Right now at 4, a first alert day activated for the threat of storms and even some blooding. How long this stormy pattern is expected to last. This is ABC 11 eyewitness news. Right now at 4, keep an eye to the sky this afternoon. It is a first alert day for another round of isolated storms.

The first alert forecast team, not expecting to see as much activity as yesterday, but things are expected to ramp up again tomorrow. Thank you for joining us for the news at four. I'm Barbara Gibbs. And I'm Lauren Johnson. Amber is off the day. Here's a live look at conditions right now in both Raleigh and in Durham. Hazy, Tuesday, very humid and it's hot out there. A much different story from this time yesterday. But Cruz, we cannot let our guard down just yet. That is correct. So we are outlook to level two out of five for some of our counties this evening, but my focus is actually going to be on tomorrow. So that has my attention as it comes with a one-two punch.

It's not just a severe risk that level two, but it's also a level two risk for flooding widespread across central North Carolina. So today it is very quiet on the radar. We had some storms around in Samson County Southern Wayne a little earlier this afternoon. Right now, all 23 of the counties that we cover are quiet. So we have to look well back to our north to see any activity on the radar. storms are blowing up in central Virginia, even a few severe storms up there. And there's multiple other strong clusters of storms coming out of the Midwest. Tornado outbreak ongoing in states like Ohio for this evening. So we'll have to watch how those storms evolve to see if we get any of those right along the North Carolina-Virginia border.

Outside of that, walking the dog this evening, best to wait until after sunset when Tipters drop into the 80s because it's going to be hot the next several hours. In the overnight hours, can't rule out of storm, but most of us would just be cloudy and muggy. Tipters will be in the mid to upper 70s, Fayetteville, waking up to a tipter around 80 degrees. So it's going to be very warm and muggy to start, but tomorrow, tipters won't be as hot. So what we had today. So by noon, reaching 84 degrees. The first half of the day is dried tomorrow. During the afternoon and evening, that's when this severe risk comes into play.

So we will see the storm chance ramp up. That carries into tomorrow night, Thursday, and even Friday. We'll be talking more about that extended forecast coming up in just minutes. Back to you. You can check the first alert Doppler net and the seven day forecast anytime. Now at four o'clock, the cyclospora outbreak continues to grow. It does indeed. The state health officials are updating the case count today and reporting on those cases. That is because it's up 307 cases this week or from 307 cases last week. Wake County also seeing a significant jump in the cases reporting. 350 cases compared to just 295 cases yesterday. Duane Hoggard joins us now.

Duane, the Health Department says they're still trying to track down the source. Yeah, Barbara, and I'll even add, this is probably the most in-depth update that we've actually gotten from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services in its fight against cyclospirias. And the big question this afternoon, what's being done about it right now? The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services providing an update this afternoon for North Carolinians concerned about the cyclospryos's parasite plaguing the nation and what to do about it. So I'd say there's no guarantee, right, except for cooking. If you cook it, you'll kill it.

Currently, NCDHHS reporting 561 cases of the disease since May 1st and 254 newly reported cases in just the past week, with health experts unable to precisely identify what specifically is leading to the so-called outbreak. Our thought is that it's likely, maybe probably, probably, that there are multiple vehicles for cyclospora. It's not a single source or a single food product from a single company. And that's true in other states as well, including North Carolina, that we, there are certain foods that we believe are implicated based on the frequency with which they appear during our interviews, but it's likely more than one. Previously, health experts have flagged lettuce, cilantro, and parsley as being the main potential

culprits in people becoming sick. However, leaders saying today, our outbreak is not linked to the multi-state outbreak tied to lettuce, and lettuce is currently not among the foods being identified as a source of illness here in North Carolina. At this time, we are not conducting any testing of lettuce products related to the cyclosporiasis outbreak. As new cases populate here in the state, leaders continue to investigate its origin and strongly urge residents to wash their produce thoroughly to help prevent infection. recommend that people, you know, what you do what you can do, which is to wash these foods thoroughly, even if they say they've been pre-washed. Now, that's no guarantee that you'll eliminate any

