A Zen Mind Guided Meditations - Just Be: Guided Meditation for Stillness, Peace, & Presence

Episode Date: November 28, 2024

This meditation is a gentle invitation to simply be. In a world where we are conditioned to always be doing—whether it's thinking, planning, reminiscing, or preparing—our minds are constantly pull...ed in a thousand directions. But when was the last time you allowed yourself to pause? To sit in stillness, connect with your breath, let your body relax, and truly sink into the present moment? Life unfolds in the now, yet so often we find ourselves lost in the pull of the past or the anticipation of the future. This meditation will guide you back to the beauty of the present—back to the peaceful space of stillness, where you can simply be. Starting point is 00:00:37 Thank you so much for being here. Hello and welcome to this guided meditation, which is meant to be a space where we cultivate presence, rest, inner stillness, and solitude. We live in a world that values constant movement. productivity and doing were often pulled in so many directions each day that it can feel almost unnatural to pause, to simply stop, to simply be. Rest is not unproductive. Giving yourself this time is an act of care and an act of self-compassion. There's deep wisdom in stillness. There's power in presence.
Starting point is 00:01:52 And there is so much beauty in the simple act of existing without striving or achieving. So for the next several minutes, this is your time, a sanctuary for your soul. There are no obligations here, no agendas. You are free to let go, to exhale, to soften, to truly practice the art of just being. So when you are ready, find your way into a comfortable position, a posture that feels effortless and supportive. Perhaps you're seated with your sit bones grounded into the surface below, or you're lying down with your arms gently resting at your sides, closing your eyes if you'd like,
Starting point is 00:03:06 or perhaps just letting them soften as you gaze gently at a single point. To begin with a deep, full breath in through your nose. Feeling your chest rise, your belly expand, and then exhale slowly and completely. Letting it all go. Being the weight of your body as it sinks into the surface beneath you, sense the earth holding you. steady, unshakable, and constant. Take one more deep breath in
Starting point is 00:03:59 and another slow and controlled exhale out. Let's begin by gently turning your attention inward. Notice the steady rhythm of your breath as it returns to its natural rhythm, moving in and out, like waves lapping at the shore. There is no need to force or control it. Just allow your breath to find its own natural pace,
Starting point is 00:04:41 own gentle flow, and as you breathe, allow yourself to become aware of the sensations in your body. Worm through the coolness of the air on your skin, the softness of your clothing on your body, the way that your body feels grounded. supported, and at ease. Now feel into the spaciousness around you,
Starting point is 00:05:32 the room or the space that you're in, the quiet hum of stillness enveloping you, this is your moment. This is your place to simply be. Release any need to analyze, to plan, or to think ahead. Release any lingering tension in your shoulders, in your jaw, and your hands
Starting point is 00:06:05 and just imagining these areas softening with each exhale as though your breath is carrying all efforts away give your body the space to release any tension and to just rest comfortably in your body
Starting point is 00:06:33 feeling held and supported by the universe by the divine by your higher self. Just allow yourself to savor this moment of rest. Feel the fullness of your breath, the aliveness in your body, the steadiness of your heartbeat,
Starting point is 00:07:08 like a gentle drum in your body, keeping time with the rhythm of life itself. And in this space, give yourself permission to do nothing at all, Not because you've earned it, but because you deserve it, simply for being. And if your mind begins to wander, let it. Imagine your thoughts as clouds drifting across a vast open sky. There's no need to chase them or pull them back.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Just watch them pass and return gently to the sky itself. Notice the quiet, the stillness within and around you. It's in the stillness that you reconnect with your true self, the wonderful part of you that doesn't need to prove anything, the part of you that doesn't need to achieve anything or become anything more than what you already are. You are whole. You are enough. You are divine.
Starting point is 00:08:49 You are perfect just as you are in this moment. You are the universe. Feel the lightness of simply being here in this body, in this moment. Connected to all things. Just take a few more moments to simply be. Just staying in this moment. Allowing your breath to naturally flow in and out. Allowing your mind, your thoughts to gently quiet.
Starting point is 00:09:48 to just simply be here in the beauty of this present moment. There is no future. There is no past. You exist in this very moment of being. As we begin to draw this time together to a close, take a moment to notice how you feel. Has the stillness softened you? Perhaps the quiet has created more space within you.
Starting point is 00:11:36 take another deep grounding breath in through your nose and let it go slowly and when you're ready begin to invite small movements back into your body by wiggling your fingers and your toes rolling your shoulders and when you're ready open your eyes carrying the sense of peace and presence with you into the rest of your day or night, knowing that you can return to this practice whenever you need a moment to just be. Wishing you, peace and love, namaste.
