given for free. It's earned. It is earned by what? It is earned by fighting your inner demons
in not giving into temptation. In not giving into feels easy in the beginning, but bears consequences
later. Is you have to decide whether you care more about your future than what other people
think about your future. Someone's version of you has to die. It's either your
desired version of you or someone else's desired version of you.
And the thing is that you're going to be with you a lot more thanly.
When a reptile sheds its skin, what does it do?
How does it behave?
Well, if you don't know, I'll tell you, it hardly moves, it isolates, it hides away,
it doesn't even eat.
Does that sound familiar?
You are a reptile shedding its skin.
The old you is being dismantled, piece by piece, and it hurts, and it makes you stagnant.
It makes you feel weak.
Makes you want to hide away, and you stop doing all the regular things you used to do, and
your mind is foggy, and you're searching for answers, and it feels like day by day you're
just bearing the weight.
But you're not broken.
not even lost because the same way a reptile sheds its skin in order to evolve into the next
version of themselves you must do the same some people can see farther than others some people
are impressed with limitations we all live in all world of limitations some people can see
farther than others so therefore when people judge what i'm doing with their logic
and can be done.
Their reasoning said,
or shouldn't be done.
Their knowledge of history says it can be done.
So that reason, their knowledge, and their logic
clashes with my superior belief.
Therefore, the result is they don't believe.
I worked myself so hard.
I don't know how to do this,
but I know that to get over there, that inside,
I got to grind myself into a fucking thing.
to a fine power.
The world is so noisy.
So my conversation now a lot of times is my God, slow down.
And I lose myself sometimes.
Slow the down.
Go back to the quiet place of that dirty mirror
in that $7 month place you used to live in.
That's where you grew.
A lot of people think self-talk works.
It does, but it doesn't work without the suffering.
Self-talk does not work.
unless it is real. Most of us lie to ourselves in the self-touch doesn't work.
It has to be real. It has to be something that you've done.
Because we have people around us who have become accustomed to this version of us.
And we're afraid that if we change or we evolve, people may say,
you've changed. That is the greatest compliment that a human being could ever give you
to tell you that you have changed.
You're right, I have changed. Matter of fact, I've grown.
I'm no longer a caterpillar. I'm a butter.
I'm a butterfly.
Hey, listen, I don't know who needs to hear this,
but the level that you're about to win at,
it's gonna make people uncomfortable.
Because they were cool with your potential
until you started living in it.
They supported the dream until it started looking real.
Don't shrink.
Don't slow down.
And definitely don't apologize.
The secret to getting a life you want
is making a commitment.
But you will not get all lives you want.
And so at some point,
You have to sit at the precipice and you have to make a trade.
And if you say, I want this more than something else.
It means I know I'm not going to get this.
And I choose to say that I want this more.
And I think this is where people just sit at the crossroads.
When I see people get stuck, it's almost always unmade decisions.
This unmade decisions can last forever.
Stop caring what people think.
Stop listening to what they're trying to tell you to do.
Stop caring about fitting in. Stop caring about the clubs, the parties.
Stop caring about all of that.
Disappear and don't come back.
don't come back until you have everything that you want. Go and find yourself. Go and find out
who you are. Do the challenging thing. Take the risk. Sacrifice all of this to go and get everything
that you want. Put all the distractions down. Put all the negative habits down. Stop doing all the things
that are holding you back and start doing all the things that you know are going to take you to the
next level. You know exactly where you need to take it to win. Take it there. Train harder. Study longer. Be active.
Make sure that you wake up on time.
Make sure that you do all the things that you say you're going to do so you can trust yourself
so you can begin to believe that whatever I put my mind to that, whatever I say, I am going to do that.
You have to start with the little things.
If you say you're going to run today, run today.
If you say you're going to go to sleep at this time, go to sleep at that time.
If you say you're going to stop eating this, stop eating that.
Make sure that your brain can actually trust that you're going to do what you want to do.
This is it.
This is your moment.
This is the time to shine.
Forget all of that.
Forget all the noise.
Forget all the distractions.
focus on you and make it happen this time, make it happen this year.
Whenever you think you can't, confidence comes from the thing that you built.
You must build belief. You must build confidence.
I think it's time for you to go all in.
From this moment on, whatever you do, we're done doing it partially, right?
Like, it's time to move with a different type of energy.
type of energy. It's time to move with some urgency and some excitement and to go all in on what
you say you want. We've been told two lies in our life. The first lie is you're nothing. You're
not worth anything. That's the first lie. The second lie we've all been told is you can be anything.
It's not true. The way we're wired defines what we can do with that wiring. And therefore, the truth is,
is you can't be anything you want,
but you can be everything you are.
Perspective affects and impact how you see the world,
how you see people, how you see circumstances,
but also it affects an impact how you do things.
Like I always say perspective drives performance.
You can have all the resources in the world.
But the incorrect perspective,
and a cat that has no resources with the right perspective
will annihilate you.
Right?
Because they're driven by the perspective
of what they're doing and how they're doing.
You can have all the resources in the world with the wrong perspective
and not make hay, not make no ground
on a mission and the purpose of what you're trying to accomplish.
It won't be easy.
It will be hard because life is hard.
That's what life is.
And these challenges, these challenges that you've done,
challenges that you face, they're going to do their best to take you down.
Do not let them. Stand up. Dig in. Line up those problems and confront them, face them,
fight them. Do not let them bring you down. In fact, in fact, let those challenges
raise you off. Let them elevate you.
We're all put here for a fucking reason.
And it's not to go over here and beat on this drum about what should be and what's not fair.
The world will never be fit.
The world will never, ever be faking fit.
Someone will always have an easier path than you.
Regardless of how difficult you think your path is, there's lots of people out there who
have had that same path and actually won.
huge with that path.
But the adversity you face today
turn you into a better person tomorrow.
Transformation and change is possible.
But it's not very probable.
The probability is low, but the possibility is high.
Everyone has the opportunity to change,
but the path is long, hard, and the path is long,
and often requires big amounts of tragedy, stress,
and turmoil to even get someone to have that opportunity
to take that path.
I also believe that people don't change for people.
I think people change for themselves
when they realize that if I don't change,
then that's not good for me.
But the probability of that happening is low
until something massively painful or drastic happens
their life.
How you do anything is how you do everything.
This ain't saying, oh man, I got to do this the way I do that.
That's a little boy talk.
We're talking mentality, we're talking spirit, we talk in disposition.
We talk about how we show up and how we work for what we say we want without letting
situations, circumstances and people dictate what we bring into an environment every
single day.
I'm going to say it again, not letting situation, circumstances and people dictate what we bring
it to an environment every single day.
We got very few things that we can go.
consoled in this life.
That you give things in your life.
Meetings are everything.
How you define your life will tell a lot about how far you go
with your life.
When you're serious about change, you don't say easier
than done.
You say no matter how hard it may be, no matter how impossible it
may seem, no matter how many people walked out of my life,
I'm going to get it done.
But we don't realize that half the time, the thing that's
weighing us down, the thing that's holding us back,
is what we're holding on to.
What part of your mindset you're gonna leave behind today?
What part of it are you gonna say,
you know, I might need to leave that behind.
I might need to let go of that.
That doesn't serve me anymore.
Sit on your bed one day and ask yourself,
what remarkably stupid things am I doing
on a regular basis to absolutely screw up my life?
And if you actually ask that question,
but you have to want to know the answer, right?
Because that's actually what asking the question,
It doesn't mean just mouting the words.
It means you have to decide that you want to know.
You'll figure that's out so fast it'll make your hair curl.
You're perfectly capable of thinking.
God only knows how.
You're perfectly capable of immense feats of imagination and dream and fantasies.
God only knows how you do all of that.
What would happen if you consulted yourself about the best possible outcome for you?
You won't get an answer.
So you may sit there and look at yourself and maybe you're even buying into the
media. Maybe you're even believing that because you were born a certain race, or you were born
to certain parents, or you had shi parents, or you've suffered from depression, or all these
other things that they put in your face to give you the exact excuse as to why you can't achieve
what it is you want to achieve. You need to understand one thing. And that's this. Your hardships, your
challenges, your situation will either be the reason you don't make it or it will be the story
you tell when you do make it and you get to make that choice. The other thing is take full
responsibility for your life. We can either accept conditions as they exist or we can take the
responsibility to change them. You got chase that dream for you, die man. Bishop Jake said one time.
Bishop Jake said I would hate to die and never do the thing I was born to do.
What am I going to do today to change what I see in this mirror?
How you address it is you face it.
You face it every day.
You face it every single day of your life.
The things that how people look, how people act, how smart someone is.
This is a race that you run completely alone.
And you're all by yourself.
your silk. Growth only comes to pain. That which you do not hate, you will
eventually tolerate. And I think that identifies most people's lives. In other
words, they average becomes sort of like this slow asphyxiation. It's almost
like an anesthetic and that over time we become kind of immune and dulled to the
average that we're becoming. Your life doesn't have meaning without aspiration or
an aim. Okay, so you need a hierarchy of values. There's got to be something at the
talk. It's got to be something important. If you don't have that, your life doesn't have any meaning.
So if you criticize the hierarchy or even the ideas of the idea of hierarchy, you destroy the idea
of aspiration. And then people have nothing. This is, I believe, the single biggest factor for most
people that robs them of success, that you use what other people might say or think or be disappointed by
as an excuse to not fully be yourself, to not fully go after what you want.
You're going to get out of your life what you'll accept.
That's really difficult for people I think to understand is, look, what you think you're
worth and what you're going to tolerate is absolutely what you're going to bring into your life
and what the outward part of your life is going to look like.
No, there's two motivators, right?
There's the gaining of pleasure, right?
Wanting to go get something chasing the dream.
But then there's the avoidance of pain.
We surround ourselves around people that.
that make us feel great.
Tell us what we want to hear.
The second we put ourselves amongst the uncommon people,
we don't like that feeling.
We like that person who says, hey, you know what I mean,
I don't feel good today, man.
And they say, oh, it's okay, brother.
We don't want that in our lives.
We don't want that person's constantly challenging our weaknesses.
We want that person constantly, you know,
making us feel nice and good and secure in us.