cyclospora parasites that are on the food, but it's better than not doing it. And as new cases continue to populate, not just here in Wake County, but across the state, state health leaders, they're continuing to conduct interviews with infected persons to precisely identify where and even how they contracted cyclical spiroises. Live from the newsroom in downtown Raleigh, Duan Hogarth, ABC 11, I witness news. Wow, still such a mystery, Duane. Thank you for that report. Now here at 4 o'clock the Pentagon today, identifying a third U.S. service member killed over the weekend in the Middle East. Army Sergeant Michael Emmanuel Swinton of Fayetteville

was killed during a controlled drone detonation in Iraq. He's the second Fort Bragg soldier killed in the war with Iran. Yesterday, we told you about the first lieutenant, Tyler Feehan, who was among two soldiers killed during Iran's airstrike on a U.S. base in Jordan last week. Penelope Lopez joins us live from Fort Brad Penelope, so many heavy hearts, especially tonight in the Sandhills. That's right. This community is really having a tough couple of days.

Sergeant Sweet and was a father of two, a six-year-old and a four-year-old. He was also a husband to Mia. I spoke with his mother on Facebook, and she tells me that he was a deeply loved best a big brother, as well as that he deeply loved this country. Tonight, the military said it's investigating the death of Sergeant Michael Emmanuel Swinton, who died during a controlled detonation on Sunday at an airbase in northern Iraq. His wife posting to Facebook, I didn't think this would be the last time I saw you. I have no words.

According to the department, Swinton was enlisted in the Army in 2017 and was assigned to the 55th Air Defense Artillery. Regiment and the 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade. His loss comes at a particularly difficult time for the Fort Bragg community. Just yesterday, the Pentagon identified two other soldiers killed in an attack in Jordan, including First Lieutenant Tyler Feehan, who was also stationed at Fort Bragg. Swinton will get a bronze star, Purple Heart, and combat action badge, and will be promoted to Staff Sergeant. And we've been mentioning that he was a Fayetteville native Cumberland County schools have confirmed the three high schools he attended. He attended Algerby Wilkins High School, Jackbred, and Westover High. Still ahead, how this community is

coping after another loss. Reporting at Fort Bragg, I'm Penelope Lopez. I'm ABC 11, eyewitness news. Yeah, so many heavy hearts tonight. Penelope, thank you. Meantime Defense Secretary Pete Hegeseth is asking lawmakers for billions of dollars in funding partly to cover the cost of the Iran war. Among the things expected to be covered under the $87 billion budget request from the White House, $21 billion for munitions and roughly $17 billion for what the Pentagon calls operational costs. It does not include the costs associated with repairing the bases overseas hit by Iran, despite the new push. House Speaker Mike Johnson said that he believes the war's objective has been met and that it is time to, quote, wrap it up.

And you can look for the latest on the war with Iran coming up on World News tonight with David Mure that begins at 630. Now to some other local headlines in your speed feed first. Raleigh Police continued to investigate a crash that killed a 31-year-old woman this morning. Police say Taisha Parker was trying to cross South Saunders Street when she was hit by a car. The incident happened just after 4.30 this morning. Police say Parker, who was wearing dark clothing, was crossing in an area not well lit. The driver did stay at the scene and was not impaired at the time of the crash.

At this time, no charges have been filed. A grandfather, his son and two grandsons are safe after they were rescued from Harris. Lake in Apex today. The foursome was in this boat there that overturned leading to the water rescue. Thankfully, all four men knew how to swim. In fact, the two boys passed a water test just yesterday. There's no word on what caused that boat to capsize. New it four, two pigs, two turkeys, one rabbit, 22 chickens and one dog. That's how many animals were recovered as part of an animal cruelty investigation. This one happening in Chatham County, the sheriff's office responding to Herb Beaver's Road earlier this month after receiving a report that animals

had been left behind at the property without adequate care. 37-year-old Maggie Brady is now charged with two counts of felony animal cruelty and 26 misdemeanor counts of abandoning an animal. The animals recovered are now available for adoption. And a successful cleanup after a tree brought down power lines in Wake Forest. This was the scene earlier today on Jenkins Road. Part of that road was closed and the power was out for about 100 customers. As of a few hours ago, the road was reopened and that power was restored.

