Straight ahead here and I would just use at 4 o'clock.
It is the first day of early voting.
And as we look ahead to election day,
we're hearing from one man shocked to learn
he was being accused of illegally voting
in a previous election.
He said, I have a felony warrant for you.
And I said, OK, what is the grounds?
The 10 people now facing federal charges,
the jail time they could face if convicted.
Breaking new details in the murder of a beloved Franklin
County woman, the memory shared from the victim's mother
as a distant family member is arrested in this case.
Plus, Chopper 11 flying right now live over the state fair.
Gates are open as families indulge in food, rides, and games.
And I just love it. I love the food, everything.
From cotton candy to candy apples, funnel cakes, and much more.
We'll tell you everything you need to know before you go.
I would just use it for starts now.
Right now, live coverage from your local newsleader,
keeping you connected to your community.
and your first alert forecast.
Here's what's happening where you live.
This is ABC 11, I Witness News.
Right now in I'm going to season 4, we're calling it Hot Tober.
The triangle is seeing near record heat two days in a row,
but get ready for the roller coaster weather
because temperatures are expected to take a dip over the weekend.
I like it, Hot Tober.
Speaking of roller coasters, the state fair is officially underway.
Chopper 11 flying right now over the fairgrounds
as crowds of people make their way through for all that excitement on the first day.
Ardalen a Athens is somewhere in the crowd there on the ground and all the fun.
She's going to join us later in the show for a look at day one on a Friday Eve.
Thanks for joining us here Friday.
I'm Amber Rupenta.
And I'm Barbara Gibbs.
Hot and humid.
Those are the two words to describe what it feels like outside today.
Not going to say that way for long.
Thank goodness.
Temperatures are expected to drop this weekend.
Barbara loves the fall weather.
She does.
She does.
We're getting cheated a little bit.
A little bit.
It feels like Jews.
Yeah.
Listen, you're going to love next week when you see it.
Yeah, it's going to be fantastic.
But yeah, the difference today.
Yeah, a record high hit 89 degrees.
Yesterday we topped out at 90, but you'd notice it feels hotter today.
Thanks in part to definitely talking about the humidity in the air.
It's really up there for the most part.
88, the old record set back in 1985.
So definitely hot for sure.
Now there's a big change coming and impressive front's going to blast on.
through and that is really going to bring some drier air to the region. You're going to notice that in a big way.
And matter of fact, the driest of air is going to come in here as we get into Sunday. There's potential the dew points could fall down to the upper 20s. That's incredibly dry. We need rain and we're not looking too good after that August and September. Two of the driest months we've had in this drought and right now we're close to normal but reservoir levels are so far below full pool. We need big time soaking rain and we've got rain coming but it's not the type that's going to help out much.
likely going to be under a quarter inch in most areas.
Some of the models coming in at a few hundreds of an inch,
that you're on the GFS around a third of an inch.
So likely going to get some rain.
But again, this isn't going to help us that much.
89 degrees of North Hills right now feels like 91.
The dew points in the mid-60s.
That dew points come down just a little bit.
There's actually a front that moved in.
We talked about this yesterday.
So cooler up north,
hotter to the south where that front is,
but it's going to actually go back to the north,
and we're going to be quite warm again tomorrow.
Taking the pop out for a while.
walk this evening. Numbers falling down to 77 by 8 o'clock. Overall should be a pretty decent
evening but not feeling like October. But next week, a really nice stretch of weather coming our way.
We'll show you that coming up in the seven-day forecast. All right, something to look forward to,
Steve, thank you. Breaking right now at four, two people now charged in a double homicide in Franklin
County. According to the sheriff's office, Demetrius Brody is charged in the killings of
Stephon Perry and Keith Sneed over the weekend. Court documents show Dahlane Singletary is charged with
accessory after the fact. We've reached out to the sheriff's office for more information about
the killings and we'll bring that to you as soon as we get it. Also in this hour, we're also learning
of a second arrest in the death of a Franklin County mother of two, Rashika Kruudup.
According to family members, a distant cousin is now charged with accessory after the fact
and her death. Cindy Bay will have more on how community members are remembering Krotup coming up
at 430. In your voice, your vote, it is the first day of early voting here in North Carolina.
And as we look ahead to the midterm election, 10 North Carolinians are now facing federal charges.
