Hi, everyone coming up right now on eyewitness news at four authorities and more county are taking extra precautions right now after someone threw a flashbang grenade at an early voting location.
And we're hearing from eyewitnesses there about that really frightening moment.
And the new SBI investigation of the former Kerrytown manager, what we're learning and how the DA is getting involved.
And heritage and horsepower and a lot of hometown pride.
This Black History Month we're honoring the legacy of Black Cowboys who fought during the Civil War.
IWitness News at 4 o'clock begins right now.
Right now, live coverage from your local news leader, keeping you connected to your community
and your first alert forecast.
Here's what's happening where you live.
This is ABC 11 I Witness News.
And right now on eyewitness News of four law enforcement in Moore County on high alert after someone
through what police described as a civilian-style flashbang grenade at an early voting location.
Thanks very much for joining us here for eyewitnesses,
I'm Steve Daniels.
Barbara, how's the day off?
And I'm Amber Repented.
That incident happened yesterday around noontime at the voting location on Lake Park
crossing in the town of Aberdeen.
So far, no arrests have been made.
And today police have now increased security around that site.
Elena Athens is joining us now live from Moore County.
So Elena, what are you learning this afternoon about that investigation?
Well, we're being told that that flashbang was thrown right over there behind me, behind
where that sign is at.
And let me show you just how close where some folks are campaigning.
right across the street. There is a police officer who has been patrolling this area in an effort
to increase security. Today we did speak with a candidate and campaign worker who were talking with
voters when this all happened. We heard a pop, one or two pops. I saw it, right, burst into three
parts. It was just so sudden and so fast. Why, you know, somebody would do that. I'll write about here.
That's where it fell. Aberdeen police confirmed to ABC 11 that a flashbag was thrown from a moving vehicle
on US 1 and it landed roughly 150 yards away from the Aberdeen Lake Park early voting site.
Nobody was injured, but some people were rattled.
I think if there was a few more pops, we all would have been ducking.
Kind of concerning, you know, trying to intimidate voters, you know, election time.
Pretty scary.
So police are actively investigating who was behind this, but right now we do not have a description
of the vehicle or the suspect.
We'll live in Moore County, Elena Athens, ABC 11, eyewitness.
I know law enforcement wants anyone with information who may have seen anything to come forward with those details.
Elena Athens and Aberdeen, thank you.
Also in Moore County this afternoon, the man accused of killing a Fort Bragg soldier and his girlfriend on Valentine's Day was in court.
Authorities say Caleb Fosnaw broke into a home Saturday morning in the Woodlake community and shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend.
The woman was a Ukrainian refugee and her boyfriend was a soldier at Fort Bragg.
This video just coming into our newsroom here, it shows.
the moments Fosanaw was arrested by Ohio State Highway Patrol.
He was extradited back to North Carolina yesterday.
And today, the 25-year-old was assigned a capital defender to represent him in the case.
The judge also ordered that he be held without bond.
His next court appearance is March the 11th.
Now to some other local headlines in your speed feed.
First, Creedmoor Mayor Antoine Downey is facing a DWI charge after crashing into a tree earlier this week.
According to the state highway patrol, the crash happened Monday on U.S. 15, near State Road 1635 in Granville County.
They say Downey was driving south when he crossed the center line and then traveled off the roadway, hitting a ditch and a tree.
He has since been charged with driving while impaired, a revoked license and multiple other charges.
According to court documents obtained by eyewitness news, this is Downey's fourth DWI.
In Wake County, the sheriff's office is investigating a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital.
happened around 11 o'clock this morning on Avery Street in Raleigh. The condition of the woman
isn't clear right now, and so far no arrests have been made. Carrie police have arrested a fire
department worker linked to a child exploitation case. Fifty-year-old Mark Soussey was taken into
custody yesterday evening around five o'clock. He is charged with two counts of second-degree
sexual exploitation of a minor. Town records confirm that Sousy is a fire engineer with the
Kerry Fire Department. That arrest follows evidence collected during an ongoing investigation.
into an incident that occurred in October 2025.