That's the mediocrity of life.
We want to be the best amongst the average
people. If you don't develop your capabilities and realize your potential, you may be successful
externally, but you will be deeply unhappy because you're not fulfilling your gifts, your nature.
And so the way that's done is bottom up. Each person discovering their gift, turning it into
valued skills and then using it to succeed by contributing.
But one's career is infinite.
There's no end.
It's like our lives are finite, but life is infinite.
People come and people go, but life continues.
They spend their whole life working for one goal,
though most will never get it, the few that do,
don't know what to do next because their goals were finite.
Their goals were finite.
And so there are finite components to your career.
But your career should be infinite.
So, yes, of course you have to win the finite game.
You have to get the part.
But immediately when you get the part, now you convert to infinite.
So the monkey mind is jumping from branch to branch.
It doesn't want to focus on the root of the issue.
It wants to find the next banana.
It wants to find the next excuse.
It wants to find the next instant gratification.
that's the monkey mind.
And so the monkey mind is never going to help you focus on your strengths.
The reason why we struggle to find our passion
is because the world has constantly pushed us away from our strength.
We've constantly told to focus on your weaknesses.
And so we've all been programmed to say,
oh, your strengths are fine.
They're good the way they are.
But why are you not performing at this?
And so the one way to know your strengths is to ask yourself,
what do you do that you feel the most confidence doing?
When you get tired, when you get fatigued, when you get down, when you're in a slump,
it's your habits, rituals, routines, and your standards that carry you through.
If you don't have good habits, you don't have good rituals, you don't have good routines,
always in your life you will fall down in bad times in slumps and fatigue and in stress.
So you want to be normal.
So you just want to be like everybody else that roams the world,
not knowing the power that's in them.
being fine with being mediocre.
I see a whole bunch of people walking around out here.
We have no idea how talented they truly are.
He wrote, deep is to hunger.
The voice of the genuine, the sintering moment.
One of the things that I can just tell you
as you think about your goals and dreams,
all of us can say in the spirit of integrity that it's possible.
That if anybody at any point in time live their dream,
then it's possible that I can live mine.
I can live mine.
All I want you to ever do is try.
That's it.
I just want you to try in those moments where you hear yourself,
I want you to try.
In those moments where you know that it's time to speak up,
I want you to try.
That's all that I ever ask of you.
Because if you simply do that, and I say simply as if it's so easy,
right?
You will literally unlock the potential of your life.
You have to ask, am I able to turn this fantasy of mind into a fact?
Can I actually realize it?
Can I turn my dreams into reality?
Now, you're either going to say yes, I'm able to, or no, I'm not.
If you realize you are able, if you have an understanding of this potential, this power within you,
then you have to ask yourself, are you willing?
And there's a long series of tests there.
You don't even know what you're going to come up against.
One thing is for certain you'll come up against Whitaker.
You have to be willing to do whatever is required
if you really want to turn your fantasy into a fact.
The second you say yes, I'm willing,
at that instant, you've created your theory.
It's a very reason we were born.
We are all the embodiment of someone's hopes, dreams, aspirations,
someone's prayers.
There are people who have made us cypherfights.
Many of us carry the names of someone's.
someone of significance or reporters in the family, is because they expect us to be an individual,
but to live up to the nameset we were given, being packed to be important, to carry on a legacy,
to leave some kind of imprint on earth that is proof that you were here, that their sacrifice was
not in vain, that everything that was given was for your development.
Whatever it is that you are called to do, you have an obligation and a responsibility to give you all.
To give your all means to give absolutely everything you have, to re-out the cloth of life until there's not a drip left of what you could have.
You know what crazy means?
Crazy means that you have the ability to see things that other people can't.
That's what crazy means.
And if you're not in crazy, you're never going to succeed at anything in life.
Everybody has got to be a little bit off.
Anybody that's something that's done something successful, anybody that's done something great,
they don't think like anybody else.
People give themselves an excuse all the time when they say he's built him.
If you mean he gets up earlier, he stays weighted.
He does stuff for others.
ask questions. He's humble. He works really hard when no one's around. Then yeah, he's built
different. You wake up earlier the people. You stay later than people. You ask questions. You be a good
person. You care about others. You stay humble. You work harder than anyone when no one's there.
I guarantee someone that feels bad about themselves soon will label you as he's built different.
He's built different should be your label because people feel bad about themselves.
If I've given my own, I push them to the limits, and he's able to be able to be able to be able to
Even if someone else wins, they had to be a damn good version of themselves to beat you.
Because you gave your best.
But whatever it is that you've lost it, it wasn't really a loss.
It was a learning place.
It was an opportunity for you to develop something better about yourself.
To taste defeat.
You needed that taste so that you would lose the appetite for it.
We have to go through ups and downs, wins, losses.
because when we lose, we have to make sure we don't get addicted to losing.
We can't begin to say that I'm a victim because of someone else.
I'd have been more.
I would have become more if only.
There is no if only when you're the one and only person responsible for your greatness.
So the only way we get to that ultimate version of ourselves
is by replacing ourselves and growing all the time.
This has to become an addiction for you.
It has to become an emergency.
For too many of us, we like to grow.
And every time you don't make it an emergency, it's not a crisis.
You're not in a hurry.
It's almost like, if I don't do this, I will die.
You never get there.
And the truth is, whether you know it or not, you are either growing or you are dying.
And so you are dying if you're not growing.
The one thing that you have to understand about mental toughness, there is the one thing.
You know what? Every time you decided not to take the right path, you know why you didn't do it? Because it was too damn hard.
You want to be able to have a name that lingers. The only way you want to do that is create memories by impacting the lives of us. It's in it.
In order to pull it out of it, you're going to have to go deeper, though. Deeper than the layer of quitting.
deeper than the lay of being frustrating.
Because one day is not promise.
Today is.
And since you're in it, you might as well own it.
That's why people don't take the right path.
That's why you ask, what's the one thing?
Boy, don't we wish you was that simple.
There's no one rule to success.
There's no one rule to winning.
Those rules are endless.
Mental toughness is a continuing battle.
of what's going on in your head.
There's a mental war that goes on in here,
that you must fight every single day.
We all fall down in life.
The question is, who gets back up?
You go after and you give it all you have.
If you lose, at least you try, man.
I failed.
It's ten times more of a man than someone said,
What If?
Because What If? Never went to the arena.
When you guys find a fear,
that fear will either create you or destroy you.
I love fear.
And reason why, behind every fear is a person you want to be.
Fear is self-imposed, meaning it doesn't exist.
You create it, you can destroy it too.
It's an intangible.
You can't always acquire the things you want.
You can't always just go get the car or the house
or the relationship you want.
But you are in control of acquiring the next version of you.
And that requires being uncomfortable.
That requires growth.
The mind has to be stronger than the feelings,
feelings because that's what the dark side requires you to do that's what winning requires
who cries you to make decisions not suggestions and when you make decisions you have to answer the hard
questions these days people are willing to make decisions they want others to make decisions for
them because when others make decisions for you you always have an eye you can blame that person
car beam about seized the day you old the day why not take you an ownership of it take the
entire deed of life and make it sure all.
Let people know that there is something unique about you that will ring long after the days
that you've taken your last well.
Invest in relationships.
Allow yourself to heal.
Forgive yourself for the mistakes you made when you were in your survival mode because
you've grown from sin.
You've learned and now your best version of yourself.
What do you do after a loss?
You have to take an inventory of what mistakes that were made.
What could you have done?
Whether you want to admit it or not, your mind will play the whole game on replay.
Was it a play that you could have made?
It is in a moment that you could have done something different.
Had you put in one more rep, had you been a little bit stronger,
did you get overpowered by someone?
Did you underestimate the opponent?
Why did you lose?
Every morning, every day of alive,
every day of our lives we have choices to make you have the choice to stay in bed to say forget
it i'm not going to work out today or forget it i'm not going to work hard today you always have a
choice every single day of your life so meant the right decision you were born to do something
great with your life you're supposed to do something special and you're gonna i can promise you
have all the potential in the world within you and i know the rest of the world is probably
telling you constantly to be average, to be ordinary.
You know, there's different haters you have in your life.
There's people who put you in your box.
There's people who overlook you that make you feel invisible.
You're not even who you've already been in your life.
Your past has not equal your future.
Your present does not equal your future.
And I just want to remind you officially that you can do something great with your life
and that you're destined to do something great with your life
and that you are born for a reason.
So important that you know that, that you hear that for me today.
And that you begin to believe it about yourself.
Because if you don't believe that about yourself,
there's no chance it's going to happen.
You can find an excuse of why you lost.
Or you can call it a lesson.
Instead of saying, I lost, start saying, I've got a lesson today.
I learned today.
When I see them again, they will see just how valuable that lesson was.
We don't walk away from losses.
We learn from them.
Fear of failure and the, the, the, the, the, the,
the attractiveness of playing it safe in life to draw you in you can't get out of life a lot you've got
to die of leave here you're holding on to something you need to hold them on to an addiction that's
holding you back or you're holding on to a habit that you refuse to let go there's an individual
that's very close to you it could be family member it could be in a relationship it could be one of
your closest friends you should have made that decision a long time ago but that's when your
feelings are stronger than your mind your mind has to be stronger than the feelings because that's what the
Darkside requires you to do. That's what winning requires, who requires you to make decisions,
not suggestions. And when you make decisions, you have to answer the hard question. These days,
people are willing to make decisions. They want others to make decisions for them because when
others make decisions for you, you always have an out. You can blame that person, you'll blame that
individual. This lifestyle, it's not for everyone. It's extremely intense. But I'm telling you,
this is what the most successful individuals, they all go through this, not just once,
numerous, numerous times.
I need to protect your dreams.
I need to protect your vision.
It's yours.
And the things that we live that's in our soul,
the things that give us energy,
it multiplies our life.
But some of us, we've allowed opinions.
We allow people that don't know what's best for us
and tell us how to live our life.
We allow people to put them on us.
We allow people to project their limitations on us,
and we start to live a limited life.
At some point, you stop believing.
At some point, you stop protecting your vision.
At some point you stop protecting your dreams and you start to live the life that
opinions created you for you.
