Welcome, everyone, to another episode of the Adeptist Ridiculous Podcast.
My name is D.K. Diamantes. That's Bricky. And that's it. It's just us. Just the two of us.
Oh, my God. We can make it if we tried.
Wow. Great. I hope there's nothing that preceded that intro.
I hope so. It's just us. It's just us.
A possibly AI generated new cover for Craig. God, I hope not.
Oh no, come on.
Don't do it, Craig.
God, I hope not.
I have a suspicion, but I'm not 100% sure.
And then Shy here as well.
I would like everyone to see,
shy, can you, and editors,
can we please post the image of me
and my new Oshy Mark?
Just want everyone to see what's been going around
the Discord as of lately.

And you too can't access to Brickie's Oshymark
You gotta put it on your profile
That's how you show your support of the Brickster
It's such a terrible photo too
Because like it's like it's perfect
It's nearly perfect
It is identical man
What an unfortunate crop, my lord.
If we were in the Simpsonsverse, it would basically be one to one, dude.
It's crazy.
That's rough.
Yeah.
That's rough.
We don't even have a whole lot of like super crazy news today, too.
The big one is that they're showing off like a space marine codex.
And it, uh, you know, you know what?
You know what?
I bought the orc codex because I want to see how the codexes are nowadays with, you know, the changes and all that jazz, right?
Mm-hmm.
And I'll be picking it up today, so unfortunately I don't have any interesting news for today regarding it.
But I'll give them a little bit of credit.
The Space Marine Codex cover looks pretty good.
Oh, what does it look like?
I think the artwork for that looks pretty good.
Let me show you here.
Although the context always have a good art, right?
Like, they've never, ooh, oh, that, oh, that is nice.
The far left is the collector's edition.
It comes with like a little relic shield with a logo of a chapter on it and all that.
I'm sure it'll immediately be sold out and then sent on to eBay for $600 because we are in a scalping epidemic.
however, all that aside,
the art on the front is pretty good.
I'll give them that.
I don't think anything is quite hit 9th edition Codex covers yet,
because they're kind of doing the single character on the front type thing this time around,
but I don't mind it.
Yeah, it's pretty good.
I like it.
And yeah, man, even before everybody was like, oh, yeah, everybody's scalping.
It was impossible to get special edition releases for 40K.
Like if I wanted to get a special edition book, you had like a two second window to hit everything you needed to hit before it was gone.
I'm sure it's even worse now, though.
Now it's probably just like, yeah, people have probably sourced a damn program that does it in milliseconds or some nonsense.
I mean, apparently it's got, as they say, 232 pages, which is unsurprising, considering that it will be the largest codex probably in the entire game for the addition.
but I don't know.
I am curious.
I need to go pick up the orc one to see how it compares.
Though shy, correct me if I'm wrong.
But aren't all of these, maybe this is just the,
maybe this is just the collector's edition codex I'm referring to,
but aren't all of these hardback?
Those are like in the picture they all look hardback.
Yeah.
Didn't they say they were swapping it to paperback?
Maybe, maybe this is only referring to the collector's edition.
Ah, special edition hardback.
Yeah, you're right, you're right.
Okay.
Oh, you're right.
It says it's literally the second paragraph, Warhammer fans and not able to read type thing.
Available in regular softback and special edition hardback.
Okay.
Warhammer fans when reading, uh, reading competition, their competition is reading.
To be fair.
To play the tabletop, you do have to actually.
read the codex.
I have to look at numbers.
Yeah.
And comprehend them and the rules.
And you got to have some reading comprehension.
I have to at least look at numbers.
But okay, yeah.
232 page.
Actually, that's not too hard to do for soft cover.
Anyway, I'll pick up my soft cover orc later and we'll see how it goes.
But besides that, not much more to really talk about that happened.
They did a little space marine Q&A and revealed almost nothing, if I'm being totally
honest and uh that's it so you want to just get us rolling yeah sure hey do you like the witty band

I'm not saying you wrong.
Hell yeah, brother.
Hell yeah.
It is still shenanigans.
Granted, sure, sure.
So what's on the docket today?
What are we rocking today?
Well, the docket that we have today is something that,
that is, I'm assuming quite near to your heart, my friend.
And that would be, well, it's not a particularly mysterious quote.
So I'm going to kind of just move past the quote because it's a little bit obvious.
And I'm pretty sure you already know what we're doing today.
Well, I did detect the faint smell of barbecue in the air and what it was.
Of course, of course.
Yes, it is the burning of Prospero.
that is what we are doing today.
The titular major event,
Wolves versus Thousand Sons,
all the jokes that we have constantly made memes of.
Yeah, everybody has.
Who hasn't made a joke at the expense of the Thousand Sons
with the Burning of Prospero?
I mean, I love making jokes at the expense of the Thousand Sons.
I find it to be incredibly enjoyable.
Poor thousand sons
Well, they, they, I mean,
It's kind of a burning of their own making, you know?
Like, they kind of, they kind of did it to themselves, really.
I mean, there's a lot of what could have been the case situation here.
It's very difficult.
Well, you know what?
Maybe we'll learn.
Yeah, maybe that's what the episode is about.
Maybe we'll figure that out today.
On Adeptus, ridiculous.
Adeptus, ridiculous.
Yeah.
Cue the theme music.
Oh, I think we already did that.
But I understand.
Oh, right, yeah.
Anyway, all right.
So, let's begin.
So the Horacee was, of course, by all accounts,
the culmination of Mr. Horace's revolution
against the empire.
Oh, God, I'm fantasy-pilled.
The emperor.
Carl, Ron, save us.
Got to get away from that pancreas guy.
Yeah.
Now, there were many horrific.
markers of the treachery, but one of the most significant early markers of the heresy was not done directly by Horace.
The best way to cause a dismantling of unity is to make folks on the same side fight each other.
And Lehman Rus and Magnus the Red were brothers that did not see eye to eye properly.
No.
Not that they could anyway.
Oh, because eye to eye.
That's true.
Magnus the Red had already given an eye to, he didn't realize it.
give it a Slanesh to stop the flesh change, right?
Nope, nope, nope.
No, no, I said Slenesh again.
Why do I keep saying Slenish instead of Zinch?
I don't know, brother.
This is like the third time it's happened in like two months.
It is like the third time this has happened.
I remember, blue.
I don't know why I keep doing that.
It's Zinch.
I know it's Zinch.
It was to stop the flesh change.
He confused him.
He didn't know who he's talking to.
Listen, all I'm trying to say is that like,
Like sometimes...
It's corrupting me.
It could be.
Like an idiot.
Yeah.
Fucking zing.
Get out of here.
Truly, truly you're the victim here.
Yes.
Yes.
As a middle-aged white man, I am the victim.
Fantastic.
All right.
As a moving to middle-aged white man.
Yeah.
So, anyway, Magnus's fascination with the warp was something that had consistently alarmed Russ.
And so when the time came to put Magnus on trial,
Russ would not hesitate.