All right, let's turn to first alert weather right now and check out the scene at Lake Crabtree and Kerry today.
Boaters out there taking advantage of that nice day on the lake right off of I-40 in the heart of Wake County.
And the warm weather is sticking around tomorrow.
We could have record high temperatures, maybe up to the upper 70s for some of us.
Don is here now with more on those temps on the way.
How long we can expect that warm weather to stick around and a little bit of rain on the radar behind your radio.
Yeah, let's get things started with the first alert Doppler net tonight.
You can see those showers out there just hit or miss and they're very light.
We're not seeing anything severe, nothing really to worry about.
But if you go through Wake Forest, you had a little bit of a shower just passed through there.
South of Lewisburg, also north of Butner traveling up by 85.
It is a warm day out there.
Live look into a cloudy sky over downtown Durham, 71 degrees right now.
Those south-southwest winds really pushing those temperatures up across the area.
A look at numbers from around the area, 60 in South Hill, 14 degrees warmer.
Clinton, Fayetteville, Lillington, all at 74, 73 in Sanford, 71 in Wilson, and 70 in Durham.
Those northern counties are colder because of the showers that are up north.
We'll talk more about that coming up in just a bit.
Let's check your evening ahead.
Maybe you're headed for a walk tonight.
There's a 20% chance of a sprinkle falling.
I wouldn't let it cancel any evening plans as those temperatures stay in the 60s all the way through 10 o'clock tonight.
Another warm overnight.
We'll talk about that.
And our first alert to some colder temps in your seven-day forecast.
It's all coming up for you in just a couple of minutes.
guys. Okay, Don, we'll see you soon. Thanks. Right now at four, we're taking a closer look at the newly released Durham Crime Report, which shows a drop in violent crime in the fourth quarter of last year.
Those numbers come after several days of shootings happened all across the city, and now some members of the community are saying that there is still more work to be done.
Akela Davis is joining us now from Durham with more on that released report. So Akela, I know that you spoke to some of those concerned citizens.
I did, Amber, you know, there's been a drop in violent and property crime across Durham,
but people living here are still critical, as they say, lives continue to be lost.
Stop lecturing us, stop being condescending to us, stop giving us rhetoric and ridicule,
and work with us as a community. I was born and raised here, and I'm tired of seeing our babies die in the streets.
Durham resident Donald Hughes spoke passionately before city council at the afternoon work session,
urging leaders to act fast on finding solutions to gun violence across the Bull City.
This plea comes as there have been nine homicides in Durham so far this year.
Data from Durham Police shows violent crime, including homicides, is down.
And property crimes like burglary have dropped too.
But at the same time, larceny tops the list for crimes committed by juveniles.
Mayor Leo Williams says it's good news crime is dropping,
but admits he has work to do with his colleagues to continue this trend.
I would like to see any resource that can help contribute to lower a crime.
Like what?
Like Bullitt City United, shot spotter.
I'd like to exceed more investment into youth engagement, youth opportunities.
And a head at five, we're hearing from the Durham Police Chief what she's attributing this dropping crime to.
Reporting live in Durham, Akela Davis, ABC 11, eyewitness news.
Akela, thank you.
The search for Nancy Guthrie, the mother of today show co-host, Savannah Guthrie, has now expanded
to Mexico. Here's ABC's Aaron Kutterski with more now on where the case currently stands.
Investigators here in Tucson are now considering at least the possibility that Nancy Guthrie
was taken across the border into Mexico. That's just about 60 miles from her home here,
and it's a relatively open border, so it wouldn't be a difficult crossing. The FBI has reached
out to law enforcement officials in Mexico. There are even groups of women who look for the
disappeared, missing persons in Mexico who are putting up posters of Nancy Guthrie now just to see if they can help.
But there is no definitive evidence Guthrie was brought into Mexico.
This is purely a precaution just to put her disappearance on the radar of the Mexican authorities.