All but one of them are accused of illegally voting in the 2024 election.
John Dowding is joining us live.
He's outside the federal courthouse in Raleigh.
So John, several of them faced a judge earlier today.
What can you tell us?
Yeah, so Barbara and Amber, one of the, all eight, as you said, all 10 of them faced a judge in the courthouse earlier this morning.
All of them face, oh, actually, I should correct myself here.
Eight of them faced a judge.
All of them are facing one.
count of falsely claiming citizenship to vote in the 2024 election. Now, again, we were waiting
outside and actually spoke with some of those defendants as they came out of the courthouse
earlier today. One of them telling us he didn't even know he wasn't a citizen until the federal
agents showed up with a warrant. He said, I have a felony warrant for you. And I said,
okay, what is the grounds? Accusations of voter fraud in the 2024 election, 10 North Carolinians
facing federal felony charges after federal investigators say they lied about their citizenship
and say some cast a ballot in the 2024 election. For Robert Corbett, he says he didn't realize
he was doing anything wrong. I was born in Canada. I did not find out that I was adopted until I
was 51 years old. And my understanding was that my mother was my mother,
was American. Federal investigators say nine of the defendants are lawful permanent residents and say
one is identified as an undocumented individual, with some from Europe, the Caribbean, and South America.
All 10 face one felony charge of falsely claiming citizenship to vote.
Nine of them face an additional charge of voting by alien.
Federal investigators say the charges all stem from ballots cast in the 2024 general election,
but also say some voted as far back as the 2000 general election.
This is not a minor administrative glitch or a one-off.
Several of these defendants have voted in many elections.
Now, if they are convicted on that felony charge,
they could all face at least five,
maximum five years in federal prison.
Now, we also heard from another one of those defendants
after he left the courthouse hear from him coming up at five
and how investigators say they were able to identify
these 10 individuals named in that indictment.
Live here in downtown Raleigh, I'm John Downing.
ABC 11, High Witness News.
John, thank you.
Right now, voters across the state making their voices heard at the polls, including right here in the triangle,
are cameras visiting polling locations in both Raleigh and Durham today as people lined up to cast their early ballots.
Governor Stein and First Lady Anastine visited Chavez Community Center to cast their ballots.
The governor encouraging others to do the same while speaking about the importance of this election cycle.
How the people vote in this election will shape what government they have.
So if you like the government, then go and vote for it.
If you want to change, come and get your voice heard.
Former governor and U.S. Senate Democrat candidate Roy Cooper also cast his vote today in Raleigh.
His opponent, former RNZ Chairman Michael Watley, said to vote in Gastonia tomorrow.
In the Senate race is at the top of the ticket this year.
There are also elections for U.S. House, the state legislature, local races, and constitutional amendments on the ballot as well.
I would just say spoke with voters in Durham about why it was important for them to cast their ballots early.
I think the future of our democracy is important and it's important for all of our voices to be heard.
Key issues to me is not raising taxes so much and income taxes, property taxes and stuff and getting the right person in place to help this economy right now with all what's going on.
I mean, high prices of food and gas.
Early voting is the most popular form of voting in the state with more than half of all votes cast during the past five general elections occurring during this period.
Coming up here at 5 o'clock, Michael Perchick is speaking with students about the importance of young people participating in the election process.
And as early voting gets underway, here are some important dates to keep in mind.
October the 20th is the last day to request an absentee ballot.
November 3rd, exactly 19 days from now. Polls will be open from 6.30 in the morning until 7.30 in the evening that day.
All new at 4. A forensic scientist back on the stand as testimony continues in the trial of the murder of a UNC Chapel Hill student faith hedge pet.
The focus back on evidence collected in the case.
Akela Davis joins us now live from the Durham County Courthouse.
Akela, good afternoon to you. More arguments the defense making today, right?
That's right, Barbara. Good afternoon to you.
Well, attorneys for Miguel Taguerro Aliberas began cross-examining the forensic scientist that has been on the stand all day today, focusing on how they believe evidence in this case was mish.
So Aaron Ermish, that's her name, that's the forensic scientist that's been on the stand all day with NC State Crime Lab.
Her job is to analyze items of evidence such as blood, semen, and saliva.
So she first examined evidence in the Faith Hedgepeth case in 2012.