Good news there. That is your speed feed. Barbara, back to you. All right, Lauren, thank you. Well, now for several local cities and towns are under the state auditor's microscope over financial practices. Just last week, we got a 2,000-page report on the town of Kerry, detailing the former town manager's use of public money. And then just yesterday, a report on the town of Zebulon raised red flags about a missing contract and duplicate payments for services. And in Rocky Mount, there was confusion after utility customers thought they were double-billed, though they weren't. Elena Athens joins us now live from the state auditor's office in Raleigh.

Elena, you heard from people in Zebulin today. What are they saying about this recent report? And Barbara, we also just heard from the town of Zebulin. They issued a statement within the last 20 minutes saying that they take these findings seriously and have launched a dashboard for residents to track progress. I did today speak one-on-one with the state auditor. And he said they launched that investigation into Zebulin after receiving a tip on the tip line. There were weaknesses in contract administration as well as weaknesses in both the development

of the town budget and in monitoring of that particular budget. Some of North Carolina State auditor Dave Bollock's findings in his audit of the town of Zebulin include that the town did not investigate checks that were outstanding for more than a year as required by law. A town finance staff member's personal bank account was linked to the town's credit card account and there was an urgent reimbursement from the town of more than $16,000. And the interim town manager rented a four-bedroom Airbnb for less than a month and it caused Zebulon residents close to $7,000. The council approved the accommodations, described the lodging

as reasonable. No, I'm not. It's too much. Way too much. I think that's crazy. And what you're saying is like our money is funding that pretty much. So Zebulin is the latest. town to be audited ahead at five o'clock. What reports are showing for Carrie and Rocky and what the state auditor is saying about those cases, we'll have it coming up here on eyewitness news. The White County School Board is expected to get an update this evening on the emergency repairs to three different elementary schools. Yes, we've been reporting structural deficiencies have been found at Durant Road, Creech Road and Davis Drive Elementary Schools. Now we're learning about even more repairs. The state's largest school district needs to make to aging facilities. Bianca Homan is breaking down the $2 billion price tag.

We are weeks away from the start of school, and Wake County Schools is due to get an update on facilities today. Eyewitness News has learned about a new report saying it'll take $2 billion to renovate its facilities, five of which are over 100 years old. The district breaking down the repairs, saying $619 million is needed for HVAC, electrical and plumbing, another $400 million for interior renovations like flooring and painting, 304 million for exterior repairs like windows and other structural concerns. $275 million is needed to update safety codes. This includes fire alarms and security systems,

and the district's athletic facilities need about $152 million in renovations. We know three elementary schools recently were discovered to have structural issues, Durant Road, Preach Road, and Davis Drive Elementary. Durant Road's first day of school is on July 30th. Students will temporarily relocate to nearby Abbott's Creek Elementary while repairs are made.

The district says all these costs are needed. All these costs are needed over the next five years, and that amount doubles when you're looking at the district's 10-year timeline. In Raleigh, Bianca, Hohman, ABC 11, eyewitness news. Bianca, thank you. The Durham Public School Board of Education is also a meeting at 530. The board is called a special meeting. During the meeting, the board is expected to vote on the 2026-27 salary scales for certified and classified workers before moving into a closed session. And during that session, the board will consult with the district's attorney, consider.

confidentiality, student information, and confidential personnel matters. New at four, tourists lining up to visit the ancient Acropolis in Athens. Despite an incident earlier in the day, when a man stabbed and injured two people there, the assailant attacked a man and a woman, both Greek Americans, near the entrance of the Acropolis Museum. According to police, the woman suffered minor injuries to her leg while that man was more seriously hurt with wounds to the arm. A 60-year-old suspect has been taken into custody.