Here, the reward for information about her or her captor has doubled, thanks to an anonymous donation, now $200,000.
And investigators say that may be their best chance to shake loose some kind of suspect.
They're still working through the doorbell camera footage and trying to identify all of the items that the man is seen wearing and where he may have purchased them.
The sheriff suspects they could have all been purchased at Walmart.
Walmart is now going through receipts statewide.
One of the individuals that was briefly detained for questioning last week has been identified now as a Luke daily.
according to his lawyer who says he has nothing to do with Nancy Guthrie,
but hopes, like everyone else, she's found soon. Back to you.
Erin Kuturski and Tucson, thanks to Aaron. Still to come here on eyewitness news,
the former Kerrytown manager once again facing legal troubles.
You'll see why the Wake County DA has asked the FBI to look into it.
And an update in the city of Fayetteville's lawsuit against the contractor.
They say failed to finish work on Fire Station 4, where the case stands right now
and what it could mean for the project. Don?
And we're taking a live looking at our 40 Airport Boulevard right now,
and traffic fairly light for this time of day.
Moving along on both sides just fine.
As we hit a break, here are your traffic hotspots brought to you by the First Alert Weather Team.
The ABC 11 First Alert forecast team is working to keep you safe.
Oneies across the region.
Some cloud cover starting to build.
That rain is going to push on through.
A cold air coming in.
The First Alert Forecast Team.
Only on ABC 11, eyewitness News.
Eyewitness News.
We are Local News Week Nights 4-N.
630 and 11.
New here for the State Bureau of Investigation is taking a look at the actions of the former
Kerry town manager Sean Stiegel from 2016.
Eyewitness news learning the Wake County DA asked the agency to take another look at
Stiegel's alleged visit to a motel that was under surveillance for suspected illegal drug
sales.
John Dowding live now at Kerry Town Hall.
John, you talked with the Kerry Police Chief.
Where are you learning about the FBI involvement?
Well, police chief Terry Salt telling me he welcomes the SB,
the SBI's involvement in this investigation and says he knew about their participation in this
latest investigation into what we are learning was a vehicle that was seen at this motel that
was connected to the former town manager i welcome any investigation formal investigation and
we want to be transparent very transparent in it tonight the sbi looking into another case
in carry connected to the former town manager sean stiegel it's tied to what police say was
Stiegel's 2016 visit to a local Cary motel under surveillance at the time for suspected illegal drug sales.
In a statement, the SBI confirming their involvement saying, quote, the SBI has been requested by
the Wake County District Attorney's Office to review documents regarding a 2016 incident at the Harrison
Motel in Kerry. The case will be handled by the Capitol District. According to town public
records released last week, Carrie investigators spotted a vehicle belonging to Stiegel at the
Harrison Motel, where they saw a man come out. Afterwards, the vehicle returned to his address.
The motel was under investigation for alleged illegal drug sales. At the time, Stiegel was not
charged nor accused of wrongdoing, and police said nothing warrants further action. The Wake County
District Attorney's Office says the move comes as the office investigates separate allegations
of misappropriation by Stiegel during his time as town manager. Kerry Police Chief,
Terry Solt tells eyewitness news he and Wake County DA Lauren Freeman have been.
been speaking about the case and says she notified him about asking the SBI to look into that
2016 carry police investigation something he says he welcomes very difficult to do something 10
years ago when there's no physical evidence it's all a lot of it is memory word of mouth
which are not inconsistent when I talk with people but they're also not identical and so
you know third party review is is normal now we can see
Siegel has not been charged or accused of wrongdoing in relation to that 2016 incident.
We reached out to him for today for a comment about this latest development.
We're still waiting to hear back.
We're coming up right here at 5.
The DA shares with us why she asked the FBI to get involved and take another look at this decade-old investigation.
Live here in Kerry this evening, I'm John Dowding.
ABC 11, I witness news.
A significant new turn in the investigation surrounding the former town manager and Kerry.