He would also be very easy to sway
when it came to a change of plans
regarding censoring his brother.
The dominoes were already set up
when Horaceide knocked them over
and Magnus's fall,
the chaos would be forced by the unknowing manipulation
of the Emperor's Executioner.
So for the first episode
in the heresy series of this month,
we are going to watch Prospero Burn
focusing mostly on the event itself
as opposed to the subplots and stuff in the two main books about it,
those books being A Thousand Sons and Prospero Burns,
while also diving to some of the forge world material
in the Horace Heresy Tabletop Game.
And as you can imagine, there's a law of things that contradict one another here,
especially when it comes to numbers, but we will get to that.
Yeah.
I was going to say, what's the name of the wolf priest,
ruin priest?
Is it weird man that ends up?
Anyway, I guess that's kind of jumping the gun anyway.
Weird man?
Is this name?
The one that tries to befriend Arryman, and then it's like, oh, yeah.
And then Arryman tells him, like, everything that they're doing.
And he goes and tells Russ, and they're like, oh, wow, you guys are awful.
Oh, God.
I'm sure we'll get to that.
Okay, cool.
Cool.
So, let's talk about Magnus's Big Day in court.
So in order to get to the full of the burning, we need to talk about the main reason.
why it happened, which is Magnus and also Magnus.
You're right.
The first instance of Magnus came in the form of the Council of Nike, and we've discussed
many times before, but the council was called due to a deep concern amongst the
Imperium and the primarks about the implementation of Cykers.
Of course, the Thousand Suns were a bit of a lightning rod for this for quite some time,
due to the really heavy-handed usage of these powers during the crusade.
And these powers that he and his legion used were becoming commonly seen by most of the starties now and not in the good way.
So, you see, the further crusade reached out from terror, the stranger the adversaries, and the stronger their powers were.
And some of these powers were pretty similar to the ones employed by the thousand sons.
and Russ very much believed that Magnus was corrupted by this cursed magic
and felt that punishment needed to be enacted when it came to him.
Mortarian agreed, citing his own biases against Magnus as one factor,
but also pointing out that some other primarks like Dorn wouldn't send any forces out with Magnus.
They don't like him.
They don't like the stuff he's doing.
Yep, yep, they do not.
Now, the issue overall became a bit split between all the primarks,
and dad had to come in and settle it because it really ran the risk of kind of screwing up the whole rest of the crusade.
Now, on the surface, the council of Nike has a trial about the uses of psychers.
In actuality, it's a trial against Magnus.
The Thousand Suns were the last ones to show up, and instead of being able to sit with everyone else,
Armin and Magnus were taken down to the floor of the council and sworn in.
Now, we won't go over all of the testimony at the moment, but we'll cycle back to a specific testimony.
later. But the long and short of it was that the testimonies were damning against not only the usage of
Cyprus, but also Magnus himself. He would have his turn to speak and he would try very hard to
defend himself. He would point to the astrophaths and discuss how Sychers were of great importance
to the Imperium. And of course, without them, the crusade wouldn't have been successful.
And he would say that being afraid of the unknown was a mark of being uneducated and needlessly
superstitious. In addition to that, the claims
against the thousand sons were goofy.
Him and his sons were at the front of the crusade.
They stood in the light of the emperor like everyone else.
He wanted to help the imperial learn, as this was a great opportunity for them all.
And he feared that if this council went as the others wished it would,
that it would be viewed in the future as a damning event in human history.
And he would say quite plainly, if I am guilty of anything,
it is the simple pursuit of knowledge.
Yeah
Yeah
And it really comes across
Like because for the longest time
I was like
Oh council of Nike
That's just a
They were just having a cute little council
No it's absolutely a trial
Against the Thousand Sums
100%.
Did anyone really consider it a cute little trial though?
No
I guess not
It was definitely not a cute little trial
It was a very big deal
And it was very much
Us Against them
And yeah
It was
Yes
Yeah, so this testimony, of course, meant nothing,
and the edict of Nike would result in psychers not being employed outside of astrapass and navigators,
and the dismantling of the librarians.
As for the whole Magnus bit, Big E didn't really point at Madius and scream witch like everyone expected him to.
Of course, years ago, he had been the one to reveal the secrets of the warp to Magnus in the first place.
So, instead, he issued one direct warning to Magnus, which is.
this.
If you treat with the warp, Magnus, I shall visit destruction upon you, and your Legion's
name will be struck from the Imperial records for all time.
Always sunny title card, editor, please, Magnus treats with the warp.
Yeah, he sure does.
Jesus.
So Magnus would go home to Prospero, defeated.
It is funny, shy.
Like, we will not use the Warper Wizards ever except Navigators and Astropass,
but, like, I do kind of get that at least.
Like, there's a necessity to it.
Yeah, well, it wasn't it like anyone that sided with Magnus pretty much brought that up?
We're like, guys, we use this shit every day.
What do you mean we're banning Cykers?
Hello?
Are you stupid?
Like, look, we used the warp to get here.
Hello?
I, you know, I will admit, though, that, like, even though that might seem initially hypocritical,
I'm kind of with him on that.
Where,
where, I mean, don't get me wrong,
there's a lot of things the Imperium did wrong with their superstition
and not talking about the warp and God knows the rest.
But like, yeah, there is a world where, like, yeah,
some psychers are sanctioned because they're dangerous if they're not sanctioned
and others are not.
Granted, librarians, I think, is a fine choice for a psycher.
I mean, if you're going to have a wizard,
you should make it like a super soldier space marine and not Jimmy on
planet dick fuck that
explodes in the tentacles.
And maybe don't take
those alpha level ones and parade them out
in the parade line too, because who knows
what will happen? Oh, Eisenhorn
books.
Jesus Christ of all the...
Anyway, go watch the Eisenhorn episodes
everyone. So, Madis
would go home to feed him, and he would not
hear the Emperor's warnings, and dabble with
the warp in secret would reveal to him a horrible
vision. The well-loved
and newly minted war master
Warhammer Horace. Warmaster Warhammer Horace. Nailed it.
He would lead a big old revolt and a bunch of bloodshed involving the Astardis.
And since he was genuinely freaked out about this, he would attempt to make his way into the
mind of his brother to see the validity of this. But his actions would be stalled and the stalling
would convince him that Horace was truly gone, which meant he needed to tell dad.
But telling dad was hard because there was a warp storm, which was difficult.
And he had concerns about Horace's corruption, so he needed to tell dad another way.
And so Magnus even thought that this rapid action of him going through and warning the emperor this way would result in his dad being like, hey, you were so right, son.
This whole psycher thing is cool after all.
And I'm so proud of you for proving me wrong.
Let's play baseball.
Oh, Magnus.
Oh, brother.
Oh, geez.
Yeah, I mean, obviously, like, you know, there was that idea.
of like, I got to tell dad, I got to tell dad quick, and I can only tell dad, or I should tell
dad this way to prove that this is actually important.
