Starting point is 00:00:00 Because a lot of you guys messes like, what do we get for someone that I don't know at work? I just think start with the basics, right? See if it's a workplace. Honestly, a good mug. Or a funny mug. Yeah, funny mug. Like, I remember my friend at work got me a mug and it had abo on it. much obviously enjoyed but it also said
Starting point is 00:00:29 have a tea on me or something like that instead of take a chance on me it was something like that I can't remember the saying now which is annoying me because it was good but like wee things like that like see if they've even mentioned they like something once like just play in it and get it on get a funny saying on a mug or
Starting point is 00:00:44 or their like dog that they have pinned their laptop on a thing we were saying as well anthropology and Oliver Bonas do some really nice mugs like if you're buying for a girl maybe yeah like a bit more aesthetically pleasing I wrote this as well because I thought this is quite good but you know when you go into an office and there's always someone that's into certain food
Starting point is 00:01:02 like I had a lot of friends that were into that hot sauces they'd always have like a hot sauce on the desk there's so many different types of hot sauces you can get from things like small businesses but also Selfridges Food Hall or Whole Foods and there's like a truffle hot sauce I saw online yesterday also that pig's hot honey that small business that we spoke about
Starting point is 00:01:19 anyone that likes food again that's such a good idea I think that's good for an office as well because see now that you mention it right because I feel like everyone keeps sauces in their drawer so that no one steals my out of fridge. Yeah. Like I used to keep serrachamil. I also used to keep a wee tub of crispy onions. Yum. And honey. Yeah. For like your porridge or whatever. Yeah. So that actually is a really good one. You could even make up a wee, a wee box or different ones if you know that they have a few. That'd be cute. I wrote here, personalised bobbles. Again, there's so many
Starting point is 00:01:49 small businesses that do this. You could have like, let's say your friends had a baby club, Baby's First Christmas or the dog, cat, their name. The girls that we have worked with at Manifest Designs, by the way, do personalise Bobbos now. Oh yes, so they do. Yeah. And Christina.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Yeah. Lela lettering. Stanley Cup, der, great gift. A bit more over budget from probably a secret sam. Yeah. Did you see the one in the guy's car went in fire? Yes. And they got our free car. You see that? What?
Starting point is 00:02:24 So a girl's car blew up, well, sorry, caught on fire, and she showed that her Stanley Cup that was in the holder, was a bit rusty, mind you, but the ice was still in it. And she was just showing, like, the durability of it. Sorry, the whole car was in flames, and the ice was still alive. Yes, so we're going. And that cut. So obviously, the marketing for that is unreal.
Starting point is 00:02:43 They've sold so much people in the comments, like, that's made you want to buy one. The CEO of Stanley's wrote her, did a video to her saying, like, we've never done this before, and we'll probably never do it again, but we would like to replace your car. How genius. Right, you put your cop in my car right when you say to my name.
Starting point is 00:03:00 And see what I. What a bloody great idea. We also put for guys Yeti, you like them, don't you do? Yeti Muggs is like the male version of the Stanley Cup. So get your man one of them, Y-E-T-I. That's for you guys, got me. Yeah, we got you that. Still my favourite cup.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Oh, I actually noticed that was in your office. for mother-in-laws I think or a mother-in-law with a bit of taste is the ASOP soaps oh yes they're expensive but if they if they're quite fancy-pancy they'll appreciate that I think try like it's good to work out
Starting point is 00:03:35 like for example my mum likes nice things but not any names or like designer or anything so like me spending 40 quidsey on a hand soap she would be like yeah my mum wouldn't know what that is what like why the fuck would you do that although she would know what a Joe Malone is though obviously
Starting point is 00:03:50 No, so would mind, but it's like, there's some people who would love, like, I would love that. Like, you got me when I moved in. And, like, I've replaced, I've still got the cream, but I've replaced the soap because I just love it in my back.
