Starting point is 00:00:37 Thank you so much for being here. Hello and welcome to this guided meditation. This meditation will focus on alternate nostril breathing, powerful and ancient breathing technique that helps harmonize the left and right sides of the brain and body. This meditation is designed to bring balance to your energy, to reduce stress, and to promote a sense of inner calm and equilibrium. So when you are ready, begin by sitting in a comfortable, upright position. Make sure that you are comfortable and that your body is balanced, dropping your shoulders away from your ears. Your sit bones are even on the surface below you.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Just coming into a state of balance and stillness. Relax your left palm comfortably into your lap and bring your right hand just in front of your face. Place your index finger and your middle finger on the space between your eyebrows, your third eye. thumb and your ring finger down to your nostrils these are the fingers that you will be using to control which nostril you breathe in and out of when you are ready close your right nostril
Starting point is 00:03:16 with your right thumb and inhale deeply and slowly through your left nostril imagine the breath traveling up through the left side of your body now close Close your left nostril with your ring finger and release your right nostril. Exhale slowly and completely through your right nostril. Imagine the breath traveling down the right side of your body, weighing away any tension or restlessness. Now through your right nostril. And as you do, imagine the breath bringing vitality and energy to your right side.
Starting point is 00:04:17 close your right nostril again, release your left nostril. Exhale slowly and completely through your left nostril. Release any accumulated stress or fatigue. This completes one cycle of alternate nostril breathing. Continue this pattern for a few minutes. Allowing your breath to flow smoothly and naturally, balancing the energies in your body. Close your right nostril with your right thumb. Inhale through the left nostril slowly and steadily. Close the left nostril with your ring finger. Release the breath slowly through the right side. Inhale through the right side slowly and open your left nostril. Releasing the breath slowly.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Repeat this type of breathing five to ten cycles. Allowing your mind to follow your inhales and exhales. As you continue this practice, be mindful of the sensation of balance and harmony within you. Each inhale brings energy and vitality. while each exhale releases tension and stress. Feel the left and right sides of your body working in harmony. Just as the two sides of your brain come into balance. You the practice for a few more cycles,
Starting point is 00:07:09 maintaining a gentle and steady rhythm of breath. And take a few more moments to breathe naturally. with both nostrils. Feel the balance in your body and mind, as if the left and right hemispheres of your brain are working together harmoniously. Your whole being is in a state of equilibrium. When you are ready,
Starting point is 00:09:50 gently open your eyes and carry this sense of balance and calmness with you throughout your day. Knowing that uncovering this balance and harmony within you is available at any moment.
