Hello and welcome to this guided meditation.
This meditation is a space for you to completely decompress both your mind and body.
perhaps you had a long or stressful day or maybe just the busyness of life and responsibilities
have been weighing on you whatever brought you here these next moments are for you
to return to your inner world to decompress unwind and let go giving yourself exactly what you need
find a comfortable position seated or lying down making sure that you are free from distractions
and gently settle in beginning by bringing your awareness to your breath and just noticing
how easy it is on your inhale and how steady it is on your exhale and without forcing or controlling just
gently invite your exhale to be a moment longer than your inhale. This signals the body that it's
safe to rest and to release. Think of your breath as your anchor during this practice. It is the one
thing that is consistent that grounds you into presence. So when your mind wants to wander to the future,
or to the past, gently guide it back to your breath. Following the moment that you inhale
to the completion of your exhale. And when a thought arrives in your mind, see it objectively,
you may wish to even say to yourself, that's a thought. Just witness it without engaging and lovingly
return your awareness to your breath however many times you may need to the body and mind are so
deeply interwoven and the body responds to the messages it receives from your thoughts so use
this moment to silently say to yourself i am safe to relax i am safe to just be breathe in
and breathe out. Let your body gently settle into that familiar state of heaviness,
letting your muscles relax, unclenching your jaw, dropping the shoulders,
feeling yourself weighted into the surface beneath you, staying with your breath.
In this moment, envision waves on a shoreline.
noticing how they rise and retreat like a massage to your mind and with your next out breath
envision a wave pulling any stress any tension any tightness out of your body releasing it all let it flow
out of you with your exhale and see your mind as the surface
of the water. There may be thoughts or chatter drifting by and that's perfectly okay.
With each breath begin to sink beneath them as we descend into the stillness below.
We'll begin a gentle countdown guiding you deeper into release and don't worry about this feeling a certain way.
Just use these things.
numbers as an anchor along with your breath as we move slowly into a state of relaxation releasing any
expectation along the way another deep breath in the descending feeling any stress melt away
letting go of responsibilities eight letting the outside world fade into the distance seven even deeper
even slower six everything within you slowing down five feeling safe and protected four letting go completely
your whole body unwinding to deep comfort and peace the deepest state of relaxation
here everything becomes here you are safe to simply be to exist in the liminal space of your own
inner world, healing, nourishing and restorative, moving through you.
Stay here for the next few moments, returning to your breath.
When you're ready, let's begin to slowly rise back towards the surface.