You start to live a life that circumstances created for you, but you didn't live the life
and you're not living the life that God created for you.
Don't allow circumstances to lie to you.
Don't allow opinions to lot of you.
Don't allow time to lie to you.
We take notes about what was the difference between winning and losing.
Was it an edge of effort?
Was it an ounce of sweat?
Was it a matter of heart?
And if it was, the pain you felt when you found that lost, the moment you thought about how that felt about losing, of the embarrassment, the frustration, the disappointment.
If I lose on a day, I don't lose my work.
My value is guaranteed.
I have a spark of divinity given to me by God.
I don't lose that if I lose a gang.
I don't lose that if I lose a job.
I don't lose any of those things.
I only lost in this moment.
It says we have no right to ask when a sorrow comes, why did this happen to me?
Unless we ask the same question for every joy that comes our way.
We have no right to ask when a sorrow comes.
Why did this happen to me?
Unless we ask the same question when joy comes out.
Because I believe, like, when you really trying to accomplish something or become something different,
there's supposed to be challenges present.
It's supposed to be opposition present.
It's supposed to be adversity present when you really trying to become something different
Every next level of my life demands a new version of me. It's supposed to be challenges present
Right like if you just can become the same person over and over and over because no obstacles
No opposite you ain't growing you're regressing right I firmly believe in the thought process every single day you need to become better or you becoming worse
Same with our lives if we're doing something great with our life it's gonna take us
six months to a year to see the positive results.
And so don't let your ego get in the way of saying,
man, I'm doing all this stuff when it's not working.
There's a delayed gratification coming.
The same time, if you are winning right now,
don't stop doing the things that got you where you are
because you're only 90 to 120 days away from a setback.
This is how the ego gets up.
Become unapologetic of who fuck you are in your life.
If you get after it and you're a vobucker,
Get after it. You gotta make yourself better than what you think you are.
You look that requires is people not understand you, not know you, not get you at all.
Look at you like you're off, look at you like you're off, look at you like you've a problem.
You unapologetic?
How you bounce back will tell you just how tall you can one day stand.
There is no shame in for it, for just man will fall seven.
but he will rise up on the eighth the thing that people misunderstand about success is they're
looking for the easiest way to get that when everybody goes five easy steps 10 steps to
greatness those steps for success they're infinite you cannot count them it doesn't matter how long
you've been doing it those steps are constantly shifting you don't know if they're there
Sometimes you have to trust that the next step is going to be there when you can't even see it.
And sometimes when you step on that step, you go right into quicksand.
Then you've got to be able to pull yourself back out of it again.
So everybody's looking for these steps and there are no steps.
Those steps never, never end.
And you just can't climb steps.
Sometimes you've got to crawl up with those steps.
And you finally get to the top and everything shift.
It's not about external validation.
It's about your relationship to yourself.
you know and you know when your head hits the pillow at night and when you wake up in the morning
what that relationship looks like and if that's missing something and perhaps that's a little
nudge or a call to action that you need to change things up a little bit it's always going to be
the sticking point and a lot of people like i see you know they'll quit because it got hard
or just because something isn't coming to them right away they'll let up a little bit
Kobe, he's known for saying something that was quite profound.
He said, you have to jump on what you love, what you do every day.
You have to love what you do every day,
because those days that are hard, those days that suck,
that's where the magic is.
You go do it and you get your work in anyway.
Because that's where you're going to find out who you are.
That's where things are going to continue to happen.
And you have to just love putting in the daily work
because that's another token in the bank, if you will.
You're showing up, you know, striving towards your goal.
When people get the challenges, like, stop, you know, it's not just going to come to you.
But you have to just stick with it.
You have to really, really believe in what you're doing.
And you have to have faith that it's going to work out.
But you've got to keep putting to work in it because if you don't, it's not going to come to you.
You know, going to fall in your life.
And sometimes when you know that, all right, I'm going through.
right now, this is Tom. Let's just take an inch forward. Let's go an inch forward today. That'll be
better than going back. You don't want to go back, but I think sometimes just, man, just knowing
that it's going to be a challenge. I think sometimes that's a good thing to know. We know,
okay, I want to, this is my goal. Boy, it's going to be a lot of objects in there. So let me get
a shake. Let me get a shake with my mind and my body to be able to navigate to get to where I need
to get to.
of the world allowed and you die a lot in my friend.
And you've got to be on this journey of growth for yourself.
It can't be contingent on another person.
And I think a lot of people who are in pain or are looking for some grounding,
often look to that other person.
If I date that person, then I'm going to be okay.
It's never the case.
Like, you've got to be okay with yourself in order to attract that person,
you know, into your life to begin with.
I don't know how you can compel that in somebody.
They've got to figure that out for themselves.
Thinking of myself as the person who's just good enough to recognize that other people are better,
stop doing it.
And now start thinking relentlessly about acquiring your skills.
That's it.
Like, whatever.
Be inspired by people that are better than you.
Great.
That's amazing.
But don't sit there and lament, which is what I used to do, that you're not as good as them.
Find out how close can you get?
most time we live a life of have to do
I have to study I have to work
I have to do this and I have to do that
I have to have to have to where did the love to go
we just end up living a life of have to
and I forgot about our own sex
by subscribing to the pressures that come from all fronts
in our lives we've forgotten to live our own lives
we don't have time to unwind
we don't have time to spend
with our own selves. We don't have time to be with nature and take a deep breath and just relish
the crispness of the air. We don't have to time to do all of that. And the pressures are so high
and the pace is so fast, we just don't have time for ourselves, ladies in general. We are just so
extentially in crisis all the time and I just wonder if this life wasn't meant to be full of love
and joy and happiness.
I just think we're getting it a little bit wrong.
So life is harm.
None of us get out of here unscathed.
It is hard.
I'm not a poly and a minimalist on the things that causes suffering.
If you don't fix yourself with limited identities,
if you do not compare yourself with anything,
if you explore and not, see, if you want this tree to grow to this thing,
that's why I said not the fruit, root.
If you count the fruits, maybe that tree is bearing more,
powerful than this one. That's not the point. You nurture the root. The fullest possible
nurture if you give to the root. What it has to become, it will become. A blade of grass
cannot become a tree. But is it not wonderful?
So I think success is a funny thing, which is we all seem to pursue it, but we don't know how to measure it or actually how to define it.
So how do you pursue something that you can't measure?
I think we must all stop measuring promotions, salaries and these things.
but rather measure the momentum of your career.
Does my career have momentum?
Can I see it moving in the right direction?
Can I see it gathering moss?
You know?
Can I see that it's becoming easier for me
to keep the momentum?
It's becoming easier for me to grow the size of this thing.
It's requiring less effort.
That's the thing we need to measure.
That's the thing we need to be cognizant of,
which is the momentum of our career,
is not just the markers that we think define our success.
We snap, we react at the drop of our hair.
drop of a hand just because we are out of balance. People who have a balanced life know how to
handle depression. People whose lives are not balanced sink under pressure. What have I found that
you do about terrible things? Generally you don't run from them, especially if they're not
avoidable in the future. Generally you stand, confront, decompose, understand, and
adapt. But just because you generally do that, and it's the best bet, doesn't mean it's definitely
going to work. It's just the best shot you have at it. You know, it'd be lovely if something
always worked. But if something always worked, people would never get sick and die. And we do
all the time. So we do our best, but that doesn't mean that that always works, but it's still
the best that can be done. It's still the alternatives. So it's very important for us to have
reasons to be excited about life. Like when you wake up in the morning, it can't just be about
problems. Everything that's life must happen to you. Have you come here to avoid life or have you
come here to experience life? Experience life. All the different dimensions of what this life holds.
What is your compassion for the world? Like what problem do you want to solve?
I often people will say there's so many things I can do,
there's so many things that I'm like,
my question is not what causes you the greatest joy,
since my question is, what causes you the greatest pain?
Someone out there who's not living to their potential,
and I think we're better people,
we're better partners, and we're better parents
when we live to our potential.
All of us have kind of an identity for ourselves,
a way I'm defining ourselves,
and human beings don't usually stray from that.
And it's all consistent with the fact that human beings,
Our strongest drive is the need to stay consistent with how we define ourselves.
That's just a story.
And if you tell yourself a story long enough, you start to believe it.
And when you believe it, you act like it.
He said in every situation, between the situation and your response, there's a space.
It might only be a millisecond.
But in that space, you have the ability to choose, or you're going to react or respond.
When you react, whatever you're reacting to is in control of you.
Whether it's another person, a condition or a circumstance.
When you respond to the same thing, you stay in the cook.
When perfectionism hinders your ability to have joy to pursue something
because you're fair or failure or you're never good enough
or you can't relish your accomplishment, it becomes maladaptive.
A battlefield that goes on in your mind all the time.
the time and there's bombs that are exploding all the time fear anxiety I'm not good
enough and a lot of times you're making those bombs explode and or somebody else
is making those bombs explode right you have to take control of that space to
transform your life you want to do it in two minutes so is that what your life is
worth so if your life is worthwhile is it not important that we master certain
amount of time and energy rather than looking for this stupid stuff of one mantra with which
I will transform my life.
It will not happen like that.
That's the reason why most people have remained the way they have remained because they've
not immersed it in their well-being.
The space between our ears, we don't have control over it.
A lot of other people have set shopping.
They're like they've like taken the most expensive real estate in the world.
You gotta make sure you control.
that battlefield that's going on, it's your space, it's your mind.
You're going to have negative thoughts.
You are.
Just changing your thought is not going to change your action.
It may change your perspective, but you still have to continue to push forward.
And I don't think that we're born in blank slates, but we are so close to that.
To worry about where your limits are is to miss how much you can improve.
So focus on how much you can improve.
There's an amazing quote by Alexander Soljanitsyn.
And what he said was,
the line between good and evil runs through every human heart.
To me, it's not about good and evil.
To me, it's about maliability.
That's a statement of how shapeable we are.
Now, here's the terrifying thing about how we get shaped.
It happens when you're young.
You get all these things that come to you
that seem to be simply true.
I believed that the human mind couldn't change.
I believed that it was fixed.
I believed that my talent and intelligence
were just what they were.
