This is ABC 11 eyewitness news. Good morning, Carolina, I'm Bianca Holman. It's Saturday, September 12th this morning on eyewitness news. A new twist in the case of a man accused of causing an disruption on UNC's campus involving black students. We'll explain why he failed to appear in court in Orange County. And we've got some pain at the pump. Diesel fuel hitting an all-time record of a $6 a gallon, which will affect nearly everything you buy.

And President Trump and the First Lady coming to North Carolina next week. What brings them here coming up? Let's go ahead and take a live look at the Raleigh Skyline as we start the weekend. Hopefully you are up and at them. You've taken the dogs for a walk. They're not scratching at the door, Steve. You let them on out. Why start howling?

Right? It's crazy. Just you should be up and at it. And once it starts howling, you have to wait until it finishes. Because you're going to stop it. And I don't know what it is. Exactly. All right, what a good day for tailgate.

We got a lot of football games. We do. Yeah. Listen, folks, if you're heading out today, just be aware there's a stalled front right over us. That's going to give lift and that can squeeze out showers and thunderstorms. It's not going to rain everywhere today, but there will be some thunderstorms around. We'll make it to the mid-80s before that happens. A far cry from the 98 we hit yesterday, just an absolute scorcher.

So it will be cooler today. And we got a little bit of rain at the airport. Most areas did not get rain yesterday. Up in Virginia did and south of Fayetteville did. There were two outflow boundaries, one from the south and one from the north. And they came together and where they met, we had lift. And that was right around Wake County, including the airport, where we got some of those heavier downpours yesterday later in the day.

Front that this morning was stalled over, starting to lift north where there's a little trough. It's lingering over. Again, that'll help with any lift that we need to squeeze out a shower, thunderstorm. and the opportunity should be a little bit higher as we go later in the day. Not a guarantee you're going to get rain today, but our in-house model, a little bullish on trying to show more coverage as we go into the afternoon of showers and thunderstorms. Take that with a grain of salt. Just know there will be some thunderstorms around. 77 into North Hills with plenty of clouds. The dew point at 73. It's muggy out there.

76 in Fayetteville and Irwin, 74 Goldsboro and Oxford at 72 degrees. Evening out, that's when we have a decent chance at a shower or thunderstorm. them just keep an umbrella handy just in case you get caught in one of those storms. It happened last night near the state fairgrounds. You can see here our breaking news crew on the scene along the train tracks right off the Hillsboro Street and Powell Drive. This is right behind the Berks Brothers hardware store. RPD trying to figure out why the woman was on the tracks and they're working to identify her. The man accused of causing a disturbance at UNC Chapel Hill failed to show up yesterday to court but remains in Wake County on two other pending matters.

45-year-old Keegan Wilson will face facing disorderly conduct and simple assault charges in connection with the incident at Greenlaw Hall. Black student groups were having a watch party there before the disturbance. Wilson is accused of assaulting one person. Court documents say Wilson pushed and chased people with a sharp object, sprayed them with an alcohol-based substance, and used a lighter along with hitting people and using offensive hateful language. I think the university could have done a better job of alerting the students,

like, hey, maybe stay away from this area, like don't, because there were people who weren't involved in the situation who were still walking through. UNC police say they quickly apprehended Wilson, so they did not issue an alert. Carolina notification, but some students say they still wanted to know what was happening. Wilson has no prior criminal record and he's currently under involuntary commitment order following a mental health crisis. His next court date in Orange County is September 23rd. Although federal government is no longer threatening to withhold highway money from North Carolina

over its handling of commercial driver's license issued to people who were not American citizens, that's according to our news and gathering partners at the News and Observer. The NCDMV revamped how it issues certain CDLs to make sure it's meeting federal requirements over this summer. The DMV was able to resume issuing CDLs to migrants who are in the country legally, but changes the federal rules and but changes in those federal rules could make those licenses rare in the future. Another inflation indicator flashing red. The price of diesel is now above $6 a gallon for the first time ever. AAA reports it's now averaging 606. Many trucks, trains and boats use it for shipping goods, so it can have a significant effect on prices.

A Brown University tracker shows diesel price increases have cost U.S. households about $355 each since the war in Iran began. Combined with gas heights, the total is closer to $800. The owner of a trucking company in Henderson for more than 50 years describes the impact on his business. I've got 35 employees in the trucking business a lot. Our weekly fueling is about $60,000. But the situation is even worse on the West Coast. AAA says in California, diesel is averaging almost $8 a gallon. GasBuddy predicts some fuel prices could end up higher than pumps are able to display.