So he would travel in an astral form through the warp, find a weird-ass webway project, that's
strange, no idea what that is, could go down this corridor, can't transcend it any further
though, and a mysterious voice in the warp would offer him a bit of help.
And blinded by the fact that this was of the essence, Magnus would accept the aid from
the voice and he would successfully astrally project himself into the basement keep under the
golden throne, which would then end up creating a breach, pouring demons into real space,
killing thousands of people, and putting a permanent scar in reality under the Imperial Palace
forever and ever shattering that Webway project.
Yeah, it's not great.
Also, to even cast himself, didn't he have to kill like hundreds of, like, hundreds of, like,
like,
prospero psychers too,
as like a,
like sort of a,
that he needed their power
to even do it.
You know,
D.K.
That's something I don't know.
Maybe that,
maybe you're right.
I don't remember that part.
This is something that maybe you,
that you remember that I don't remember.
Granted,
uh,
killing psychers for energy is a pretty,
it's a pretty normal thing in 40K.
It probably did happen.
We love sacrificing psychers for our own.
That's why we call,
we call that phrase plausible.
Yeah, very, very plausible.
We'll just say he did because, you know, he'd probably it.
Now, now, D.K.
Believe it or not, the emperor's big red sun bursting through the wall like a Kool-Aid man did not get a round of applause.
I don't believe it.
You do.
I don't believe it.
How could that happen in 40K?
Now, there's a few sources as to what the emperor thought about this that range from immense his appointment to unbridled rage.
We knew that big.
He had planned to gift Magnus a shiny golden throne to sit on,
but now his trust had completely eroded.
Also, he was talking a whole lot of nonsense about his favorite son,
so there was only one thing he could do.
And that would call upon his executioner to do his namesake.
Do what you do, executioner.
Yeah.
Now, Magnus knew full stop that he made a,
a bit of a
Can you read this for me, D.K?
Sure.
He made a bit of a fucky-wucky.
Very good.
With all of this.
And he knew,
it's when you accidentally knock over.
No, then you're playing baseball in the house.
You know you're not supposed to play baseball in the house.
And you hit the important mug.
Oh, the number one's that mug.
You know it's coming.
Oh, yeah.
coming, gonna unstrap the Pouty Teng belt and give you an ass whoopin.
You have that sandlot moment where you accidentally use the signed Babe Ruth ball and it knocks
over the fence and there's that big dog and you got to go talk to James Earl Jones about it.
Yep.
Yep.
Yep.
Was it James Earl Jones?
I do believe it was.
Wow.
Okay.
I did not realize that.
So, obviously, with that punishment.
It's not specifically clear whether the following actions were an acceptance of his punishment or a personal means to nerve himself so that he wouldn't be tempted to retaliate against the incoming forces, but Magnus would recall the vast majority of the thousand sons before sending a large portion of them on ships as far away as possible and proceeding to put a psychic barrier around the planet.
This would block communication to infirm the planet, which would also prevent the precognitive abilities of the Corvadei cult to scribe the future.
and see what the hell was coming.
I always assumed you sent them far away
to, like, protect them.
Yeah.
It's, yeah, that's, it sucks.
It sucks.
It sucks.
I was about to say something,
but I think that might be jumping the gun a little bit,
so I'm going to zip.
Well, I got a quote for you.
Here you go.
Whoa, that is a quote.
By the word and the will of the master of mankind,
imperator, imperator, imperio, imporat.
God, that word is driving me crazy.
Imperator Imperatoris, Terra Reginum, it is hereby decreed that Magnus, Primark of the 15th Legion's Astardis, be brought forth in censure and bound by law to stand before the throne imperial of Terra, there to answer for his actions and those of his jean sons.
To this end is Lehman Rus, Primark of the Sixth Legion Astardis, so charged upon the deliverance of his brother,
By any and all means he may find needful, without limited law, sanction, or imposition of a tanger unto the limitless void and the last day.
So it is written, so it shall be.
I do enjoy the, wait, hold on, is that a V1 in there?
For a second, I was like, that is the right number, right?
Surely, yep, yep, yep, oh yeah, that's six, yep, five, one, six, yep.
I will admit, Lord and the Will of the Master of Mankind, Imperator Imperatoris Terraregnum is a mouthful.
That is a tongue twister. That is a 40K tongue twister for sure.
Now, timing here was everything, because not long after these acts were completed, Lehman and his forces, they were dubbed the censure hosts, which included a Terran contingent with custodies and sisters of silence, because, you know, cygars.
Yep.
They would begin to trickle in at the mustering point of Beta Garmin and make ready to warp directly to Prospero.
And as far as forces are concerned, this was a pretty big one.
Something like around 73,000 space wolves, just under 1,000 custodies, about 3,000 sisters of silence,
and around a little under 45,000 guard soldiers, bunch of vehicles, and so on.
The custodies and sisters were there to ensure that the written,
was properly enact him at the behest of the emperor,
and they weren't there to serve as an active ground force
because the optics of sending a bunch of custodies and stuff
to go to war with a primark is a really bad look.
Yeah, just a little bit, yeah.
Now, unfortunately, Horace would also catch wind
about Russ's forces arriving at Beta Garmin,
and he would take the opportunity to have a bit of a chat with him
about this whole plan.
Now, Horace, at this point, obviously a traitor,
saw the whole Magnus thing to be a bit of a problem
to his long-term plans.
And by now, Horace had already started moving pawns left and right to establish a pretty straightforward rush to Terra.
But Magnus was a bit of a problem.
Sure, he inadvertently helped the traders by attempting to FaceTime Dad and such.
That was great.
But now the concept of the heresy was a bit out in the open, even though the loyalists refused to believe so.
And Horace wanted to get back the element of surprise.
And Russ's pending assault was a surefire way to let it happen.
So Horace would send a message to Russ
Through a group of sons of Horace led by overseer Boris Kern
And would essentially be like
Hey
I know Dad wanted you to get our brother
And put him in the Imperial Para Wiggler for a bit
But let's be real here
If Magnus can break stuff on Terra without trying
Capturing him is a huge waste of time
Like we got to just kill him
We gotta just kill the guy
Yep
And when you get a command like that from the goddamn war master, I mean...
Mr. Electric, take Magnus's other eye and have him expelled.
Get him kill, kill him, remove him from this mortal coil and remove him in the cycle of samsara.
And considering...
You don't know, because...
That's fucked up.
Yeah, well...
We're going to take his back anyway.
So like, whatever.
That's true.
Yeah, yeah.
Mr. Electric break his back and send him to the warp.
That's the way to do it.
Now, this didn't really take too much effort for Russ to go like,
all right, bet because he already had a big grudge against Magnus and Horace is the war master.
And as a sign of like, we're in this together, my guy,
Horace would send about 4,000 of his own sons of Horace to help him and 12 lead.
geomortus titans.
God.
That's so much.
Well, you know, you know,
hey, he only sent 4,000
sense of horrors. There were like 75,000
space wolves.
True.
The Titans?
The Titans help. Yeah, the Titans help a lot.
Yeah, that's true.
That's kind of over killing.