A tragic story out of Ohio, five adults are dead. being pulled from a river in Delaware County. The sheriff says it started when one person went into the water and started struggling. Others went in to help. They started struggling, too. Police say a child flagged down a driver who called 911. The incident is still under investigation. In the meantime, the sheriff is urging people to take water safety seriously, especially in the summertime. He says there's no shame in wearing a life jacket and it could save your life. Officials in Florida keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Bertha. It formed on Monday, spinning bands of heavy rain into the panhandle.

Bertha is the second name storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season. It's forecast to potentially hit parts of the Gulf Coast from Florida to Texas, bringing some coastal flooding, some really heavy rain and some high winds to that area as well. We all know this time of year can be really dangerous for those who live down in Florida, and especially in the Panhandle area. But Bertha is the name. It's always fascinating to me when we start hearing these names. I know.

And you know, a lot of people trying to travel, go to the beach. go the coast this time of year and it's just you know you got to watch and wait see what happens absolutely thankfully this hasn't been like a monstrous storm by any means but there still are impacts being felt in the Gulf so we've got a view of tropical storm bertha on the satellite right now and honestly it looks very underwhelming so it's kind of a skeleton of a storm most of the rain is on the south side and that's thanks to the shear that we have in the atmosphere so think of strong winds kind of blowing this apart at the mid levels of the atmosphere that said there have still been some bands making their way on shore and there are tropical storm force conditions in some of

those Gulf states. So the latest observation as of 2 p.m. Tropical storm Bertha had 60 mile per hour wind, so it's a strong tropical storm, even though it doesn't look that impressive, gusts up to 70 miles per hour and it's moving northwest at 5 miles per hour. So it's likely to make landfall, if not at least interact with the land in Louisiana. So down near New Orleans, those areas all under tropical storm watches and even tropical storm warnings extended into parts of coastal Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida penhandle. So this will likely weaken as it moves west and will actually play a factor in our weather locally over the next few days. So let's talk about it. We have an unsettled pattern due to a stalled front that we're expecting just to our

northwest. That's going to keep the pattern active tomorrow and into Friday and also into the first half of the weekend. There will be a severe risk, flat. Flooding will be possible through this stent and as this front interacts with moisture from Bertha that's what's going to enhance our rainfall totals. We also have a cool down due to all of the rain and storms that we're expecting to see and so that's going to be welcomed after we've dealt with many days in the 90s like what we're seeing this afternoon. There is a severe risk today the storm prediction center outlining our northern counties for a level two out of five. I'll

be honest I think most of the rest of the evening outside of an isolated storm is going to be pretty quiet. So we'll have to watch how storms have to our north. The radar is quiet at this point. If you're heading out this evening, you've got plenty of dry time. Temperatures will be in the 90s for the next few hours dropping into the 80s, and again, just an isolated storm chance. So let's talk about tomorrow, which is a more impressive chance of seeing rain and storms. We go through the rest of tonight, not much to see there. Mostly cloudy. Temperatures will be near 80 as you wake up tomorrow, so very warm and muggy. But through the afternoon, we see that boundary triggered this line of showers and storms. It'll be scattered in nature

first, but it should conglomerate kind of into a cluster of storms as it drops to the south. So the evening commute could be messy for some of our northern counties. As we go into tomorrow night and early Thursday, this is when the bulk of that rain is going to arrive. Likely a very messy commute on Thursday morning and then in the afternoon we'll see more rounds of rain and storms popping up as well. That could also continue into Friday. So this could be quite the rainmaker for our area. This is a look at the rainfall potential all the way through Friday morning.

And so anywhere from, I'd say, one to even four inches of rain as possible. Wherever the storm setup shop, that's going to determine who exactly gets the bullseye of those rain amounts. But again, the potential is there for flash flooding. So just in, I'm seeing this live on the air. We actually just had our risk for flooding tomorrow increased for our northern counties. And as we go into Thursday, that is increased down for areas south and east of Raleigh. So heads up for that potential. Here's a look at tomorrow's forecast.