Many digital dispense displays can only show a maximum of four digits, meaning those stations could run out of numbers to display further price hikes. In your voice, your vote, North Carolina Senate candidate Michael Wally, set to get some big support next week. President Trump coming to North Carolina next Wednesday to campaign for Michael Wattley Republican candidate for U.S. Senate. Trump will speak at the Gastonio Municipal Airport at 7 p.m. Wally is facing former Governor Roy Cooper in the closely watched race.

Several polls show Cooper leading Wattley by double digits just two months from the critical midterm election. Watley is hoping President Trump will give his campaign a boost. New this morning, First Lady Melania Trump will be in North Carolina on Tuesday, one day ahead of her husband. According to the White House, the First Lady plans to visit Ash County to promote community resiliency after Hurricane Helene. She'll also discuss education technology in schools. Western North Carolina continues to rebuild from the devastating storm in October of 2024. Well, a special honor to the late Dolly Parton takes off in our home state of Tennessee.

That story in our next half hour. And philanthropist McKenzie Scott, making another huge donation to an HBCU in North Carolina just ahead the milestone she just reached. And speaking of HBCU's NC Central, setting a new record high for enrollment. But first, a check outside. Good morning, Steve. Hey, good morning there, Bianca. Good morning, everyone. Got some clouds around right now. It is muggy out there.

Temperatures are in the 70s. We'll make it to the 80s today. And a risk of some scattered showers and thunderstorms saw the details coming up. This is first alert weather from ABC 11. I witness news. Good morning, everyone. You made it to the weekend. There's a stalled front that's lifting northward, but that could help trigger some scattered showers and thunderstorms today. Not nearly as hot. Yesterday we had temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s.

We're going to be in those mid-80s today. Plenty of clouds around right now, and that front's kind of drifting northward as that pushes to the north. Again, opening the door to a lot of moisture that could give us a shower. Thunderstorm later today. Not everyone gets rain, but the areas that do could have some locally heavy downpours. Just be weather aware, especially later afternoon as we get into the evening hours. Right now, 77 degrees at North Hills. The dew point at 73, it's sticky out there with widespread mid-70s across the board.

Some below 70s are in Oxford. Siler cities at 72 in Fayetteville at 76 degrees. Head now to watch the UNC play, there's a risk of a shower. Thunderstorm temperatures holding in the low 80s with plenty of clouds. that kick off again at noon today against E lot. So the Ohio Valley is going to have showers or storms through Atlanta down into Orlando, hot in Dallas, some areas that might have some issues today. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Orlando, just to name a few.

So far this morning, all the major hubs have been looking good, except now Boston got some big-time delays, about an hour. Got you seven-day coming up in a few minutes. Bianca. All right, what's going up there in the northeast? Goodness. Steve. All right, Steve, thank you.

McKinsey Scott continues to be among the world's wealthiest women, and she continues to make significant donations to historically black colleges and universities. Scott announcing a $42 million financial boost to Elizabeth City State University, which is about 140 miles northeast of Raleigh. Now, with that donation, according to Fortune, Scott has now donated more than $1 billion to HBCUs. Jeff Bezos, ex-wife, has made donations to major schools such as Howard University, North Carolina A&T State University, and Winston-Salem State University. University. North Carolina Central University celebrating a school record, their record enrollment for the first time ever more than 10,000 students are enrolled at the HBCU. That's a 9.1% increase from fall 2025. This marks the fourth year in a role of enrollment growth. The student body includes nearly 2,600 first-time undergraduates, new transfer, and second-degree students. School leaders

attribute the growth to a combination of increased retention, expanded academic and online programs, and the university's location in Durham. Former NBA legends to kill O'Neill will be in the triangle today, but his visit to Chapel Hill is not connected to basketball. That story coming up in our next half hour. And expanding access just ahead the new program in Wake County and the libraries, how card holders can now check out electronics like a laptop. Right now at 912 on this Saturday morning,

here goes a live look into downtown Raleigh. We've got the hopscotch festival happening down. there and yeah it's going to be amazing. We are local news. ABC 11 eyewitness news continues now. The Smithsonian Secretary Lonnie Bunch is stepping down. Bunch has spent seven years leading the world's largest museum, education and research complex. His resignation comes amid mounting attacks on the Smithsonian from the Trump White House. The administration has accused the Smithsonian of presenting a radical view of American history.

