Are you one of those media strategy people clicking through slides, scrolling spreadsheets?
Yes? Good. This is for you. Because on Spotify, there's an audience that's different.
Locked in. Loyal, invested. They're called fans.
Fans don't just listen to music. They feel seen by it, like it belongs to them.
So when your brand shows up on Spotify, that's who you're talking to.
And you're right next to artists like me, Lizzo. So, are you ready to talk to fans?
Spotify Advertising. You're among fans.
Whenever you think of something that you really desire, imagine that you have it already.
It is so powerful that it is awe-inspiring and all I suggested you is try it for a little while.
Just imagine, close your eyes, drive it along, think about it as necessary, stand, relax, do whatever you want.
But just imagine that you've already accomplished it and try to get the feeling.
Get the feeling.
As though it were already a success.
As though it were a past tense.
As though it were already accomplished.
that you don't have to worry about it again.
You've already got the theory.
Right?
Like if you can't sit still and ignore notifications
and focus for a day,
nothing great will get accomplished.
Because it's not about what you want,
it's about what's required.
And whether that's your best or not is irrelevant.
It's just there's a price tag
and you've got to be willing to pay for it
or you don't get the thing.
And a lot of times it's not what you want.
The fear, it's a construct of the mind,
in the first place.
Who says it's going to happen
and where is the evidence
it's going to happen?
Where's the evidence?
It's not going to happen.
You don't know.
Stop thinking about tomorrow.
The music is playing here right now.
Yeah, but this fear of the future,
this anxiety of what if.
Yeah, what if and what if not.
Both of them are there.
But the problem with the fear is
he's very strong
because the one thing you can be absolutely certain of
is that the tables will turn
that's absolutely guaranteed
so in other words if you're on a high
be humble
and if everything has gone wrong
be hopeful
and keep going
just remember
nothing ever stays the same
so the truth is
I repeat you must keep going
that awards will be there for you.
What one great thing would you dare to dream
if you knew you could not fail?
If you knew beyond the shadow of a doubt
that you could not fail,
what one thing would you set as a goal for yourself?
Because sometimes answering that question
will tell you the one thing
that you've been put on this earth to accomplish.
It's not what you get that makes you value.
It's what you become.
So part of the key here is to set the kind of goals
that will make something up.
You don't set them too low,
So that you don't have to grow and you don't have to read and you don't have to try and you don't have to stretch.
Don't set them too low.
There's a good middle road here to follow.
Goals that will inspire.
Goals that will help you grow, change, develop and become better than you.
It's normal to not know what you're doing.
If you did, it wouldn't be called growth.
High five your fear, uncertainty and doubt and carry on.
Do you get tired, stressed, sad, hungry, frustrated, unfurbed.
Do you feel misunderstood?
Great. You're human.
Nobody's coming along to fix your problems for you.
Nobody's gonna wake up tomorrow and go out of their way
to come up with some sort of master plan as to how you can be saved from your reality.
The fact of the matter is, people are wrapped up in their own life.
They got stuff going on. They've got problems of their own that they're trying to solve.
And you know what they're not doing?
Asking how you can fix it.
So instead of sitting around waiting for someone to come save you,
figure out how to save yourself.
Just keep going, keep going.
We're not done yet.
You know, we're not done yet.
So, by the time in storm,
I feel I have a full circle and I'll be what I want to be.
Why is it called self-mastering?
Because it is something you need to discover about yourself.
It is not something other people are going to discover about you.
Next time you go into the situation,
or you have a feeling coming up in the way,
No matter which one it is. Just ask yourself where is the root of that feeling right now.
And this you can do with many, many things. Take the time and watch yourself. Sometimes we call it also,
turn the view inward. It's the heart park and it is the one that opens the greatest doors.
This analogy is my favorite analogy of all time. It's about an ancient Chinese bamboo tree.
And the process, remember that word, process.
So growing this tree was just insane.
