Starting point is 00:00:03 Hello guys, happy Tuesday. Hello there. We are back in the hot seat after all of our gallivanting. We're back. And we've got a 30-year-old in the building. She's ancient. Show us your ring then, honey? She's got a ring.
Starting point is 00:00:18 I hear you all gasp. You'll be so disappointed because it's not an engagement ring. But it's a ring that I treated myself to for my 30th. How was it? Gorgeous. The experience. What the ring experience? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:32 If you're not watching news, you buy it's a cartier ring. I forget what it's called, but I would describe it as the screw. Yeah. Okay. The experience was actually really lovely, but the first day that I went in to get it, he didn't have my size. So I had to go back two days later.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Okay. But one thing to mention is if anyone's ever been in Carty and had a glass of champagne, champagne's unbelievable. I can imagine. I don't like champagne. Is it like cold and crisp and just? Yeah, perfect. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:01:03 It's to make you feel like I'm in a buying mood. Yeah, and they're like, fuck it, give me more. But my friend works in a jeweller's and they've got Cartier watches, but they don't get the champagne because it's only watches as sale. It's not Cartier shop. And if they're ever doing an event... So is it Cartier champagne? It's Cartier champagne.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Oh, so they've got their own branded champagne? Yep. Oh, I didn't know. And I don't think we can buy it. And she said whenever they do an event and they ever get that in, they say to her clients, like, the champagne's in. Because everyone's obsessed with the Carthier champagne. Wow, that's such good info.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Mm-hmm. So I had it on the day that I tried the ring on but doesn't buy But then the next time I went back to actually get it Because I had to go to another boutique Mm-hmm Did I like a different shop I didn't have a champagne because it was early in the morning Yeah, 5pm some worse is
Starting point is 00:01:47 No I know So that was the ring of the trip Gorgeous But yeah, 30 years old Glad it's all over, I'm exhausted It's not over yet It is It's not because you've got your present here
Starting point is 00:02:01 I forgot How could you forget? Give me? Wait. Is there an explanation? An explanation? I feel like you want to say something. No.
Starting point is 00:02:11 I'm just waiting for something. Why is the door opening? It's nothing that. It's nothing that excited. Don't get too excited. I think we all need to say, Is that a telegram? Happy birthday to you.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, Joey Happy birthday to you Yay It's just a little Colin the caterpillar And Can I beat it
Starting point is 00:02:45 We didn't do anything for your birthday You did? Your dad's okay I know but Thank you so much Wow Not on the A little party papa
Starting point is 00:02:57 Right she's opening her present Guys I'm so excited What the hell My best day is We say 30 funny won't we 30 30? What the hell? The Traitors' Live experience
Starting point is 00:03:17 and Siena Spiral? Yeah! Next year! If you're watching YouTube, look! Oh my God, what? Say more. March... Where is she playing?
Starting point is 00:03:34 It's somewhere in London, it's her tour. I got you the tickets ages ago, Zoe, before I was actually going. So when I got the message... But after, we couldn't get them from Edinburgh? No, we couldn't, no. I got them. But this was after that experience?
Starting point is 00:03:48 What? When they went live on sale, yes, this was after. Yeah. That's cute, by the way. It's cute, isn't it? I made it on Canva. She have printed it for me.
Starting point is 00:03:56 And The Traitors' Live Experience, baby, that's fun. How fun? I've heard it's amazing. So are you in, are we in that, or do we watch it? No, we're in it. Molly's coming with us as well. Oh, my God. Not to Siena.
Starting point is 00:04:09 She's going to come to the traders. I found a traitor. I'll be so shriek. I was so shite. Right, let me look at the car. I'll come back to that. Look at the peckies. How cute.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Really cute. March the 4th next year, we're going to London, and we're going to go into the Traitors' Live Experience in the day, which if you guys haven't seen it, it looks so good. You actually take part with random people as a traitor, but you obviously get picked before. It's basically like you're in the Traders. So I thought this would be a good theme because Traders starts on Thursday.
Starting point is 00:04:43 And then I've got, I've had you the Siennes Biro tickets for ages. No, I'm so excited to see she won that VMA. Yes. And I sent either the... video, honestly, she's blowing up massive, isn't she? But let me see that again. But I'm going to try my very best. Basically, so when I went to
Starting point is 00:04:58 Ciciena, I told Alicia that I'd got you these tickets. And I was like, I would love it if we could meet her. And I was trying my very best to get her to get you a video to say, like, happy birthday, Zerby, excited to see next year. But she's now on tour and she's just becoming too freaking famous. And I didn't want to be one of those pests like, hi, could you ask her again? No, I know. Anyway. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:05:19 That's gorgeous. And you were like, oh, there's nothing I want for my birthday. I'm like, yeah, there's definitely something that you've not shut the fuck up about. Fun. Fun, right? Something to look forward to. So it's one day and one's the next day.
Starting point is 00:05:31 No, it's actually going to be on the same day. So what I'll do is I'll try and look for us to get a flight, early doors. We'll go to the trade. The traitors experience is like there's multiple times throughout the day. Yeah. And it's three hours long. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:42 And Siena won't be on until like seven. Nighttime. 8 p.m. And then we'll stay. And then the next day we can have fun and fun and fun and Come back up the road. Fun. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:05:53 Thanks so much. Pleasure. Pleasure. Right, so let's tell the pod pigs a bit about your birthday. So how is Paris? How was your party? Right, so last time we spoke,
Starting point is 00:06:05 we'd been to Soff. Yep. And then I was going to Paris with Jason. Love Paris so much. I just think it's the best. It's so good. Our flight there actually got delayed by a couple hours, but it was fine.
Starting point is 00:06:16 So we just got to the hotel, got ready, and they went to Milan Rouge. Oh, and how well? Was that? Good. Have you seen it before? Never. I've seen the musical.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Oh. Oh yeah, this is different. But this is like a show? The actual thing. Yeah. Oh, right. Where they don't sing, like some of them mime to songs. It's quite kind of old-fashioned and sort of in a way of ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Okay. Because the guy dancers and stuff, I wouldn't actually say, I mean, they will be dancers, but you're not like, wow, the dance is incredible. It's more just like high kicks and like. Right. Quite daft, but it's not really... I don't think you're supposed to laugh. Do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:06:55 Yeah, but you found it quite funny. Yeah, and then the girls dancing and their boobs out all the time. Tits are actually out? Tits are fully out. Right, get me there. No, so we, by the way, not... Nothing bigger than a B cup on that stage. Really?
Starting point is 00:07:09 Like, I think if your dream is to be a dancer and be in that, like you're getting a reduction. But maybe they need some big booby girlies on there. Maybe they do. Maybe they do. Maybe they do. because I'd be like doggy
Starting point is 00:07:21 is going everywhere I do get it though because what would like It would actually hurt Yeah And they're not in a They're not like held in a costume Yeah
Starting point is 00:07:29 It's basically a costume It's like holes in It the boobs are out in Oh so do they have like tassels And the nipples? No Oh But so we sat
Starting point is 00:07:36 If you've ever been You'll know that You can sit basically On the floor Where the stage is like I, the bottom of the stage Where their feet would be's eye level To you
Starting point is 00:07:44 Which is where we were sat Right at the front And then there's like Higher levels At the back that you sit, you all sit at table like a drink. So we were right there. So when I was looking up at the boobs, basically,
Starting point is 00:07:56 and they'd so much body makeup on, which I think must make them feel maybe a bit less, like bothered about getting them out. Because it was almost like some of them had more than others and basically the nipple almost. I think that would feel quite freeing, you know, to be able to just dance with nothing on, like, holding you back. But you know, when you go to strip clubs,
Starting point is 00:08:14 they have the wall that's like ice, cold water that the girls constantly go up to, and put their boobs to the gate and blasts it, so it keeps them erect and perky. I think you probably just feel like that in there because I bet you the air is quite cool. Yeah, because of the dancing. But no, it was good,
Starting point is 00:08:30 and the best thing about it was, though, in between the sort of, like, big acts where all the dancers are on stage, they have sort of, like, acrobatic style things. So they had two guys who were, like, World's Strongest Men vibe, and they were, like, standing on each other's head and stuff like that. Balancing me, we were like, what the fuck out, that was amazing.