Trump has also threatened to withhold federal funds. funding from the institution. Now to the push to expand digital access across Wake County. Wait County Public Libraries now offering Chromebooks and mobile hotspots for checkout. Cardholders can take the devices home for seven days. Devices are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. The library system currently has 100 Chromebooks and mobile hotspots available for checkout across 13 library locations.

Wait County Commissioner says, quote, by lending Chromebooks and our hotspots, our libraries are helping to remove barriers and give more residents the tools they need to be successful regardless of their abilities or circumstances. All right now, maybe you grab a book from the library or a new laptop. One of the rentals there and head out to Kerry Park. Looking pretty beautiful for right now, Steve. Yeah, it is looking pretty nice out there. Picture us out there.

Some broken cloud cover. This is a impossibility you're going to get wet today. Not a guarantee, but there should be some scattered showers and thunderstorms around. Not for everybody, but you might get under a heavier downpour later today in the afternoon and evening hours. hot and humid on Sunday. It feels like numbers can be up around 100 again. A stray isolated shower, thunderstorm as possible. Pick days of the week, Tuesday, Wednesday. Humidity is really going to be coming down. The dew points crash for a couple of days. Should be really nice before getting a little bit hotter and more humid, especially as we get to next Friday. So there's a risk of showers and

thunderstorms today. Really low chances we go into Sunday and Monday then likely dry for a while. You can see the coverage tomorrow's not that impressive, but today at least it's there. Not everyone's going to get a heavier down for, but there be some storms around. That frontal boundary is starting to drift northward right now. We have that trailing trough that's over us. And again, that's going to supply some of the lifts. So if you got a round of golf today, likely going to be okay. Numbers in the mid-80s, but just be aware there could be a shower with thunderstorm that develops a little higher chances as we get going later in the day.

We'll see some of these bubbling up. As we go through the afternoon into the evening hours, you get under one of these could bring some heavy down force. but you notice not everyone getting the rain once again. Right now we're looking at 77 cloudy skies. DuPont at 73. Widespray temperatures in those 70s out there with lower 70s up in our northern counties. Two home games left are the regular season for the Bulls. Today there could be a shower thunderstorm around.

We'll keep that risk going in the evening and they got fireworks tonight as well. So that front continues lifting northward likely dry tomorrow. There could be a little isolated shower, thunderstorm around, mainly to the east. And then as this front comes in late in the day, still going to be a hot day. This front really doesn't have much to work with as far as rain, but behind it, some drier air comes plunging south. And it's going to feel pretty darn good as we get into Tuesday and Wednesday. Some showers in the mountains today. Tomorrow looks to be a better day.

Beaches looking good today. Numbers in the 80s. Watch for a few scattered showers and thunderstorms there for tomorrow. So we'll watch for a few storms later today. Numbers in the 80s for high. It's pretty close to normal. just a little bit above that. If you don't get a storm, it could be a little bit hotter.

We're in the 70s again tonight with a risk of an evening shower, thunderstorm. And your first alert, seven day, just a spotty shower tomorrow, 91, but feels like closer to 100. Still hot on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, if you can get out. It's could be fantastic with temperatures in the lower to middle 80s and lower humidity. Good morning, Carolina. It's Saturday, September 12th. I'm Bianca Holman. You're watching eyewitness news right now on ABC 11 and wherever you stream. The top stories in all the day's news is just ahead. But first, let's go ahead and check in with meteorologist Steve Stewart. So a lot of football fans out there like watching you and watching us only because of you to see what the weather is going to look like. Because they got a tailgate. Yeah. You know, the Bull City has a central and, you know, A&T tailgate. You're absolutely right. A lot going on today. It's going to be warm and sticky out there for sure. is likely going to be in the mid-80s today, not even close to the 98th that we had yesterday.