John, thank you.
New here for the city of Fayetteville is now moving its lawsuit over fire station number four into mediation.
The city sued the contractor, WB. Brawley, alleging defective work on the new fire station and their refusal to correct it.
The move comes after the Fayetteville City Council accepted a report which recommended the complete demolition of that brand new building to allow for reconstruction.
If mediation fails, the parties have one year to refile their claims.
A second American aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford is heading toward the Middle East amid rising tensions with Iran,
accompanied by destroyers and aircraft being redeployed from missions in the United States.
the Caribbean region as well. And it comes as negotiations between the U.S. and Iran over Tehran's
nuclear program continue. American aircraft carriers are at the forefront of a major U.S.
military buildup in the Middle East. The USS Ford is expected to join the U.S. Abraham Lincoln,
which arrived in that region late last month.
As tensions rise there in the Middle East, President Trump is now touting a billion-dollar
pledge by his newly formed Board of Peace to help rebuild Gaza. The board held its first meeting
today with leaders from at least 40 different countries there in attendance. President Trump
announced a $7 billion pledge from some member nations. Several key allies, including Canada,
the UK and France, are not part of that new board. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, formerly known as
Prince Andrew, has been arrested. According to Thames Valley Police, he was arrested on suspicion
of misconduct in public office. Police had previously said that they were assessing evidence
related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Andrew is Queen Elizabeth's 3rd.
child, his brother, King Charles, stripped him of the royal title of Prince due to his connections
to the late convicted sex offender. Mountbatten Windsor has denied any and all wrongdoing in his dealings
with Epstein. All right, we're getting closer to the weekend. I think we need to dive into the
weekend forecast with Don and see where we stand on those rain chances he's been talking about.
Rain and I think a record tomorrow. Yes, record high. We could break a record from 1939.
Went to 75 back in 39. Tomorrow we could go 76. We are seeing a few sprinkles and showers out there
night live look on first alert Doppler net and you can see spreading out now into nash
county in south of louisburg also windell zembulin a sprinkler to clayton as well nothing major
but certainly a few pockets of light showers out there looking live in north hills that sun's breaking
through the clouds 71 degrees right now on a south southwest wind at 14 miles an hour we'll go from
the 70s to the 50s tonight another warm overnight very mild under cloudy skies a stray shower as
possible. Could see some sprinkles throughout the night, but really nothing heavy as far as the
rainfall goes. Satellite radar composite right now is clear to the south, to the north and east.
That's where we're seeing the showers. The boundaries actually up here, so it's kept it a lot cooler
up in southern Virginia and some heavy rain falling from the Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania
down into the nation's capital, and that rain extends back through the Ohio River Valley.
Snow starting out in the Midwest parts of Iowa, Nebraska seeing heavy snow. They could see snow for the next 24 hours
out there. Closer to home, our first alert predictor forecast model as we head toward 11 o'clock
tonight. Still very mild. Temperatures in the 60s across the region. We'll stay in the 50s and 60s
overnight. A spotty shower is possible, especially midday tomorrow. I'd say between
eight and noon tomorrow, there's a chance of some heavier showers, even a rumble of thunder.
You could have some thunderstorms. We're not in a risk for severe weather, but any storm can turn
severe. So we'll keep an eye on those as we hit through the day. After they work through,
the sun will break out tomorrow afternoon. Look at these numbers.
76. Model pushes us to 80. It may not quite make 80 down in Fayetteville, but it's certainly
going to be record warmth across the area. And then as we go into tomorrow night, we'll see a
spotty shower returning as we head into Saturday. Surface map shows on Saturday that front
to the south. This low is going to run along it, just like a car on a railroad track.
It just runs right along it. As it does, it's going to draw that moisture up, give us some
showers on Sunday. Once it pulls out, this high pressure builds in, and that's going to bring us
some colder air for next week. How much rain are we talking over the next couple of days?
Unfortunately, not a lot less than an inch. Fayetteville, you could be up around an inch or so.