So obviously you plants it in the soil,
you water and fertilize it.
But you have to water and fertilize it.
Every single day, you miss one day,
it dies in the ground.
Now, here's what's crazy,
is that nothing grows from the surface for five years.
So you're watering something,
you're working towards something,
and you cannot visibly see the fruits of your labor.
You guys ever been there?
I've put in so much work.
I'm doing everything right,
but I'm not seeing the results I want to see.
So what do most of us do? Many of us give up.
Here's what's incredible is that on that fifth year of watering this tree,
it only takes nine weeks to grow nine feet tall.
Here's a question that we have to ask ourselves is,
did it take nine weeks to grow this tree?
Or five years and nine weeks to grow this tree?
Answer's obvious, right?
It took five years plus those nine weeks.
Everybody saw the nine weeks.
Everybody sees the blowup.
Everybody can see that, but what they don't see,
is the underground work, the working while everybody else is wasting time, the believing,
even when you go through failure and failure and failure, even when people give up on you,
even the people who you're doing it for, can you still water that dream? Can you still water that goal?
Someone asked, do you struggle? Yeah, absolutely, I struggle. So does everyone. But the thing I
struggle with is the thing that I choose to wrestle with. It can only be an opponent.
It can only be something you struggle or wrestle with if you choose to stay in that arena.
There are other arenas that for you to step into, for you to walk in and realize that you are equipped
and that you have a mastering skill.
Every one of you has a skill, something that you're great at.
And if you could ever hone in on that and build your confidence on the repetitions you put in developing that mastery,
whatever it is that comes into your life that looks like it's a giant,
there's something bigger on the inside of you.
You just have to find out what's your mastery.
And when you master that, you'll master what you were supposed to be.
The rule of 100 states that if you spend 100 hours in a year, which is 18 minutes a day, all of us, in any discipline,
if you spend 18 minutes a day, which is 100 hours a year, you'll be better than 95% of the world in that discipline.
Working on something that you really care about, you don't have to be pushed.
The vision pulls you.
Passion, the heartbeat of one's journey, becomes the driving force.
When your work aligns with your heart's desires, motivation becomes second nature.
Let passion guide you through the labyrinth of life where every step is a purposeful stride towards
fulfillment.
Succeed, you must fail.
Failure is not the opposite of success.
a part of it. I want you to fail and I want you to get up and do it again. Every time you fail,
you one step closer. You have to let your failures teach you. Sounds harsh, but the beauty of it is,
once you figure it out, once you figure out how to build yourself from the ground up, that is
something that nobody can take away from you. And you will know, no matter what happens, if everything
was taken away and you had to start over from zero, you had done it before, you can do it again.
and that is a level of confidence that most people wish they have.
The tragedy of life doesn't lie in not reaching a goal.
The tragedy of life lies in having no goal to reach.
It isn't a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled,
but it is a calamity not to dream.
It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars,
but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for.
There's fucking excuses here.
And every fucking excuse that you tell yourself, every lie that you tell yourself,
every fucking little story you tell yourself about not being able to do what it is you want to do because of whatever it is,
that's just you, that's just you telling yourself another thing that will keep you where you are for a longer period of time.
Where you are is somewhere that we don't want to be.
Fear of failure.
Fear of failure can keep you from taking risk.
It can leave you sitting there paralyzed into not taking action.
But I don't want you to overcome fear of failure.
I want you to be afraid of failure.
Fear of failure is good.
Fear of failure will keep you up at night planning, rehearsing.
But in order to become that somebody, you've got to discover what is it there?
What is it that my body loves doing?
What is it that my mind can't take off of it?
What is it that keeps me up at night?
What is it that stirs me up when I see?
And what gets me emotionally involved, engage, and connected?
Fear of failure will keep you training hard.
Fear of failure will stop you from cutting corners.
Fear of failure will keep you working, thinking, striving,
and relentlessly trying to be.
to be more prepared for batter.
So I want you to be afraid of failing.