And there'll be some thunderstorms around. Not everyone gets them, but we'll see them in the afternoon, especially late afternoon into the evening hours. Here's that 98 that we hit yesterday. Already you picked up about a third of an inch of rain, but most areas got absolutely nothing. Up in Virginia, we had some good heavy downpours and also south of Fayetteville. There were two outflow boundaries, one coming from the north and one from the south, and they met up right over Wake County. and that caused the lift and squeeze out that thunderstorm that was late in the day yesterday. Meantime, there you see the cloud cover around, spotty little showers here and there,

but we'll probably see some thunderstorms later today, so the probability is going to go up a little bit higher as we get late afternoon, early evening hours, although we can't rule out a shower during the day. Our in-house model showing some of the thunderstorms starting to bubble up as we get into the afternoon, into the evening hours. We'll continue that risk going later on the day. Right now we're looking at some clouds at 78 in North Hills at DuPont at 74. It's really sticky out there. 76 in Clinton and Fayetteville, 73 in Roxburgh, and Southern Pines at 77. It's the evening hours. We have that decent risk for showers and thunderstorms. Have an umbrella handy in case you get caught in one of those heavier downpours. All right, Steve, thank you. Well, new this morning, the Atlantic hurricane season already. for the record books, and it may not be for what you think. We're actually 103 days into the hurricane season, and no hurricanes have formed in the Atlantic Ocean, which is a new record. Since the satellite era began in 1966, September 11th was the latest date for the first hurricane to form in the Atlantic. Hurricane season. September is the peak of hurricane season, but no storms are expected for the foreseeable future. The lack of hurricanes in the Atlantic is a result of the strengthening El Nino in the Pacific. Well, this morning, the IT and troubleshooter diving into parking frustrations at the popular North Raleigh shopping area. The parking is free, but with a catch.

And one woman caught a mistake. Last year, North Hills implemented new parking enforcement in some areas where you can park for free. But you first must register your car by scanning a QR code or risk getting a citation. At first, you got three hours of free parking. Then this summer, it was not down to just two hours. But not all the signs were changed. Courtney Carroll visited North Hills in parks where the sign stated three hours free parking. And she even snapped a picture of the sign. But two hours into her dinner, she got an alert

about her free parking expiring, and she had to pay. I think it's very misleading. You are kind of being forced to pay into that, especially when it was advertised as three hour parking. And then you get a text two hours into dinner. You're kind of forced to pay. Otherwise, you're going to get the ticket. A representative with Kay Reality said, that when its power parking program changed this past June to just two hours, the company says signage was updated throughout the area, but acknowledges one sign still showed three hours, which has now been corrected, as you can see there. They also apologized for the confusion this may have caused, and if anyone has experienced an issue,

they are happy to offer a courtesy waiver. Happening now, you've got your first chance to see rare piece of American history, three historic copies of the Declaration of Independence dating back to the early 1800s or on display in Durham. You can check them out in downtown county and Main Library through September 20th. This is video shared by Duke University of the exhibit being all set up there. The three rare prints are on loan from David M. Rubenstein Americana Collection. After their stop downtown, the copies will move to Duke University's National Museum of Art. Well, they'll be on display until early January.

New airline bringing a new international destination to RDU. Valeris is launching a nonstop flight to Guadalajara, Mexico. The service will connect the Research Triangle region to the technology hub known as Silicon Valley of Mexico. The nonstop service begins October 16th, Guala Harra joins Cancun, Mexico City, as already used third destination in Mexico. Well, now to the posthumous honor for the late great Dolly Parton. The Metro Nashville Airport Authority voted yesterday to bring the process of renaming the Nashville International Airport after the legendary country singer. A unanimous six to zero vote, the board approved a resolution to change the airport. name in honor of Pardon.

It could take six months to a year before the travelers can officially book a flight to in and out of Dolly Parton International Airport. Dolly died last month at the age of 80 following a brief battle with cancer. Yesterday marked 25 years since September 11 terrorist attack and Lifetime hosted a special screening of Robin Roberts presents Angel in the Rubble, the Janelle Guzman story. It's about a New York City transit employee who was the last survivor pulled from. the debris at Ground Zero. The film is based on Guzman McMillan's memoir, Angel in the Rubble, The Miracless Rescue of 9-11's Last Survivor. We've been wanting to do this film for quite some time, and the timing is perfect now with

this incredible cast and crew that we have led by Sherry Shepherd and Dandre Whitfield playing Janelle and her husband, Roger, and it being 25 years since 9-11. to have a story of hope during this time because it's very difficult for many of us to look back at what happened. But to have this type of story of hope and perseverance, I think will help folks. I hope the audience learns to look at your neighbor. Don't judge because you know what? You never know when you might need your neighbor. So go and look past all of the stuff, and we need to come together the way we came together 9-11.