Starting point is 00:04:02 All you need to do is just get a refill and just keep the flipping empty bottle. Which I actually stupidly didn't do. But, like, see if your mum or mother-in-law or anyone is really, like, the kind of brandy, like, a bit more premium stuff, like things like that are so nice, like the wee dual sets.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Yeah. Again, get some good deals. Malone soaps Elizabeth Arden eight-hour cream every woman likes that don't they? What about
Starting point is 00:04:27 I'm seeing more and more of that rituals these days? Rituals? The shops pot them up everywhere It's amazing But I thought that was a bit I had that
Starting point is 00:04:36 And this is just me being so wrong right But I can have that In the bracket It was sanctuary spa For a while Do you know what To be honest with you saying
Starting point is 00:04:42 But the shops are beautiful And they've got this The white ritual candle The main one with It's the pink wax Is so fucking nice Like things like that, I just think you can't be a good, like, soap set or a candle or, I do think bath sets are nice, right? I don't have a bath mentioned before it's heartbreaking, but I love a bath set, but I don't like a bath bomb.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Yeah. Don't buy me a lusheet ever. You can smell that under the Christmas tree, can't you just know it's a luscious set before we open it. Okay, so for the selfie, love, the Instagram love, if you've got one of them for your secret Santas or you're struggling to buy one for, I don't know, your teenage sister. get the newer light from Amazon it's 30 quid I've got it for my work and somebody's got it for her work it clips onto your phone it's the most unbelievable selfie light
Starting point is 00:05:31 if you ever see any influences online and they look fucking 10 out of 10 I can tell you now they've used this light because it makes you look flawless I also I took mine it it was already in the bag that I took out a few weeks ago for my friend's birthday night out and I knew she would want a picture
Starting point is 00:05:45 because like she doesn't post much but when she's thought about her outfit she's like you need to get a pick of me It was Lindsay. Yeah. Named and shame, Lindsay. She also, no one else was going glam, but she wanted to go glam, so she went glam. Oh, girl, you do you.
Starting point is 00:05:59 And I pulled this light out, and all the guys were actually, like, what the fuck is that? And why have you got that with you? And I was at, look, I know it's quite embarrassing, but this is worth it. And we just say it's only literally the size of your hand as well.
Starting point is 00:06:08 It's not a big light. It's not literally clips onto the top of your phone. Remember the wee round ones people clipped on? Yeah. But it's actually, see if you're into your pictures, it's so worth it. So powerful. Who cares what people think?
Starting point is 00:06:18 There's also another little present I've sent to my mom to get for me. It was a phone case, and if you've seen it, it's just got all the sucky bits on the back of the phone case. So you can stick it to like a mirror, a window, if you want to take, like, content or obviously I need that more for my work. I'm thinking it more for that. But if you do have a friend that is into that or likes taking selfies or TikToks,
Starting point is 00:06:41 TikTok dancing videos, perfect for that. If you can't be asked for a tripod, cookbooks, coffee table books are great for mother-in-law. think the Soho House ones are only 30 quid and me and all the girls have got them in our coffee table. Also, have a look at TK Max before you buy any because that's where I found all of mine. Did you?
Starting point is 00:06:59 Yeah, or Amazon as well. Yeah, Amazon do them. And the, oh, I can't pronounce it. Is it the travel books, the Azzaline? Yeah, that's it. I think so. I've got one. Looking a bright colour ones with the names down the...
