Hello and welcome to this guided meditation for rest and relaxation.
Find a comfortable position sitting or lying down and gently close your eyes,
ensuring that all distractions are silenced and you can allow yourself to have this undisturbed time.
Begin with a deep breath in through your nose, filling your lungs with fresh air, exhale slowly,
letting go of any tension or stress that you may be holding onto.
Bring your palms to your chest.
and just notice the rhythm of your heartbeat beneath your hands as you continue with these deep breaths
tuning into your life force as you continue to breathe deeply with long and intentional
inhales and exhales, putting yourself to sink deeper and deeper into the present moment
feeling connected to your body to this very moment.
With each exhale, see if you can allow your throat to make a soft humming sound as the air leaves your body.
This is known as your ujjayi breath, and it is a way in which you can signal your body
that it is okay to relax, telling your nervous system that you are safe.
and able to surrender fully.
Inhale, as you continue to breathe deeply and rhythmically.
Bring your awareness to your body,
noticing any areas of tension or discomfort.
With each inhale, imagine inviting oxygen into that specific place,
and having it to enter through your nose and heal your body,
breathing fresh oxygen into any space where there's tension or tightness and with each exhale
allowing it to escape and release from your body as you soften and relax your body
with each breath envision yourself in a tranquil setting surrounded by nature perhaps on a white sandy
beach or in a forest lying on a soft moss-covered ground looking up at the swaying trees allow yourself to go
wherever you feel called to feel yourself sinking deeper and deeper into the earth letting everything
melt away around you the weight of the world to lift off of your shoulders
off of your mind and away from your body as you feel more and more relaxed,
inviting Mother Earth in to heal and restore you from the inside out,
with each breath of pure and fresh oxygen.
Feel yourself becoming more at peace as all of your worries and stress melts away.
fully surrendering to this moment of rest and relaxation as you continue allowing yourself this time
notice any thoughts or worries that may still be swirling around in your mind rather than trying
to push them away simply acknowledge them take note of them and then gently release
them. Now is not the time to process. Now is not the time to understand. Now is just the time to be the
watcher. To observe your thoughts and to let them go. In this moment there is nothing that you need to do
and there is nowhere that you need to be. This is your time to rest and recharge, allowing your body
in mind to fully release and restore themselves. Continue to breathe deeply and slowly. Staying with
your Ujjayi breath, noticing your body feeling heavier with each exhale out, fully surrendering
to the ground beneath you, breathing oxygen into any tension, feeling any stress or tightness
melting away. Next few moments, give yourself full permission to relax. Repeat to yourself
silently or out loud. I give myself permission to surrender fully. It is safe for me to relax.
It is safe for me to rest. Find your mind wandering. Come back to your ujaii breath. The soft humming
sound in the back of your throat with each exhale and just be.
You continue to bask in the state of deep relaxation.
Take a moment to cultivate gratitude for yourself, for taking this time out of your day
to prioritize your well-being, for doing something incredible for your body, your mind,
and your spirit. Know that you can return to this place of rest and relaxation whenever you need to,
simply by closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths. When you feel ready, you may slowly
begin to bring your awareness back to your physical body, wiggling your fingers and your toes,
gently rocking your body back and forth if that feels right for you.
And when you are ready, you may gently open your eyes or continue to rest.
The meditation fades out.
Take a moment to notice how you feel now compared to when you began this meditation,
feeling lighter, more at ease, and more at peace.
carrying the sense of peace and renewal with you as you continue your day or go into a deep and restorative sleep
knowing that rest and restoration and relaxation are essential you may always find the time
to nurture yourself in this way with peace and love