Because you found your calling.
And calling is the exact word you want to use,
because your passion and your purpose
have been calling you before you were born.
If you wake up in the morning, you start
having negative thoughts.
Man, this ain't my day.
I walk up on the wrong side of the bed.
I just don't feel myself.
In the middle of the day, if you feel yourself doing that,
just stop for a second.
second and start going over in your mind everything you have to be grateful for, everything
you already have because what you have is some standard.
You just haven't gone over the list and taken inventory in the long term.
There is no secret, there is no quick fix, there is no hack, there is no path of least resistance.
The quickest way for you to go from where the f*** you are to where you want to be is that
sh-you're trying to avoid doing it.
But I'll tell you right now, you might not be in control of what the world gives you, but you're always in control of what you accept.
This life is not an external battle, my people.
This life is an internal war.
Your greatest battle is here.
So my question I want to ask you right now is, what are the things that are in your control that you can change right now?
You can't control and change the internal dialogue that you're having within yourself.
I want you to be horrified, terrified.
terrified of sitting on the sidelines and doing nothing.
That is what I want you to be afraid of, waking up in six days or six weeks or six years or 60 years,
and being no closer to your goal.
You've made no progress.
That is the horror.
That is the nightmare.
That is what you really need to be afraid.
of being stagnant.
So, get up and go.
Take the risk, take the gamble, take the first step, take action.
Let another day slit by.
The very thing that you're pursuing in your life is very simple.
It is fulfillment. That's it.
Now, I sum up fulfillment very simply.
How do you feel about yourself when you're by yourself?
Do you feel good?
feel like you're making the most of your life,
are you tapping into what the Greeks call technique?
So you really have to work hard for a set of skills
that matter to you.
Now the skills have to matter.
That's a key part of the equation.
Once the skills matter to you, and they allow you
to serve not only yourself but other people,
and then you actually go and serve those people,
but I want to make sure that everybody understands.
The game that you're playing is a game of neurochemistry.
A fool never learns.
A smart man learns from his mistakes.
A wise man learns from the mistakes of others.
Life isn't fair.
We have to understand that.
It shouldn't be fair.
It's a trial grounds, the testing ground,
it's built to make us harder.
It's built to make us as strong as we can,
to test us, to drive us.
So, mentality is the only thing that gets us through life.
I was an underdog. We are all underdogs in life. Even the baddest person in the world
should think that way. She should always have, I've never arrived mentality. Time is limited. How many
Wednesdays do you have left? How many months? How many weeks? How many years? How many minutes?
That clock is ticking and it's gonna run out. There's people with dreams. Incredible dreams,
beautiful truths, heartwarming dreams.
But who executes?
Without execution, those dreams are nothing.
Without execution, those goals are nothing.
Without execution, those ideas are nothing.
Without execution, you become nothing.
The plan, the idea, the thought doesn't matter.
If you want to win, you have to execute.
Why not you?
Why not you?
with good self-esteem.
Why not you starting to change and setting goes?
Why not you starting to make progress toward financial independence?
If I can do what you can do.
If we can read, you can read.
If we can change, you can change.
If we can figure it out, you can figure it out.
If we can turn it around, you can turn it around.
There isn't anything you can't accomplish.
And so I want to say it to you personally.
Why not you?
It's not really about what you want.
It's about what you're willing to do.
willing to do to get it.
And in that, maybe you have to give something up
that may not be a good habit,
to replace it with a better habit.
Whether it's how you recover, how you sleep, how you dissipate,
everybody got to make that decision.
So it's not just about what you want.
It's about what are you willing to do to get it.
That's what it all comes down to, guys.
You are creators.
Every human being is a creator.
is a creator.
As you think, so shall you be.
I believe we're creators, and I believe we create with every thought and every word.
We really do paint our world with our thoughts.
You can almost create your entire world.
Not almost.
You actually can.
We can all do it.
As we don't realize the power we have.