Starting point is 00:07:13 Mikinos and Capri, I think I had. They're nice, they're expensive though, but again, Amazon do do them for a lot cheaper. and I'm sure you could find them cheap somewhere on like Facebook Marketplace or something, I don't know. But they're nice if you're trying to get a present for someone that loves travelling. Grace Beverley has just brought out some amazing journals,
Starting point is 00:07:32 like diaries, for anyone that you're buying for that might be self-employed or has her own business, the business journal that's coming out. She also does lots of things for students and uni students that can be really helpful for any, like, modules or things that you have. other small businesses that I've saw before that I've bought from is mainly breakfast at mainly breakfast and she does these seasonal food calendars
Starting point is 00:07:58 she illustrates all of the fruit and veg but each month so it's a calendar that you hang in your kitchen basically but each month it shows you the seasonal food so you know like to try and be better for the panel or you want to eat fresh food from the UK it shows you what foods in season and it's really cool and handy for any food lovers
Starting point is 00:08:17 was actually quite a good gift. I remember, my mum used to get me and my brother one every single year for Christmas. Yeah. And we would hang it on her wall. That would be something like, I know, simpses or something. Yeah. I actually was clearing out, like our couch lifts up at one side,
Starting point is 00:08:31 so I was clearing it out. It's where the Christmas decorations and that are. And Jason, I actually bought me a pig one last year, and I forgot all about it, and it was in that couch. I was like, I'm no, putting a pin in the wall and putting a wee hole in the wall, do you what I mean? But I actually think that's quite a good gift. It's like if someone's really into something.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Because my mum and nan, their calendar isn't on Google like us. They write it on a bit of paper that's hanging on the back of the door. And also, actually, this reminds me, a tradition in my family, my dad's side. I think my dad gets one as well, but he always gets my granite calendar calendar and every single one that's got different pictures of the family on it. Oh, and that's like a personalised one, yeah. That's a really nice gift as well, maybe for like a parent or a grandparent. Yeah, and be organised with that.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Don't get it last minute, get that like a few weeks before Christmas. Yeah. get all like your grand's pets on it and all the grandkids. And I mean, if you're in charge, you can put yourself on it as many times as you like, do you know what I mean? There's a couple of other small business shoutouts. Kate and the Inc.
Starting point is 00:09:25 I buy from her every year and Amy McFadden, who we spoke about last week, they do really good food planners. Again, great stocking filler. She's also got really cute Christmas cards. Yes, so she has. Yeah. And the one from Kate in the Inc has got a magnet on the back
Starting point is 00:09:37 so you can stick it on your fridge. And let's say, for my mom uses it every week and she'll plan the whole, like Monday to Friday, one day we're having sausage and mash, Tuesday, we're having beef stew. I wish I was that person. My mother is that person. Other things like personalised PJs, we said that.
Starting point is 00:09:54 The Lanage, Lanage, lip masks and the road lip tints. They're great little gifts if you're a man looking for a stock and filler for your girlfriend. Silk pillar cases, silk bubbles. You could have the slip one, but it's extortionally expensive. But if it's Marbury silk, there's a small business from Glasgow called Sensi Silk, and they do amazing 100% Morbree. silk pillowcases and bubbles That's still something I've never bought into you know
Starting point is 00:10:19 I'm not personally obsessed with them because it's cold they're cold and I use a lot of skincare and my face, I sleep on my front and my face sticks to the pillow yeah I sleep on my side as well but if you, this is completely off topic
Starting point is 00:10:36 but have you seen a lot of people talking about that make sure you do your skincare a couple hours before you go to bed so that it's all like sucked into your skin because by that point it's then the job's done it's in there
Starting point is 00:10:53 it's doing the work whereas if you do it right before you go to bed and you're slamming your face and your pillow it's just all coming off I mean that's probably a good point to be fair no it is actually quite a good point I know Rosemary oils and things like that get them for like stocking fillers
Starting point is 00:11:07 everyone loves that hair masks anything that's on you see on TikTok just fucking get it on your little sister My friend met with Lindsay again actually I know you done a full episode but it's TikTok shop legit and I went well I've only bought that wee cleaning thing
Starting point is 00:11:21 that gets in the edges but I think it is as far as I know everything is legit and she was like I'm just thinking of a wee stalking fellas and I thought that is actually the perfect place to go for stockingfellers yeah it is you're right because it's just hundreds of shite