But in 2021, she reexamined swabs of items collected from the crime scene using updated DNA testing.
She testified that the McCarty rum bottle, the blue reasoning wine bottle, the white bag, Faf's boxer shorts,
and her body included a DNA profile from Miguel Sargiero Alvarez.
On cross-examination, the defense asked why Ermish didn't swab a piece of paper found between Faye's cell phone and its case,
trying to raise doubt about the DNA that was found.
piece of paper there
that I guess was in between the
cell phone case and the cell phone
itself. Did you take
any swabbing from that?
No, I did not.
Either side of that piece
of paper. No.
Any reason why?
My
primary purpose for examining this
item was the cell phone
and not
the piece of paper that was contained with the
cell phone. You didn't want to know.
whose biological material might be on a note or a piece of paper with a cell phone that's got
blood on it. As far as the piece of paper itself, that was included with the phone,
but my understanding was the phone was the item that needed to be analyzed.
So we are stepping back inside the courthouse. I'll have more ahead on eyewitness news at 5.
I'll see you then. Reporting live in Durham, Akela Davis, ABC 11, eyewitness news.
It just continues to be compelling every day.
Akela, we look forward to your next report. Thank you.
New at four, a major road project coming to the triangle.
The NCDOT announcing a $21 million pavement rehabilitation project.
It will upgrade a 9.4-mile section of I-40 in Durham and Wake counties between east of I-885 and Wade Avenue.
The project is expected to take two years with construction,
to begin later this fall. The DOT says the project is designed to strengthen the road
and extend its service life beyond a typical resurfacing project. Still ahead here at 4 o'clock,
a major economic boost for the NCDOT. The U.S. Department of Transportation investing millions
of dollars in a passenger rail project that would connect Raleigh to Richmond. Plus the
2026 state fair is officially underway. We'll take you there next for a look at new attractions
that you might see out there at the fairgrounds this year.
And it is going to be warm for the next couple days around here.
Let's say it's hot.
Yeah, temperature right now, 89 degrees.
Two points are off.
I mean, it feels like early June out there.
A lot of cars out there right now on I-40 and Harrison.
Not moving along pretty good there overall.
It looks like it's going to be a pretty warm evening.
If you have plans to get out.
Another warm one tomorrow.
Then big changes for the weekend.
More on that coming up.
But as we head to break, here's your traffic hotspots.

Eye witness news.
We are local news weeknights four to six 30 and 11.
Right now four major news for the S-Line Passenger Project in Raleigh.
The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Railroad Administration announced today that it's giving the NCDOT $550 million in federal funding toward the project.
Yeah, the S-Line will use an existing freight rail line to grow passenger rail services between Richmond and Raleigh.
It is expected to save travelers 90 minutes, federal and state officials toward the construction that's happening right now on New Hope Church and Durant Roads.
The project represents a real step forward for rail infrastructure in the state.
The S-line is going to connect more North Killianians to more transportation options within the state and beyond so they can get to school, go to work, or take a trip.
It will create faster, more frequent, and more reliable passenger service that is expected
to reduce the time from Raleigh to Richmond by more than one hour.
It will also give people an energy-efficient alternative to driving or flying, reducing
both climate and air pollution.
Officials say the work will take about three years to complete.
New at 4, North Carolina Central University is trying to make it easier for community college
students to get bachelor's degrees, a signing ceremony held at the
Ralee Convention Center for a program called Eagle Connect. It is a partnership with eight
community colleges in North Carolina to advance transfer opportunities to NC Central. The community
colleges hope to give opportunities to students in rural areas. Eagle Connect students get guaranteed
admission to NC Central, a waived $50 application fee, and additional support. All right, the wait
is over. The 2026 North Carolina State Fair officially underway. All your favorite rides, some foods,
new and old and attractions are ready for you to enjoy. It's here. Elena Athens is in the middle of
all that fun. She joins us now live. All right, at noon, you had the kettle corn. What have you
dug up now, Elena? Well, of course I'm trying things. I mean, I'm out here working technically.
We're starting to see more people come out. So the crowds are certainly building for opening
night of the North Carolina State Fair. If we can, let's give you another look, a bird's eye view
from Chopper 11th. You can get an idea how the crowds,
are gathering here on the North Carolina State Fairground.