And one of my favorite quotes of all time
is from Albert Einstein,
and he said the most important decision
any human being has to make
is whether they live in a friendly or a hostile universe.
Decision, the most important decision
anyone has to make because neither of those two states is empirically true but either
will immediately appear true once you decide to believe it so once you decide to
believe yo the world is working for me this is happening for me it's not happening
to me once you believe that you start looking for the ways in which that was
powerful how is the worst thing that ever happened to me actually secretly the best
thing that's ever happened to me you could be one of any countless identities that
see in the world. But we don't because each of these places carries with a value system,
a belief system, things that are unique to that group that you grow up in, what your parents
tell you about your family, about you, what it means to be you, what you learn in schools,
what you see in the media, all of that stuff is shaping how you view yourself and how you view
the world. But it's happening insidiously because it is so invisible. People don't realize
that they are choices. Now once you reframe all of this, these are things that I'm choosing
to believe. And once you realize you can choose to believe something new and thusly get a
different result, everything changes. Everything is happening to you is God is processing.
Every difficult moment you're having, he just processing. That's all he doing. Everything you're going
through is preparing you for what you ask God for. And if you need to be tough when you get to
where you're going, then he's going tough at you. If you got to be more caring along the way,
He'll let you have some trials coming your way that's going to have to produce that in you.
How do I deal with setbacks, failures, delays, defeats, or other disasters?
I actually have a fairly simple way of dealing with these situations summed up in one word.
That when things are going bad, there's going to be some good that will come from it.
Didn't get the job you wanted? Good. Go out, gain more experience, build a little.
Build a better resume.
Got injured?
Good.
Needed a break from training.
Got beat?
Good.
We learned.
Unexpected problems?
Good.
We have an opportunity to figure out a solution.
Most people in life quit before the candy comes out.
They quit before the candy comes out of their business, their body, their relationships,
not knowing they're much closer to the dream than they think they are, but the progress is invisible.
You're going to keep tips.
that pinata in your life. Keep taking swakes. One more swing, one more sway, one more
sway, knowing you're making a visible progress. Remember when I said you're neglecting your
kids when you're not chasing your dreams and your potential? You're actually neglecting
you. You're neglecting your spirit. You're neglecting your soul. You're neglecting the very
reason you were born. Nothing makes me more proud than to see someone chasing their potential,
chasing that happiness, chasing that bliss. I don't care if a candy's come out yet.
Care did he swing?
But things are going bad, don't get all bummed out, don't get startled, don't get frustrated.
No.
Just look at the issue and say good.
You raise your hand and said, this is my income, this is my dream, this is my goal.
When you raise your hand and said, this is it, don't you understand that you can operate at least one year?
So make that become a reality?
You can't get to that dream on 70.
on 70. You can't get to that dream on 60. Can't get to that dream waking up at 6 or 7 o'clock.
Because the truth is, y'all, like, I don't care how great life is for you. I don't care how rich you are.
I don't care how popular you are. I don't care what kind of job you have. You know, I don't care
what race you are. The thing that brings us all together is not always success, right? It's not success.
It's struggle.
Like, I don't care who you are.
If you're going through this human experience,
you're going to experience struggle.
You're going to experience hard times.
You're going to experience setback.
You're going to experience loss.
You're going to experience depression.
Just as well as we have our ups, we're going to have our downs.
And so when I'm going through these moments,
I love to disconnect.
And I disconnect from the world.
Because some of us, we're so connected to everything
that we have been connected to our soul.
We haven't connected to our peace because we're so connected to requests.
We're so connected to comparing our life.
We're so connected to all these outside things that we ignore our internal soul.
You constantly remind yourself, after every defeat, after every setback, every time you get knocked down,
I've got to say, if life knocks you down, try and land on your back, because if you can look up, you can get up.
See, a lot of people because of failure, they stop, they stop believing.
Let me share something with you.
You will fail your way.
to success. Yes. You will fail your way to success. It doesn't matter how many times you fail. It doesn't
matter how many times people tell you that you can't do it. It doesn't matter if you don't have a dime in
that bed. You will fail your way to success. It's so often the easy path. The easy path it calls to us
to be weak for that moment, to break down for that moment, except three out, but for
focus on the solution. Take that issue, take that setback, take that problem and turn it into
something good. Go forward. If you can say the word good, then guess what? It means you're
still alive. It means you're still breathing. And if you're still breathing, that means you've
still got some fight left in you. So get up, dust off.
reload, recalibrate, re-engage, and go out on the attack.
There are going to be plenty of times in your life when you're not happy.
There might be years.
And so it's a shallow boat in a very rough ocean.
And it's based upon a misconceptualization.
Happiness is something that descends upon you.
Everyone knows that.
You know, it comes upon you suddenly.
suddenly and then you should be grateful for it because there's there's plenty of
suffering and if you happen to be happy well wonderful enjoy it be grateful for
that you will fail your way to greatness that most people allow their
fear of failure 80% allow their fear of failure to our way their desire to
succeed when you're willing to fail again and again and again when you
make up your mind to become unstoppable, when you make up your mind to become a no matter what person,
then that will then give birth to a part of yourself that you don't know right now.
The alarm goes off. You have a choice. I can either sit there and continue to dream or I can get up and chase down those dreams.
Those of us who are willing to chase down your dreams know to put your feet on the floor and get going.
that the longer I stay there in the comfort of my bed, I will let days go by that I cannot reclaim.
Well, I'm full of strength, while I'm full of goals and aspirations, well, I have the will to do it.
If I slack off now, I'll lack off later.
I will lack of everything that I wanted, of everything I dreamed up.
You see, most people don't realize that your greatest success will come right behind your greatest failures.
You will lay there and wallow and be discouraged and be depressed.
and it's natural to be down.
You can go through ups and doubts.
Life is a roller coaster.
But you're not on a roller coaster.
You're on a path.
It's really heavy when you start to look at your life,
to your health, family, your relationships,
and you look at all those things that are messed up
in all those areas.
And when you say all those things,
all those problems in my business, my life, my health,
all those things are my fault,
that's really a heavy weight to bear.
But it's also extremely liberating,
because if it's all your fault, you're the one that can fix it.
Anytime you're feeling upset of any sort
is the result of the meaning you associate to an expectation.
Afraid about tomorrow, because of how they see themselves,
because of what they feel that they deserve,
because of what they feel that they can create for themselves,
because these people have decided,
as they look at the future, as they look at themselves,
there's a way where there's a will, there's a way for me.
There's a way for me to begin to create a way out of no way.
And when you have that kind of consciousness, when you have that kind of spirit, nothing can stop you.
Those of you in this room, you're average.
You have no business being average.
But now you look, I'm not even upset that you're avid.
But now you justify this.
Like you've come up with these great reasons of why you can't wake up at three o'clock in the morning.
It's you built for it.
You still here.
Despite everything that you went through, everything that you're going through, and everything you're going to go through, you are still here.
You are built for.
That struggle that's coming against you, you are built for it.
Those people that turn your back on you, you are built for it.
That person that walked out in your life, you are built for it.
That job that's not appreciating you, you are built for it.
The grind that you're going on trying to start your business, been an entrepreneur, and it's tough.
You are built for it.
And I want every one of you to know that, man.
You got a strength inside of you that's great than anything.
that comes against you and you gotta truly believe that we gotta stop running we gotta stop
hiding we gotta stop folding when times get hard of course i get worn down of course i get frustrated
with stuff of course things don't always go my way but what do i do when those things happen
i keep going because worn down is an illustration is not gonna kill me
And the things that don't go my way, they just turn into targets that I'm going to attack harder.
And when I do, come up short, it's okay.
Because I just learned one more thing that's going to get me over the top.
Get there if you don't give up.
This is why we have to have an idea or plan or purpose.
And once it is placed in your mind, you've got to put that thing in repetitious mode.
like I gotta do reps to get there. I've got to remind myself daily. I've got to lift
day. I've got to run another mile. I gotta believe when no one else believes in me. I got to get up and go.
And once I get my get up and go, everything that I want it comes closer.
You are built for, yes, sometimes seasons are favorable. But don't you ever forget this truth?
You are highly fatal.
Step you take towards your aspirations is how that you
how you arrive to their destination called success.
You will arrive there, and then you'll look at it and say,
if I knew it would be this easy,
I would have started long ago.
What would your life be like as you look toward the future?
If you decided I'm not going to allow my fears to stop me,
what would your life be like?
What would your future be like if you decided
to want that which you desire so strongly
that it prepares you pass your fears,
that you experience the fear as one book says,
feel the fear and do it anyway.
What would your life be like?
And I'm saying to you that all of us
who have been entombed by fear
have the capacity to resurrect ourselves.
The truth is, if you start chasing down,
your goals it will come to you and then you will realize what those of us who
have made those positive steps have I should have dreamed bigger can't
none stop you it's up the things you give permission to don't be relaxed get
and go again take a deep breath catch that second win it is not about stopping at
age 50 it's not stopping at 20 it's not stopping because it's your last senior game
You don't graduate from life.
You elevate in life.
If I've done here at this law, then let me test myself in the pros.
You see, you have to believe that the next level is available for you.
If it ends athletically, take that competitive spirit into your business.
You put that into your relationship.
You put that into everything that you desire to be and everything you want, and it will come.
That's why you wake up.
That's why you chase down goals and that's why you become legendary.
When we wake up as often a thought, it's time to do with beasthood.
And for most of us, we had fought that means go full tilt at all times in chase.
But like a lion that's chasing down his last meal, if you just give chase to everything,
you will wear out the energy reserve and find yourself frustrated.
You must be a beast, but that beast must also.
transformed to the right beach at the right bone.
When you're waking up every morning by yourself
and you're fucking getting after it by yourself
and it's the hidden work.
They don't see them up, man, what they deal with
every fucking day.
All those mornings that you don't want to get up
and look at it as like a rock
and you find this fucking rock and that rock is you.