Starting point is 00:08:49 And then they had a guy who had like ropes and they kept catching this wee light thing in it and like pure spinning it around up there and catching it. Wow. It was good. It was really good. It was a nice night. And where did we go for dinner before that? It was like a lawn bomb or something that was called. Something like that.
Starting point is 00:09:08 And it was nice. It was in a sort of wee kind of felt like a girl arcade in Glasgow but for restaurants. Oh, it was quite good. And then the next day we just had a day kicking about Paris, went to all the shops. Got your ring that day? No, I got it on the day we were leaving. Okay. Tried to get it that day.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Failed. Oh yeah, right. And then I left my shot on my car train, had to go back for it, was the whole thing. And then we went to a really nice dinner that night, which was called Dandino. And that was in the sort of, what do you call it?
Starting point is 00:09:41 Is it St. Germain? Oh, yeah, I love that area. Not saying that, right, but you know what I mean? It's loads of like wee streets, loads of different restaurants. That was really nice. We'd recommend. It was in a town, but it was really nice.
Starting point is 00:09:50 And then the next day we went to Disney. Duh, Disney Adults. Disney Adults. I'm fine with that. Once in a blooming, you know? I know, yeah. I take that as a compliment. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:10:01 I'm a Disney Adol. I'm what? Yeah, like, we'd not get matched. T-Sarch on, calm down. So what have you did? I did have Remy for that too, my shoulder, which is just a bit of fun. Remy. But you know what?
Starting point is 00:10:12 I really tried my best. I had anti-sickness bands on. I took ginger capsules. And the rides really quite scary there then? no there's not it's just motion sickness I think
Starting point is 00:10:24 but I'm not really like that in any other transport is terror of tower that is there Tower of Terror that's it I've any other been to that one in Florida yeah
Starting point is 00:10:34 I don't know if I've been to it in Paris I feel like it's not as big but it might be and Space Mountain that's the other thing yeah but that was shut oh yeah I saw that on your story was that Space Mountain
Starting point is 00:10:45 it was shut for two days oh typical I know but there is And another one that we like is Crushie's coaster from Finding Nemo, which actually looks like a kid's ride and it's not. Well, it is, but like it really spins and you're up and down and that's a sicky one. So I was like pleasantly surprised at them because I was kind of like, hey, it's one less opportunity to feel sick.
Starting point is 00:11:05 But yeah, it just still happened. Oh, but it's fine. Not physically, but I felt it. Oh, really? After the Avengers ride, which upside down and all that. The Avengers is the old aerosmith. ride if anyone remembers that, you were in like a long car and it shoots you right at the start. And then you're in darknish and you're going out and round with a load of lights.
Starting point is 00:11:29 God, you're taking me back. Yeah. So that really threw me. So after that, I was no more rides, apart from small ones. Altentowers isn't too far from us, is it, really? It's about five hours, I think. Is it? Are you thinking of Thought Park or Drayton Manor?
Starting point is 00:11:42 No, I think. Holt and Tower was just quite a drive for us. Is it? I thought that was quite close to here. But I was actually looking on Instagram the day and I had like a sponsored ad and I saw that they have a C. Beebees world there now. Oh yeah. And they've got a hotel with like bluey themed rooms and I really want to take gents.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Yeah, he would do have that. I would just think like a theme park would be taking him to Disneyland Paris. But I never realized there was something suitable for him like quite close. I know you've got like M&Ds here in Scotland. No, I know about bigger. Yeah, but a C. BB's world. I didn't even know that existed. Why would I? Never would have taken that into consideration before having kids.
Starting point is 00:12:13 I think Jason sister went there actually maybe last year. Or to ask you really good. Yeah, well. I've seen everyone talk about Lapland UK. Like, is that good for adults as well? I think probably. I think you just need to embrace it for what it is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Obviously, like... I mean, I totally would enjoy it. No, I mean, is that anyone listen to this that doesn't have children? Like, is it suitable that you could go to? I'm sure it is. I think probably. I mean, I would go... Just magical, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:12:40 Yeah. Just, you know, be a child for one day. Yeah. So we did Disney, which was good. And we just waited for, like, the first 10 minutes of the fireworks. And then we got on a train back. It was like 45 minutes. We've seen it a few times.
Starting point is 00:12:52 That is about that I love, but whatever. What, the parade at the very end of the day? At the end. Well, the fireworks. What time's that on then? It was on at 9. But we were there, like half 9 in the morning. God, that's quite late, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:13:03 Because I need to wait till it's dark. Fair point, actually. Because it's a light show on the castle. Jensen wouldn't stay awake for that. Yeah, I think you would need to do like a later sleep and then get out again. Yeah, maybe, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:15 But actually, in the other park, which is where, like, Tower of Terror is, the Toy Story Story Story. bit and stuff. They have a new frozen bit. Because isn't the castle frozen now? No, it's actually not. They've made a separate frozen bit in
Starting point is 00:13:30 Hollywood, what's it called? Hollywood Park or something, the separate park. And the frozen bit was good. The ride was quite good. I mean, it was just, you know, there's water ones that like take you through kind of like, like it's like you just see the story of the show or the film. But it was good because it's new
Starting point is 00:13:47 so you're like, you can see the difference. But they now do like a kind of wee, they've got a pond there. So they do a show on that and they do like a light show on it at night as well. Oh, that's nice. So there's like different options, which is quite good. Everyone knows a rum of that Universal Studios was coming to London. I think it still might be. I kind of hope Disney doesn't ever come though.
Starting point is 00:14:06 And Centre Parks was, no, that won't. Centre Parks was coming to Scotland. Yeah. We forget about all these big bloody places. It probably is, but you just, once it's like launched, until it's actually opened, you'll hear it again, do you? Yeah, you can hear much about it, yeah. So that was us.
Starting point is 00:14:20 The next day we just cycled about Paris. Because I flight wasn't until like 10 at night. Oh, was it not? Which usually I don't like, but I love Paris, so I was quite happy to stay. Was it? Weather nice? Gorgeous weather. Was it?
Starting point is 00:14:32 It's 25 degrees, sunny. Lovely. Gorgeous. And we went to that Lourelais, Entricot. Oh, yeah. Steak and Freaks. Which we love, so we went there for lunch on. Oh, so good there.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Love it. And then they have a place now where they put it in a baguette. Be seen that? What, the same place? Yeah, but it's in like a different area of Paris. But it's owned by the same people. Yum. It's like pepper corn sauce in a baguette?
Starting point is 00:14:58 With the steak and the frets. So we went and got that. Oh, wow. Yeah. Was it nice? It was lovely. I mean, quite a lot. I only had half of mine.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Jason had mine plus. And is it expensive? Like, is it still quite good price like it is the other one? No, I think it was still quite a good price. I want to say like 30 euros. Yeah, it's two baguettes. But I mean, it's full of steak. And what was your hotel like?
Starting point is 00:15:17 Nice, actually. It was just off. of the Arc de Trunf. Oh yeah, lovely. My French pronunciation's shocking. Art de Trium. You were doing so well as well a few weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:15:28 We were fluent French. No, I know. I lost. I left it in soft. But yeah, it was nice. I actually had a pool and stuff in it which we forgot about it, didn't you? Oh, you're joking?
Starting point is 00:15:39 Which is probably the reason Jason Bitt. Yeah, it would have been. So that was quite annoying, but yeah, I just love Paris. I would go again tomorrow. Yeah. It's just never done with Paris. It's not even done with Paris.