So there are 80 new food items at the fair this year,
and I joined those who are indulging.
That's why I came.
And I just love it.
I love the food, everything.
It's opening day of the North Carolina State Fair.
Folks from all over the state have traveled to Raleigh to play games,
ride the rides, hear live music, and eat all sorts of different fair food.
The yard milkshake bar is a newbie this year and set up inside the new,
$25 million food hall, which opened doors today.
The yard was featured on Shark Tank in 2019,
and being that calories don't count during the state fair,
I'm having one.
Oh, you are. Let's go.
Let's go.
I had to sample a couple of things.
What is that?
This is the Raleigh Food Trap.
Are you out of your mind?
The Raleigh Food Trap featuring red velvet ice cream and red velvet cheesecake.
Yeah!
Yeah!
Let's go!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I also tried the strawberry and cream cheesecake,
cheesecake shake, complete with a vanilla iced jar rolled in gram crackers.
This one is good.
The main store is located inside Seaboard Station.
At our shop, we have like over 15 different ones.
So we only brought six to the fair because it's a lot.
Okay, Amber, Barbara, I was such a situation coming out of that tasting.
I had ice cream on my face.
It was like a problem, but very good because there was ice cream chunks in that ice cream.
It was super good.
For the vendors this year, there are some changes to stay fair.
They are charging 15%.
It's caused some people to not want to be a part of the state fair this year, so we'll
have more on that coming up ahead at 5 o'clock.
But as far as those shakes, that bowl goes, I mean, it was worth the calories.
But I've done some laps around the state fair.
Yes, you have.
I tried to make up for it.
They look amazing.
I don't know how you can turn it down.
I mean, sugar high.
Unbelievable.
Loading.
I think we need to do a segment with you every day on what new food you try to try to
the fifth. We'll see how that goes.
Woo!
All right. Elena, thank you so much.
She's so fun to watch. She is so, because there's a situation.
I had a situation coming out of that.
Coming out of that.
Whip cream and cheesecake and all that.
It looked good, though.
Not a bad assignment.
Yeah, honestly.
She goes, I'm working.
Right. Yeah. Yeah.
All right.
Hot again, humid out there.
I had another record high today.
We'll probably get another record for it tomorrow.
We're going 88 tomorrow.
And the record tomorrow's like 86.
So likely going to get there.
And then some big changes are coming our way.
A few little fair weather clouds out there right now.
We'll be partly cloudy through the rest of the afternoon.
More clouds up in Virginia.
We'll show you that coming up.
Shorts and teas this evening.
If you're heading out to the state fair, it'll be pretty nice out there.
Much cooler weekend, though.
It'll be wet for the first half.
And then Sunday back to sunshine, but still a chilly breeze.
And a pleasant stretch as we go into next week.
Make some plans.
Maybe the tea times.
It's going to be very nice.
The heat we're having now will get replaced by this sharp trough that's going to move in,
and that'll really cool the temperature down.
That 62 could be earlier in the day.
The number falls with the chilly breeze, and we'll get some rain around,
and then we'll get back to the upper 60s on Monday and low 70s, Tuesday, Wednesday,
and likely in the Thursday.
And it's about time we got some below average temperatures.
We've done it seven times in the last month, and that's it.
So we're going to have a stretch of some cooler weather.
There's the front we talked about yesterday, backing in from the north and the east.
It's going to retreat again, but you see all the clouds up in Virginia.
We just have a few of them here, but you can see a lot of those clouds as you look off to the north.
Here's the rain.
Again, spotty light showers, late evening hours.
High school football should be okay.
And then as we get into Saturday, most of the rain is going to be in the first half of the day.
And it doesn't look like a lot.
I would say upwards of a quarter, maybe a few areas could squeeze out a half inch of rain.
As we look at all the models, some of them are not showing hardly anything at all.
the euro and the GFS for about a third of an inch of rain out at RDU.
Right now we look at North Hills, 89, and that's, again, for a high for the day.
Feels like 91, bit of heat index out there.
We usually don't talk about a heat index in mid-October.
There's where the frontal boundary is, cooler north and hotter to the south, with a lot of
areas right around that 90-degree mark, and again, two points are elevated a lot higher than
this time yesterday.
So out of the fair tonight, we'll get down to around 75 by 9 o'clock, nice and clear out there.
shorts and t-shirts will be just fine through the evening. Front's going to settle on by.