Now, this is all fine and good,
right? But Russ wasn't
the only person in charge here. The presence
of the custodies, meant that the Captain
General Constantine Valdor was also
there, as well,
And as we all know, he's very much a serve at the will of the emperor kind of guy, you know, beloved by all.
And the Terran side of things would be a bit late to the party and would show up a month after all the other forces had arrived at Bated Garmin.
And of course, a month after Horace got into Russ's ear about killing Magnus, instead of capturing him.
Written record of what transpired between Valdo and Russ is a bit scattershot and contradictory.
But the crux is that Valdoer was not super thrilled to show up and see a bunch of bloodthirsty spacewolves with a dramatic change in tactics.
Many higher upstetric members of the censure host were dismissed after meetings between them.
But ultimately, Valdoer had to accept that the writ of censure stated that Russ was the emperor's proxy.
So even if he didn't agree, he would have to accept and follow the orders that Russ wanted.
because at the moment, as the writ of censure, he is the emperor's proxy,
and Valdoor is the by the will of the emperor guy.
Yeah, you're a custodian.
You listen to the word of the emperor,
and he is speaking, more or less, with the voice of the emperor.
You have to.
So, now we have the arrival of the wolves.
Instead of doing a direct rush to Prospero,
the fleet would kind of bounce around jump-wise
to avoid any of the major stations the Thousand Suns had.
that would potentially pick up a warp translation.
They wouldn't read too much into it and would take advantage this operation,
seeming a lot more simple than expected before arriving in orbit.
And when they got there, the high orbit defenses would be non-existent,
and the only ships they would see that were a few small ones actively leaving.
Russ would give his brother one final chance to at least explain himself
before ushering in a complete and total destruction.
The Vox Imperiosa, which is the...
sanctioned voice of the Emperor's
Council of Terra and the Silent Sisterhood
would broadcast a
proclamation from the custodies flagship
the Oriflame
that's an interesting one.
They would call upon Magnus to answer for his
crimes he was accused of
and to surrender willingly or else face
the wrath of the emperor. There would
be no response.
Yep.
And the longer the silence,
the more angry Russ got.
Valdor asked Russ to give Magnus more
time and Russ would begrudgingly agree.
Now, we're not going to talk much about Caspar Hauser in this episode because his story,
well, sorry, we're not going to talk too much about Caspera Hauser in this episode because
honestly, his story is the most interesting bit in Prospero Burns.
But he was an academic who the Space Wolves and Russ believed was a hidden one of the
thousand sons.
Russ would speak to Hauser, believing that Magnus was listening in.
And he would stress that he had nothing to hide from Magnus.
and that he didn't want to talk to him in the moment as his enemy, but as a brother.
So he would say that that's what's about to happen.
Should be happening in the first place and it tears his heart apart.
But that Magnus swore that he would abide by the ruling.
He would give him one final grace since he was his brother, settled his affairs,
evacuated the civilians, deactivate the funny, shimmering defense drone.
Hauser would say that he could not feel any answer,
nor could he ever really feel anything like that.
Because spoiler alert, he wasn't actually a hidden one and was just kind of made to
to kind of present like won by chaos.
Boy, that's unfortunate.
So, yeah.
So after an hour of silence,
the Space Wolf Primark was done with the waiting game,
and...
Lehman Rus called an end to the efforts of diplomacy.
Incensed that Magnus would offer such an insult to his own brother.
Russ gave the word and unleashed the firepower
of the assembled censure host fleet
against the helpless planet below.
Prospero burned.
And then Shittingly
Possum's next one is called DoorDash
the bad ending.
I didn't order this.
Take it back.
As if DoorDash has a good ending,
even in our world.
True.
The fees, the fees.
What do you mean you deliver to the house
across the street?
I know what?
I got to, I got to
to be honest. This is a whole side note.
I've been I've been buying a bunch of local produce lately because of the whole
insidification of everything.
Yeah.
You know what?
With the price of groceries the way it is, the local stuff is barely more expensive and
infinitely cheaper than eating out.
And let me tell you, D.K., the last three times I've eaten out, I have shit my ass like crazy.
that these FDA cuts is fucking me, dude.
I was so stupid not to get back to the local farmer's market,
hippie-dippy bullshit,
because let me tell you,
I ain't shitting out my ass with the heirloom tomatoes I'm buying
from the random dude down the street.
Wow, thanks for the update, brother.
I just, I don't know what I would have done
if I hadn't known that you were just shitting out your ass
for the last.
Oh, man, great.
This whole morning I've been gripping my ankles, all right, because I made the conscious idea to have Shake Shack last night.
And that was a bad call.
The internal time bomb has exploded on you.
Shake Shack, really, eh?
I don't think I've ever had Shake Shack.
And much like my asshole, Prospero burned.
And as mentioned.
All of that shot.
I just fucking Jesus.
So defenses of Prosperos were exceptionally thin.
The only place with any concept of defense was Tizka, the city of light.
And there were quite a few folks there, depending on the source you're looking at.
Some say there were only about 10K,000 sons there.
Some say there were 62K,000 sons.
The Prospero's spire guard had close to 85,000 troopers.
The Mechanicum forces from Zhao Arcad were 9K in warriors and the militias of remaining civilians numbered in the millions.
And if you remember the shimmering dome we talked about, that was a result of the cult of the Raptora,
which were able to conduct kind shields, kinetic shields as barriers.
They can do so individually to break themselves, but with their powers combined in the Raptori Pyramid,
they were a very strong cover over Tizca.
and prior to the arrival of the wolves,
Magnus wasn't really able to do anything about this
because, you know, if Dad shows up and tells you to turn off the shield,
they'd probably ask a lot of questions if you said no.
No. Yeah, yeah.
And Magnus was kind of having a pity party at the time anyway.
He was kind of busy.
So despite the numbers of forces,
none of them were prepared for this fleet showing up in any capacity
because they were essentially trapped in the psychic bubble of Magnus's making.
The forces shocked by a surprise arrival,
would try in desperation to reactivate their Vox systems and such,
but couldn't because everything planet's side was jammed by Magnus.
This ensured total silence to the demands of the Central Fleet,
so all the forces on the planet could do was watch in terrified silence
as the Imperial Fleet would annihilate literally everything outside of Tisca.
Yeah.
Not that there was much outside of the city,
as Prospera was notably a rough world outside the major cities.
But still,
absolute destruction of the planet outside of the production of the shield would be assured.
The systematic destruction of all of the stations and facilities outside the planet would be fairly easy due to the lack of a defense grim.
But that shimmering shield around Tisga would be impossible to shell.
This, of course, didn't mean they didn't, you know, try.
In fact, they bombarded it a lot, hoping that the...
the raptora cult would not be able to handle it,
but they did a pretty good job.
But the constant bombing did result in a lot of them dying in the process.
So the nature of the shield offered the thousand sons of commander,
the commander has a chance to go to Magnus and be like,
hey man, just a quick question.
What the hell is this?
What's going on?
What the fuck, man?