We've got the drought report coming up tonight at 6 o'clock, and even with the rain we saw over the
weekend, unfortunately, still not looking great around here. Forecast looks like this for tomorrow.
Shows, maybe a thunderstorm through midday. Seventy-six would be a record high in Raleigh, 74.
And Fayetteville, I think you could touch 80.
It'll be close.
Definitely a bank thermometer down in Cumberland County will say 80 degrees.
First alert, seven-day forecast, powered by AccuWeather.
60 on Saturday, Sunday 49.
Showers mainly in the morning on Sunday.
Monday, brisk breeze 46, Tuesday, 48.
Wednesday, we're back near 60, and we do get a little more on the mild side as we head into the middle part of next week.
But not the 70s that we will see tomorrow.
80 in February.
How about that?
I know. And then look at the drop on Sunday. Yeah. Yeah. And we need all the rain we can get. There are some chances, but we really don't have any soakers over the next seven days. Okay. Thank you. You bet. Coming up here on IWitness News, tax season is underway. The Better Business Bureau is warning us about scammers who may be out there trying to steal our identity. We have some tips on how you can protect your personal information from falling into the wrong hands.
And two Durham landmarks are gaining national recognition why Duke University and the Carolina Theater are being ranked among the best in the nation.
We are back here on eyewitness news at 4 with some news you can use.
The Better Business Bureau is warning us about tax identity theft.
And it comes as a lot of scammers may try to file a tax return under your name.
The BBB says the best way to avoid tax identity theft is to file your tax returns as early as possible.
Also make sure you watch out for red flags.
If a written notice from the IRS arrives in the mail about a duplicate return, you need to respond right away.
Another big red flag is if you receive a notice that additional taxes are owed.
You also should secure your personal information digitally and use strong passwords.
Also avoid filing your tax returns on public Wi-Fi.
And finally, always protect your social security number.
The FDIA is telling some restaurants and retailers not to sell certain oysters, raw oysters from Stellar Bay shellfish in Canada,
could be contaminated with a norovirus.
The oysters were harvested from the British Columbia area between December 22nd and February the 4th.
And then they were shipped to restaurants and food retailers in at least 10 states, including
here in North Carolina.
Businesses are urged not to serve or sell those oysters.
The Wake County Public Health Center is getting ready to reopen next week at the new location.
The new building opens on Monday.
It's at 200 Swinburne Street in East Raleigh.
The building includes 88 examination rooms, 20 dental treatment rooms.
They can serve up to 100 patients at once.
The services offered include dental care, a women's prenatal clinic, STD testing, and more.
It'll be open weekdays from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
That's the news you can use. Amber, over to you.
All right, see, thanks, new here at 4.
A Triangle College is among the most beautiful in the nation.
According to a new report out today from U.S. News, Duke University's campus is one of the best in the country.
The historical campus gaining national recognition for its landscape,
including a more than 300-year-old oak tree that sits right on the campus.
Elon University in Alamance County also made that list.
Also in Durham, the Carolina Theater is gaining national recognition.
The Bull City landmark is nominated.
for their Nevermore Film Festival by USA Today's 10 Best.
This nomination shines a national spotlight
on the organization's decades of work
to elevate filmmakers.
That's quite a nod, that's very cool.
I was to say two gems.
Yeah.
And there's a lot more in the Triangle too.
Still ahead here at 430, new tourism numbers
just released for Wake County.
Yeah, we'll talk about the work local businesses
say they're doing right now
to continue attracting people here to the Triangle
to spend their money.
And a nearly 40-year-old North Carolina Cold Case
has now been solved.
We'll tell you about the technology used
to track down the man behind this long-standing murder mystery.
We are local news.
ABC 11 eyewitness news continues now.
We are back now with some breaking news coming in about a shooting that happened this afternoon in Raleigh.
We now know a 19-year-old woman has died.
We had Chopper 11 over the scene as this was unfolding on eyewitness news at noon.
