Starting point is 00:00:37 Thank you so much for being here. Hello and welcome to this guided meditation for cultivating safety within. This time is for you to release any anxiety or uncertainty and to retreat inwards seeking a deep sense. of peace and security within. Begin by finding a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, and gently close your eyes, allowing the noise of the outside world to fade away
Starting point is 00:01:39 and gently turning inwards towards your inner world, your experience. During this time, let's remember to be gentle, and compassionate with ourselves. Stress, anxiety, overthinking, worry. They are all natural parts of the human experience. So rather than trying to fight or resist these feelings, let's begin by simply bringing gentle and compassionate awareness to how you are feeling. Notice how you're feeling. Notice how you're body feels in this moment. Notice how your mind feels in this moment. If you were a weather system,
Starting point is 00:02:52 what would you look like? How would you describe it? It's dark and stormy, maybe a hurricane or a rainstorm. See if you can find a word, a color, or a description for how you feel in this very moment. understand that just like weather this feeling is impermanent in nature and it does not define you this two will pass and right now all you need to focus on is being present turning inward and allowing yourself to feel peace safety and relaxation let's turn to your breath and begin by putting your right hand on your belly and your left hand on your chest as you inhale feel your belly rise under your hand and as you exhale feel it fall continue with these deep breaths pushing the air down into your belly into the core of your being this breath connects you to your body and to this moment feel the rise
Starting point is 00:04:37 in the fall, the gentle rhythm of your breath, anchoring you in the here and now, inhaling through your nose, exhaling through your mouth, deep, slow, steady breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth, in through the nose, out through the mouth. During this time, your mind will likely start to wander, and that is perfectly normal. However, instead of engaging with the thoughts, simply observe them. Without judgment,
Starting point is 00:05:40 notice if they are related to the past or the future. Perhaps you're thinking about something that has already happened or worrying about something that might come in the future. Understand that these thoughts are not your reality in this moment. They are just thoughts, reflections on something that has been or has yet to come. They're fleeting. They are temporary. They are not a reflection of where you are right now.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Acknowledge them. Witness them. But don't engage with them. Turn your attention back to your breath. Back to the inhale and exhale. letting go of their storyline, releasing the narrative, just observing, watching, and coming back to your breath. You are here in this present moment. You are not in the past and you are not in the future. You are here. Allow yourself to release the grip on these thoughts just for now.
Starting point is 00:07:20 and bring your awareness fully into the present moment where reality is actually happening. Now let's shift to some affirmations to deepen your sense of safety and presence. Repeat these silently or out loud, allowing them to resonate deeply within you. I am here, grounded in this moment. I am at peace. It is safe for me to relax. am here i am grounded in this moment i am at peace it is safe for me to relax as you repeat these affirmations feel them settling into your body reverberating through each and every cell feel the truth of them
Starting point is 00:08:59 and the reassurance that they bring allowing each word to bring you deeper into a state of calm and security. Take a few more deep breaths into the depths of your being, feeling the comfort of your body, the steadiness of your breath and the peace within your mind. This reservoir of safety and calm lies deep within you. You have control over it, and you can access it whenever you need to.
Starting point is 00:09:55 you are grounded in this you are rooted in this feeling nothing can shake you in this moment you have all of the tools within you to uncover peace to feel safe and to be present when you feel ready slowly begin to bring some movement back into your body by wiggling your fingers and your toes taking one last deep breath in and as you exhale gently opening your eyes and returning to the space around you taking another moment to gently check in with yourself now noticing how you feel in this moment as opposed to when you started this meditation how does your body feel how does your mind feel see yourself as a weather system again perhaps the sky are bluer. The sun is shining. There is peace and security around you. You are the embodiment of peace, security, safety, and love. Wishing you peace and love. Namaste.