Why didn't you tell us about this?
Yeah.
Can you please explain yourself?
What is happening?
Mm-hmm.
So, next is defying his father like his father before him.
Magnus was in short, very cut and dry about the whole thing.
He basically said, hey, everybody, Gigi's.
And he requested the members of a thousand sons would just accept their inevitable death with honor.
Astec Aramon would put two and two together and surmise that if the crime Magnus committed was truly bad enough for the Imperium to essentially come down and destroy Prospero outright.
that it really didn't matter what they did.
If they accepted their fate, they would all die.
If they didn't accept their fate, they would all die.
Yeah, pretty much.
I mean, you've got two options, and they both lead to the same fucking place.
So, Phosus Dakar would attempt to push back and say that if Russ wanted a fight, they should give him one.
And Magnus said, no, the devastation needed to run his course.
And I got a quote for you, D.K.
All right.
Arriman's anger.
cut through his state of detachment in the spheres and his fists clenched.
All this time you knew there would be a reckoning, he said.
We are the Red Sorcerer Prospero, damned in the eyes of our fellows,
and this is to be how our story ends, in betrayal and bloodshed.
It is the only way, Azic said Magnus.
I am sorry.
No, said Aramon, it is not the only way.
You may find it nobler to suffer your fate, but I will take
arms against it.
Ooh.
You know, Armin, Armin tends to fluctuate between being a bitch-ass motherfucker and also, like, kind of a G,
depending on lots of factors.
I feel like before the whole rubric of Ariman thing, he's really, really cool.
And then that happens, and it's like, ooh, yuck.
I mean, that deserves its whole episode.
Rupertimore. Oh, yeah, for sure. But the inability to shatter the shield meant that the only way for
the Imperium to take it would be with a grounded assault. So Russ would order the Terran forces to remain in
orbit while him and his wolves would hit the surface. Now, Valdoor thought that was a bad idea
and insisted that the custodies and the silent sisterhood go down alongside Russ. But Russ knew that
Magnus could see the future, and he wanted to keep plenty of surprises up for his brother and didn't
want to reveal the true extent of the forces brought to the world quite yet.
Russ would make planet fall on the eastern part of Diska, and the sheer volume of drop pods
was so impressively massive that people thought that the city looked like a dust storm.
Wow.
It's a lot.
It's a lot.
But as the space marines began to advance, it was clear to onlookers that they were looking
at their reckoning.
One thing that didn't help this was a bit of process.
sparrow arrogance construction-wise.
The thousand sons were a confident group,
especially when it came to shielding of Tisca,
so confident in fact that they never installed
any meaningful anti-air weapons to defend it.
Ooh.
So no airguns,
but the storm birds could land without much trouble whatsoever,
ensuring even more reinforcements.
Yay.
So Russ would, of course,
be the first guy to make it to the border of Tisca
and would ensure that the coastline will be pummeled
into oblivion, including, of course, plenty of symbolic destructions like statues and vanity
projects from Magnus.
Now, the Spire Guard would set up some defenses, but the lack of support from Magnus made it
fairly difficult to rally against the wolves, especially after they broke off into hunting
parties and cut through the streets pretty violently.
The space wolves would not make any efforts to distinguish innocent civilians from militia members
either. So everyone on the surface might as well just be, you know, be an enemy.
Yeah, that does sound very space was coated. Though I do agree, shy, the Prospero Spire Garden,
solar auxilia. Those are basically like the Imperial Guard of them. They look pretty sick.
Oh, yeah, they are dripped out to the gills. I love that. Yeah, big fan of those dudes.
But the Spireguard offenses were overran pretty quickly because of the space wolves and all that.
And in less than an hour, the coastal region of Old Tisko would be taken.
But the advancement would take some time as the space wolves were ensuring that there were no survivors as they moved further inland.
While this was going on, the Titans of the Ligio Moros would be deployed and would go after the Mechanicumonclaves on the world and do a number on the industrial capacities of the already dying planet.
Around here is one the thousand sons would show themselves.
With very little time to prepare,
R-M-in would set up a defensive network to the best of his ability,
and their hope was to reinforce the spire guard as best as they could.
But too little and too late, the wolves...
You're up against such a big force that you could have planned a defense for years,
and still it wouldn't have been enough.
The wolves had managed to break their lines,
and now they were close enough to the war,
wolves that the pre-cognitive threads could be easily seen by the sorcerers.
Tides were about to shift, and with their lives on the line, the Thousand Suns were able to use
the raw might of their psychic abilities without fear of recourse.
Now, the counterattack from the Thousand Suns would hit like a truck now due to their
unmitigated psychic powers.
The first front-line waves of wolves that were cut down through the Spiregar were cut down with ease.
this east was complimented thanks to the fact that the Corvide were now very freely able to intercept any and all battle plans from the space wolves.
They learned the strategies and also quickly learned of an issue on the end of the space wolves,
being that they were spreading themselves pretty thin.
As it stood defensively, Aramon held the eastern part of the city.
Fosestekar and Hathor Mott held the Western Bitt and failed Toron defended the port.
And as they establish their presence, they work to rescue and push any survivors into the only remaining safe place in the city, which is the pyramid of FOTEP.
Then the true measure of a potential counterattack would arise.
Long dormant and standing like a statue in front of the pyramid, a titan named Canis Vertex would creak to life thanks to possession, courtesy of Captain Caliphos, imbued with a pyrokinetic nightmen
merability, whatever the fuck that means, sounds like our old gun episode.
Sounds phenomenal, whatever it is.
That sounds pyrokinetic.
Yeah.
The already overwhelming force of a titan's weaponry would become more devastating
things to warp fire.
The wolf counterattacks would be almost meaningless, thanks to shells literally incinerating
before they even got close to the Titan, which is pretty handy.
Yeah, that's pretty good.
I think Fosister Carr in one of the books
stops a Titan from smushing Magnus.
So he's no joke.
I think it was him.
You know what?
I believe you.
Fossista Carr, right?
He brags a lot about being like,
I saved Magnus from dying.
What have you idiots done lately?
Have you read the Burning of Prospero books?
I didn't read Burning of Prosper.
I read Thousand Sons.
And that leads right into the actual attack
on Prospero and the burning of it.
Yeah.
Gotcha.
I haven't had a chance to this.
This is a possum script.
But before we go any further, a quick little note.
Remember how at the start we mentioned that Horace,
said a bunch of Sons of Horace in the campaign?
Well, there was a reason for this.
It suggested quite heavily that part of this was to quell any of the members of the Sons
that would be resistant when the full fall would occur.
The other part of this was also for recruitment.
The Sons of Horace had accepted their dark,
accepted their fate would
sorry the sons that had
accepted their dark fate would
find surviving citizens and sort
them out by potential psychic ability
pre-orders from Horace
those who would fit the bill would be kidnapped
for use later during the eventual heresy
and those that did not would be killed
so as him snagging a few
psychers on the way
yeah
yeah
yuck
oh wrong button
there is the next bit which is a
golden silence.