Starting point is 00:15:48 it? Spring, autumn, summer. Christmas is probably amazing. I know, I'd quite like to go at Christmas, but it's just the risk of it rains because Paris is good for just walking about and sitting in like the open cafes, isn't it? But the weather tends to be always quite nice there, I think. Yeah, I've always had it nice. France in general seems to have lovely weather. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Annoin because we're not fucking far from us. Wow. Paris came back on the Tuesday night, had my party on the Friday. Yeah. Un-sunes. How's that? And Cici loved it. Good venue.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Very good. venue. For just drinks but it feels a wee bit private. Yeah, it felt private and then everyone was having nice chats, a bit of food, but we would add a little bit of food. And then the DJ started, I'd say about half nine. Yeah, I think it was about
Starting point is 00:16:32 then. Then it got a little bit more oomts, oomts. I left about midnight, you left with all the girls to go to Kong. I left and continued the night. Do you know what it is for me? see when
Starting point is 00:16:47 see when see when see because it was my thing like I didn't my phone or anything on me yeah everyone that you need
Starting point is 00:16:52 in that is in that room I had when I say zero concept of time yeah like I remember like I was just like someone said
Starting point is 00:17:00 that my friend Lindsay was leaving and she said I looked at her with the dirtiest slow camera which is quite like and when
Starting point is 00:17:05 you're not leaving are you and she was like to be fair it was like half 11 but I'm like to me
Starting point is 00:17:10 I'm surprised she not no she did not no no she came to Kong did she but at that point point, I think I thought it was like nine o'clock.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Right. Whereas if I knew it was midnight, I'd be like fair. Yeah, yeah. But I thought it was nine. I couldn't believe it was midnight. I was like, wait, what? Went so quickly. It really did.
Starting point is 00:17:28 And then when we were leaving Kong, we were getting a taxi to one of my pals flats, and that was apartment at 3am. If someone told, if someone said out loud, it's 3am, I would have went home. Party girl era, I love it. Whereas again, I was like, the night's not over.
Starting point is 00:17:46 Like, why is everyone leaving me? And your friend's flat, isn't it? Massive. Massive. It was that palace in there? Was it? Jason said that. I was like, oh my God. So, yeah, Saturday was a right office and bed all day.
Starting point is 00:17:59 But you know what? You've got to do it. And also, at least you're with Jason so you could like rot in bed together. No, I know. But then he was like, this is what, you never have sympathy when this is me. And I was like, yeah, because when it's just you,
Starting point is 00:18:10 I'm like, ooh. But when it's both of us, it's fine. Yeah. I'd quite like that, I think, just to like mong in bed again. It sounds good when you think about it but when it's because you're so hungry but it feels horrendous. Could you eat?
Starting point is 00:18:22 We got a dominoes and I had one slice and then I went back to it later and ate it all and it was brilliant. Oh, was it? A cold pizza is good. Yeah, I love that though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:31 But I had no food at Sisi either. I actually was unaware that it was even happening. Well, to be fair, it wasn't. Me and Steph, I was starving. I got there and I was like, I need to eat something. And the guy was like,
Starting point is 00:18:41 if you're going to order something, you have to order the next 15 minutes. I was like, just order everything off the menu, right? the, because you can only have like the first starter bit, nibble bits. And then I just ordered, said, ordered two of everything, knowing that everyone that was sat there, who wasn't hungry, everyone was eating it.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Yeah. And you needed that bar bill to go down, didn't you? No, I know. But also, I remember you's eating. Yeah, yeah. And all it was was like just chips and guacamole and like, oh my God, I had the most incredible salad, which I need need to recreate.
Starting point is 00:19:11 It was like sweet potato cubes with like chard corn, I would love that. It was so good, Zoe, with some sort of like avocado spicy crema through it. It did have coriander in it though, but it was a very Mexican cold salad. It was unbelievable. And actually like to go back there for food. Yeah, it's really nice. Rebecca went the next day for a chef takeover was considering she loves Mexico as well.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Like she was like, I've never even been to this place. I was like, Rebecca, you should. She goes, I'm coming tomorrow with Scott because it was her birthday. And she was like a chef taken over at C.C. restaurant. And she said it was amazing. Yeah. I just thought, so I basically got in touch with them to say like do you do events and they were like, yeah we do
Starting point is 00:19:51 because I didn't really want a party that was like a big private room. Yeah. And then, so I basically, if you've been in, I just hired like the back corner that's opposite, the outside bit. Yeah. And because it's up the wee stairs, it feels quite private. See, when I walked in, like I was actually, wow, it's fucking amazing in here.
Starting point is 00:20:10 See, because it was quite dark. And they had like candles and the tables and the balloons and it looked out to Glasgow. It was lovely. Yeah, it was beautiful. I loved it. It was great for you. Did you like your cake?
Starting point is 00:20:18 Loved it, thank you so much. Pudges. Did that for you? Pudges was perfect. I sent her like a brief and she nailed it. She did. Because I was away, so I said to my mom was like, this is what I've sent like, go and collect it. And then I never even seen it.
Starting point is 00:20:31 And then I messaged her, literally an hour before I left to come to you. And I was thinking, shit, like, I messaged your mom. I was like, everything okay. She's like, yeah, fine. So then I messaged Sarah and I was like, oh, was everything fine? She went, do you want to see it? I was like, yeah, of course I fucking want to see it. She sent me a picture and I was like, wow!
Starting point is 00:20:46 Yeah, it was gorgeous. That is bang on. Loved it. All the wee decor bits and that was so cute. Yeah, your mum and Adam did great. They did. So it was lovely. I loved it.
Starting point is 00:20:55 Actually, in the lead up was like, can I really be arsh with this? You know, that way I wanted a night out but I didn't want to be the person who had to communicate with everyone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I wish I could just sit in a corner with like my pals, even though the pals included all of you.
Starting point is 00:21:09 You always feel sorry for like, all your family and stuff and you have to go everyone just keep like checking in. I know. I feel like I didn't really speak to anyone the whole night because it was just in snippets but that's just part of it, bad to great time.
Starting point is 00:21:19 Good. I think if you're swithering, will it to do something, just do something. Yeah. Doesn't need to be a big all sing and dancing, private function. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Just something to get everyone together, you know. But my mum was saying that, she was at all your friends mingles so well. Yeah, they do, yeah. Everyone was getting on work, then, well, of course they do it, but... You have all met a few times to just random birthday nights I've had,
Starting point is 00:21:38 or, like, podcast now. I sat chance to Louise all night. Love her. She's my favourite friend of yours. I love her so much. Louise is the west of because she's just so funny to chat. No offense to any of Zerries are the friends. I love you all but I just love Louise.
Starting point is 00:21:49 But they would agree. I think they would agree. But yeah, I was saying. And Sarah, she's great. It's because we've all been to podcast like brunches and that. So it's like our friends just all come together because it's like, why would you not? And then some of your friends up here are actually people we went to school with. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Concently. So it's like we all kind of do know each other. So no, it's great. But that's it. Done, finito. Party girl. It's a goner. Not true, because we're going out in two weeks for mine.
Starting point is 00:22:17 No, I know, but like the odd be birthday night, I'm fighting with, but like me personally. I said we say all the time, October to December is party era, baby. Do you know what? No, I'm fine still being a party girl, but like, I'm so ready to like make a fuss about everyone else. Yeah, okay, fair. Speaking of, we still haven't confirmed. We're getting questions asked all the time. And thank you so much to everybody for your influx of emails.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Like, we've been flagging them nonstop for the... Christmas market inquiries for the stalls. Please, if you haven't sent us an email, please do, because we're going to go through all of them probably next week, and we're going to have to get this signed off ASAP, get tickets on sale for you guys to buy. It's still in the same location at bad because it's just perfect location.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Everyone's familiar with it. It works well, the team know everything. It would just be daff for us to change it. But in terms of our actual party night, We still haven't sorted it. And what's so frustrating as well is we were so on the ball with it as well, like months and months ago. I know.
Starting point is 00:23:17 It feels really close. And it feels really close. And where we were speaking about with you briefly last week, and we now can't go there, that's been taken. Did you see that email? Yeah. So leave it with us. We're not, it's not a no, but it either is a yes,
Starting point is 00:23:32 TBC or maybe the date might have to change. Yeah. I think that does, we'll make up for it. Oh, yeah, as always. But we'll be there. It's two days, Wednesday, Thursday. We're going to have music, just good vibes. It's start the festivities.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Everyone loves it. Please come along. And come along on your own. It's such a fine thing to come on your own. Bring anyone. You don't have to listen to the podcast. It's like going to Selverburn. Literally.