There's the chilly showers will get on Saturday. Watch what happens. This low could actually
strengthen a bit off the coast and the difference between that high and low is going to ensure
that northeasterly breeze will be with us and that'll keep things cool. And if you believe the
Euro and the UK and the Canadian as well, that low could actually strengthen and we could get
some overwash on Highway 12, something we're going to have to watch as we head into next week.
Numbers tonight in the 60s should be in the 40s to near 50s.
So as we look to your day tomorrow, another record high.
Numbers are going to be in the high 80s, again, well above the normal.
There's the showers on Saturday.
A brisk breeze coming in from the north.
Temperatures falling.
Chilly start on Sunday.
Outlying areas, guys, will be on the 30s, even mid-30s and maybe some frost in the next week.
Look at that gorgeous stretch of weather.
All right.
Sounds great.
What we're waiting for?
Steve, thank you.
Coming up next, Walmart.
Walmart is working to help customers stay healthy.
The retailer is hosting a community wellness day.
We'll tell you about the free screenings that shoppers can get right inside the store.
And this year, ABC 11 is marking 40 years of our annual food drive.
When we come back, we're hearing from some of the people who help make it all happen.
And a reminder, you can find eyewitness news live on ABC 11, Disney Plus, and everywhere you stream.
It's time now for some news you can use this Thursday.
Walmart stores across Raleigh and Durham are hosting a free community.
Community Wellness Day this weekend. Walmart pharmacies are offering free preventative health
services and resources to customers. There will be free screenings for things like blood pressure,
cholesterol and vision. They'll also be offering flu shots as well as COVID-19, HPV and pneumonia
vaccines. It's happening this Saturday from 10 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon.
And more than 30,000 Toyota vehicles have been recalled due to a software issue that could cause
the car to shut down. The recall affects the 2026 Toyota Rav4 plug-in.
hybrid. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the software issue could cause the
hybrid system to reduce power or even shut down when driven at higher speeds. And as a result,
the issue could increase the risk of a crash. Toyota dealers will update the software for free.
Owners will be notified by early December. Delta Airlines is upgrading the flying experience
for passengers in its Delta One class. They're getting new food options and cocktails. And when it's
time for bed. Passengers will get a new pillow in addition to slippers, eye masks, and
enhanced mattress pads. Delta One is the airline's highest class and is primarily available
only on long haul international flights. That's news you can use. Barbara, over to you.
All right, Amber, thank you. All New It for Franklin County deputies make a second arrest in the
murder of a beloved mother. What we're now learning about the man's connection to Roshika Krodo.
As community members remember her this afternoon. We are local news. ABC 11 eyewitness news.
continues now. New this afternoon community members in Franklinton and beyond are
remembering a beloved daycare teacher. Rasheka Krodo. A mother of two,
teacher was killed at her home in Franklinton during a break-in. She was a teacher at
the Kitty Academy of Wake Forest where they say she cared for infants. New today,
we've learned of a second arrest in this case. We know 35-year-old Devin Wally has been
charged with first-degree murder. Court documents show Tyrone Crudup is also charged with
accessory after the fact family members tell us he is a distant cousin of the victim
Cindy Bayes you're wanting us live she's in Franklin County this afternoon so Cindy I know that
you spoke with Rashika's mother tell us how she's being remembered yeah just a sad story
Amber we spoke with the crude family who remembers Rashika as a devoted mother a loving
teacher who made a lasting impact on the children she cared for
Family is grieving and a community is mourning the loss of Rashika Kruyp, who was killed Monday in Franklin County.
The Kitty Academy of Wake Forest says Krutup cared for infants and filled her classroom with a serene, joyful light.
She was very loving. She loved people. She loved kids. Definitely kids. She loved kids.
Her family describes her as sweet, ambitious, and loyal. Her mother says the loss is still difficult to process.
It's hard. It's real hard going through this situation.
Devin Whaley is charged in connection with Crudup's death.
Court documents allege he broke into her home with the intent to terrorize and injure her.
Whaley made his first court appearance Tuesday and is being held without bond.
The circumstances leading up to Crudip's death remain unclear.
Now the family tells us Crudip was in a relationship with Whaley,
who has a lengthy criminal history,
according to the Franklin County Sheriff.