And we need that now. I'd love for the honest to take away that the most important thing in this, life really is love. And sometimes, you know, we should really do what we can to alleviate having tragedy strike before we understand how important it is. And that sometimes love is right underneath us and we just don't realize it. Angel and the Rubble premieres tonight on Lifetime. Well, as we approach the November midterm election, here are some important dates to remember. October 9th is the deadline to register to vote. First and early voting is from October 15th through October 31st.

The final day to request an absentee ballot is October 20th, and November 3rd is Election Day, which is also the deadline for all absentee ballots. The time down 935 on this Saturday morning turning to college football. Shaquille O'Neill heading to Chapel Hill for the UNC pregame party. Shaq, a four-time NBA champion, aka DJ Diesel, will be part of today's Chapel Thrill Game Day concert. The event will be held in Polk Place. It begins at 10 a.m. So in about 25 minutes here, and it's going to be taking off, and it's an event two hours prior to kickoff out there. So UNC will play East Tennessee State today at noon.

Meantime, today's Aggie Eagle Classic has a new game time. Due to those potential storms later on today, North Carolina Central University, moving the time of the football game against rival A&T up to noon. The game was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. And here's Reese Davis and Kurt Herbst Street of East. ESPN's college game day with a preview of week two and college football matchups airing today on ABC 11. What a Saturday on ABC. Great triple header. It starts in Kyle Field with Arizona State and Texas A&M. You know the Sun Devils since the start of 24, 6 and 1 against ranked opponents.

Nobody's better. Wow. Wow. And they came out week one with a quarterback in Cutter Bowley that really had a massive day. Kenny Dillingham, the Offense Corner's head coach, does as good a job as anybody. What a matchup on a Saturday between Dillingham going up against Mike Elko and that defense from Texas A&M. A&M is going to try to take them out of their game early, but so much movement, pre-snap movement. This will be a good test, I think, for A&M's defense.

3.30 Eastern time in Lexington. Alabama goes on the road. New Kentucky coach Will Stein wants his fans prepared and saying lots of mean things to the Crimson guys coming in. This week. And, you know, one thing we do know about him, he can coach another guy can coach quarterbacks. He's got the transfer from Notre Dame Kenny Minchie, who really is, I think, comfortable within this game. For Alabama, young quarterback Keelon Russell on the road for the first time as a starter, they need something from the running game, takes some of the heat off of him. He's got a chance to have a big game. In prime time, we're all waiting.

Ohio State and Texas. Yeah, Ohio State and Texas. Last year we learned a lot about both these teams week one. Now it's round two down in Austin. Find out how good these two teams are on the offensive line and defensively where I think they have a few question marks coming in. You know the last time Texas beat a number one team in Austin? 1950. Oh, my gosh.

I have a chance against the Buckeyes Saturday night. Wow. All right, ABC 11 is your home for SEC football. Here's again a look at the games you can watch all afternoon. Well, just months after making history, two NASA astronauts are hanging up their spacesuits. And too much light during nighttime sleep could damage your heart. That story just ahead. Not everyone's going to get rain, but there'll be scattered showers and thunderstorms around. T temperatures are going to be in the mid-80s, even lower 80s up in Roxburgh. Higher chance of rain there. Little sprinkles going on in a couple of spots probably not reaching the ground.

But keep in mind that the clouds are going to be winning out over any sunshine today. But we'll get peaks of sun. If you're out on the lake today, just keeping out of the sky, a spotty shower possible. Higher chances the later in the day into the evening that we get. Numbers will fall down to the 70s later in the evening. We're 78 now, but it is humid out there. That dew point at 74 does not feel good at all. 73 in the Roan O'Crapids, 74 in the Burlington, and Fayville at 76 degrees. UNC's game today, midday kickoff. There could be a shower thunderstorm.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have a brief delay if we get some lightning nearby. Temperatures kind of holding in the low 80s with kickoff at Elon there with Elon at around noon today. Showers and thunderstorms across the Ohio Valley. Atlanta is going to have thunderstorms. Orlando as well. New York's fine. Denver looks good. So does Chicago.

Dallas still very hot over 100 degrees. So far we've got some delays now in Atlanta and more delays up in Boston about an hour. Got your 7-8 coming up in a few minutes, Bianca. All right, not this ripple effect. That's a big hub in Atlanta. All right, thanks, Steve. Well, a new study suggests even the smallest amount of light during sleep may be bad for your heart. Researchers found those exposed to light levels of more than three luxe, saw changes to the shape and function of their heart muscles.