Yep, you can see it, you can do it.
That's what we are.
We are creators.
We are manifesters.
Clarify and define your vision for yourself.
in the highest possible way that you could see it.
Be delusional even.
Right at the apex of what your mind believes is possible,
maybe push past that even a little bit and define it.
And then number two is like, believe it.
And three is work towards it.
Do not give in to the lie that none of this matters.
Do not give in to the lie that all you're good for is all you're good for.
Above all, resist the urge to believe in half truths someone spoke about you.
The logical fallacies that say you messed up this one thing,
so you must have messed up everything.
You couldn't get that last relationship right.
What makes you think you'll get this one right?
You got fired from that last job.
What makes you think you're any good in the workplace now?
If you really want redemption for the times that you came up short,
then you need to keep your eyes looking forward, not backward.
Because your greatest life is ahead of you, not behind you.
You are going to suffer.
It is going to be hard.
It is going to take all of your energy.
It's going to kick you in the face a thousand times.
You're going to be demoralized.
You're going to be frustrated.
You're going to be angry.
You're going to be bitter sometimes.
This is why it's so important to build yourself and as someone who can execute regardless
of what your mood is, regardless of what your circumstances is.
Because if you can execute when things are f***ed up and everybody else bails and everybody
else quits, what kind of advantage does that give you over the long haul?
It gives you a tremendous advantage.
And if you can become the kind of person that cannot be stopped by outside circumstances or going through a tough time or being in a bad mood or being unmotivated, how can anyone beat that?
It's the biggest lie in the world. You may have said it to yourself today. You may have heard it today. And it's this. I'll do it tomorrow. I'll do it when I wake up. I'll do it after I finish this. I'll do it when I retire. I'll do it when things are easier. I'll do it when things go back to normal.
The Dica said the one thing all fools have in common is that they're always delaying to start.
They're always getting ready to start.
Workerick says you could be good today.
Instead, you choose tomorrow.
We choose tomorrow because we know it's not a real choice.
We're not actually going to do it.
It's just kicking the can down the road.
It's a lie we tell ourselves.
It's the biggest lie in the world.
We don't say we're never going to do it.
We say we're going to do it later, but we're not.
I think we all struggle with something in life.
life where we're not confident in. And once we understand, like I say, how powerful we are,
how powerful our minds are, and there shouldn't be nothing that we can't accomplish. Every day,
you have an opportunity to be a new person. You can just wake up tomorrow and decide, I'm going to be
totally different. I'm going to act different. I'm going to talk different. I'm going to behave different.
Don't get so caught up in the sunk cost fallacy of being you that you never change and you never
evolve. Don't let the amount of time that you've spent being who you are stop you from being who
you could be. I'm here to tell you right now, you're going to make it. I know it doesn't feel
like it. I know you look around and see nothing but despair and defeat. You look at the scoreboard
and see that you're down by 25 in the last quarter. But I'm telling you right now, you're going
to make it not because of what's on you, but because of what's in you. What's in you is somebody
who doesn't give up. What's in you is somebody who knows what defeat tastes like, who knows what
it's like to go through the trials and the tribulation. Somebody who knows that they want to leave
a legacy for the people to come after them. Somebody who doesn't live their life inspired by ego or
fame or accolades, but somebody who wants to make a genuine impact who believes that leaving
all people, places and things, better than they found it, is a life worth living. That's why you're
going to make it. So don't give in. Don't you quit on me. See this race all the way
through the end. You have to believe that this moment is preparing you for something amazing
that hasn't happened yet and keep going. And so I repeated that over and over and over and over and
over again as I wanted to throw in the towel, as I would start to bash myself, as I would
start to feel sorry for myself. I'd be like, nope, there's just no way I'm going to believe that
something amazing isn't going to happen. I've worked too hard. Something amazing that hasn't
happen is coming. Don't let the amount of time that you've spent being who you are
stop you from being who you could be. Just because you've been a certain person up to this
point and people know you to be a certain way doesn't mean you can't change all of
that right now. When you're the absolute best, you get hated on the most. But never
stop fighting. No matter what anyone says, no matter how they try to compromise your vision,
If it's in your gut, if it's in your soul, there's nothing.