From orbit, Valador would see the shaking of the space wolf lines and the risky nature of
their spreading of their numbers and would immediately order the deployment of the Terran host.
Though this could be a learning opportunity for Russ, where he could very much highlight to him
every place he messed up, Valador would take the high road and send his forces to just reinforce
instead.
Of course, a bunch of custodies on jet bikes are really scary, especially when they start
making their way toward the orbital transfer fields in the city.
but a thousand sons would successfully kill some.
And this would make them realize that despite their scary exterior,
that the custodies could be silenced.
Silence, however, was something that Magist's sons would find genuinely terrifying.
Quote for you.
Following on the heels of the imposing warriors of the legio custodies
were the null maidens of the silent sisterhood,
whose very presence chilled the air
and sealed away the powers of sorcery that might have saved,
Scarabacult. Without their powers to rely on, the Terminators protecting the tower were soon overwhelmed by the Emperor's Praetorians and slaughtered. It was a defeat such as the segment had never suffered since their inception. With their loss, the orbital transfer fields swiftly fell into the hands of the censure host.
Yeah, the Thousand Suns were able to do some degree of a counterattack against this new issue, which reinforced something that was pretty clear by now,
that the thousand sons were outmatching the space walls quite a bit.
But this confidence was shattered by a howl.
Russ himself had arrived in the dead center of the conflict and through the thousand sons.
Those thousand sons were able to take on the children of Russ.
The primark was, I mean, it's Lehman Russ.
It's Lehman Russ.
He would just start, like, butchering people.
Yeah. Doesn't he literally do a howl that, like, kills a bunch of people or something?
Like, literal and, yeah, it's, it's bad.
It's bad.
Yeah, I mean, also, like, this is, like, not only is it Russ, but it's, it's Russ angry and ready and planned for this situation.
Yeah, that's not great.
Yeah.
And you got the sisters of silence screwing you over, too, and, oh, man.
Now, the higher-ups in the Thousand Suns quickly realized that there was no victory so long as Russ stood.
and they needed to take him down here and now
if they ever dreamed of making it out.
Aura Magma would take the first strike against the Primark
by covering himself in warp flame
and hitting him with an energy strike.
The hit would cause Russ to seemingly vanish
in a blast of pure energy
and the Thousand Suns would celebrate,
but these cheers would be cut short
when the energy that hit Russ would seemingly refract back directly
at aura magma,
causing him to burst in flames
and forcing him to run screaming from the battle.
battlefield, which would be a huge sitcom moment if it was not so terrifying.
Yeah, that's, that's not great.
That sucks.
That's not what you want to have happen.
So next up would be Takar, who would order the forces to be pulled back as he would draw as much energy from the warp as possible.
He would burst through the ranks of space walls like a heat-seeking missile going directly for Russ,
but there was one major obstacle he didn't account for, which is Constantine Valdor.
we don't talk too much about Valador
we should really do a major episode on Valador at some point
He's a badass from what I remember
He's a monster that man
Yeah
You don't get to his his position without being an absolute truck
Yeah he's uh
It's hard to really describe how much of a G Valador is
He is horrifying
And so Valador would ask him what he was.
Like, what are you?
And for a brief moment, he didn't know what he meant.
Then he would realize a terrible truth.
His actions of forcing himself forward through the lines toward Russ has forced a flesh change.
And instead of being the once proud scholar, he stood in front of Valador as proof of what the thousand sons had become.
And he understood in that moment why his father refused to help his sons.
Valador would yell monster
And Dakar would say sadly
I know before dropping his weapons
Closing his eyes
And welcoming Valador's golden blade
Oh man
That's tough
God
Also God what a mini
Holy shit that's that's Valador's mini
Yeah Valador's old 30K mini
He looks like that
He's kind of yeah
He's kind of a baller I know
Yeah kind of
Fulf.
Now, the flesh change would spread pretty hard
through the ranks of the thousand suns
during the increasing violence on the planet.
The warp taint was potent as hell
because of all the sorcery,
and it wasn't just the thousand sons that were impacted.
The warp would also cause some space wolves
to fall to the curse of the wolfen,
resulting in, you know, terrifying abominations as well.
Yeah.
Though these notable deaths would help the space wolves
rally quite a bit and would give them an advantage
going forward. Aramon was not having a great time with all of this and tried desperately to get Magnus
to show up and help, but Magnus would refuse, saying that he could not and will not.
The lines would begin to properly buckle despite the haste efforts and a catastrophic blow
toward the Thousand Suns would force an almost complete retreat. As mentioning before,
the port of Tisca was held by Feltoron and his seventh fellowship.
They were faring pretty well, all things considered,
and their psychic abilities helped when it came to taking out your run-of-the-mill space wolf with some good headshots.
However, the arrival of the contemptor dreadnots made this more tricky.
Toron would come face to face with one,
and before he could kill it, he would stop it.
How?
He would essentially overdose on a warp power and would somehow override the systems of the dreadnought,
but completely lost in the sauce.
Toron would find himself levitating over the battlefield,
laughing madly and halting dreadnoughts left and right.
Any shots against him would ricochet,
and it felt like he was in total control until he wasn't.
In fact, he was actually really, like really, really, really out of control.
Here you are, sir.
Oh, agonizing pain tore through him.
The failed torrent screamed as his limbs ruptured with the force of the energies pouring into him.
His body could not contain such titanic forces, and no mental discipline could prevent what was happening to his flesh from taking place.
Failed Tauron threw back his head and gave one last scream of horrified understanding before his body exploded with the violence of a newborn star.
Whoa.
Yeah, you know, he was doing it pretty good, and then he blew up.
And then he's supernovas into just chunks of meat.
Jesus.
Yeah, it's a...
You know, I mean, there's a limit to what you can do.
Yeah, there sure is.
I mean, he was keeping back dreadnots, though, to be fair.
And, you know, that's pretty cool until your body explodes.
Yep.
Literally, literally that gift of the cat blowing up.
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, literally.
Over a kilometer to the east, the Canis vertex was still marching along, causing havoc,
when callophis would feel a sudden surge of energy.
The explosion of Philtorum was such a catastrophic event at such a far distance
that it would rip the Titan shielding to the point where it was essentially just molten metal.
The volume of the energy was so strong that it would cause Colophis to suffer the same fate as Phelotauram,
and the pyramid he was projecting from would be rendered to nothing more than a searing fireball of glass and steel.
To say that this chain of events virtually destroyed the defensive standing of the Thousand Suns would be,
a horrible understatement.
Aramon would order
everyone to fall back to the area around
Pyramid of Photep called the Occulam
and he was able to assess the losses but not for too long.
He figured that there was
one last thing he could do and to
understand why he decided on his final
plan we have to go way back.
So
long ago during a campaign
in the arc reach cluster
Aramon was saved from
warp entities by a room
priest by the name of
Othier word make.
Or a word maker.
The two would become fast friends
complimenting one of each other's styles and eventually
learning from one another. However, this
would shift dramatically near the end of the campaign.