Three luxe is equivalent to moonlight or light bleeding underneath the door of a closed bedroom, a door there. and so experts say that the study had limitations and more research is needed. The two NASA astronauts who led the Artemis 2 moon shot earlier this year are retiring from active duty. Commander Reed Wiseman and pilot Victor Glover will no longer serve as active astronauts, but will continue to support the moon exploration program as emeritus astronauts. They flew around the moon in April along with North Carolina's own Christina Cook and Jeremy Hansen, setting a new distance record for humanity. Season 3 of Dancing with the Stars is ready to premiere with the live two-night special.

Wolfpack professor has combined science, North Carolina barbecue, and a passion for students into a recipe that gives back. Amber Repenta has the latest. At NC State, Dr. Chris DiPerno has spent more than two decades teaching science. Well, wildlife management. Outside the classroom, he's been working on a different kind of experiment. It's something that we've been playing with for 15, 16, 17 years. cooking for family, friends, colleagues in the backyard.

For years, DiPerno has been perfecting his homemade barbecue sauce, serving it at cookouts and fine-tuning the recipe along the way. Being a scientist, you try different things, you experiment, you succeed, you fail, you know, following the NC State model, we think and do. He calls it slobberin sauce, a recipe inspired by both of North Carolina's iconic barbecue traditions. It brings together both eastern and western. styles. I've had so many people try it. They say I am absolutely eastern North Carolina. And then

they're like, this is really good. And the same with the Western North Carolina. Small batch prepared, high quality ingredients. And what started as a backyard favorite has grown into an official Wolfpack product. but we were just talking about how we haven't had any hurricanes in the Atlantic this year. Yeah, isn't that something the latest ever in the satellite era? If you want to, so we're number one right now. And it's not a bad thing, right? Having no hurricanes is not a bad thing at all. But there's nothing developing anytime soon. this El Nino pretty impressive. We've had tropical storms, but every time they start getting a little bit stronger, we get wind shear, just tore them apart. So really not dealing with the hurricanes. That's,

again, not a bad thing. Not for everyone, there'll be rain around today, stormy Saturday, but again, it's going to be hit and miss out there. So just be aware of that. It's a hot, humid Sunday. Feels like numbers up around 100 degrees. A stray isolated shower, thunderstorm can't be ruled out. Pick days of the week, Tuesday and Wednesday. It's really going to be pleasant because humidity and And temperatures are coming down Tuesday and Wednesday and we'll slowly start moderating again. By next Friday, we should be back in the more humid air mass. So scattered showers and thunderstorms for today. Tomorrow, that chance really goes down.

Same thing on Monday. I'll keep Monday at 20% because there is a front coming in. But with little fanfare other than cooling us and again giving us a lower humidity. Scattered storms today, less coverage, obviously, just spotty tomorrow. And then Monday is likely going to be dry. And then Tuesday looks to be fantastic. and thunderstorms off the coast right now. And we also have some showers and storms in Atlanta causing delays.

That's going to be pushing up into our mountains here pretty soon. And we anticipate that risk of showers and thunderstorms, especially later in the afternoon into the evening hours. There could be a spotty shower though at the midday hour. Our model trying to show that again, hit and miss and where they develop, it's really challenging to tell you this is just a model suggesting that we'll get some of those scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. 78 into North Hills right now.

DuPont at 74. It's really steamy out there. 75 Smithfield, 77 southern pines and Roxburgh's at 73. Bulls have two games left or the regular season at home. And with that, there could be a shower, thunderstorm that comes nearby. Maybe a brief delay that'll have fireworks tonight as well. The Bulls will there at the Deepap. Now tomorrow we're looking at just a stray little shower here and there.

Otherwise, I expect to see brighter skies in the afternoon. This front comes in with little fanfare, probably partly cloudy. It might squeeze out a little shower, but what this is doing is opening the door to the cooler and drier air that's going to come punching in as we get into Tuesday. Unsettled in the mountains today, tomorrow looks to be the better of the two days. And today looks good out at the beaches. There's a risk of a shower or thunderstorm, not a washout tomorrow, but temperatures will be in the 80s. Watch for a shower thunderstorm today will be in the mid 80s for highs close to normal. Now, if we don't get rain, we might be a little bit.