And every day you fight not wanting to get up
and you do anyway, you chip another piece off that rock
and every day you fucking eat the right foods
and every day you go to train,
you train hard and hard and hard and hard and hard.
and you get up earlier and all these things you do to start forming yourself you're chipping another
fucking piece of that rock up before you know it he has this beautiful f f f f f-fucking piece of
artwork that you built i'm wasting the pain stop going through breakups and not learning the lesson
i'm tired of making dumb decisions you've got to stop wasting your pain and you got to learn from
what you have been through if you want to last you must sometimes be the fox and plan off your day and think
about a strategy and how am I going to win even if I take a loss in remolment it's a
lesson I can live and keep learning and applied it toward a victory when most
people have thought that I should have given up you see there's more to you than
just being beats you must be calculating you must be planned you must be diligent
you must set a plan, you must set a course of action.
We know you got the talent and the skill set, skill set to succeed.
Oftentimes a person has talent, skill set, ability to succeed.
That's great.
But do you have the guts to fail?
From consistent, I give myself the opportunity to be exception.
I feel as if it's a lot of exceptional people that are not consistent.
And I want you to understand that the reason most likely that you did achieve what it is
that you wanted to achieve, it's because you don't truly believe that you have it in you
to achieve these things. You see them as special. You see the people who accomplish these things
as special. But what I need you to understand and what I want you to understand moving into the
next year is that all of these people that you observe living a better life than you, in your
opinion, all of these people you admire, all of these people that you look up to, all of them,
Every single one of them is no different on the inside than you are.
Because worn down isn't beaten.
The things that don't go my way, they just turn into targets that I'm going to attack harder.
This is yours.
You're the captain.
You're the master.
You're the foreman.
You're the general.
You're the head.
Don't give control of this.
to nobody.
So when I don't see the point, and I feel like my life is being dismantled, could it be that
God's preparation comes packaged as pain?
And maybe if you could see it that way, it would it take the pain away, but it would give
the pain a purpose?
If you could see what you've been calling a failure, really wasn't a failure.
It was a foundation.
You cannot be focused on what was when you want to chase down, what can be.
And when you chase down what can be, you enjoyed the journey because this is the reward,
not the destination.
Because the destination, if it were just given for you, when you've been faced down, when
you felt like you should have given up or could have given up, and you get back up and you
get back up and you're chased out everything that was being held back for you and you believe
that you can overcome and you have opponents that try to stop you, but then you get up and you go
after that affording. And once you've conquered them, and you've overcome those demons, those fears,
those frustrations that once held you back. You are the perfect version of you already.
You are the version of you that other people will love. All you have to do is give yourself
permission to go be it. And that's going to require you to get uncomfortable. That's
going to require you to put yourself out there. People aren't going to get it until
they can get it. And you have it in you. I said my challenge is this. Sometimes as
people, an individual can be so arrogant and they can live their lives and feel as if,
or when a challenge arises, when opposition arises, when change arises, when uncertainty
here rises, I'll just be ready for it and now rise to their case.
And I think we all know in life you don't rise to their occasion, you revert back to your
train.
Meaning the individual that you were prior to the opposition, prior to the challenge, prior
to the uncertainty, that is the individual that's going to show up in the midst of it
every single time.
The coach said that you judge the true character-cern caliber of a person, not by where they
stand in time to come from and convenient.
be judged the true character and caliber of a person
by what is staying in time of the challenge and controversy
it means moan because of what it costs you
and what it costs you something
it has a price that cannot be paid
by immediately given
it's every day that you are the beast moan
but the mold beast must be altered based on the situation
Courage is the strength to stand up when it's easier to just fall down and lose hope.
Courage is the conviction to explore a new horizon, when it was easier to just believe what you've been told about life.
Courage is the desire to maintain your integrity when everyone else would simply look the other way.
Courage is the feeling that you can be happy and feel alive and keep moving forward when it's easier to feel sorry for us and just stay.
and just staying good.
Winners, champions do not value motivation at all.
I never think do I feel like doing this
is how do I get done regardless of how I feel
because that's where the champions live.
If you only fucking execute when you feel like it
or the stars are aligned, you can only execute
when you feel like executing,
you will fucking lose.
100 times out of 100.
I mean, being in the military does not make you a disciplined person.
Being from a disciplined family does not make you a disciplined person.
Being in a disciplined group does not make you a disciplined person.
What makes you a disciplined person is choosing to be disciplined.
Stop doing the things that you know are wrong,
that you could stop doing.
I want you to think about those goals.
I want you to taste them.
I want you to be, I want you to internalize it.
I'm telling you to dream your dream because I want you to sell it.
I want you to taste it.
I want you to know how close.
I want you just like when the weather is changing.
You can feel it.
I want you to be able to feel when you're getting closer to it and closer to it.
But more importantly, I want you to know when you dream your dream that there are other people who are dreaming the exact same dream.
And now I ask you this question, what do you do when a thousand other people want exactly what you want?
What if you're not the only one that wants what you want?
One of there are thousands of other people who want what you want.
You have to outwork them.
You got to outbrime them.
You've got to get up earlier.
You've got to stay up later.
You've got to execute and you've got to go from 70.
To 120.
Get up.
Go.
Fight on.
Turch is the will to shape our world.
into what it can be when it's easier to simply say that someone else can do.
As he encourages, it's recognition that none of us are perfect.
And when it's easier to simply live a life criticizing others
for what they haven't done or what they could have done or what they should have done.
But courage is the power to step forward and to lead.
You're separating from self-doubt while others are intimidated by your full potential.
If your past self could see where you're at today, think of how impressed they would be.
One of the greatest ways you can overcome self-doubt is to realize how far you've come.
Maybe you're not exactly where you want to be, but you're a lot better than where you were.
And the key is to wake up every single day, put one foot in front of the other, keep moving and keep growing.
You must understand that motivation is for average.
people. Motivation is for people that lose more than they win. Discipline is where everybody
who's ever achieved anything great that you admire, that is what they value. That's what they
strive for. That's the skill that they make investments in. And that's why their wives look so great
that you want something like that for yourself. You need to know it. You need to take that God
that's sitting there with you and those precious souls that have passed that have always believed
and you carry them with you everywhere. They're with you anyway. Acknowledge them.
If you don't believe that, honor them. Honor God. Honor these people who believe in you
with your magnificent life. Honor them. Don't give in the lack of belief, lack of confidence.
Don't ever do that again. You were made to do something great. You're special. You've made the
image of God. Something awesome is supposed to happen for you. And those you that have made something awesome happen,
Something even more awesome is supposed to happen for you.
Don't be afraid to reinvent yourself, and don't be afraid to be different, man.
You ain't got to fit in the crowd.
Why are you following everybody than you were clearly meant to me?
You can turn your life around because it ain't never too late.
Do not take the easy way out.
Do not give up based on instinct.
Destroy that instinct.
This is the instinct that says you've had enough.
You've given it your best shot.
You can stand down, you can back off, you can take a knee.
This is the instinct that says, you can rest now.
Do not listen.
Because that instinct is a liar and wants to bring you down.
You see, this instinct is a defense mechanism for your ego.
It gives you an out, a place to run to, a place of sympathy, an amnesty where all can be forgiven.
Where failures gather together in comfort and drown their sorrows in lies and deception.
It occurs of the foundation.
And when you have that foundation, it is solid.
It is the luck that will not roll.
Freedom of your mind, of your body, and of your soul.
You ever want to truly be free.
You have to stand up and have courage.
Because when you have that,
that ingredient of life that makes you stand,
out of being different than what the crowd is, you will become a leader in that crowd.
And with leadership comes responsibilities, and when you set forth that plan in life to become
everything that you were born to be, you will give people the inspiration that they can do it as well.
But until they see it in, they don't know it's possible.
Do it as meaningful, not what is expedient, because meaning is an instinct.
meaning is an instinct. The meaning is the instinct that guides you in life across the totality of life, right?
What's expedient? That's what you might want to do right now in an impulsive sense, right?
Because you're driven forward by, oh, anger or anxiety, or frustration, or disappointment, or despair,
some sort of one-eyed motivational monster that's got you in its grip that really isn't considering everything at once, right?
Like considering your life tomorrow or your life next week, or maybe your, maybe even your well-being,
an hour from now. And the instinct for meaning seems to be a consequence of the
integration of all of those underlying motivations and emotions with social
being and then the manifestation of something like the proper pathway forward.
You need that because you need to know how to move forward in life.
There is always something you can do differently. And once you understand that you
can always make a different choice and get a different reaction and that's the power
in your life. That's the power that you have.
It's no matter what's going on, you can choose to think differently, believe differently, see
differently. All of those things are a choice. Read, man's search for meaning by Victor
Frankl. That if you have a why, you can survive almost any how.
I can't afford to quit because I have a family doing on me. I got a word that depends on
me. I understand that I'm fighting for. Do you? What's you fighting for? What you're living for?
What you're doing it for?
For some re-tweets on Twitter?
Are you doing it for something different?
Are you doing it for legacy?
Because regardless, legacy is left.
Whether you want to leave it or not,
either it's going to be left in the way you don't want to leave it
or it's going to be left in the way you want to leave it.
Legacy is left regardless, but you right now have the chance.
Here's the problem I find most people have.
They judge themselves to the lens of a moment.
They fail at something.
They miss the honor.
club. They don't close that deal they thought they were going to. They embarrass themselves.
They flubbed something. And they think that defines who they are. But I'm telling you right
now, you're not defined by who you are. You're defined by who you want to become.
It's preparing you for what you ask God for. You just got to quit trippet while you're in the process.
When you see people bear their suffering nobly, there's nothing in that but good. And then when
You'll see people take on more responsibility and decide that they're going to aim up and confront their suffering honestly and forthrightly that their lives get better and the lives of people around them get better too.
And so that's very strange as well because it also means that the pathway to less suffering is through suffering.
It is the thing that allows you to go the extra distance.
To dig a little deeper, to push a little harder.
to get after it.
And it actually takes two opposing forces to bring it to life.
It takes both emotion and logic to reach your maximum potential,
to really give everything you have to go beyond your limits.
The process is necessary.
You may not see it now, but when it gets you on the other side of it,
you're going to see exactly why it went that way.
And you're going to be okay with it.
The varsity caused some cast a break and other cast to break record
Based upon what you made out of.
The most important step we'll ever take in life is our next one.
The lava is going to have feet stuck in concrete.
We get a feet stuck in concrete if we're afraid.
Freak and we're afraid to make enemies.