Again, you have a lot of dry time, but late in the afternoon and evening. That's when storms start to pour in, and those will linger as we go into Thursday and Friday as well. So by Saturday, still expecting it to be unsettled temperatures in the low 80s then, so a nice break from the heat. Going into Sunday, that's the drier of the weekend days, near 90 degrees, and we'll heat up into next week. Another storm chance on Tuesday, but right now our eyes are on that first solar day for tomorrow and into Thursday. Back to you. All right, so we got to watch out for two first alert days and some mild weather and a great looking weekend. Okay, that's not bad.

Wake County Public Health is helping families get their children ready. for school. Today it starts with hosting another back to school vaccination clinic. It's happening at the Western Human Services Center in Kerry. The vaccine clinic runs from 530 to 730 this evening. Clinics offer vaccinations for students entering kindergarten, 7th and 12th grade. We are back now at the check of your top story. State health officials are reporting a sharp increase in cyclospora with hundreds of new cases identified over the past week. It comes as investigators continue searching for the source of that exact outbreak. A Fort Bragg soldier and Fable Native has been identified as a service member who was killed over the weekend. Sergeant Michael Emmanuel Swinton was killed in action during a controlled detonation Sunday in Iraq. The incident remains under investigation. And our first alert day continues for the threat of isolated storms tonight.

Even if you don't see severe weather, the threat persist into tomorrow. All right, meteorologist Cruz Medina is here tracking it all. We're in that pattern, aren't we, Cruz? Oh, absolutely. It continues. So I think today is actually the driest of the next four days. We're going to get a good amount of rain here, especially between what we see tomorrow and into Thursday. There is the potential for flooding there. Our threat for flooding has actually increased for our northern counties tomorrow and for the sand hills into.

Thursday, but even Friday and Saturday feature a rain chance. And again, this could bring widespread one to four inches of rain across our region. For today, it is very quiet in central North Carolina. We had a few storms scrape Samson and Wayne counties earlier this afternoon. Other than that, to our north, I'm watching these storms, this line of storms in central Virginia and how close those will get to our northern counties. That would really be the only severe risk for this evening. So aside from that, it's just going to be hot and humid for your evening dry. Definitely not a windows down kind of day, but crank your AC for sure. Tipters will drop into the 80s after we go past sundown.

And so that's the best chance to get outside this evening, walk your dog, things of that sort. Later tonight, tipters drop into the low or the mid 70s right near the North Carolina, Virginia border, upper 70s for the triangle and right around 80 degrees in Fayetteville. So it's going to be a very warm start to your day tomorrow and enjoy the first half of the day. It's going to be dry, mostly cloudy temperature is already reaching mid 80s by noon. but it's not going to be as hot as today, and that's because we have storms that will start to enter from the northwest during the late afternoon and evening. So Raleigh, hitting a high of 89 tomorrow, Fayetteville, much warmer at 96, only 79 in Roxborough because the storms get there first. We'll take a deeper dive into your extended forecast coming up in minutes. Back to you. All right, Cruz, thank you. And because of all that rain, we've been getting lately, it's been helping Falls Lake slowly rebound from the drought.

Yeah, the city of Raleigh reporting today. The water supply pool is now at 66%. That's 1% higher than last. week but every little bit counts the lake is still more than five feet below full pool chopper 11 flying over raleigh's water source today and you can still see there are some dry areas there where the water once covered raleigh's second water source lake benson is even lower down to just 53 percent full water restrictions remain in effect for raleigh water customers all right take a look at the durham water sources chopper 11 over lake mickey today and the little river reservoir despite the rain lake mickey is still 14 feet below full and the little river reservoir and the little river reservoirs The reservoir is 15 feet below full with Durham under stage two water restrictions. The city is considering tapping into a new water source, tier quarry. Akila Davis shows us a closer look today at the process needed to bring the quarry online. The outgoing drought is pushing Durham to look at every available water source. Now the city is preparing to tap into tier quarry. Right now what you're seeing is a temporary pumping setup as a response to the current drought conditions.