Starting point is 00:23:55 And we're just there. You didn't have to chat to us if you don't want. Just Selverbun. I want to know how your trip was. It was amazing, actually. So I went down to Lester first for my friend's baby shower, baby lunch should we call it that was really lovely
Starting point is 00:24:16 Richard came with me and then he drove back up the road and then I flew from Birmingham with my mum and Jensen to Budapest first time loved it guys so much you've been haven't you yeah I went for five days which I thought would be too long but do you know what I felt like I could have spent a week there because I didn't even scratch the service with half of it you I guess because I was doing and filling my days with
Starting point is 00:24:39 half stuff for us half trying to keep him entertained. Yeah. So I was looking at different things for kids and adults to do. But we didn't go to any spas because the ones that people talk to you about, like, kids can't go. But there is a place called Aquar World, I think, which is in a hotel complex where children can go.
Starting point is 00:24:58 So check that out. I've made a Google map and I'll share it in the newsletter. I'm still yet to, by the time this comes out, I probably will have shared quite a bit, to be fair. But in fact, actually, this is a big fat lie. If you're listening to this and you're on Patreon, you'll have watched my whole hour vlog that I've edited and you can... True.
Starting point is 00:25:12 That's out on Friday. Very good point. So, yes. And it's, I show you everything in that vlog. So you love it to watch it. Yeah, it's a good one actually. You'll like it. So I vlogged everything and then I also...
Starting point is 00:25:24 It was funny because when I was taking content it was like, right. So I'm vlogging and then I'll be like, landscape, portrait for reals. And I'm like, not in everything down in my Google map for the maps. I was like, fucking I, this is exhausting pictures. Oh, no. Do you not think in your vlogging as well? Like, when I've ever done it, we've been a way. or whatever, we then look at her phone and we've not got one picture.
Starting point is 00:25:44 Exactly. Because you just think of video of everything. Yeah. But what I will say is, I would say it's very, all different types of content. Like the vlog is going to be very different to the reals. It's not, the vlog was more like me chatting and just. Is it for there with you? Yeah, definitely.
Starting point is 00:25:57 Just our usual style. So if you're not on Patreon, please sign up and watch all of our vlogs, all of our side dishes. Just to remission to sign up on the web browser, you will get it for five pounds a month. It's a lot cheaper. We've been having quite a few messages and emails of people finding it difficult to sign up via the app. Don't know what's going on with it. But try and sign up be the web browser. It seems to work.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Or if you go into your Spotify feed, you'll see the little locked icon. It's available now. You can click that and it will take you via Spotify. And apparently that's a bit cheaper as well. Well. I know. It's the iOS fee. We've mentioned it all the time.
Starting point is 00:26:35 But we'd love to have you over there. We really appreciate all your guys support and we couldn't genuinely do the main episodes. without our Patreon piggyes. And we make up for that fiver, our fucking month, let me tell you that. We do. Do you know what I'm thinking about next month's giveaway? Because we're about to go and pick the V winner.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Yeah. In tomorrow, I think we should get cosmetic consult to give us some eye patches and some, what do you think? Yes. I'm going to message them today. Okay, I love that one.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Yeah. I'm like, why haven't we done that yet? I know. My mom said to me, so can I ask you a question, Jessica? I, I'm a question. a paying customer on Patreon, which she is fair foxtra. And she's like, and I enter all these competitions.
Starting point is 00:27:16 And I know for a fact, if I was picked, you wouldn't pick me. I went, you're right, I wouldn't. But how's that fair? I pay. I was like, you know what? That is actually quite true. So if I do scroll past your mother, like genuinely if I do, and you are chosen, I will pick you, okay?
Starting point is 00:27:31 Maybe in a couple years of time, but you just keep commenting, honey. Keep trying to get your engagement up, you know. But yeah, if Budapest was amazing, I'll try and share as much as I can on just Jess and on the vlog but I really recommend it it was brilliant for children as well that's good great for food some highlights I would say oh where I stayed marine maroon sweets was amazing that looked lovely by the way it was lovely not too far out to be honest there's probably loads of places when I was looking on booking.com when we were originally booking months ago there was loads of options the I would say the river
Starting point is 00:28:07 cruises a must go at the time when it's you're on the boat when it's sunset. So you get to see it in the day, or like sunset, and then you see it at night where all the parliament building is litter. I went over to Margaret Island, which do you remember that bit? You probably didn't do it. I don't know if I did do that. So in between Buddha and Pest, Pest, Pesh, is a zero, it's a green island, so you can't drive onto it, but you can actually walk onto it. No, I wouldn't have done that. I'm thinking of I went up the cable car thing. Oh, the funicular? To go over to Pest or Buddha.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Oh yeah. Because that changes what, but you done? That's right. If you go up there, I did that. Yeah, that was broke. So we had to get the little bus. Right. You can get like a little tiny weenie bus that stops off it,
Starting point is 00:28:52 a bit like an open top bus tour, but it's like a small, probably sits like 10 of you. Right. And it's an all day ticket and it stops at multiple stops around that. So it goes all the way up the hill around, stops at the fishermen, spasian, is it? The castle, all those spots and stops like some gardens. It's amazing. because the finicular was broken and apparently that was like 16 euros
Starting point is 00:29:15 for a 16 second ride up the top which I didn't care about that I wanted Jensen to go on it but if you want to just get a cheaper version to stop off at all the stops then do that we just booked the river cruise on the day to be honest I think we did it online
Starting point is 00:29:30 you definitely need to pre-book some restaurants like that mazeltoff the popular one which is meant to be amazing at night with like abandoned stuff We could only get a lunch reservation for that. Food was excellent. What's the market I went to on my own? I went out one night on my own and I went to,
Starting point is 00:29:49 oh, caravan. It's called Caravan. It's like a street food market. Outdoors, brilliant. I had some sausage goulash. I had one of those chimney cakes with a Nutella in it. Nice. I went to a Lagree class.
Starting point is 00:30:01 I tried to go to a Pilates class, but you can all see the palava on that on the YouTube video. It's quite funny. um hilarious loads of brunch places so yeah i've pinned everything but i really recommend it and the parks outside parks for children are fucking nuts i was saying to the guys here we have been like it's just not fair that we didn't grow up in that sort of world where children were cared for in that way like there was football pitches gyms um just like the next level fun fucking stuff to do in a park and i take it's all free yeah just like an actual
Starting point is 00:30:37 like, Calvin Grove Park. But that's so good. But it was huge, though, like it went on for ages and ages. And I was like,
Starting point is 00:30:43 this is nuts. School kids, that were doing school trips there kind of vibe. There was a cafe on there for people to go and have a coffee, ice cream soup. It was so good.
Starting point is 00:30:52 And that was one of many. A few, like indoor museums suitable for adults, like an optical illusion sort of place. I went to a place called I Koon or something, which was,
Starting point is 00:31:04 again, similar sort of optically illusiony, ballpity thing. Yeah. I honestly forget what I did there. But if you, but I thought it would be brilliant if you just went without kids to be honest, he just slotted in. Shops were good. Everyone used Bolt, which is like Uber. I remember using that there. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:26 There were everywhere. Really easy. So easy. Trams everywhere, which didn't go on one to be fair because that's a little bit like, I'm going to have to do a bit more research on how to, where's that tram going? I know. I'm quite bad for just being like an taxi wanker on a trap as well. Yeah. But there's hundreds of lime scooters. It's like cheaper over there. It was cheap.
Starting point is 00:31:47 I remember, I think it was. It was either there or Bucharest. I forget that taxes were so cheap. Yeah. But there was lots of cycle lanes so it was easy to cycle if you wanted to do that. But highly recommend. I said to Zoe, it's like, I'd say it's up there with one of my favorite European city breaks now. I love it. Which, to be fair, thinking about it, I mean, I've been to a lot, like, obviously, Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, like. But I would say that's probably the best in terms of, like, a jam-packed city break. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:16 My poor mom, she was like, she's got arthritis, something wrong with her back knee, and I'm like, we're walking. It's only 20 minutes. She's like, 20 minutes, walked her by a pharmacy. I was like, get that knee sleeve on. She brought herself a knee sleeve. That's a sense way. But she moans.