We're afraid's views on our mind.
Knowledge of brain, could all out you think it.
One thing in life, we're going to always have haters.
Embrace them. Shut the fucking noise out.
Embrace the fact that people don't like you.
Me should do something.
Stay hard.
Because when you think it's the beginning, you behave differently than the end.
The meaning we associate to things controls our entire lives.
It's not that your mother or father died that's given you suffering.
Certainly that's painful.
It's the meaning you think it shouldn't have happened.
And we take control the meaning.
It's the only thing we can control our lives.
We can't control events.
When it just doesn't make any logical sense to go on, that's when you use your emotion, your anger, your frustration, your fear to push further, to push you to say one thing.
I don't stop.
Nobody's going to believe in it until you've already done.
Nobody's going to come and celebrate Ricky until you've already gone.
The work is going to come before the belief.
When your feelings are screaming that you have had enough, when you think you are going to break emotionally,
override that emotion with concrete logic and willpower that says one thing.
Fight weak emotions with the power of logic.
Fight the weakness of logic with the power of emotion.
I don't.
I said loving yourself is the most powerful thing we can do.
then everything flows.
Everything flows beautifully.
I'm not talking about vanity or arrogance,
because that is not love, that's always fear.
I'm talking about just really respecting and appreciating
this incredible, magnificent being that we are.
They're never scared to let people know how they feel.
They live in the moment,
and they're filled with courage,
and they're wonderful, and we were all like that.
I've got to remember that you were filled with courage and you were full of love and you adored yourself when you were very little.
And say, in spite of this, I'm in control here.
I'm not going to let this get me down. I'm not going to let this destroy me.
I'm coming back and I'll be stronger and better because of it.
You have got to make a declaration that this is what you stand for.
You're standing up for your dreams.
You're standing up for peace of mind.
You're standing up for health.
If you capture more life, then you will see you have more grace.
The depth, dimension, and scope of your life is determined by how much life you capture within you.
If you have not captured substantial life within you, you will live a small life.
That's how it is.
If you are willing to see that always life.
God is speaking to you, which is what all of our jobs are.
Your number one job is to become more of yourself
and to grow yourself into the best of yourself.
We actually have a biological instinct for meaning
that orientes us in the world,
and that instinct manifests itself
when we place ourselves in a position in the world
where we're competent, where what we're doing is working,
so that we're not too terrified and anxious,
but also while we're simultaneously advancing ourselves
and improving our ability to cope with the world.
So for example, if you watch an athlete, a high-level athlete,
who's at the peak of his or her performance,
you see someone who's extraordinarily practiced at what they're doing
and has developed the expertise necessary to do it.
But then you also see them push themselves on that developmental edge
to make themselves just that much better.
And that function is associated with an intrinsic sense of meaning.
And whenever you see anyone manifest that, you are automatically drawn to it.
You see that when an actor pushes him or herself beyond their limits.
You see that when someone speaks extemporaneously and manages it extraordinarily well.
And I'm trying to help people understand that this meaning is a true phenomenon.
It's not a secondary thing.
and also to point out that most of the time that meaning is associated with the adoption of responsibility.
The parameter, the principle, the value, the ethic that actually helps us continue with perseverance and patience is hope.
Hope is that one element that can keep us going.
The worst thing to happen in life is to lose hope and be hopeless.
So if you're sitting there waiting for our turn to come, hope against hope.
One day, I will also have my time and my place.
When, how, we do not know, because these are factors that are completely beyond our control.
See, we look at everything about, oh, what can I learn?
can I learn and actually half of learning in my opinion is really unlearning everyone
already has the answer inside of them you're not really learning anything new you're
just trying to get rid of all the bad lessons you learned and everyone has that
so it's not so much about like oh is this person going from here to here it's not
really that it's like it's someone going from here to here and for me one of the
ways I've always thought about is you can't take the world further than where
you visited internally so for me every person that were meeting
already has that journey right there and all you're asking them to do is look
inwards as opposed to outwards and I think it's something nice for us to know
so we don't judge and label people we don't walk around and take all those are
spiritual people those are not spiritual people because yeah we're all we're all
spiritual people and it's just that some are covered it's like the sun's always
out but often it's covered with the clouds really here a bit more lately but
some it's the sun is always out it's just get covered by the
clouds and that's us. We've just been covered and we get covered by those clouds and they cloud
our identity, they cloud our perception. So all we're doing for ourselves and others is clearing
out the clouds. And the more we do that for ourselves, the more we can do it for others,
and the more we do it for others, and the more we do it for ourselves. And that is what the law
of thinking is. When you learn how it works, miracles happen. Most people, their misery is derived.
by their inability to sit quietly in a room by themselves.
You know how many people are frightened of their own company?
You are your own competition, actually.
Nobody is your competition.
We have to compete with ourselves every single moment,
every single day to get better than ourselves.
When you're prepared, there is no fear.
Because even if you've walked out,
Even if you've walked out of something and you feel like you've failed at it,
your preparation is so strong that you're going to take that failure
and turn it into the outcome you desire.
You have flow within you.
You have genius within you.
Most of us are so distracted.
They're so overstimulated.
They're so interrupted.
They don't create the silent spaces where their genius can present them.
We like it or not, there are those who want to size us up.
They will look at our stature, and look at your age, they'll look at your weight, they'll look at your education.
They'll make an assessment based on your strength and size of numbers and what you performed.
When they do that, they made a huge mistake because what they cannot measure is your will.
I believe that everything happens for a reason.
People change so that you can learn to let go.
Things go wrong so that you can learn to appreciate them when they're right.
appreciate them when they're right.
And sometimes good things fall apart
so better things can fall together.
If you want to be great,
you want to be baddest mother, forever at which you do,
you can be misunderstood by everybody.
Because you're going to be so fucking obsessed
and so driven to get there, that's what it takes.
But if you want to go to that edge where people do not like you,
don't understand you, question everything you fucking do,
you've lied.
Doubt is such a strange thing.
It means there'll be times where you succeed,
and there are times that you fail.
So wasting your time, doubting
whether you're going to be successful or not,
is pointless.
It is.
You just put one from the other.
You control what you can't control.
And then you see what the outcomes.
If you win, great.
You're going to have to wake up the next day,
do the journey over again.
If you lose, it sucks.
Look at the wake up the next day and do the journey
all over again anyway.
Victims love being busy.
Leaders love producing results.
Victims love entertainment.
Leaders love education.
Victims are scared of change.
Leaders are inspired by change.
Victims ask what's in it for me.
The great leader asks what's in it for my world.
Conditions will never be perfect.
Things will never align.
There will always be a reason for you to put off
what should be done.
right now for a later time.
When you are misunderstood to the point where people think you're psycho, you're nuts,
and you're this and that, why are you in the fucking gym at 1 o'clock in the fucking morning?
When people don't understand you anymore, you're in that spot of obsession and drive.
And the difference is winners are going to go regardless of what the circumstances are,
and losers are always going to wait until the perfect time.
and you understand that the perfect time will never come.
It's not the size of the dog that's in the fight.
It's the size of the fight that is in the dog.
What they don't realize is that you are more than just your stats.
You are more than your number.
You are more than your age.
You are more than the university you graduated from.
Even if you dropped out your hunger that you have is great.
than what people can measure.
You cannot be sized up by any, but you.
If you feel like you've been weighed measured and you found wanting,
it's because you keep underestimating what it took to make you.
How many people's prayers had to go up to come down and make you?
How many people had the struggle and the dream of having the opportunities that you and I have?
When those bad things happen to people around you, what are you going to do?
How are you going to lead?
Are you going to get angry?
Are you going to let this horrible situation dictate the way you feel and the way you handle it?
What is you need to do in life?
You've got to determine that you are.
sized perfectly for the battle. You are the perfect person. You are the perfect one. Why you?
Because you only have. I don't care if you've got a big man on the left side of you, on the right side of you, you're out there as well.
And there is no one bigger than the person inside of us. You see that person inside of you that wants to get out?
is that little child that had an imagination about if they ever got that aperture.
You have to begin to believe that you are stronger than what they've imagined.
If you want to think that enough to go out and fight for, to work day and night for it,
to give up your time, your peace, and your sleep for it, if all that you dream and scheme is about it,
and life seemed useless and worthless without it, and if the garden is sweat for it and fret for it and plan for it,
and lose all your terror of the opposition for it.
And if you simply go after that thing that you want,
with all of your capacity, strength and sagacity,
faith, hope, and confidence, and stern pertinacity,
and dogged and grim, you besiege and beset it,
but the help of God you'll get it.
And I need you to have the mindset that when they feel you,
I'm talking about when they come up against you,
surprise.
But it shouldn't be a surprise to you
that you were able to push them,
over one through them, get through the yards, knock them down, knock them out, because it was
hard work to make you. It was stuff that you overcome has wiped out others, but it will not
wipe you out. Not you. Because you've been measured day and day out against what you could
be by your darn self. And as a result of it, you become more. Test me. They're winners.
There are losers and there are people who have not discovered how to win.
So then you might ask yourself, well, what's the best antidote to the discomfort of life?
And you might say, well, it's comfort. And I suppose that's what you act out when you swaddle a baby.
But a better antidote is something like adventure to excellence.
That's far better antidote to suffering than the mere absence of suffering.
The latter of success is never crowded at the top.
The reason why it's never crowded at the top, most have a fear of going that high.
You see, if I go that high, I won't be around my friends, I won't be around my family.
And success has a way of separating you from it.
But when you start to try to go higher, you'll find that there are crabs in the bucket.
People want to grab you by your coat tails and pull you down, rather than stand underneath you, you're going to,
stand underneath you and push you high.
One thing about being in dark places, if you had the courage to stay in the long enough,
your eyes will start to adjust to the darkness.
Your body and mind will always adjust to more suffering, to more pain.
If you want to push harder, know this.
Your mind quits way before your body does.
So you have to be willing to go away and see that darkness and find more yourself.
That's your gift.
That's your gift.
Quit running away from the gift.
Your gift will make room for you.
Stop trying to be something.
You ain't gifted at.
It mentions your gift.
What are you gifted at and do that?
Stop tripping.
No more.
No more.
No more excuses.