ABC 11 has reached out to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office,
but what we're learning from court documents
and what comes next is ahead on eyewitness news at 530.
In Lewisburg, Cindy Bay, ABC 11, IWitness News.
Very heartbreaking for the family.
Cindy, we'll see you in an hour with more.
Thank you.
Having today, Wake County is stepping up
in the fight against youth violence
as safety concerns grow.
Tonight, the county's Juvenile Crime Prevention Council
wants to hear from you.
Leaders are asking about the needs, challenges, and risks facing young people and where more resources could make a difference.
The listening session runs from 6 to 8 at the Southeast Raleigh YMCA.
It comes just days after Raleigh held its own session, hearing directly from teens as the city weighs of possible youth curfew to curb the violence.
Also happening today, you can learn more about plans to expand bus service in Wake County.
There will be an open house on the southern corridor of the bus rapid transit line connecting downtown Raleigh to Garner Station.
Boulevard. Input will be collected from six to seven this evening at Walnut Creek Wetland Park.
Safety concerns at Durham Schools are front and center tonight. Superintendent Anthony Lewis is hosting
a town hall with district security and law enforcement from the county right by his side. Families
can bring their questions from 6 to 730 at Riverside High School. Well now back to our
state fair coverage. All the fun kicking off today and as you head out to the fair if you plan to go,
you may be concerned about the traffic. Yeah, it's really popular, but there's some good news. There are
to get to the fair.
Anna Rivera shows us where to park
and how to get there by bus.
So we've got 11 days to get to the fair.
If you do decide to go to the fair,
you want to have a plan ahead of time
as far as where you want to park
and how you're going to get there.
So these are the free parking options
that will be provided by the fair.
We've got the dogwood lot.
It's at the corner of Edwards Mill Road
and Reedy Creek Road.
This is going to drop you off at Gate 8
and Trinity Road if you decide to park there.
We also have another lot.
This one is the car
lot and this is on NC 54 and Edwards Mill Road. This shuttle is going to drop you off at
Gate 7. That's a youth center drive. Now, if you do want to do more of a park and ride situation
and get there by bus, Go Raleigh is offering some free buses. They'll leave from the Dix Park
Flowerfield, Lot A, that's on Hunt Drive. And they are going every 30 minutes, starting at 8.30
until the close of the fair. It's $5 round trip for most people. They do have discounts for
younger people, older people. So if you are looking for all of that information, it is on the
fair website. Go Durham, they also have options. You park at 515 West Pedigrew Street. They have hourly
service from 8 a.m. until the close of the fair. And that is free. All right, Anna, thank you.
The ABC 11 Together Food Drive celebrating 40 years this year. And right now, more than 6007,000
children, adults and seniors in Central and Eastern North Carolina face food uncertainty,
where their next meal will come from.
In the southeastern region alone,
one in six people face hunger,
including one and four children.
We've partnered with local companies
to get food to people in need.
That includes Blue Cross and Blue Shield
of North Carolina.
And right now, with the affordability challenges,
with the health challenges
that are facing our state,
we are all in on access to healthy food
and making sure that those we serve have that.
And so having partnerships
with organizations like WTVD,
with the Carolina Hurricanes, with the Food Bank, with Charlotte Motor Speedway.
We are all over the state is a way that we can connect with those that we serve,
but also all North Carolinians.
That's important to us, and you're going to continue to see us showing up and doing that.
The 40th annual ABC 11 Together Food Drive kicks off November the 18th.
Our goal this year is to raise 1.4 million meals.
Next year at 4 o'clock, three of the Charlotte-Beklenburg Police Department officers
accused of sharing racist texts have now resigned.
up after the break new reaction from the Charlotte Police Chief Estella Patterson, what she had to say about the internal investigation.
And South Carolina police are sharing the 911 call in the overdose death of Hayden Pamcyer revealing the attempt to save her life.
Covering the Carolinas now three of six Charlotte Mecklenburg police officers accused of sharing racist text messages have resigned.
Chief Estella Patterson announced the news this morning.
The texts go back several years, but the department didn't know about them until the FBI finished its investigation.
into a former officer who allegedly misused the department's flock camera system.
That was when the Internal Affairs investigation discovered the texts.
Chief Patterson shared her support for terminating the remaining three officers.