Starting point is 00:32:30 That's what you want to do, isn't it? She's like, oh, I really wish Paul would do these sort of, hollies with me all those ones that you do and I'm like and now you're moaning I'm not getting a train everywhere I was like we're walking I know and that's part of it because you see different things on your walk exactly and then you can't work out where things
Starting point is 00:32:45 are unless you physically walk at yourself yeah like I feel like I know Paris quite well because I've just walked and cycled and walked you get your bearings don't you yeah but she was using Jensen's pram like a Zima frame it was quite hilarious God bless her she did well though we
Starting point is 00:33:01 we did some miles but yeah all in all loved it great news came back to landing about got back about four Richard went to people up from the airport and he was at Glasgow and I was at Edinburgh that was brilliant
Starting point is 00:33:12 and then came to party and what's ashamed is I was at PT with him on the Friday morning and he was like I'm going to actually go in to the airport I think and just like surprise them he wanted to have the like reuniting run to each other's arms him and Jensen by the way not me yeah and he was going to check the park
Starting point is 00:33:30 and see like what bit and best the park and blah blah and I was like perfectly look up, ashthat, all that. So he did all that just for the wrong place. Honestly, bless his heart. But when I was in Budapest, one morning, happily strolling down the street, I get a WhatsApp message from a friend who I haven't spoken to in ages.
Starting point is 00:33:51 And she was like, Jess, you were just on BBC Radio One with Greg James. And I was like, what? What do you mean? She went, yeah, he's talking about the podcast. I was like, what do you mean? What do you mean? So by this point, I then went on to our DMs, and I was like, what the actual flying?
Starting point is 00:34:08 Fuckery, fuck is happening. And then you text me and I was like, what are you talking about? Yeah. And then all more messages were coming through. It was about 8.20 a.m. So it was about 9.20 for me. Yeah. And I was like, what the hell?
Starting point is 00:34:20 And then my friend who had WhatsApp me sent me the screen record off like the BBC sounds app. And it was like full freaking Christian names. It was a podcast, the full clips of us. It was from our viral. clip of the lazy things. That was a nice piece of place. People were like, do you know about this? I'm like, no, he bloody didn't. How good. Thanks, Greg, James.
Starting point is 00:34:40 No, no, thanks, Greg. Appreciate you. But it made me think, because I've been getting, we've been getting more, but somebody sent me this one. Probably 15 years ago or more, my friend stayed at mine after a night out and slept in my spare room. I had indoor rabbits at the time, which were in a cage in the spare room. You can see where this is going. She was so hung over in 30 that she drank the water out of the rabbit's bottle,
Starting point is 00:35:07 which is basically like a bigger version of a hamster water bottle. We still piss ourselves laughing until this day, tapping the metal ball bearing with her tongue to get the water out. Do you know what I'm being? No, I can't with the germs of that. Pen-what with the germs.
Starting point is 00:35:28 That is freaking amazing, by the way. Guys, speaking of germs. Oh, no, what? So my birthday party was on Friday, Thursday morning. What did I do? I'm getting ready for PT. I'm naked out the shower. It's 7 in the morning and I go into my bedroom,
Starting point is 00:35:45 whack my toe off of the radiator, my pinky toe. And I'm like, oh, just stub my toe and I'm jumping around holding it. Like, ah, ah. And then I just continued to like look out my clothes. Went out into the bathroom and my full foot is red. Blood everywhere. So much so that then I was sick. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Which I'm not really like that, but recently I am. Quite squeamish these days. Right. And long story short, I pulled my toenail off, but not only they only pulled toenail off, I pulled my nail bed off. Oh my God, Zoe. So the full skin that the nails attached to
Starting point is 00:36:21 was also ripped off, not fully, but hanging on by a thread. And my group chats were saying, stop being a fucking weird one, just take your toenail off. Like, it happens to the best of us. Like, what do you think it happens to runners, blah, blah. And I was saying, I don't think you understand. the nail technically is not ripped it's one it's attached to
Starting point is 00:36:38 it's ripped so I had to go to the psychiatrist and they had to inject my toll three times with an aesthetic to numb it and then I had to get it ripped off and then I had to wear a big bandage to my party party Oh my God Zoe Under my heels
Starting point is 00:36:52 You've been in the wars Yesterday after I went to Foza I decided oh I've got a nice bit of skin on my finger After literally last week We were talking about our teeth and I had a little crumble and my whole fucking front teeth has crumbled
Starting point is 00:37:09 off and I look like a pirate. I can't actually see it from here. It's not too bad but yeah if you are thinking wow she looks a little bit slightly different today. I have as mess as Johnny bless him it's like the depth of it's chipped same as what happened to mine it's like it's not like
Starting point is 00:37:25 it's the front surface of it yeah it went up the way and he said he was busy for the next few days because I can't get you into Wednesday but bless him was trying everything because he's like I know you've got the podcast Like, Johnny, I actually don't care. I was like, we'll just make a joke of it. But yeah, what are we like, eh? Accent prone, but I'm actually really not.
Starting point is 00:37:43 And I was like, why now? So where did you go then? What podiatrist? I went to, I think it's called Rosie Feet in East Co-Bride. And I thought, so basically I then sat, Jason's still sleeping by me because I thought, he'll be trying to take my hospital and I can be arsed. So I sat on my couch, Cookie is sleeping next me because she was like,
Starting point is 00:38:00 why I'm up? Shut up, Mom. Something greeting. I wasn't crying, but I was in pain. And I sat my couch naked and my toe up for ages. Like, I don't know what to do here. I was at that fox at the end of the bed on the couch. Because I was like, nowhere's open.
Starting point is 00:38:14 I text, Richard's like, I can't come to PT. I've just wrapped my toenail off. But he's like, oh, that's a new excuse. He went, oh, fucking, there's one tad. I went, I'll send you a picture and it was all red. So he was like, phone a psychiatrist. I was like, it's half seven in the morning. Like, nothing's open.
Starting point is 00:38:28 Do a phone a knee and go up and sit for like seven hours for them to just take my toenail off. No thanks. So then a phone. the doctors, that's when you can phone and get on the same day appointment. They put me in touch with a treatment room. The treatment room was then, like, no, you need a podiatrist. They put me in touch with a psychiatrist. And then they were like, right, okay, we'll send you a form, a reference form, fill out all your details.
Starting point is 00:38:49 And it's probably about end of October by the time we can see you. What? I was like, no, no, no, this isn't a black nail that needs ripped off. I was like, it's bleeding. Yeah, my skin ripped. Yeah. She was like, oh, right, okay. I'll send you the form.
Starting point is 00:39:03 anyway and you can and I was like right I phone you back so then as soon as nine o'clock hit I phoned this one at East Cobride just was my first option she was like I'm fully booked but I'm just going to squeeze you in I feel like you need it and I was like you're the best ever I'll be there so I went and she yeah she just injected it and took off being pain but she well I couldn't really feel it much and then after it it was kind of fine and she was like do you know what you might be fine because you don't have much action in your pinky toe yeah it's at the end of your body like not a lot's flown there like it's usually fine
Starting point is 00:39:34 but it was starting to get like pulsing and achy but I think it's obviously bruised it as well like the impact but I said to her I was like look I bought vintage heels
Starting point is 00:39:44 in Dublin three months ago for my party I need to wear them and I need to wear them she was like just put them on she was like just take
Starting point is 00:39:52 because I had like a big almost like a stooky on my pinky toe she was like take that off a couple of plasters on it and just wear them and deal with it in Saturday
Starting point is 00:39:59 which is kind of what I did but then I changed into different shoes because the bit of my shoe was pressing right against it was aching so now I mean I've got my shoe
Starting point is 00:40:09 off sitting here but it just it's just a bit tight like your pinky toes the one that's squished in all your shoes you know what I mean so it's just a bit
Starting point is 00:40:15 but now I have taken the plasters off and change them it's just kind of like dried blood bloody hell but while I get a toenail back is the question
Starting point is 00:40:22 who knows but it's only my wee toe nail it may as well not be there same like what's the fucking point when they cut them in the nail shop they basically cut it off stop.
Starting point is 00:40:33 So that's that. So there we go. That's an update of how my life's been in the last week or two. You've got something exciting to update us on. With the house? Fuck yes. So how'd and Stornley Bank got in touch for me to help me do my kitchen? I mean, I fucking love this for you.