No more I'll start tomorrow.
No more just this once.
No more accepting the shortfalls of my own will.
No more taking the easy road.
No more bowing down to whatever unhealthy or unproductive thoughts float through my mind.
No.
No more.
No more waiting for the perfect moment and no more indecision and no more lies.
No more weakness.
No more.
Now is the time for strength.
So never give up. Without commitment, you'll never start. But more importantly, without consistency, you'll never finish.
Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship.
You have to fill in the war. You have to be dedicated. You have to give it. You're all. You have to get up before others get up.
You might have to sacrifice sleep on some nights in order to achieve things that others have never thought about doing.
You must think outside the box and then stand on that box and remind folks that they can do it because you get.
There is a roadmap to success and it's narrow and it's hard, but it is God directed and God given.
You cannot do it alone, but if you do it, you will find that there are those who will see you and follow your lead.
And through strength and through will and through unwavering discipline,
I will become what I want to be.
You have got to change the way you think.
It is the whole determining factor of where you go in life.
We are all where we are today because we thought ourselves to this position.
If you don't like the position, think yourself out of it.
You change your attitude.
You change your attitude.
altitude. But what a lot of us do is we talk ourselves right out of it because the first thing
that we do is we ignore our soul and we pay attention to the world. We ignore what our soul is
telling us and we go try to find validation in the world to bring credibility or discredit
what our soul is telling us. Your soul is connected to God. Do you want to live a life of contribution?
Do you want to be a better father? Do you want to have your own business? Are there dreams you
want everybody will say yes but see one shows up in conversation expectation shows up in behavior
we have this thing we talk about we want to be legendary we don't want to be good we don't
want to be great we believe those are superstars they come and go want to be legends we want to
go down in history and whatever we do you have to do the work you've got to hold the line
you've got to make it happen so dig in
Find the discipline. Be the discipline.
And accomplish.
That's it.
The world is waiting for a captain, a leader, for someone to step up and be an example that we can overcome the ghetto, you can overcome failure, you can overcome divorce, and values of businesses,
discovering that your character can be fixed and become someone.
In the moment you become so, you can have to be fixed.
You can help someone.
When you come out of the storm, you won't be the same person that walked into it.
That's what the storm is all about.
When you can't control what's happening until you control how you respond to it,
that's where your power is.
You've just gone through a breakup, and it's the worst thing you've ever been through.
Some of you, you lost your job, and you thought that job was it.
And so all of a sudden you're sitting there and you're thinking, man,
I thought my life was together, now it's in shambles at my feet.
No, it's not.
It's all right.
A blade does not become strong until it's been through the fire.
Everyone sets goals in life.
It's what we do.
But what separates us is that some of them will turn it into a dream that can never come true.
But some of us, the 5% that are willing to go beyond the norm
will turn the dream into it becomes a reality.
And when it finally does come true, you know what we do?
we simply begin to dream other dreams.
Imagination is everything.
It's the preview to life's coming attraction.
So whatever is in your imagination,
God places the life he has for you in your imagination.
Because your imagination is God showing you a preview
of a coming attraction he has for you.
You've got a lot more forge time left.
You've got a lot more hammer blows left.
takes time and embrace the process you say doing a while process life embrace the journey and the
process of life the price of regret is much heavier than the price of discipline you never want to
wake up one day one week one month one year down the road and go shh man I wish I would have
listened to my God I wish I would have done this thing you don't want to live in regret
if there's something you want to get done in work your relationships school whatever it is
do it I don't give a damn where you're from
or whatever, it's about building your own mentality, being your own hero, being the best person
you can be so you're not putting people above you. The worst thing you can ever do in life
is put people above you. Because what happens there is you believe you can't reach that.
You must believe that you're on a level playing field with every person in the world. And that
starts with mentality. It always keeps you in the game, it keeps you in the fight, it keeps you in the battle,
it keeps moving forward.
When you have something you want to do,
if you don't develop the courage
to do that which has been given you to do
and you spend a lot of time going around
trying to convince other people
and trying to get their approval,
what will happen is that you will lose your nerve
and other people will convince you
that what you're doing doesn't have any value
and you'll give up on your dream.
It's an interesting thing about life I've also found.
that if you don't have the courage to act,
sometimes and particularly,
if you have something special to do,
life will move on you.
So the answer is very simple.
After you achieve the goal, do you stop?
No.
You get up and you go again.
Dream bigger, dream wider, dream louder,
dream more affirmative,
dream so that it is so loud that others can hear it
and it wakes them up as well.
Just keep pursuing all your dreams, no matter how wild they may seem, you have to have a goal in life.
And our dreams are that goal.
But it's going to be some things that you're going to hit in life.
I promise you.
It ain't going to matter how much money in the bank.
I promise you.
It ain't going to matter what type of shoes you got on.
I promise you.
It ain't going to matter the square footage of your house.
It ain't going to matter.
I promise you.
If you learn to overcome fear, when you face fear, it leaves you.
Face the thing you fear and it'll leave you.
That's really the secret of it.
In fact, if you hold yourself back because of fear, your life actually comes to a stock
because nothing gets better than it is.
Like when you go to sleep, what do you do?
You pretend to be asleep and then you fall asleep.
Becoming who it is that you want to be is no different.
When you decide, you decide,
who you want to be like today, you have to realize that that's who you were, okay?
And so for you to become who you want to be, you don't just become that.
You have to start behaving as if you are that, and then eventually you will actually materialize
into that.
I said, empty your mind.
Be formless, shadeless, like water.
Don't have time to regret.
We move on.
Because we are acceptable for what we are, not what we think we should be.
Realizing that even if you failed, you've had divorces, you've had breakups,
you've had separation of a job, you've had injuries, you've had health issues.
But now that you've battled back, and even if you lost absolutely everything,
you have all those experiences now behind your back.
And that is the thing that will push you forward.
That and your trust and faith that God will never give you more.
than what you can handle.
And now that you have a handle on those things,
you put a handle on your dreams.
Grab them and bring them into focus.
Faith is the substance of things hopeful
and the evidence of things not seen.
Your imagination is the evidence of things not seen.
The problem with your imagination is,
you tell it to the wrong people.
You gotta keep dream, and then turn those dreams.
into a reality. Your hardships, your challenges, your situation will either be the
reason you don't make it or it will be the story you tell when you do make it and
you get to make that choice. Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, doing with
everything that you have, develop the habit of giving more than what you're paid for,
develop the habit of setting standards that others will be measured by someone said, do not
go where the path may lead, but go where there's no path and leave a trail.
We wake up as often the time.
It's time to do with beast.
And for most of us, we have thought that that means go full tilled at all times.
But like a lion that's chasing down his last meal.
If you just give chase to everything, you will wear out the energy reserve and find yourself
frustrating.
You must be a beast, but that beast must also transform to the right beach that the right
When you're waking up every morning by yourself and you're fucking getting after it by yourself and it's the hidden work
They don't see his motherfuck man what they deal with every
You can day all those mornings that you want to get up and look at it as like a rock and you find this the rock and that rock is you
And every day you fight not wanting to get up and you do anyway
You chip another piece off that
And every day you can eat your right foods and every day you go to train you train hard and harder and hard and harder and you get up early and all these things you do to do
start forming yourself you're chipping another fucking piece of that rock up before you know it
give this beautiful f f f fcqueen piece of artwork that you built i'm wasting the pain stop going
through breakups and not learning the lesson i'm tired of making dumb decisions you've got to stop
wasting your pain and you got to learn from what you have been through if you want to last you
must sometimes be the faucs and plan out your day and think about a strategy and how am i going to
win even if I take a loss in the moment it's a lesson I can live and keep learning
and apply it toward a victory when most people have thought that I shouldn't get it up
you see there's more to you than just me these you must be calculating you must be
planned you must be diligent you must set a plan you must set a course of action
We know you got the talent and the skill set skill set to succeed.
Oftentimes a person has talent, skill set, ability to succeed.
That's great. But do you have the guts to fit?
From consistent, I give myself the opportunity to be exceptional.
I feel as if it's a lot of exceptional people that are not consistent.
And I want you to understand that the reason, most likely,
that you didn't achieve what it is that you wanted to achieve,
it's because you don't truly believe that you have it in you to achieve these things.
You see them as special.
You see the people who accomplish these things as special.
And what I need you to understand, and what I want you to understand moving into the next year,
is that all of these people that you observe living a better life than you,
in your opinion, all of these people you admire, all of these people that you look up to you,
all of them, every single one of them, is no different on the inside than you are.
Because worn down is beaten.
The things that don't go my way,
they just turn into targets that I'm going to attack harder.
This is yours.
You're the captain, you're the master, you're the foreman,
you're the general, you're the head.
Don't give control of this to nobody.
So when I don't see the point,
and I feel like my life is being,
dismantle, could it be that God's preparation comes packaged as pain?
And maybe if you could see it that way, it would it take the pain away, but it would give the pain a purpose?
If you could see what you've been calling a failure really wasn't a failure.
It was a foundation.
You cannot be focused on what was when you want to change down.
chase down what can be and when you chase down what can be you enjoyed the journey because
this is the reward not the destination because the destination if it were just given for you when you've been
faced down when you felt like you should have given up or could have given up and you get back
up and you chased down everything that was being held back for you and you believe that you can
overcome and you have a police that tried to stop you but then you get up and you go
after that a folly and once you've conquered them and you've overcome those demons those fears those
frustrations that once held you back you are the perfect version of you already you are the version
of you that other people will love all you have to do is give yourself permission to go be it and that's
going to require you to get uncomfortable that's going to require you to put yourself out there
People aren't gonna get it until they can get it.
And you have it in you.
I said, my challenge is this.
Sometimes as people, an individual can be so arrogant
and they can live their lives and feel as if
or when a challenge arises, when opposition arises,
when change arises, when uncertainty arises,
I'll just be ready for it and now rise to their case.
And I think we all know in life you don't rise to the occasion,
you revert back to your train.
Meaning the individual that you were prior to the opposition, prior to the challenge, prior to the uncertainty,
that is the individual that's going to show up in the midst of it every single time.
The quote said you, you judge the true character and caliber of a person,
not by where they stand in time to comfort and convenient.