Starting point is 00:11:37 but things that people want do you know what I asked Richard for for Christmas actually a few weeks ago who told me to fuck off was that you've seen that LED mask, the anti-aging collagen collagen mask. What's the brand called again for that? I actually looked at it other day as well, so weird, but it's about
Starting point is 00:11:51 600, I was about £600, I was going to say the one I saw was about 300, I'm sure. Sophie Haboos shared it in her Q&A. I feel like they've been gifting quite a lot recently because loads of people are sharing it, but it I've spoke to a few people about it and they've said it absolutely works. So I need that for anti-aging. Right. A couple of the things we've wrote down. A beard oils, beard
Starting point is 00:12:11 kits. If your man's got a beard, they're We've always got nice, loads of small businesses that do that. If your man is into wrestling, like mine and Zoe's, and G, there is a wrestling top business that Richard gets his t-shirts from. Because a lot of guys messaged him after the Amsterdam trip saying, where was it from? It's wrestling treats with a Z on Instagram. They do like vintage wrestling teas. And Jason loves those stupid toys. And he shouted at me earlier saying, don't call them stupid toys.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Funko pops, the wee pop figure thing. like they almost little wee bobblehead kind of thing he's honestly I've said it before that wee room is a wrestling museum he's lucky that I'm already in the picture
Starting point is 00:12:56 before that happened because I said I've said it if you were seeing him and you saw that room you would just do run up like it's just it's just not okay the shelves that he keeps wanting to put more shelves up because he's running out of space and when Millie comes down
Starting point is 00:13:11 our wee niece he'll give her like wee cars and that to play with but it sings he's collected over the years and I'll say oh you're giving her that to take home like to wind him up and he's like no and he's like protective over the toys I can't be that man honestly why guys are sorry you but guys are losers
Starting point is 00:13:27 no way like collecting stuff that's her stuff that's her stuff you know deed can you tell the listeners that place you're telling me about please fanatics yeah this does all the official merchandise for NFL NBA all the American sports but also there's wrestling stuff
Starting point is 00:13:41 too so yeah if you mentioned to that stupid. I've been influenced here because I want to go now. I was going to say Primark, I know you call it Primark, but they've got some sort of vintage thing in the shop in Glasgow now. They have, yeah. By the way, I've seen that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:54 I was really taking it back. They've got the Bulls. Is it the Bulls? I've just seen something like that. Yeah. Are you saying Bulls? Boles. Boles.
Starting point is 00:14:02 Boles. Like, the animal. A bull. Bull. The bulls. My mouth doesn't move like that. The balls. I can't say that, sorry.
Starting point is 00:14:12 That's quite difficult for you to say, isn't it? Bowls. But I also would call like someone's ballsack a ball. Yeah, it's difficult for me to say that, sorry. Yeah, but it's huge, by the way. Is it? The section is really big.
Starting point is 00:14:24 It's on, like, the bottom floor, but you know, the side engines. Yeah. Like, not their Giles Street one. I think it's Miller Street or something. It's like in that door and it's all the right. By the legs on it.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Right. But I went to just walk out and I was like... Is it like used stuff as in vintage as in it's pre-worn or is it like fake vintage as in it's made to look old I'm not sure you know I think it might be actual vintage
Starting point is 00:14:50 like stuff from 1994 in the yes I think it might be but I'm not sure do you know where else is brilliant for that as well urban outfit is top floor the very very very top floor they have all vintage t-shirts and they also have amazing stocking fillers for I was just going to say they have great gifts
Starting point is 00:15:06 especially will be like mugs and homeware things do you know what else is a nice thing for Secret Santa by the way a frame yes see if someone does have like a pet or maybe like
Starting point is 00:15:17 a child or something that they go on the desk I know it's quite a thing right but you could get like a nice wee picture for them
Starting point is 00:15:23 to put on their dress or they can put it on their bedside or their window ledge for the yeah that is a very nice gift um okay
Starting point is 00:15:31 so we also just bought that big Aldi candle for 25 quid and I just went into a house earlier and I was like that is actually fucking massive it's so huge
Starting point is 00:15:39 and it's so heavy by the way but also, I don't know if it looks weird. It's a bit big. Because it's so, it's so large. And like, I went, I... It's like that, Jay. Jason says it looks like a birthday cake.