There's no worldly possessions that should come between you and your expression.
In my life, I've learned that success has three components to it.
The first, you must be diligent to get there.
It requires waking up every morning, right on time with your alarm,
going to the gym, reading the books, hammering away at your craft day in and day out.
You must be diligent knocking on its door until somebody answers.
And second, you must be consistent to stay there.
Because it's not enough just to knock on enough doors,
get to the top of the mountain, and look out at the view and say,
wow, what a beautiful sight.
You must be consistent if you want to continue to see that vista.
But third, that's only one vista.
There are many more peaks for you to climb.
And if you want to climb more peaks, then you must be grateful.
Don't waste time chasing butterflies, mend your garden and the butterflies will come.
All of us have this tendency to chase, to go and push for all those things that we want in life.
And what the quote teaches us is that the better path is to mend our garden,
to actually work on ourselves internally, and those things that you are seeking will come to you.
If you mend your garden, you become the magnet that attracts the things that you want in life.
there is a strange feeling that one is not yet in real life.
For the time being, one is doing this or that,
but there is always the fantasy that sometime in future,
the real thing will come about.
That one day life's duties will be out of the way
and that you can finally start doing the thing you want
and living your life fully is a myth.
I think it's a lie.
You know, when you're standing at the edge of a cliff
and it's most scariest to jump, that's when you jump.
And when you leap, that's when the net appears.
You know, courage isn't the absence of fear, it's doing it afraid.
You know, that's also faith.
Like, if you saw the net and then you jump, that's not faith.
You knew that was down there.
Faith is like, okay, I'm standing at this cliff.
I don't see anything down there.
I'm incredibly scared.
I don't know what's going to happen.
And then you jump.
And then the net appears, the power of faith.
That of huge steps is continuity.
That one is your friend.
Repetition is your friend.
Not huge jumping.
It is the repetition of things
that starts to embody something inside of you.
But ultimately, it's repetition.
If you don't fail, you're not even trying.
I'll say it again.
If you don't fail, you're not even trying
to get something you never had,
you have to do something you never did.
First step.
before anybody else in the world believes it is you have to believe it.
There's no reason to have a plan B because it distracts from plan A.
Very simple.
This is what I believe and I'm willing to die for it.
Period.
I mean, there are no manuals, no shortcuts, no secrets.
You write your own manual, you develop your own shortcuts,
you find your own secrets.
You go where you're drawn to go and you learn by doing,
doing the work.
I mean, if you're scared, if it all seems like too daunting, if the machinery of it all seems
too big and scary and overwhelming, it's great.
You wake up in the morning and you do it anyway.
Don't get better automatically.
You only get better because you intentionally make a decision to get better.
You have to go from being a person of good intentions to a person of good actions.
the great separator.
The most important key to achieving great success is to decide upon your goal and then
launch.
Get started.
Take action.
Do something.
Move.
The act of taking the first step is what separates the losers from the winners or the winners
from the losers.
There are times in life when you're going through a hard time and you think you're going through a test.
That's not the test.
That's not the test.
The test is how do you go through the hard time?
And if it's a test that you are designed to fail,
how do you handle that failure?
Your story is gonna be the greatest story
that's ever been told.
I'm so glad that you got overweight.
I'm so glad that your mindset's all over the place.
I'm so glad you haven't been treating the people
that you love the greatest.
I'm so glad you haven't been working your ass up.
I'm glad you haven't changed people's lives
or make enough impact.
yet. I'm glad you got comfortable with complacent because when you change, this story is going to be that great.
The understanding that winners write history, which means that no matter how difficult, whatever the
season that you're going through is, just win. Like, keep going until you win. And then once you win,
you can rewrite whatever history you want. And that has gotten me through those harder periods,
because I just knew that I needed to get through to the other side.
