Thank you so much for being here.
And welcome to this guided meditation, where we will focus on the simple but profound
diaphragmatic or belly breathing exercise.
Many of us develop the habit of breathing into our chest and contracting
our abdomen as we move throughout our day.
We often lose track of our breath and forget the power that comes with it
as it delivers our life force to our body
to each and every muscle, every cell,
every atom within us.
So during this meditation, we will not only practice this style of breathwork,
but we will also honor our breath in the process.
So when you are ready, find a comfortable position sitting or lying down
and just take a moment to allow your body to relax,
letting the muscles on your face relax, unclenching your jaw,
allowing your shoulders to drop away from your ears,
letting the rest of your body to feel heavy,
and relaxed. Take a moment to just connect with your breath. Just find it and allow it to help you come
into the present moment. Now place one hand palm open on your chest and place the other on your
abdomen slightly above your belly button. Allow the muscles in your abdomen to fully relax.
letting your stomach expand and deflate as you begin your first breath into your belly begin with a deep inhale through your nose
pulling the breath all the way down into your abdomen feeling it expand notice the pause at the top of your inhale
and breathe out fully through your mouth.
Feeling your belly deflate, releasing it all.
See if you can notice your chest staying still
while your belly does the expanding and contracting.
Take another deep breath in through your nose
into the bottom of your abdomen,
drawing in the pure energy,
of the universe feeling your diaphragm expanding creating space for divine light to fill your being pausing at the
top of your inhale gently noticing this moment of fullness and exhale slowly through your mouth feeling your hand fall with your belly releasing any heaviness
or tension with your breath, feeling the energy flowing outward, returning to the universe.
Now, if you'd like, you may also count your breaths, inhaling as you silently count to four,
filling your lungs and your body with fresh, pure oxygen, pausing at the top of your inhale for a count of two,
honoring this incredible moment of stillness and exhaling through your mouth to the count of six
sigh to release the counting and just go with what feels right.
exhaling for a few seconds longer than you inhale.
Breathing deeply into your body, into the core of your being, feeling the incredible
expansion of your body, inviting in the energy of the universe as you exhale releasing anything
that may be trapped within, breathing in light and vitality into your body with each inhale,
allowing it to fill you from your core, pushing the oxygen all the way down deep into your being,
noticing the pause and using your exhale to release any hot or stagnant negative energy that may be trapped within your body
giving it back to the universe allowing it to dissipate pushing it out and away from you with each breath creating space for light for love
for gratitude, for peace, for wellness. Take the next few moments of your own. Continue with this breath,
focusing on the rise and fall of your belly, and the pause between inhale and exhale,
and the release, the contraction of your belly, as it gently falls, being present with your breath,
allowing your breath to become the bridge between the physical and spiritual self, your body and your soul.
And just take a few more breaths here.
Take one more deep and full inhalation through your nose, pausing once more at the very top of your breath.
Acknowledging this moment of pure stillness.
and with your exhalation, releasing it all.
Feeling your body, your belly, relax,
and contract.
Deeply exhale,
imagining that your belly button is reaching all the way back towards your spine.
When you are ready,
gently allow yourself to return
to the natural rhythm of your breath.
taking a moment to find gratitude for this time, for doing something good for yourself,
for investing this time into yourself, for slowing down, for honoring and connecting with yourself.
This time has been a gift that you have given yourself, and so just take a moment to let the
feeling of gratitude flow through you. We're ready. You may gentle,
open your eyes and return back wishing you peace and love. Namaste.