Starting point is 00:15:52 Is it for sure? Is it when you actually like... No, I've liked it. Have you? Because it smells really nice. It's the winter scent from the white company, and it literally looks the exact same. So, like, if you see it, I would advise just picking it up
Starting point is 00:16:04 and decide whether it could be for yourself or gifted because they'll not last long in the shops. but I was thinking I'll put it on my coffee table on top of a coffee table book but it's too big so it's on like my hall side unit thing but it is. Again they're good gifts though for like a mother-in-law
Starting point is 00:16:22 because they're like you say the dupor the white company in there what you could? Do you not think candles weren't always a thing the way they are now? Yeah I agree because I remember like my mum was still doing more shows and stuff than she does now my nana as well people would get it was quite a thing to get gifts for people who did the choreography or whatever I'm right
Starting point is 00:16:42 and sometimes they would get maybe like a Yankee candle oh my god remember then but like I remember at the time that my mum would like stick that in a cupboard and probably out in her here or like my nana and that would be like stick it away and be like why like I'm not interested in that and it was me that eventually was like can you like no that's actually nice yeah like I don't really like yanky candles now but I just think they need to upgrade their look yeah I'm just not into the smells of them just a bit too sweet for me yeah me too but it's like they weren't a thing then like that was a weird gift to get yeah say maybe like 10 years ago but now everyone loves them i love a candle yeah but like
Starting point is 00:17:21 things have progressed aren't they all the bloody fancy oils and shit they're using them right quickly let's move on to alcohol because a lot of you said there's a lot of alcohol lovers so if they're a whiskey lover we recommend the limited edition glen morangi bottle really nice or tickets for the Johnny Walker experience in Edinburgh or if they're a still game and a whiskey fan Jack and Victor have got a whiskey as well I'm sure I got that for my dad once
Starting point is 00:17:47 it comes like a nice wee you can pre-order like the Christmas packaging yeah that's cool quite a nice wee fun one gin lovers always love Edinburgh gin they've got a new Christmas gin coming out actually we'll share it to our story which Glasgow gin as well
Starting point is 00:18:03 Glasgow gin love tequila if you're a tequila lover I mean tequila's expensive but there is one called I don't know how to pronounce it but I think it might be Class A Azul but you'll know what it is if you're into tequila but it's the one with the white and the blue
Starting point is 00:18:18 really gorgeous it looks a little bit like a big black pepper crack black pepper thing it looks kind of Greek yeah it does and it's a really nice thing to keep in your home afterwards Zoe mentioned that 818 the Kendall Jenner one
Starting point is 00:18:34 For any guys, the Rock's Terramana. Rocks Terramana? The Rocks Terramana? The Rock. Oh, the rock. Oh, is that tequila? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Oh, okay. There you go. Wine, I've just worked with Campo Viejo but the limited edition one for that was amazing. I would always pick up that or I would pick up 19 crimes. Yep, or apothec red.
Starting point is 00:18:58 Yep. Or chocolate block. If you're buying for a girl, even for like Secret Santa as well, Whispering Angel Like you just kind of get along I feel Gorgeous
Starting point is 00:19:07 That's actually a nice wine Another one is really cool Called the Govner I love that There's a canopay wines in Bob It was a great small business For to get all your alcohol from Um
Starting point is 00:19:18 As always said Whisper Angel Beer if they're into beer I mean There's loads again of small businesses That sell craft beers Um online There's quite a lot in Glasgow as well Guinness
Starting point is 00:19:29 They have just brought out this I don't know how I was to call it like an entrapment or something what'd you call it? Contraption. What's entrapment? That sounds like in Kentland. Yeah, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:19:43 Contraption that you're tapped that makes you have like the perfect paw. And also through it to Champagne, Moe and Verve Clico do those personalised cases that you can get done at Selfiegers. I think they're like 60 quid. Go halves with your partner or first, I don't know, your parents or something.