You really want something?
You're going to find a way, ultimately.
And it might not be today or next year, or five years or ten years,
but this thing takes priority and precedent over all other things.
When you don't want something, as much as you think you do,
of course, bro.
Just like you said, don't know why I want to live a hard life.
We all want to make life easy for ourselves, for our families, for our mothers.
Boom, boom, that's amazing.
and the thought of that is amazing.
Sometimes your desire might not be enough fuel.
You got to have a strong desire,
and when you have a strong desire,
that outweighs all other.
You are going to die one day,
and every single person whose opinion you're afraid of
is also going to die one day,
and in 300 years, it's probably not going to matter to people
whether you did the thing you said you were going to do
or you let people's opinion beat you into submission.
And I got news for you, whether you do it or not,
people are going to say,
they're either going to make fun of it,
of you for trying or they're going to say that you had so much potential and he just didn't try in
life or whatever. No matter which direction you go in, it's going to come with some bullshit. You can put
up with people's opinions and people's comments and actually do the thing you want to do, or you can
put up with people's opinions and people's comments and die with regret. What you choose to do with
your life as long as it doesn't harm anyone else isn't that important to people. Most people are
just focused on their own shit, doing their own thing, worried about their own life. So,
fuck it. There is no guarantees. Even if you work hard, there's no
guarantee it's gonna work out. I do believe hard work pays off but no one tells you when.
And that's the test. Can you maintain your patience when you don't know when the end is coming?
You don't know when it's going to pay off. You just believe in yourself regardless of who believes in you.
Take ownership. Don't make excuses. Don't blame any other person or any other thing.
Get control of your ego.
Take ownership of everything in your world, the good and the bad.
Take ownership of your mistakes.
Take ownership of your shortfalls.
Take ownership of your problems.
And then take ownership of the solutions that will get those problems solved.
If it seems impossible, it's even better.
You do it anyway.
And as you go, like I said, remember that amidst all that machinery,
You're the one who's going to make the picture.
You win the spark.
In the end, they're one and the same.
You guard that because it's precious.
Now it's starting to get to work.
Maybe this chapter of your life is meant for you to do it alone.
Maybe this is the time for you to practice independency.
To do the things you've always known,
but kept putting off for some reason.
Maybe this phase is for you to be a little bored and lonely
because it might be what you need.
as you're putting the pieces back together.
It might not be fun, but it's necessary.
Because in order to evolve into the next version of yourself,
you need to find out who you truly are.
Everything you do, every choice you make,
move you in the direction of what you say your vision is.
And when you do that, the forces of life rise up to meet you.
The reason why most people have such chaotic lives
is because they're living in chaos in their head.
And as soon as you get clear, it clear.
up. You may be in your dog is out. Noted. Night don't last for help. There's a morning coming in your life.
Stay down until you come up. You have to learn to do things you hate in order to do the things you
love. No payoffs come without sacrifice. Imagine how much further you'd be if you did things even when you
didn't feel like doing them. People think there's some complex formula to winning when the most basic one is
do what you said you were going to do before it became inconvenient.
Practice, practice, practice, and do not accept failure.
Maybe it shouldn't be repetition.
Maybe the answer should be persistence because we all repeat something,
but very few of us really will persist.
Get out there.
Do what you want to do not accept no.
If you love what you do and it's making you happy,
all the hard work and perseverance will pay off.
I once had a gownings council tell me that I shouldn't play basketball.
that it would never amount to anything for me.
His negativity towards me made me stronger.
You can't stop people from trying to limit your dreams,
but you can stop it from becoming a reality.
Your dreams are up to you.
The more you value comfort, the less you value progress.
Discomfort is a necessity for fulfillment.
We are made to face challenges,
to set goals and conquer them,
and to build great things.
Realize that the resistance in your mind,
is the only thing that makes things hard.
