A Zen Mind Guided Meditations - Soothing Meditation for Anxiety and Stress: Surrender & Let Go
Episode Date: November 12, 2025🪽Stress and anxiety can sometimes feel like a tug-of-war. We often convince ourselves that we shouldn’t be feeling this way, creating a negative feedback loop in our own minds. So rather than fix...ing, changing, or controlling this experience, during this practice we create space to simply be, to simply surrender. Sometimes the deepest healing comes from meeting yourself exactly where you are, with softness, patience, and compassion. During this practice, we’ll return to total presence, practice acceptance, and invite ourselves to gently soften and let go into this space. To this guided meditation, comfortable, safe position for you to relax in, either seated or lying down,
may wish to gently close your eyes, or if you prefer, focus softly on a single point,
in the room as you do. Bring your awareness to your breath. Let's just start there.
Stress and anxiety can sometimes feel like a tug of war, a push and pull, wanting to change the emotion,
expecting yourself to feel a certain way. But during this practice, we're going to be doing the
opposite. We're going to stop fighting. We're going to let it be exactly as it is. Times the most
compassionate thing that we can actually do for ourselves is just meeting it with awareness and letting it
exist exactly as it is. So just bring your awareness to your breath without changing it. Just
noticing it mind is going to try to pull you in different directions it's going to
try to convince you that you need to be in the past or in the future and that's okay
that's just your mind doing what it does best but when this happens and no matter
how many times it happens just lovingly return your awareness back to
to your breath. That's all you need to do. Notice the sensation of your inhale, how the air feels
cool as it moves into your body. Notice the exhale, how it leaves your body a little warmer,
a little heavier, noticing what's around you. Ones in the distance, any subtle noises
in your environment, noticing the surface beneath you.
and remembering that no matter what's happening in your mind,
you are physically grounded.
You are being held.
You are safe.
Gently shifting your awareness to your physical body.
Not analyzing.
Just noticing.
Notice what emotions are present.
What sensations are living within you.
emotion, any experience is welcome here. They're all a part of being human and they might be
uncomfortable but none of them are bad they just are so let yourself feel them you don't have to
change it you don't have to fix it you don't have to do anything for it or to it just simply notice
Simply offer it the chance to loosen its grip.
If it wants to stay, let it stay.
If it wants to move, let it move.
This space you're choosing not to engage.
You're just observing.
You're watching without judgment.
Wonders.
Come back to your breath.
Energy might be uncomfortable, might feel tight or
heavy or even strange but that's okay you don't have to fight it anymore you don't have to resist it
you can just let it be we often label things as good or bad right or wrong but what would it feel like
If you just accepted what's here, no judgment, no bias, just awareness, you stop trying to control the experience.
You realize the only thing left is surrender, and so give yourself permission just to surrender.
It is okay to feel what you're feeling.
It is okay to be exactly where you are.
Mind wander back to your breath.
Now you are safe.
You are so safe.
And notice again how your body feels.
Maybe the energy has shifted.
Maybe it's softened.
Maybe it's moved to a different place.
Whatever it is, it's okay.
Just lovingly notice it.
You are not your thoughts.
You are not your emotions.
You are simply the space that holds them.
You are the awareness that witnesses it all.
So let it move through you.
Let it do whatever it needs to do.
No longer controls you because you are no longer fighting it.
Your body may wish to respond.
Maybe you sigh, maybe you cry, maybe you move, whatever happens is okay.
That's release, that's energy, leaving your system.
It's no longer trapped.
It no longer has power over you.
You're done trying to fight.
You're done trying to fix.
You're just letting this moment be whatever it needs to be.
for you. Let yourself release into it. Back to your physical body, back to your breath. What can you feel? Maybe it's your clothing or the surface beneath you. And what can you hear? The music. Any distant sounds. Notice that you are here. You are not in the past. You are not in the future. You are right here.
now surrendering to this very moment.
As you're ready, you may slowly welcome some gentle movement into your body by wiggling your
fingers and your toes.
Maybe you wish to take a deep breath in, long breath out.
You just wish to let your awareness stay on your breath.
For a few more cycles, notice that in this moment,
You are okay. Everything is okay. Wishing you so much peace and love.
Namaste.