The sheriff's office in Wake County identifies that woman who was killed as Jennifer Solis.
The shooting happened about 11 this morning here on Avery Street, right.
outside Garner. It's near the intersection of Rock Horry Road and Garner Road.
Details about what led up to the shooting. Unclear right now so far. No one has been arrested.
We are also following breaking new details about a shooting in Durham. Police have made an arrest now.
Days after a young person was shot and killed. That shooting happened Monday at this gas station on
South Alston Avenue. Today police arrested 18-year-old Donnell Stanford. A 16-year-old was also
arrested, but their identity has not yet been released due to their age. And the investigation right now is
still ongoing. Police say there soon may be more charges and arrests.
Right now at 4 o'clock, we're getting a closer look at some new tourism numbers in Wake
County to see how much money people are spending when they come visit the triangle.
And tonight we're working to learn how local officials are working to draw more visitors to our area.
Michael Perchick joins us live in downtown Raleigh. So Michael, what are those latest numbers revealing?
Steve Amber, it's a bit of a mixed bag improvement in the food and beverage industry,
a bit of a dip. However, when it comes to hotel occupancy, tonight,
The push continues to attract more high-profile events, like the one behind me.
QuilkotCon is like the modern quilting Olympics.
Organizers expect about 25,000 attendees for the annual gathering.
Of that group, 80% are out of state, and 5% are international.
We've got hotel blocks at six different hotels, but we've sold through all of those so fast
that we really have people all over Raleigh as far as North Hills staying all over the place,
wherever they could find a room, really.
In 2025, hotel occupancy in Wake County dipped by about 3%, though still well above state and national averages.
Travel has been a challenge really nationwide, and that's a number of factors.
Government shutdown, consumer confidence, geopolitical tensions.
Dennis Edwards with Visit Raleigh believes the region's diverse offerings have been essential in blunting some of that impact.
The groundbreaking of the Omni Hotel celebrated as a major milestone, ultimately towards a goal of hosting
larger groups and simultaneous conventions.
But past the immediate downtown area, Edwards says, as the county as a whole grows, so does
the need for more lodging.
If you look at all the construction going on in Fugueva Arena and Holly Springs from a
corporate standpoint, they don't have hardly any hotel product down there.
So we know that there's a need for not just select hotels, but conference hotels,
full service hotels in those markets.
And it is an issue they're working on addressing hosting a hotel.
Development Summit next week, inviting municipalities from across Wake County to try and get in front of nearly three dozen developers make their pitches learn more about what those options could potentially look like.
Coming up at five, we head to the western part of the state, how they're rebounding in light of Hurricane Helene, why they feel confident that this could be a solid spring in the weeks ahead.
In Raleigh, I'm Michael Perchick, ABC 11, eyewitness News.
Yeah, they still need our help. Our money being spent there in Western North Carolina at helping recover. We'll see you next hour. Michael, thanks.
Speaking of tourism and travel, let's go to RDU Airport right now.
Officials there held a big ribbon cutting today for some of the newest restaurants right inside Terminal 1.
That includes a new Raleigh Beer Garden, a new Italian restaurant, also a candy store.
It's all part of the broader multi-billion dollar investment taking place there at RDU.
And we got a firsthand look at some of those new places.
The airport's president and CEO sharing the importance of the investments into the airport.
And we're starting to look at what we see in the community in terms of people moving in the community,
businesses moving the community so we know that demand is going to continue to be strong
and we see that from airlines airlines continue to add additional capacity and without
additional capacity it means I need gates I need hold rooms I need more food and beverage like today
and as you may know terminal two is also undergoing its own big expansion project work begins on
updating John Brantley Boulevard as well that's the big horseshoe-shaped road connecting terminal one
and terminal two right now for Johnson County School District breaking
ground today on the brand new Clayton High School. The school is getting rebuilt at the current
location. The new 278,000 square foot school will feature a three-story classroom wing and a two-story
arts and athletics wing. The Clayton Mayor, Jody McLeod, who's a grad of Clayton High, talking with
eyewitness news today about the history of the school. When I graduated from Clayton High School
in 1984, we had 100 people in our class. And today, you know, those senior classes can be
four, 500, easy. So the opportunity.
for growth and expansion and continuing that great comic legacy is awesome.