So embrace the difficulty
because that's where you'll find your true purpose.
They all know when we'll relax
exactly the person who will become.
The question is, do we believe we can become?
Very few people are going to tell you this,
but growth hurts.
Becoming the best version of yourself
comes with a lot of goodbyes.
Sadly, the only way for some people
to learn to appreciate you is to lose you.
It's really uncomfortable, but you need to do it if you want to grow.
The pain that you feel today, though, is going to be the power that you're going to feel tomorrow.
It's not glamorous.
It's lonely as you start changing.
Everything around you starts changing.
It's not even fun in the beginning.
And so you'd either have to have an incredible amount of hope or a ridiculous amount of inspiration and delusion.
Or you have to be in so much pain.
that the alternative to continuing this pain that you're in is to try something different
because it's the only thing that might be slightly less painful than what you're doing.
Most people lack the ability to master the mundane tasks.
They get bored very easily.
They don't feel like doing things.
They don't understand that.
To build a life, it is mundane.
It is the same things day in and day out, operating at a high level, holding a high standard,
executing with discipline.
Most people just can't do that because they don't have the endurance to do that.
They don't have the fortitude to do that.
They don't have the perseverance to do that,
which is why it's important for you to build yourself
and someone who does, that way you can follow the path
to success, because there is only one path.
And the only path there is is day by day, by day, by day,
over the course of a period of time.
You've got to be okay that there's gonna be people
that don't think you're qualified.
You gotta get okay that there's gonna be some people
that wanna see you fail.
You're gonna have to get okay
that there are gonna be some people
that never understand you, that never support you, that never cheer you on,
and you're okay to do it without their applause.
You're okay to do it without their approval.
You're gonna get to a season and a space and a time where it's okay.
I wasn't doing this for you anyways.
Nobody is going to give you anything that you have not earned.
Nobody cares how tough your upbringing was.
You have to remember that whatever you've gone through,
it pales in comparison.
comparison to the hardships previous generations endured and they overcame them and if they
overcame them you can overcome them too. Courage. Courage is the key to life itself.
There are a lot of people who were born in situations where I'll never get out of this,
so they won't. I say to people say well I would like to have done so and so and so
and so some of you could have done it. So well I couldn't get out of there. Man the bus runs
every day. You will offend people as you're pursuing your vision. You even believing that anything
is possible will offend people. You maximizing your potential will offend people who are so limited
in their thinking that instead of progressing their lives and their mindsets, they want to stop you
from being the best version of yourself. And you can either live your life to please them,
shrink yourself to a point where they will be happy and comfortable with you.
or you can have the shameless audacity to do it anyways,
to go after your dream anyways,
to learn, to grow, to maximize your potential anyways
regardless of who it offends.
You do what you love, you will work harder
than you ever have worked and are harder
than you could ever imagine.
Your dreams will call for that kind of commitment.
It took an insane work ethic for me to get here.
It took time and commitment and sacrificing.
If a person would sit down and let their body relax, totally relax,
and then start to visualize in their mind, see themselves the way they want to see themselves.
See how you'd like to live your life, see yourself living it that way.
Now understand that that's a picture in your mind, and then take that picture and describe it, write it out.
In the present tense, start to read it and read it and read it and read it and read it, and read it.
it every day, carry it around and keep reading it. The one point that all the great teachers,
all down through history, have all agreed on, they've been in complete unanimous agreement on it,
we become what we think about. Now, it may be fantasy at first, it might even appear to us as being a lie,
but if you read it often enough, you'll start to believe it.
Art is art about change, is not making the same choice as you did the day before.
And the moment you decide to make a different choice, you're going to feel uncomfortable.
because you're stepping from the known into the unknown.
See, you can do anything.
You can get up any hour, read any book, take any class, make any change,
develop any skill, do any discipline.
I mean, you can do it all when this how and the why,
or when the why starts to grow, the how gets simple.