Is it word make?
I think it's weird make? I think it's
Weird make. I'm going to call him
Weird make. Weird make would witness
a member of the thousand sons succumbed to
the flesh change. And despite learning
and confidence from his friend, Aramon,
weird make would use his experience witnessing
the flesh change and all the stuff told to him by his friends as damning evidence on the danger posed
by the thousand sons, accusing them of being sorcerers. He would be the first person to speak at
Nike and his words spelled doom for the thousand sons. Weird make would make it his personal
mission to seek and destroy Aramon directly. Aramon knew this and would release an astral
projection of himself in order to seek out wordmake. If he could show him the truth of what was happening,
Maybe this could save them.
He would find Weird Make and smile before wrenching his soul from his body, forcing the two of them to fight spiritually.
He would attempt to force all that he had seen into the mind of the wolf, and in the process of, in the process, he would also see things from before the battle.
He would see how Russ was swayed into changing his mind towards destruction, and he would see proof positive of Horace's betrayal.
Both forces tore at one another for the wrong reasons and at the center was Russ.
He was a blazing column of light, and Aramon knew now that nothing could stop a god that had gone feral.
There was no point of reasoning, and any certainty he had was now gone.
He would toss the spirit of word-made to the void to be torn apart by predators and would watch unsatisfied.
though he had gotten his revenge, Prospero was lost.
At this moment, Aramon accepted that his fate and the fate of the others was all but sealed.
He would order a full-on tactical retreat inside the pyramid of Fotep,
which served as truly the only safe place left on the planet.
Barely any thousand suns remained, and the pyramid of Fotep was going to be their grave.
The wolfen would then breach the pyramid and begin to call the survival.
as well. The ominous howl of Russ grew closer. But this death would in fact be delayed.
And that is from this quote.
Arammon looked up in shock to see a flaming giant descending from the highest reaches of the
pyramid of Fotep. The crux on Sata rippled with a lucid green fire and kaleidoscopic
bolts of lightning slammed into the ground.
emulating dozens of the cursed wolfen with every blazing strike.
Magnus the Red with a glorious sight, his golden armor and wild red hair ablazed with a
theric energy.
Magnus swept his eye across the horrified space wolves and all who met his gaze
died in an instant as they were driven to madness by the Stygian depths of infinite chaos
they saw there.
Yeah, so Magnus is like strong by the way.
Yeah, he looked at them and they were just like, oh shit, cook.
And they did, Jesus.
Kind of like a, almost like a third eye type thing.
Not quite like that has that same vibe.
You're right, he wishes.
He wishes there was the third one.
Yeah, yeah, unfortunate, Magnus.
Rest in, rest in peace.
Okay.
Let's see.
The primark of the Thousand Sons would eradicate the wolf and with an explosive gaze from his eye.
His descent from the pyramid caused the sky to split, resulting in the warp pouring in from the open wound.
Those who gazed at the crack in the sky would go mad.
Of course, though, who's going to ignore the crack in the sky?
So hundreds of wolves would immediately be driven insane and would force an immediate retreat.
Lehman Rust, though, not so impressed.
He stood silently with his two words.
wolves. It's assumed as Frecky and Gary, but he couldn't verify it on his,
possum's end, the names. Yeah. But Magnus would approach Russ and in the process, slow down time so
he could send one final order to Aramimim. Retreat into the pyramid, retrieve the book of Magnus,
and get the hell out of there. Magnus only saw part of the future, and that part was the survival
of Aramim. He did not see his own future, so he believed this was.
his final stand.
Using his mastery of the arcane,
Magnus would manifest a cage
of lightning around him and Russ so that they could
fight unbothered. Magnus
struck first with an energy blast,
but Russ would not be phased.
He would swing back at Magnus so
harm that his chest armor would
splinter, and the two would exchange
catastrophic blows knocking armor
off left and right, but they would
still muster enough energy to keep fighting.
The remnants of the
custodians and the wolves would try to make their
past this duel so they could continue their advance
to the pyramid. They would
attempt to cross a moat to do so, but
Magnus would witness this.
With a simple flick of his hand, the moat
would turn to acid, killing
or maiming anyone inside
of it. And every time
Magnus would act, the warp storm
above would grow more violent.
Though he was able
to blast Russ with raw energy,
Magnus was beginning to weaken.
He would attempt to heal himself with his
magic, but this temporary vulnerability
would open him up to a terrible blow from Russ
who would grab him, lift him high into the air,
and snap his back over his knee.
Oh, man.
I was wondering which would break first, your spirit or your body.
The snapping of Magnus's back was so violent
that it physically knocked the thousand sons to their knees
with pain in their heart.
The back breaker as much,
much of a meme as it was is truly the wrestling backbreaker.
Truly it is.
Yeah, it is a wrestling backbreaker right over the knee.
Yep.
Also, I don't think it's stated here, but in case the audience is wondering,
I believe Russ is able to shrug off this stuff so often because his armor is inlaid
with the wolf runes that help dampen psychic powers and stuff.
Imagine being like a rune priest of the space.
I'm like,
Mm, tisk, tisk, tisk, shouldn't be using the warp.
Mm-mm, mm-mm, mm-mm.
That's not what we do.
Tis, tis, tis.
I am wagging my finger at you.
Well, I mean, hey, you know,
we've got to make sure that Russ can survive,
so we're going to inscribe all of these, like,
things of protection around.
That didn't use the warp at all, right?
We didn't do any psych or shit to it.
Those are our runes.
Mm-hmm.
Now, Russ would triumphantly stand ready as blade,
and Magnus would lie on the ground, but he was not fully gone.
He would use a bit of remaining energy to look at Aramon and mind-linked with him
as he had one last gift for his sons.
Before the final strike of the blade would connect,
Magnus would whisper a guttural, unnatural sound before dissolving.
Aramon would suddenly feel a sense of vertigo,
as it seemed that the service of Prospero twisted into nothingness.
Armin thought this was the end, but it was not.
Him and the thousand sons would wake to find themselves on an empty world,
and they would see their father, but he was different.
He had sacrificed his flesh, his remnants had been shattered,
and now he had ascended.
He would welcome his sons to the planet of the sorcerers,
their home away from home.
The total number of thousand suns that would be teleported this planet would be 1,242.
Oddly specific numbers, Mason.
So what do they mean?
I was going to say, this is an oddly weird number for the thousand sons.
I guess the 1,242 sons doesn't roll off the tongue quite the same.
Well, the sum of that number is nine.
The holy number of zinch.
Oh, I see. I didn't. Okay. Okay.
Now, on Prospero, the events would look a bit different to Russ and his censure host.
Russ would recall the final moment shortly after and what he experienced would haunt him.
If he closed his eyes, he could still see the look of startled horror in Magnus's lone eye.
Moments before the screaming warp hurricane had ripped his broken body into fragments.
In his dreams, he heard his brother's final words before the end, just as the glass pyramid shattered.
You're a sword in the wrong hands, my brother.
You have severed an innocent neck, and it will plague you forever.
