that's in their 20s would be going to something like that. Yeah, fair point. I know what you mean. You kind of need, you really need to know yourself to like put yourself out there at something like that.
Starting point is 00:44:49 Yeah. Because also you're going there and you're going to need you of the comments to speak to people. Mm-hmm. You're no going to sit at a table with your pals and hoping someone speaks to you or you maybe chat to them at the bar.
Starting point is 00:44:59 You're there for that reason. Yeah. So you need to go for it. All right. So Thursdays, if you'd like to sponsor the pod, then please contact us at a lot on your plate pod on Instagram. That would be a great sponsor for the pod. It would, by the way.

And honestly, I just thought to myself, the stuff that I've managed to get done is phenomenal in comparison to being at home with feral child.
Starting point is 00:48:02 I do load. I'm very productive in it as well. The issue for me is the Wi-Fi. I'm struggling to download things, upload things. Yeah. But get that sorted. Not your guy's issue. I think my child's back at home,
Starting point is 00:48:11 clean and jerking and burping with his dad because that's explains how he's just some sort of beast. whilst I'm scrolling away in the office He's get him lifting It must be There's no explanation as to why that child is the way he is He's seven months and he's doing backflips Yeah