Starting point is 00:19:59 there's also a small business in Glasgow called you say that because I can't say it Geat-Lowdy Geet-Lowdy Yeah they do really good Scottish-themed merch Like Scottish mugs Cards and stuff Cards, coasters all sorts
Starting point is 00:20:18 If you want to get like a little secret sounder for that Okay and finally Small businesses Do you want to go? Kanzler as a friend of jessies yeah, one of my best friends yeah and she's absolutely busting her
Starting point is 00:20:34 was mentioned to her before her candles are so good they look amazing as well she's also brought out the little incense cones that you just burn and she's got a wee have you seen the wee house thing
Starting point is 00:20:47 no it's like have you seen that people are putting incense cones under like a wee kind of like Christmas house but the smoke from it comes out the chimney comes out the chimney stop no no
Starting point is 00:20:58 that's such a good idea I'm not seen that she's doing that as well now and she's just brought out a diffuser yeah and honestly I'm not just saying this because she's my friend but she did a pop-up in John Lewis and I went to work with her about
Starting point is 00:21:10 I don't know about a year ago now but her stuff in the sense are incredible and the cones just everything about a packaging is so aesthetically pleasing and I really think whoever you buy it for really appreciated because it's so different I agree
Starting point is 00:21:23 Mente, who we mentioned last week for journals. Really cute. Modern Love Store, who we mentioned last week, for like really cute mugs, really cute candles, Christmas tree decorations. She does loads of things, like vassies, like all that sort of things, like all colourful and that kind of like Pinterest girl, if you know.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Vouchers for places like a set of, Club Skin Z aesthetics. Yep. Atrium. Which is the lip blush, eyebrows. Which, by the way,
Starting point is 00:22:01 someone asked me how I'm getting on with that. It's amazing. Yeah, your lips are great. The lip blush, I really recommend. Laser hair removal, Liz Laser. Yeah, sister method
Starting point is 00:22:10 to come and sort your house out. Happy Skin by Holly. If you're based down in Leicester. Another fair of hours. Smashing it. So we think, yeah, get vouchers for skincare. All girlies appreciate that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:21 Or even like, mud flowers I actually think last year I got me and my mum the wreath making kit just like do it together which I think is a nice wee thing for the start of December
Starting point is 00:22:35 they do that amazing welded bracelets that's such a good idea to get for your best friend isn't it or your mum I think my mum would absolutely buzzer tussle for you get a matching bracelet but there's B-51
Starting point is 00:22:48 or Bond Infinity not bold also when we were talking about Etsy a friend of mine Shiv she did a digital print of my cats for me last year as my present but I've just noticed she's really into her books
Starting point is 00:23:04 and she's got like an Instagram called Shiv's bookshelf but her Etsy shop she's doing these personalised prints of books so let's say you've got a really good book lover and they've got their five top books she'll what would you say draw like the a stack of them what's this side of a book called
Starting point is 00:23:22 the spain the book like they're all together and it's such a cute like colourful print and you could get that printed and framed for someone that's in a book love and they could put it in like their book reading room
Starting point is 00:23:34 or their living room or spare room that'd be so cute on a shelf isn't it and they're so cute I'll share one but also it got me thinking I got this for my mum one year we've got a favourite song
Starting point is 00:23:44 and I printed her off Etsy the lyrics of the song and got it in the colour scheme of her living room and she framed that and it was really nice I did that for her Jenna before that was our wedding song actually but then to you get it printed out as a sound wave all the favourite song or whatever
Starting point is 00:24:00 she told us that I think that's what she told us was romantic if you had that time I remember that was but we'll talk about it What was your wedding song? It's a country song Is it? You also got the Spotify
Starting point is 00:24:14 Yeah like similar thing Like the Spotify Like if you play a song And it brings a picture up And then it's like got the wee play button and all that, but that had the song waves, and if you scan that on your phone, it plays the song from Spotify.
Starting point is 00:24:27 I think a cool one from guys as well, not that girls too, but so you said about a record player, like an actual record player. Yeah. You can get, like, say somebody's their favourite album, get that as a record, but you can get some really nice frames where it's the album cover with the black record, can I half from out of it? But you can get, like, modern records now, so it's not
Starting point is 00:24:43 just old ones, you get like a modern hip-hop album or something, but get it in like a frame. Oh, that's really cool. Yeah, I do think that's cool one. I also, um, Jason got I was matching key rings and that was a wee wooden plaque and that also had a song thing on you could scan
Starting point is 00:25:00 and it would take you at Spotify Do you remember when Rich got me with the Kodak film reel and it pulled out and it was all the photos of us and then that was a song That's all wee cute stock and fellers for your partner Yes Right jewellery quickly