Most challenges opposition adversity that we encounter are intern,
even though on the surface it looks to be external.
Because when you come up against something,
whether it be a person, situation, or circumstance,
in perception, our perspective will go to a space in place that is external.
When the course and the path to victory is intern,
meaning we possess everything we need in order to be victorious
over the things that we encounter.
But we look at problems, situations, circumstances,
adversities as something to be external
when really is something that's internal
because we possess everything we already need
in order to get through it.
in order to get through it.
There's a peculiar magic in realizing you're not the same person who started the journey.
It's not a loss of who you were.
Rather, it's an evolution into the person you are always meant to become.
Embrace the transformation.
Fear is a mile wide and an inch deep.
And so it looks like this ocean that you're going to step into and drown.
But as soon as you step into it, you realize it was not that deep at all and you can keep walking through it.
your fears, whatever they are. The fear that we might not do a good job, the fear that it might
not turn out as we hope it would. The fears that are lurking there, some that have come and
have been there even maybe since our childhood. Life is consisted of both fear and faith. Faith,
of course, is the ability to overcome your fears. But what you have to do in terms of your fears,
about perhaps your own inadequacy, not feeling strong enough at the moment, you just have to face
those fields. You just have to go to work on it. The pursuit of your goals will rarely be easy.
You're going to feel discomfort, frustration, and self-doubt most of the time. But instead of getting
discouraged, understand that there's growth in the struggle. You can't become someone you've
never been by doing the things you've always done. Be proud of the effort you're putting in. Be
patient with the results because it's only a matter of time before you come out on top.
It's a part of life.
You know, we were made to evolve and grow, and that means you're going to outgrow people.
That means you're going to outgrow situations and places and things, and that is okay.
Most people will not understand your obsession, your drive, and your determination.
Success is a lonely journey.
That's just a reality.
And most people are not going to understand why you're so driven, while you're so obsessed.
And if you try and make them understand, you're going to end up frustrated.
The best advice I can tell you is, go.
on the journey by yourself. It is the best journey, man. Leveling up, becoming the best version
of yourself is the most awesomest journey you will ever go on. But it's a journey that you
will probably go on by yourself. You'll always have to be the person who roots for you before
everyone else does. And it's usually a single clap in the auditorium for a very long period
of time. It is a slow clap that's just you, rooting for you. Sometimes sitting there thinking
about the life that you want to live and the person you want to be and the simply isn't enough.
If thinking about all the things that you want in your life isn't enough to get you going,
why don't you sit there and think about the things that you don't want?
All the feelings you don't want to experience.
All the pain you don't want to feel.
If you just can't visualize the bright future ahead of you,
why don't you sit there and contemplate all the darkness that you're going to be surrounded
by if you don't do what you need to do?
Like sitting on your deathbed wishing you could do it all over again differently, but you
can't.
wishing you had done what you need to do now when it's too late to do it.
Ask yourself the question, what does the future look like if I don't do what I know I need to do?
Once you've taken that first step, you've looked the beast in the face,
and you'll start progressing, not linearly, but exponentially in speed.
So what's cool is that it doesn't really matter how small that first step is,
because it'll start doubling, and anything that doubles grows unbelievably quickly.
And so that's a very useful thing to know too.
I think the bigger question is, do you know yourself?
You know, I think like there's unlimited people who are successful and happy that got straight A's,
and there's unlimited people who are successful and happy who got D's and Fs.
The question is, who are you?
Which version of the game are you?
What do you like?
Who do you want to be?
And I think that's what you need to focus on.
You cannot wish for a strong character and an easy life.
Each is the price of the other.
What if what you're going through isn't hard?
What if you're just sensitive?
At some point, you have to forget what other people think about you.
Nothing you do has to make sense to anyone else.
Your dreams don't have to align with what others think is best for you
because you're the one who has to live with the consequences of your actions.
Start prioritizing your happiness above being a people-pleaser.
It's your turn to be the next thing.
to be the main character of your story.