Forever.
Forever.
Forever.
You know, if we're going to do Sandlot references, that's good.
You got to do it, right?
Now, the thousand-suit.
as well as a bunch of pyramids and libraries and stuff,
that has successfully escaped during the battle,
thanks to, uh, uh,
the, sorry,
the battle,
uh, made up only a mere 10% of the ones that have fought on the surface.
Regardless of the source,
90% of the thousand sun's forces on Prospero were killed that day.
The number of spire guard soldiers were in the millions,
civilians even more so.
And there would be no prosperous survivors on the face of the planet.
Russ would make sure.
One group of thousand sons did successfully escape, though, the fifth fellowship led by sole contempt.
They defected and fled before surrendering themselves to the Imperium.
Their loyalty would be tested, and they would later be allowed to fight alongside the imperial fists during the siege of Cathonia during the heresy.
The imperial forces would suffer incredible losses, too.
Roughly 25,000 spacels would be killed, a major number of custodies, and about.
about 500 sisters of silence would fall.
And as for the planet itself,
for the final quote today,
this is what Russ did.
Uh, let's see.
Ah, there it is.
Once he reached orbit,
a second bombardment began,
ravaging the already burned world
and ensuring that even if any had escaped
the blades of the space wolves,
they would not live to celebrate that hollow victory.
Then, after seating the orbit of Prospera
with proximity mines and Vox Beacons
broadcasting the imperial decree
announcing the world below
Pareditus Maximus
forbidden ground by Imperial law
the censure host departed
leaving only the silent
burned corpse of a world in their wake
the battle for Prospero is over
but its legacy would continue to haunt the Imperium
for millennia
you do wonder
what it could have been like if Magnus
fought earlier
Yeah, if he hadn't had that sort of like, no, guys, we deserve this, we can't.
Actually, I think in the book, he literally kills one of his sons because they tried to, like, warn people that it was coming.
I forget how he found out, but he like, and then they're having, like, this counseling.
He's like, hey, Magnus, where's that one son we always talk to?
And he's like, uh, don't worry about it, guys.
And then they slowly put two and two together, like, Magnus, come on.
What are you doing?
What are you doing?
Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of weird things about it, obviously.
It's, uh, Magnus is like, because, you know, he's doing, he's doing his like, kind of is his sad boy tour.
And that, that's an important, that's an important thing for like the character and all that.
But the Magnus thing is a weird thing.
I always have a hard time with Magnus because he's written by a lot of different writers and in doing so, it creates a lot of bizarre situations.
Yep, yep.
That same problem the emperor has, where it's,
It's like it depends on what the writer needs.
Yeah.
If he's going to be a tyrant, a dad, good leader, bad leader.
Yeah.
So it's a bit of an odd one.
That being said, the Burning of Prospero is a very interesting and extremely important event.
Yeah.
It's just a tiny event in Imperium history.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And, you know, I think it is fair to say that the wolves forced Magnus into Zeech's hands.
I do not have a problem with stating that.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Because like...
Horace also sort of forced them to further do it with, you know, not that it's a whole lot of pushing.
No, not much, but...
Yeah.
No, I mean, it is...
Yeah, it's hard about that, too.
Shy, I agree.
People are not always rational.
You know, sacrifice my sons of dignity, et cetera.
But, like, also, it's hard.
I think it's hard because you're right.
Like, they're not always rational, but the primarks are always talked about as being like pillars of understanding and intelligence.
Mm-hmm.
And even though they're also definitely not, they're definitely little bitch babies all the time.
I was going to say, looking at the scope of the primarks, they are almost rarely are they rational?
They always do something out of bounds and like crazy.
I mean, just look at old Conrad Kerr's, really a pillar of rationality.
straightforward thinking.
It's one of those tough situations
where like, yeah, they're built to be these perfect
intelligent beings while simultaneously
flawed because of whatever reason it is.
Mm-hmm. But it is
a bizarre time, but
regardless, though, huge Rust W.
Yeah, it really seems
like he came out of that looking
and feeling like a star.
He had no regards.
That's what he got tattooed on his chest.
No.
Gertz Prospero.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's true.
No Pyrrhic victory here at I, either.
This is a full stop imperial dub.
I mean, they took some losses.
Don't get me wrong, but like, that was a clean victory there.
No, grinding.
No, they just, they won.
Yep.
And even after it went, he's like, there might be some survivors.
You know what?
Let's bombard the shit out of this broken corpse of a planet anyway.
Ugh.
Yeah, it's, uh,
It is something else.
Yeah.
But regardless though, I mean, as far, I mean, this is the, this is an important one because it's the creation of one of the four God-centric allegiance.
Mm-hmm.
There's a, you know, obviously you've got the Thousand Suns were beat to a pulp and then forced into Zinche's hands.
The Death Guard were tricked into Nergel's hands.
Yep.
Uh, into saving the, it took from within.
The, um, world eaters, the world eaters just kind of, just kind of got there.
Yeah.
I mean, they had no, I mean, what, what else are they going to do, right?
Yeah, I don't know what direction they're planning on going there.
And the emperor's children, same kind of situation.
They kind of, they just kind of went through it.
I mean, I will say, I think the emperor's children's one was a little bit more insidious,
but the world years one was like, yeah, they're going to.
Oh, what else are we going to do?
They're going there.
I don't know what she wanted to say.
Just a very light push, if even that.
Just a light wind blew in there.
Like, yep, that's us.
That's our call.
Bye-bye.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's where we're at.
Hell yeah.
Burning a Prospero, a very important metric.
And I'm sure at some point back in 2020, we said we are going to cover it one day.
And, you know, better late than.
Never.
Yeah.
I mean, I feel like we have adjacently covered it and talked about it.
But yeah, we never, this is our first full episode on the, on the spiel, isn't it?
It wouldn't.
It certainly would.
And now here we are.
Way back in 2020, he says, I was like, oh, it wasn't that long ago.
That was only, oh, coming up on six years ago.
Dude, dude, next next year, it'll be seven years since COVID, eight, if you count as the 2019 version.
We are...
2019 for shit.
Well, COVID-19 all about.
The lockdown was 2020.
You know, I mean.
That's true.
That's true.
Oh, man.
I can't even remember pre-COVID shit.
That seems like it was like a lifetime ago.
Mm-hmm.
Anyway.
Anyway, that's what we got.
Hell yeah.
Good times. Good stuff.
And we...
Oh, yeah, podcast since this is 2020.
Huh.
Do it.
All right.
I don't,
okay,
all right.
Me,
doing the rubic of Aramon turning into dust.
Ah?
Let's go.
Let's go.
We'll have a,
we'll have a come on Eileen section of this later on.
I've never even met Eileen.
Why have you?
Now I got to come on her?
Like, what?
That's fucking stupid, D.K.
You're fucking stupid.
I hate that.
I didn't like that.
What?
I just.
I don't like
I don't like that
I didn't like it either
I didn't you know
I haven't even met I lean
Anyway I'm I'm recording now