And the price tag for the new Clayton High is $130 million.
We're covering the Carolinas now and our first stop is in Charlotte where they've now
solved a 35 year old cold case. Yeah, Kim Thomas, who was a mother, was found dismembered
in her Cotswold home back in 1990. And today police arrested this man, Marion Gales.
He was a handyman who had been suspected of committing that crime for decades.
But detectives were able to finally connect him to the case after some new DNA testing just last year.
That testing found that Gales' genetic profile matched evidence recovered from Thomas' body and DNA on a rug, also aligned with his.
This case highlights the fact that our work never stops.
We always want to have timely resolution for all of our victims, for the survivors, for those in our community who are directly or indirectly.
by senseless crimes of violence.
But I believe that today's arrest
emphasizes our commitment to continue the work.
Gales was arrested today and is now charged with first-degree murder.
A really wild scene in Uptown, Charlotte,
involving a star player for the Hornets.
Video shows Lamello Balls, custom camouflage Hummer,
involved in a crash.
And eyewitnesses to say the 24-year-old was trying to make a left turn
onto a one-way street when he crashed into another car.
Balls Hummer there with a missing front wheel before getting towed away.
A South Carolina farmer has now been reunited with her beloved donkey after a community of
searchers came together to help her.
This after her donkey escaped and she did not know what to do.
Officials say that Jake the donkey usually roams on more than 20 acres of land there
in Abbeville County.
But due to some rain, he got caught up in the mud.
He slipped down a ravine and that's when his owner called for help.
First responders used a drone and some thermal imaging to find Jake, and he was found upside down, wedged on his back.
He was stuck, but he was rescued and has some injuries, but Jake is expected to be okay.
He was a little muddy.
Yeah, poor Jake needs a bath too, huh?
Big bath.
Yeah, and he's got a story to tell, doesn't me?
Yeah, I'm glad they got him.
Yeah.
So I'll head here on eyewitness News, President Trump is putting a spotlight on the American economy and also the prices were paying for so many things.
Today, President Trump is touting the economy while rallying for support in a crucial northwest Georgia district.
I'm Christiane-Cordero in Washington with the latest coming up.
That's coming up. Plus, renovation plans for the east wing of the White House are moving forward.
What we now know about the special meeting about that project that happened today.
And as we go to break, let's take a live look at the downtown Raleigh skyline.
A little cloudy right there.
We've had a beautiful sunny day.
71 degrees right now.
Dona is tracking some rain, a little bit of rain for some of us across the area.
He'll show us what's cooking on the radar and what we can expect through the evening coming right.
President Trump is on the road in Georgia today talking about the prices we pay for so many things and efforts to make things more affordable.
The president went to a steel factory and delivered remarks in a congressional district that's expected to be in the spotlight during this year's midterm elections with former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green seat up for grabs there.
ABC's Christiane Cordero has more from Washington now.
Today, President Trump visiting Northwest Georgia rallying for support in a crucial district as he touts the stock market reaching its latest benchmark.
Trump also brought up the stock market before leaving for Georgia during a meeting with dozens of countries about rebuilding Gaza.
Broke 50,000 on the Dow. They said that would take four years.
We broke 7,000 on the S&P. They said you couldn't do that within four years.
The administration has received some optimistic economic market.
in recent weeks with jobs and inflation reports that both beat expectations.
The latest inflation numbers are largely driven by energy prices dropping and rent hikes
appearing to slow down. Prices for food and travel are among the things that went up.
Employers, meanwhile, added 130,000 jobs in January the biggest gain in just over a year.
The January jobs report shattered expectations, highlighting how the president's pro-growth
economic agenda is fueling American prosperity.