Starting point is 00:40:53 I wasn't even going to do my kitchen. But it needs done because I actually remember we had that big leak. Yes, yeah. And I've not touched it since we moved in and it's not my taste. so I would love to do my kitchen. So the lovely Louise message me from there and was like, have you got a phone-off, Jess, in her kitchen?
Starting point is 00:41:11 And would you like to do yours? And I thought, I didn't. But now I do. Absolutely. So I'm going to work with them on doing my kitchen up. Wow. Who is the foodie influencer here? Not me.
Starting point is 00:41:22 I need to start cooking all that. I think you should. No, I'm not bad. I put my mind to it. No, you're not. Lazzania. To be precise. So I went in yesterday to just look.
Starting point is 00:41:33 look at like a few different materials, doors, all that jazz. And someone's coming out to model to measure it up. Oh, wow, that's quick. Well, just to get sizes and stuff so they can create like a few different options of plans. Design, yeah. Yeah. So I'm buzzing. That's amazing.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Well done. But I can also get a few different options for a bit cheaper because it's their sale at the moment. Oh, right. Okay. Yeah. And they've said that if anyone goes in, they'll get an extra 10% off if you's code a lot on your plate, 10. Bloody Nora.
Starting point is 00:42:04 A-L-O-Y-P. Wow, they give you a discog. Is this for, so just that specific place though? Yes, so just Houdon's Thornley Bank. Where is that, by the line? It was only 25 minutes from us,
Starting point is 00:42:18 so it's just kind of past town, I would say. Kind of forget where I came off. East Rem, for sure. Right. Yeah, that's right. East Remb for sure. Love it.
Starting point is 00:42:31 So they basically, at the moment, Obviously it will depend if people are doing their kitchen and not, but they're going to run the code for forever more at the moment. But right now, it's like there's 40% off specific kitchen, so they'll give you an extra 10% off that. Or you get to choose like free washing machine. That's so good because Haldon's kitchens aren't cheap, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:50 But they're really good quality. Really good. I mean, the stuff they had was unbelievable. Well, before I went with who I went, who I went with, I was actually going to go with Haldens. It's actually in Kirk and Tillick, actually. and their quote to me was
Starting point is 00:43:05 I mean it was expensive the reason I never went with them is because the design it didn't fit my awkward like healing site healing sealing height healing height my awkward healing height
Starting point is 00:43:20 my awkward ceiling height my awkward ceiling height near the end of my kitchen and before I'd done it they started doing walnut like the dark wood internals which was new which was coming in like the July but I ended up obviously going somewhere
Starting point is 00:43:35 which was actually more expensive but it was just a nicer design in the end but I had a really great experience with Howdens and my previous kitchen in my old flat was also Howden's perfect quality also depends if you go like MDF or wood facing because then you can always change the paint colour if you go for the real wood you can or if you go for like MDF
Starting point is 00:43:52 and you can't but um Houdens are renowned to be pretty good excited yeah I'm so proud of well done but now having to like think about what I wanted to be like which is overwhelming because I just don't know what vibe to go for. I think because it's a flat. And you know, it's not your forever home as well.
Starting point is 00:44:10 No, I kind of want to go for just a bit more like modern sort of like Scandy. Scandy vibes, yeah, nice. Because that kind of matches the rest of my flat, whereas like I love the farm house vibe that we've went for. Probably doesn't really suit your house. But I would do that in a house. I'm kind of like, let's do something a bit more just sort of... I love Scandy vibes though.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Have you seen the Darsie Twins Kitchen? Love it. It's gorgeous, isn't it? I love this TV. on the wheels by the way have you seen that? Yeah it's cool. Jack's got that, isn't he? Yeah, so cool. I love that. But I really like stainless steel worktops.
Starting point is 00:44:40 Yeah, that is cool. Stainless steel worktops with dark wood is just so scanny and chic. I think I'm definitely going to go to dark wood doors. Yeah. And potentially just quite a kind of muted marbly looking worktop. And then brass or stainless steel handles tap and stuff like that. It'll depend because. What material will you worktop be?
Starting point is 00:45:04 I don't know. It depends what I go for. Yeah. And they're just going to, they're basically just going to give me different options for the look that I want and then I'll decide. Yeah. But. And you can always just decorate it with your own bits after. Like, that's how it brings it all together. Yeah, definitely. So I'm excited. Basically, they've got a sale until the end of October and it's up to 40% off or you can choose a free dishwasher or free installation of any made-to-measure worktops. but if you use our code you'll get an extra 10% off that.
Starting point is 00:45:33 How good is that? Canell Howan, I wish you told me that deal before I'd have spent my life's name as on my kitchen. But also they do like flooring and stuff as well. It's not just kitchens. So even if you're doing your flooring. My floor in my kitchen's, Howdans.
Starting point is 00:45:45 Yeah. It's a, I got the actually. Herringbone, as it called. Yeah, it's the herringbone oak one and obviously you just need to get a floor fitter but they would do it all through my house. But yeah, that was Haldens actually. The one thing to know is it needs to be
Starting point is 00:45:59 purchase through your tradesman that's right which can I recommend Gary GSJ joinery is he works closely with Houdin I'm hoping he does man yeah well actually he's gone around tomorrow to speak to me about it
Starting point is 00:46:13 okay perfect yeah he voice straighted me back and he yeah he works with Houdin so obviously they get a trade discount and then he would the key to get in a good kitchen and I got told this multiple times you can go and get one off DIY kitchens you can go and get one for five grand
Starting point is 00:46:28 you can go and re-buy one on Facebook marketplace, right? But you need a good, and I mean fucking excellent kitchen fitter because that can make your kitchen go from zero to 100. All the finishing touches and how it's all built in at the top, the bottom, the skirtings, everything. Get yourself a really good joiner.
Starting point is 00:46:44 Gary's excellent. He is pricey, but he's excellent. But I don't think there's your point in spending a lot of money on something like a bathroom or a kitchen and then not getting someone decent to fit it. What's the fucking point? Even look at the type and quality of the panel like you did for me in the hallway. I know. What fucking joiner has the time to curve that around like that?
Starting point is 00:47:03 You look at it close, it's like individual tiny slots of wood and they've slot it in like a bookcase. It's excellent, what is it, craftsmanship. Craftsmanship. Patience are the same. Anyway, I'll go some updates once things get moving on my stories probably and in the Patreon chatting that. Love it.
Starting point is 00:47:20 But yeah, let me know if anyone goes and speaks to them. I'm sure they will because loads of people want a kitchen. Absolutely. Especially when it's a good deal. My seating's finally being done next. sweet guys. Thank you for everyone sending me the, sending me the upholster.
Starting point is 00:47:35 You sent me so many. But I ended up going with somebody called Art of Upholster. They actually did the whole upholstery for Lassette. That they're cool. Yeah, they did buy Babbo. Right. I didn't know any of this. And when they came over, he's a lovely guy, by the way.
Starting point is 00:47:51 Family run business, him and his dad. It was actually Gary that put me in touch with him. And my fabric arrived from Ashley Mercia. Gorgeous. Really lovely. It's very different. quite contemporary vibes and
Starting point is 00:48:02 yeah so that is going to be finished I said can I be finished before my birthday weekend and he's like yes and he's going to be the curtains for me in the kitchen as well nice I was like who the fuck I said oh by the way before you leave do you do curtains he was like yes what do you want I went cafe style curtains he was like bloody all
Starting point is 00:48:19 okay do you not think for all these people it's like older things are coming back and they're just like fuck sake I know yeah I left that in the past and I'm having to do them again I know but yes So hopefully next week. And then I can finally do more of my updates with my kitchen. System Method show you what they've done.
Starting point is 00:48:37 It's because I just can't wait for it to be done. By the way, speaking of Cicermeth, sorry we've got so much to update you on today. I just can't wait. Have you seen their new Vinty's service? Obsessed! Right, so it's actually part of a home concert service that they've just brought out, which is £200 for the day. That's so good, by the way.