We're hoping to access waters contained within tier quarry. just to help with the daily demand that our residents require. The city of Durham has had a permanent connection to Tier Quarry since 2008. Because drought conditions are so dire, Dirk Cartner, assistant director of plant operations, maintenance, and engineering within the water department says we're in a position we've never been before and the need for water is critical now. He says the pump is set up to pool five million gallons a day and introduce it into Durham's water supply as early as to me.

tomorrow. The city of Durham says water use is down about 12%. But officials say we all still need to do our part to conserve. This comes as the city's water supply is only 39% full. That's good. We'd love to see more. And there's lots of the ways, you know, people can obviously follow stage two get restrictions, but there's lots of things people can do in addition to go above and beyond as well. I've just been trying to have my daughters just conserve the water as much as possible. My granddaughter can't play in the pool or the sprinkler. I limit it to just an hour and that's it. How Durham residents can keep conserving water during this drought ahead at 5.30 tips you can use.

Plus an update to the number of violations the city has issued. I'm in Durham. Akela Davis, ABC 11, eyewitness news. Akela, thank you. Now to some other local headlines in your speed feed first. The city of Raleigh is giving an update on the bus rapid transit that's coming to Newburn Avenue. As part of the project, trees and shrubs in the median of Newburn Avenue between Sunnybrook Road and pool road are now being yanked up and removed. The hope, though, is to create this area where crews can start that underground utility work between Pool and Raleigh Boulevard.

The removal will also make room for that new bus lane, but the city says there's no need to worry about that greenery that's being removed. They plan to replace them with trees and trubs that are native to North Carolina. The North Carolina ALE busting what they called an illegal alcohol business. The agency conducted a joint operation this weekend along Ellis Road. Authorities said the property was linked to a series of violent crimes, including homicides, shootings, aggravated assaults, thefts, and weapons violations. Agents seized three firearms, opioids, and liquor. In all, more than 30 arrests were made throughout Durham as part of that larger operation.

Fayetteville State University is celebrating a major donation, an anonymous trust, gifting the school's $6.5 million. That's the largest donation in the university's history. The money will be used to cover tuition, housing, and meals for students enrolled in the university's 30, 60, 90, free summer school program. FSU estimate students have avoided more than four million dollars in summer loan borrowing since that initiative started. That is the speed feed. Barbara, back to you. All right, Lauren, thank you. Well, new at four Wake County agencies joined forces today to show the dangers that hot cars pose to children and pets, especially during the summer months.

So far this year, 12 children across the country have died after being left in a hot car. Today's demonstration was held outside the Wake County Public Health Center in Raleigh, And you can see right there just how fast a car can heat up to dangerous temperatures. If you're out and about, you're at a grocery store, you see that a child has been left in a car, in a parking lot. Wherever, make sure to take action. Don't leave that child. Call 911 or see if you can find the parent, but do not leave that child because in minutes it can lead to a fatality. So important. We're told May through September are the months with the highest risk for hot car incidents. Every year, hundreds of pets as well die from heat exhaustion because they have been left in a parked car. As police investigate, loved ones say they're doing all they can to get the word out on Monday. Family and friends of Shaquana Harris handed out flyers. They were in a food line and parking lot. They were taping them up.

at bus stops and light poles. Police say Harris left Atrium Health Medical Center on July 2nd after visiting her newborn niece. Later that evening, she FaceTime friends from an acquaintance's home and hasn't been heard from since. Police say this is still an active investigation. A restaurant in Winston-Salem reopens today

after a portion of the ceiling collapsed on customers. Take a look at this video. This was the scene on Sunday at the Aragato Japanese Steak and Seafood House. Four people were hurt. The restaurant owner says an inspection show the drywall and insulation were improperly installed. The inspector confirmed that there's no structural damage to the building.

