I have confirmed with Durham police this morning that a man was shot inside this nightclub here off of guest road. This is where police have focused their efforts here. this morning. You can see there are still a couple of police cars still here, but mostly they have cleared the scene. I'm told this came in around 1.30 this morning overnight. And again, they have just cleared the scene within the last half hour. So that took several hours for them to investigate.
Starting point is 00:01:43 As far as suspects, I did ask, there's nobody in custody. This is still under investigation. Tamara thank you let's take a live look outside on your Monday morning a view of downtown Raleigh things cooling off after a pretty warm weekend but they will warm back up soon time for a first check of weather and traffic together meteorologist Steve Stewart in for Quailan hey there Joel yeah absolutely
Starting point is 00:02:14 gonna be a big change today all the way down to close to 50 a lot of clouds around most of us are probably gonna stay dry but there could be some spotty showers and the best best from the triangle northward later today and through the evening hours as well little breezy today as well gonna make it feel even cool 82 and 11 are the records on this date, but these 80s, yeah, they're coming later this week. We're going to see some really warm air. If you get a shower today, I mean, we're talking just a few hundredths of an inch. This is really going to be light if you get any rain at all, so don't expect much.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Out and about this morning, though, should be dry. Temperatures are going to be in the 40s, getting up to 48 midday. Clouds hanged off all day today and pretty much through the night as well. Spotty little showers as we get afternoon into the evening, mainly off to our north. Some of that could make it all the way into the triangle, though, at around 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning. And then the clouds stay with us pretty much most of the day tomorrow with some breaks in the clouds late in the day. 41 into North Hills right now, cloudy with a breeze at 10 miles an hour makes a feel even cooler out there. 37 Lewisburg, 41 into Burlington and Southern Pines currently at 43 degrees.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Later on this evening, there you see the numbers falling down to the low 40s. Small chance at an evening shower. Again, it would be very light. Here comes a warm. I hope you get a chance to make some plans. later this week. We'll talk more about that in a few minutes, Anna. Okay, Steve, right now, things looking really good on the roads. It's really quiet. Our crash count sitting at zero, no congestion you need to worry about. Let's take a live look outside of the DOT cameras. This is
Starting point is 00:03:38 40 in Wade Avenue. You can see traffic is filling in in both directions, but overall, not too bad out there. And right now, the world is on high alert following the U.S.-Israeli military attack in Iran. Yeah, President Trump now warning the joint attack inside Iran could last for weeks. Here's what we know. More missiles were intercepted in Kuwait following the Iranian attack that killed three U.S. service members and left five seriously injured. We know those soldiers were part of a logistics unit in Kuwait. Israel has launched multiple strikes on Lebanon's capital of Beirut. In Israel, nine people were killed after a missile strike outside Jerusalem. Meanwhile, President Frum telling ABC News the attack was so successful, it knocked out most of the candidates to lead Iran.
Starting point is 00:04:21 A number of cities across the country, including New York, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Philadelphia are increasing security in response to the military airstrikes on Iran. And back here at home, the conflict in the Middle East is having a direct impact on military bases stateside. All of our local military installations implementing beefed up security at all entry gates until further notice. Bianca Holman tracking the changes for us from the Raleigh eyewitness News Center. And Bianca, what types of measures are we seeing now in place? So at all intricates, there will be 100% ID checks. There will also be random vehicle inspections. And also that trusted traveler program will be suspended during this conflict in Iran.
Starting point is 00:05:01 And so also over the weekend we were able to check in with lawmakers and see what they are thinking and how they're reacting to this conflict over in Iran. Some believe the joint attack on Iran could play a major role in lessening the influence of countries such as Russia and China globally. But they also add the operation cannot become pro-glonged. And there are other lawmakers that are raising questions about how this could have happened and the immediate aftermath. This is something that needed to happen. I was surprised that it hasn't happened before. I tried not to think about that. If you get caught thinking about your home life and your family, it's easy to make mistakes.
Starting point is 00:05:43 But for being in for so many years and then sitting back and watching my son get deployed, was a real eye-opener. And also Valerie Fushi, she also weighed in saying that Congress should have been considered and also, so there was also comments from her as well. So the US and Israeli strikes on Iran are expected to have an impact on oil prices and oil futures surge of the first trade
Starting point is 00:06:10 since the attacks began over the weekend. So US crude oil rose about $8 a barrel and $12 around to about $75 a barrel. So, say that gas prices could rise more than 25 cents a gallon because of the Middle East conflict. And of course statewide we're going to of course potentially have impacts there. A gallon of gas right now 275 that's according to AAA. However, Wake County the average gas price right now is $2.82. It could top $3 that we want to add
Starting point is 00:06:40 that last year the average gas price was $2.78. So something that we're going to continue to watch in the coming days. Tamara, excuse me, Bianca, thank you. Thank you. We're told he was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. So far, there's no word on a suspect.

On Sunday, an early morning fire impacted helping hand missions, office, and storage facility.

The battalion chief says dozens of firefighters responded to that scene and eventually put that fire out. There were no injuries but their operations have taken a major hit. Sylvia Wiggins, the CEO and founder of Helping Hand Mission, says staff had recently been at that site preparing boxed items for families in need. Despite the setback, Wiggins says the organization's mission will continue. We would never let this go. This is bigger than me. than a bill in the whole program.

It's like January today.
Starting point is 00:14:52 There could be a few spotty showers, especially in our night. Northern counties still cloudy tomorrow, but we go back to the low 60s, actually a little bit above average. And then here we go. Hyes will be in the 70s and even 80s. It's going to feel like May, even late May standards where we get to some low 80s. Look at this stretch of weather that's coming our way. It's going to be well above average and really low rain chances during that time period as well. Clouds are moving in. Now you look upstream. You see the showers. Wintery weather is going to be probably up around interstate 70 and beyond, maybe up around interstate 80. So we don't have to worry about anything like that. There's a lot of clouds today when the kids come home from school around the triangle about 50 degrees cooler in our northern counties. A spotty showers possible later today and overnight.
Starting point is 00:15:34 And I stress isolated doesn't look like much at all and mainly cloudy and still rather cool to start the day tomorrow. If you get rain, all the models are suggesting like nothing to maybe just a couple hundreds of an inch. And that's about it. Outside right now, 41 degrees and cloudy that northeast breeze though makes a feel like the mid-30s. Now it is in the mid 30s up in our northern counties, 43 in the Smithfield and Fayetteville, Southern Pines as well, and Clinton currently at 45. Evening planter if you can't take a walk, I can't rule out a spotty shower this evening, but otherwise cloudy skies and temperatures getting down to the low 40s a little bit later on. As we look to our Tuesday, cloudy low 60s, some sun peeking in late in the day right before sunset. And then a sun cloud mix will be Wednesday with us and feeling like late April with those temperatures in the mid-scent.
Starting point is 00:16:22 and more warmth upstream. That's going to be spreading to the East Coast and everyone's going to be feeling it too. The big thaw for sure as temperatures are well above average. Chile today, though, we're in the 40s in our northern counties around 50 in the triangle, mid-50s in the sandhills.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Best bet for a light shower today is going to be the farther north that you live. And then for tonight, cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 30s to near 40. A few passing light showers. The best bet is going to be the farther north that you live. Again, it's not going to amount to much at all.