Starting point is 00:48:54 Yeah, their staff member, Sophie can come and do, like, put shopping away, put clothes away help with washings, help with organising, help with sorting through mail paperwork, literally anything she's just like you're handyman for the day but part of that is a vintage service
Starting point is 00:49:12 so they're my clients right but I missed this detail and then I saw the post about it and I was like what the flying fuck I need that and I text them like can I book in because I've got two big massive bag for life of clothes that I just
Starting point is 00:49:28 You can't get around to be art and it's doing it. And any time I think I'm going to do that, it's dark outside and I'm like, I need it to be light. So they'll steam it for you, hang it up, take the pictures, upload it to Vinty, they just leave the price out. No.
Starting point is 00:49:40 And they bag it all. They bag it all, don't they? They put a little label on it and say what it is. What it is inside. You just literally put it in post. So all you need to do is put your price, upload it, and then as soon as it sells, you just literally go find a bag, post it.
Starting point is 00:49:53 Bob's Junko. I think that's amazing. And by the way, they take no money of that either. I saw that in the camera. caption. Yeah, it's just... They don't take money from the vintage sales. Yeah. It's just... 200 quid. That's really good.
Starting point is 00:50:03 Really good. Especially if you could... How long's the hours? Is it like 9 to 5? I don't know specifically, but it's like four, they say the day. So I think it's a good chunk of time. I wonder if I could book in as well. Yeah. I mean, I'll find jobs.
Starting point is 00:50:16 I've got plenty. I think of something. I know. But I'm just thinking... And also, you would make... Let's say you've got a shit ton of vintage stuff, right? You would make, potentially, could make a lot more money back. That would pay for the day and more. No, I think definitely. I think especially if you're like me,
Starting point is 00:50:32 a lot of my stuff is things that I've like panic bought, had to wear an event and then thought I'm never going to wear that again. And it's maybe like nice two pieces or a couple of things that I forgot to deter. Yeah, like the ters, like ASOS returns. Yeah. Like I've got a good few jackets that are going to go up that I've not even more. Because I'm, that one time and I never do that, but it was one time.
Starting point is 00:50:50 It was a fucking big order. And what about like Facebook marketplace and that? Probably, yeah? Also, this is just reminded me. So you know how I. spoke on the pod about gardening services. Yes.
Starting point is 00:51:04 Homegrown got in touch to me and I know it's a bit of a shame now because we're coming to the end of like my garden in full bloom. Yeah. But they actually got in touch because I think we were talking about Christmas markets and coming back for the trees and I said, do you do gardening services? Yes, we do. I was like, perfect.
Starting point is 00:51:18 I'll book in. Anyway, completely forgot all about it. But they want to advertise more about them doing it. So they said, actually, can we come to your house and film some content for it? And I'll get Davey to come and actually do you a full. like come around and make tidy up and all that? No, I don't think it's more of that yet.
Starting point is 00:51:33 I think it's at this stage advise like what is weeds, what's not, take that out, this should be cut back at this time of the year. And I know this isn't the case for a lot of people because some people are like low maintenance gardens but if you see my garden right, front and back like it's absolutely incredible.
Starting point is 00:51:48 It's somebody that really, really love gardening before that lived there before. And I was even at the back of my garden other day and I found like an apple tree and like a gooseberry tree. It's now coming up to almost a year where I've seen my garden full full circle.
Starting point is 00:52:03 At all stages, the good and the bads. Yeah, and I've seen everything that grows and what they've decided to plant. It's a conchre trees at the back now. Like, how? We need a list of jobs for this. I'm like, where the fuck? And how the fuck do I maintain this stuff?
Starting point is 00:52:17 I know, because you don't want to lose any of that because it's so amazing. No, I don't. I love it. And it's something in like five years, five, ten years you would like be like, maybe I'll get into my garden. But it's already there.
Starting point is 00:52:26 So we just need to get into it maybe next spring. My friend Rebecca's got me some potatoes to start planting, which will come out and I think it's just said at Christmas. For baked tatties. Because I've got a bit at the back of the little fairy house thing, remember? And it's actually like a little allotment. Perfect for just Desford. I know, but I don't know how to do that, Zoe.
Starting point is 00:52:45 No, I'm sickly. I can't help you. So I'm going to get some advice. Anyway, my whole point of this was, if you do want to know a service like that and you have a garden similar to mine or you want one like mine, you maybe want to plant some plants. They do do an at home service. And it was actually a lot of you guys that DM me about it.
Starting point is 00:53:03 That's so cool. As to why I DM them. I was like, well, I know the guys at homegrown. I'll give them a message. And hopefully they want to do some videos. So I'll share the process. I just think there's someone for everything these days. But that's just so good.
Starting point is 00:53:16 Like a service for Vintid, a service for... Perfect. Just something I just don't know. Thank you so much for sending all the tree surgeons as well. And I need to get back to everyone about that. But the big priority is getting me a gate. the driveway. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:27 That is my biggest priority. Definitely. Definitely. Safety-fushed and all that. I've started writing Jensen's birthday and Christmas list now for things that you want and needs. You need to tell me what I have to get him. My mum's bought him the new Bluey Tony's.
Starting point is 00:53:46 He's come out. You know the Tony box? The wee thing that sets on, yeah. Bluey was launched last week or literally a couple weeks ago. It's all three. Do you know the Bluey Bingo? I know of them because Muffinley was quite a. anti-bluey as well.
Starting point is 00:53:59 Yeah. And if you don't know, but bluey, tonies out. But I'm going to get him a proper balance bike. Mm-hmm. I'm going to get him
Starting point is 00:54:08 a bandwood bike and a bandwood helmet is the brand. I'm going to get him a little deck chair. Did you see him on my close friends swinging on Winnie's chair?
Starting point is 00:54:19 Yes. And he loved it. So I was like, I need to get, it's like, she said it was three quid from ASDA. It's a pepper pig one.
Starting point is 00:54:26 So I'm going to get him a little tiny deck chair from somewhere, find one in charity. shop. And basically, Me and Richard are desperate to get bikes, right? Just push bikes. I'm going to get some of Facebook. I'm going to get one for our Christmas present, Mean Rich. And there is a type of seat that you can put on the front of a bike called Kids Ride Shotgun. That's the name of the brand name. That's fun. And it's a proper seat with all the safety, comes with a helmet. It's quite expensive
Starting point is 00:54:53 though. I think it was about 200 quid. But I said to Rich, why don't we get that for each other's Christmas and the bikes off Facebook and we can go for bike rides with Jen said he will fucking lose his mind at that what the hell I want to come. How cute is that? Because it's a really good bike path near me that we can go down that's off the road I think more people need to cycle
Starting point is 00:55:12 it's so fun like I know people cycle like in town a bit more right because you can do like the sort of line bikes and whatever yeah but why do I cycle in every other city but not at home? I know because it gives you the it you think people will see you and you're like and also I don't like we're like a helmet. This is actually
Starting point is 00:55:29 funny we're saying this because my friend Abbey who lives in London, we've, not updated you, but we've started doing the 10 pictures on a Monday. Cute! Thing? We've been doing it for like four weeks now. That's so nice. We all send 10 pictures Monday. Any one of hers was... Her on a bike? Her on a bike. She had a backpack on and a helmet
Starting point is 00:55:46 and I was like, Abby, what the fuck? No, sorry, that's mean. But she was like, it's a cute little lemon backpack and I just sent the face with the ice. I was like, to me, no backpack unless it's Chanel's cute. I'm sorry? What? My long. shop's gorge. Okay fine but that's for your kids.
Starting point is 00:56:01 That's a baby bag, yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah, I know what you mean, but it's either like a cool edge. And also when I put it on my back, if I need to it, I feel so weird. Yeah, like, you put that on one shoulder, but anyway, she's obviously got like a laptop, I'm shutting it. Like, it needs to be a backpack because she's on a bike. She's also her proper London at now, like. No, I know, but it was like the helmet
Starting point is 00:56:19 in the backpack and were pure laughing and she was like, I know, just say it. Like, I know I'm the ick and I was like, yeah, fine. But that's so funny we're talking about that because she is obviously started cycling London, which isn't weird. It's not weird, is it really? But it's also not weird to do it up here If you live in the Glasgow Sort of central
Starting point is 00:56:33 Belt of like town, South Side, West End But because we don't I just would never think to cycle Yeah But even if I go into town I would never look at a bank Think which I'd like on that
Starting point is 00:56:44 It's the Glasgow half this weekend So good luck to everyone doing that And this brings me artists on Sunday Richard actually is doing the soccer sevens He's in the Motherwell team So anyone that's doing that This will be out by the time It's finished
Starting point is 00:56:58 but it's at Brayhead and basically they've got all retired players, tenants have a sponsor in it, and it's basically all the teams in Scotland, Richard's one of them. I think it's seven aside. Anyway, we had a message the other day from someone that said, girls, so many people listen to your podcast running. Did you see this? No. And they were like, please, please do the Lord's Work and do a two-hour podcast, a half a marathon podcast.