And here's something you don't see every day. The Goldsboro Fire Department responding to a crash yesterday involving a historic Model T. The crash happened on Walnut Street and George Street. Three people were taken to the hospital to be checked out. Wow. Well, a live look now. This is Cury Beach, the North Carolina Coast, where Disney Entertainment is bringing a new television pilot later this month. Filming is expected to take place from July 29th through August the 6th, pending final approval of a film permit by the Currie Beach Town Council.

And this is what we know about it. The project is called Saltwater. It's a TV series based on the 2006 movie Aquamarine. It will follow a teenage girl who returns to her late mother's coastal hometown after a storm and discovers a mysterious connection to the ocean. Primary filming locations include the Curie Beach Pier, Beach Strand, and the Seven Seas End. Disney is the parent company of ABC 11. All right, it is one of the most rare births in the world. One woman delivers four identical babies.

Why doctors are calling it a miracle. And proving age is just a number. We'll introduce you to a Navy veteran crossing all these things off his bucket list at 105 years old. Okay, it's the births of not one, not two, not even three, but four baby girls. And they're not just quadruplets. They are ultra rare, identical quadruplets. This is an amazing story and the odds are off the charts. Here's ABC's Santa Betam.

It's one of the rarest births in the world. A 34-year-old woman in Australia has delivered identical quadruplets. The family calling their newborn girls four precious miracles. It's amazing, to be honest, particularly the fact that this was spontaneously conceived. One fertilized egg that then splits not once, not twice, but three times into four different babies who then share a placenta that is just. incredible. The odds for such a birth, one in 15 million. The girls were naturally conceived, a surprise for mom, janitor and dad, Jortham, who already have four children. While it was considered a high-risk pregnancy, mom was able to deliver the babies at 28 weeks via C-section with no complications.

The girls named Emily Harriet, Catherine, and Alexa. Alexa named after the doctor who took such good care of mom during her pregnancy. It's just such a lovely present and such an honor. And yeah, I can't thank the family. And I'm very happy that they'll have a little Alexa in their family forevermore. And now reality setting in for the new parents. They launched a fundraising site saying while our hearts are overflowing with gratitude, the reality of caring for four newborns at once has brought challenges we never could have imagined. For one family in Palm Bay, it was a seven-foot alligator. Sierra Wynn says that her family's home security camera alerted her to the animal and just before her four in the morning last week. house and stuff. And it was just such a deep guttural hiss and growl and he just looked so mean. I thought he was going to come through the window. Can you imagine? Sierra says that she's not sure where it came from, but she wasted no time calling the police and wildlife officials to get that gator removed. Unbelievable. All right, it is the emotional homecoming caught on camera. And after 10 long days from the Australian Shepherd, finally back home where she belongs, the seven-year-old pup bolted from her home in California after she was frightened by fireworks on the 4th of July weekend launching a week and a half long adventure that left her family worried sick the family filed a missing dog report in the local sheriff's office picked up the trail I was able to get

some good information and was able to lead me out to person who located fig That's right. The dog's name is fig. Fig and wandered nearly, get this, 30 miles from home. Evening plans will be pretty hot, but the storm threat pretty low. Tipters will stay in the 80s through this evening as we go into the overnight hours, also expecting it to be dry in most areas. But tomorrow, things start to shift. And so we have a pretty significant flooding threat tomorrow. This has actually been enhanced. So we're now up to a level three for some of our northern counties that border Virginia tomorrow for flooding level two elsewhere. So let's get a timeline of tomorrow's flood threat. The morning hours are completely dry. Early afternoon is dry as well. This rain comes in late in the afternoon and evening. and we just continue to see rounds in the overnight hours.

This will carry into Thursday as well and possibly linger into Friday. So this is a very long stretch that we're going to go through starting tomorrow of very wet weather. So several inches of rain possible. Tippedures tomorrow will make it into the mid to upper 80s. So it won't be as hot as today. But that's to be as expected, I should say, of course, with those rounds of rain coming in late in the evening. By the time we get into this weekend, still unsettled to start. We'll dry out by Sunday and we'll carry those.