You judge a true character and caliber of a person
by what they stand in time of challenge and controversy.
It means mode because of what it costs you.
And when it costs you something, it has a price that cannot be paid by immediately being given.
It's every day that you're up with your beast mode.
But the mode of beast must be altered based on the situation.

This is the instinct that says,
you've had enough.
You've given it your best shot.
You can stand down.
You can back off.
You can take a knee.
This is the instinct that says,
you can rest now
do not listen
because that instinct is a liar
and wants to bring you down
you see this instinct is a defense
mechanism for your ego
it gives you an out
a place to run to a place of
sympathy and amnesty
where all can be forgiven
where failures
gather together in comfort
and drown their sorrows
in lies and deception
You see, courage of the foundation.
And when you have that foundation, it is solid.
It is the walk that will not roll.
Freedom of your mind, of your body, and of your soul.
You ever want to truly be free.
You have to stand up and have courage.
Because when you have that,
that ingredient of life that makes you stand out
and become different than what the cry is,
you will become a leader in that crowd.
And with leadership comes responsibilities.
And when you set forth that plan in life to become everything that you were born to be,
you will give people the inspiration that they can do it as well.
But until they see it in you, they don't know it's possible.
It's all in your mind.
Whatever you hold in your mind will tend to occur in your life.
If you continue to believe as you have always believed, you will continue to act.
as you have always acted.
You will continue to get what you have always gotten.
If you want different results in your life or your work,
all you have to do is change your mind.
Wisdom comes from experience, and experience takes time.
The more experience you have,
the more you learn from that experience,
the wiser you can get.
A pine tree grows and matures very fast.
An oak tree grows and matures very, very slow.
Which one lasts longer and which one is stronger?
Which one shelters more critters and more birds?
Which one, when it's done and over and it's cut down,
which one is more valuable for the lumber?
We're all looking for this golden purpose.
Is it this?
That dad is it making money?
Is it my family?
Motherfucker, the purpose is you.
Every fucking day I wake up, I don't want to do some fucking shit.
I'm like, okay, man, do you want to be a bitch today?
You won't walk around all day knowing that you could, but you didn't?
You have to learn how to get up and do shit.
When you ain't got no fucking 5K, no 10K, nothing.
Nothing exists.
Your life fucking sucks.
You're in a fucking dungeon.
But guess what, motherfucker, I'm still going to get it.
First of all, don't aim at being happy because that's just not going to work,
especially when the storms come and barbarians are beating at the gate.
You can just forget about that.
And there's going to be times in your life where you're suffering so much you can't believe it.
And so you're going to need something to hell of a lot more robust than happiness to get you through that.
And then you might say, well, what's more robust than happiness?
Or maybe even what's more robust than pain?
How about adventure? How about we go out and sail the uncharted seas, you know?
Our life situation predominantly is our life situation.
is our fault.
It's our fault.
When you get knocked down and you get broken open,
that's when you really get to know your people.
Suffering is awesome.
You know, you get knocked down and split in half.
You step, you walk out in the world.
If you choose, you have a choice.
You can contract and become bitter
and never open up again, like most people.
Or you can actually use the tragedy or suffering
or whatever you've gone through
to allow it to purify you.
Tragedy and pain is life's greatest purifier.
Holding the line, maintaining the standard,
giving no slack, none. That's the discipline.
What's God? Gone is that which calls you to make the appropriate sacrifices
and calls you on it when you don't.
And try to escape.
that and see what happens. We know perfectly well, perfectly well, that that's a pathway
to hell. And you might say, I don't believe in hell, and I would say, that means you don't
know anything. Do you abide by that or not? Well, you do if you're wise and you do if you
care about the people around you. You got to be willing to do the work. You can speak about
it all day. The easiest thing in the world to do is to complain, blame, and quit and settle.
that's the easiest thing in the world to do.
But it takes real work to deconstruct and to reconstruct
the thought process in the mindset of an individual
when they're trying to change something.
That's why I always say to people,
what's more important, what we acquire or who we become, right?
What's more important?
What we acquire or who we become?
Materialistic, superficial, it's cool.
But the people that we become,
the thoughts we think, the words we speak,
That's something that's going to travel with us forever.
Are you ready to become one?
Are you willing to step up to the plate to become that person that everyone can follow into battle
and trust that you won't run?
You won't turn your back.
You won't hide when the locks get thrown.
But you will step in front of everyone else to protect them because you don't sit on the throne.
Let the process do what the process does.
The process is there for a reason.
The process is there to strengthen you and build you.
The process teaches you things along the journey that no skipping steps could have taught you.
That no faking it till you make it could have taught you.
That no overnight success could have taught you.
The journey isn't always beautiful, but the journey is always purposeful.
So start telling yourself, this is applying the process.
We are absolutely divine, magnificent expressions of life.
All of us, we each face.
is another unique expression of God.
And they're not supposed to be alike.
Since time began on this planet,
there have not been two snowflakes alike.
We've certainly not been two people alike.
And we're always trying to be like everybody else so we're acceptable.
Our uniqueness is what makes us wonderful.
What you most want to be found will be found where you least want to look, essentially.
And it's so interesting because it means that if you're willing to turn around and to stand up straight and face the darkness like fully
What you discover at the darkest part is the brightest light
And then not something that's so much worth discovering because there's going to be
terrible darkness in your life and it's going to make you cynical and
bitter. And it could easily be that you're just not looking at it enough. Because if you looked
at it enough and you didn't shy away and you brought everything you had to bear on it, you'd find
that there was more to you than there was to the horror. I don't know what your future is,
but if you're willing to take the heart away, the more complicated one, the one with more
failures at first than successes, the one that has ultimately proven to have more meaning,
more victory, more glory, then you will not regret it. Whatever you choose for career path,
remember the struggles along the way are only meant to shape you for your purpose.
If you've been frustrated because it just seems like you can't get a break, then welcome to the
club. All of us have been there. All of us must go through that.
But understand in those broken moments, in those broken pieces, and those fragments of your life,
there is a puzzle being put together by the hand of God through your hard work and through your experiences.
You only see part of it because the water looks murky.
But if you can just let the mud's shadow of life, you can look through and finally see them as a bigger picture.
People have problems and they're often annoyed and oppressed by the fact they have problems,
but first of all, you don't have all the problems in the world.
You have your problems and the problems that bother you.
And you might ask yourself, well, why do those problems bother you and not other problems?
And I would say, maybe it's because in those problems you actually find your destiny.
You have to lose your fear of failure.
Failure is a broader the process.
People will never fail, never try.
You have to fail.
You got to get it wrong to get it right.
You learn nothing from winning.
You only learn from your failures.
If you don't have what you want,
stop telling yourself the story
because you don't have the money, you have the time.
That's bullshit.
It's because you haven't committed yourself
where you would burn your boats.
If you want to take the fucking island,
burn your fucking boats,
and you will take the out of it
because people, when they're going to either die
succeed tend to succeed. I don't care where you come from. I don't care where you were raised.
I don't care what color you are. I don't care what gender you are. I don't care about any of that
if you do the work consistently, if you invest in yourself consistently, one plus one is always
going to equal two. Two plus two is going to equal four. In 10 years of motherfuckin' work
When everybody else is partying, making excuses, doing the cool thing on the weekend, is going to pay off.
You can do this.
Your sacrifices, the phrases and things that people placed in your head that you could not that tried to derail you,
have to come into conflict with the things that are said within you that says, I can do it.
I know I can overcome it.
You have to understand the light also goes through phases.
there are segments and sections of your life that are going to make you have to develop patience.
Man should learn to detect and watch that gleam of light which flashes across his mind from within
more than the luster of the firmament of bards and sages.
Yet he dismisses without notice his own thought because it's his own.
In every work of genius, we recognize.
our own rejected thoughts.
They come back to us with a certain alienated majesty.
We often reject our thoughts,
and we see the things that we think of as grand and as genius,
and we reject them because they're our own.
Treasuring our divinity instead of being terrified of it,
knowing that I am always connected to my source.
There is no way that I cannot, because it is in you,
and I am in you, and you are in me,
and you can never be separated from it.
There is no place that this is not that this is not way.
no place that this source is not.
It beats everybody's heart.
It opens all the flowers, and you're always connected to it.
Every time I've lost, people say, you've got to jump right back up.
I disagree with that.
After you lose, but when you get knocked down,
stay down there for a minute.
Understand why you lost.
What were the reasons?
Why are you down here?
Why did you lose?
So every time I lost, I stayed down for a second, minutes, hours, days.
But when I stood up, I was different.
I was smarter.
Now you start putting the pieces that are necessary
to win over and over and over again.
Sometimes we get stuck in these situations
where we start looking to other people
for our self-esteem, and sometimes we find ourselves
looking in broken mirrors to get a reflection of our signs.
You don't have to find ourselves.
false yourself or motivate yourself to think negatively, to be depressed, to beat yourself up over the head.
Your mind is on automatic. It will do that by itself. But if you want to begin to move into your own
personal greatness, if you want to begin to really enjoy a happy, successful, healthy life,
you've got to be willing to go against the tide. You've got to be willing to harness your will.
And say, in spite of this, I'm in control here. I'm not going to let this get me down. I'm not going to let this destroy me.
There is nothing on the outside of greatness but good.
But good is on the outside of what's capable for you.
But you can never get to good,
you can never get to great without going through the bad.
You got to bet on you.
Yeah.
You believe in everybody else,
you clap for everybody else,
you support everybody else,
you're baking cakes and making cookies
for everybody else.
Well, when are you gonna look in the mirror
and believe in the dirt person?
person you see. It's about time for you to believe in you because you've got it.
Those times when you get up early and you work hard, those times when you stay up late
and you work hard, those times when you don't feel like working, you're too tired, you don't
want to push yourself but you do it anyway. That is actually the dream. Everyone in the world
has a list of things they think they should do. I should lose weight, I should work out, I
I should spend more time with my kids.
I should work harder.
I should make more calls.
I should.
I should.
I should.
I should.
And then you know why?
People don't do their shoulds.
And they get mad at themselves.
What changes people is when your should becomes a must.
When suddenly the thing you said should happen has to happen.
If you want to take the island, burn the boats.