Starting point is 00:57:24 Now I know you could obviously do like a, you could listen to back-to-back, right? Keep to. But I think what a fucking amazing idea that we do a dedicated half a marathon podcast where we just talk about people's dilemmas, right? So it's an evergreen episode where you can listen to it whenever. Yeah. It'll be two hour, two and a half hours long. But we're egging you on as well.
Starting point is 00:57:42 So we're going to be like, right, girlies, you might be 10k in. So giving you a little bit of a boost. And anyone can listen to it. It's just going to be parts of it where we're just egging you on throughout your run. That's cool. I love that. I don't think anyone's done that. What a fucking great idea.
Starting point is 00:57:55 That is a good idea if she'd have done it for fucking this weekend. Wait. as it this weekend. Yeah, yeah, it's Sunday. But people do half marathons all over the world all the time. No, I'm not. We should definitely do that. That's fun.
Starting point is 00:58:05 But I think we don't have to talk about something that's happening now, so it can be relevant to whenever you listen to it through the years to come. But if we do it, like, let's try and look at the standard time of people finishing like a half marathon. So we could do it like, I think I did it in like two hours, six minutes. So let's do it for like two and a half hours. Yeah. And we can just do a running one. and then we will try our best to like egg you on.
Starting point is 00:58:29 We can sing to you, we can do that shit. Yeah. You can do it. How fucking good is that? Can you hear someone? I can hear a little wee boogie. This? Hello.
Starting point is 00:58:53 A kiss. I best you so much. Jensen and Rich have come to see us. I messed you so much. Gensi, give Zoe a kiss. Good boy. Thank you. Zoe's got your present from Disneyland.
Starting point is 00:59:08 I've got your present. Do you want to see it? She's got you some cards. Buzz? Do you want to see a present? And do you want a bit of cake? Right, come with me. Sorry, guys. We just had a cute little visitor,
Starting point is 00:59:21 then we stopped and had a little bit of the Colin, the caterpillar, and a cup of tea. Gorgeous. And Zoe gave Jensen his toys that she got him from Disneyland Paris. Are we were in Buzzcar? Anyway, as we were waiting, we had an email coming through about what we were talking about last week,
Starting point is 00:59:35 about fostering and adoption. So I thought we could just read it out because this person knows a lot more than we do. Thank God, because we know. You know nothing. You know nothing, but we like to learn, as we said. We do. Hi, girlies.
Starting point is 00:59:47 I've just listened to your latest episode where you're talking about adoption and fostering, and I'm a social worker who works solely with children in care. So I thought it might be useful to share a little bit of information that some of your listeners might find helpful. Love it. Firstly, adoption and fostering are, honestly, in my opinion, two of the most amazing and selfless things people can do. Agu-di.
Starting point is 01:00:05 Most people probably know this already, but foster carers are paid, whereas adoptive parents aren't. However, when you foster, you generally don't have parental rights and responsibilities for the child, whereas you do when you adopt. As a foster carer, you also have your own allocated social worker, as does the child you're caring for. In many cases, the child's birth parents will still be involved in their life in some capacity too. There are also different types of fostering. You can be approved for emergency fostering, short-term fostering, long-term fostering, or a combination of these. And generally, the older the child you foster, the higher the fostering allowance.
Starting point is 01:00:40 like money. Some information that people might not already know is that certainly in the council I work for you can apply to adopt whether you are single, married, in a civil partnership, divorced or widowed. You don't have to be in a relationship. You do, however, genuinely need to have a spare bedroom, have the financial stability to be able to care for a child
Starting point is 01:01:02 and be over 21. Fear. You guys were absolutely right when you said that adopting a baby can be difficult. Firstly, lots of people who want to adopt, understandably want to adopt a baby, which is what we said. So they are very sought after. But actually, that isn't the main reason babies aren't commonly available for adoption. The biggest reason is the legal process that takes place once a baby comes into care.
Starting point is 01:01:25 There are lots of assessments and legal proceedings that have to happen and birth parents are often contest the adoption. Right, okay. Also, this is maybe if they've not got the choice but to give them out for adoption. Yeah. Because of this, a child can sometimes be in care for a year or two. before they are legally able to be adopted. Right.
Starting point is 01:01:43 That makes so much sense. The council I work for has recently started a foster-to-adopt scheme, which I think is absolutely fantastic for the child and families looking to adopt. Essentially, couples who want to adopt a newborn can apply to become both foster carers and adopted parents. If they are approved for both, they can foster the baby from birth, and then, once all the legal processes are complete, the baby can remain with that family, and then they can become their legal parents. Right.
Starting point is 01:02:10 It's such a lovely scheme because attachment is though in those first few years of child's life is so important. Agree. Yeah. And it means a child can hopefully have the consistent attachment from the very beginning. It also avoids the potential trauma of a child having to move between different carers. The children who are considered for these placements are generally children where social workers believe it's highly unlikely they'll return to their birth parents. However, there is always a small possibility that that could happen. So families have to be fully prepared for that before they go into it.
Starting point is 01:02:38 there are certainly in the council I work for and I believe across lots of councils quite a lot of older children who are likely to remain in the care system because there simply aren't enough people coming forward to adopt older children. There's also a real shortage of foster carers at the moment so there are all so many children who need stable loving homes. I've personally known families who have had biological children and then gone on to adopt another child including one of the social workers I work with which is honestly so lovely to see. I've also worked with children who were fostered as toddlers and then remained with the same foster family until they eventually left care at 21. So fostering doesn't necessarily
Starting point is 01:03:13 mean that a child will only be with you for a short period of time. Sometimes you can become that person's family throughout their entire childhood and into adulthood. So hopefully some of this information is helpful for any of the podpiggies or their families who might be considering fostering or adopting. It really is such an incredible thing to do and there are so many children who need loving, stable families. Lots of love girlies. Oh, that was so helpful, by the way. Wasn't it? It was incredible.
Starting point is 01:03:38 Makes me sad too. But that's so interesting to know that if you are fostered though, that you could potentially stay with that family until you're an adult. And then you would always see them as your mum and dad. And also the foster to adoption thing is quite good for both parties. I agree. The parents, the people doing it and the kids because they might not settle with you and you might not settle with them.
Starting point is 01:04:03 Yeah. And it shouldn't be like a try before you buy sort of thing. I know. The people who are monitoring the foster care like the social worker needs to be at least to know that you're looking after that kid as best you can. Yeah. And that the kid's settling with you best they can. Yeah. It's quite important.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Very interesting. But thank you so much for sending that in. It's really good to know and learn these things. Absolutely it is. And hopefully that helps somebody that is considering that or, yeah, fostering. I hope people are. I think that's the best thing you could do for someone. I do. Lovely.
Starting point is 01:04:35 Yeah. Right, well, thanks for lessons to that episode, Big Fat Catch Up. I want to go over to Patreon because I want to speak to you about a viral clip that's going around at the moment for a female jury podcast. One of the co-host said something that has blown up the internet. Right. And I want to talk to you about it. It's an influencer. And then we will talk about...
Starting point is 01:05:00 I'd love to talk about the real runies. Okay, cool. Reality show on Colleen Rooney and Wayne Rooney. I'm watching about halfway through. I'd like to discuss. Okay, perfect. And then we've also got a dilemma about a threesome. Oh, have we?
Starting point is 01:05:15 You shall dissect. A three. Oh, right, then. Is a dilemma about it? A good old threesome. Right, well, if you want to hear all of that goss, then join us over on Side Dish over on Patreon. If not, we'll see you next Tuesday.
Starting point is 01:05:30 See you then, fuckers. Bye. Bye. Thank you.
