who was the one with the idea to start the podcast?
This gets asked a decent amount of times,
and I feel like a lot of people think it's me.
Um, but it is not. That is all Shies, baby.
Yep. This is completely shy's brainchild. Uh, she's liked 40K for a long time.
She used to do, uh, 40K mini paintings on her old solo, uh, Twitch channel.
And, uh, yeah, this is, she just wanted to do something 40K related to sort of get out of
the warframe burn, I assume. Uh, she asked me if I wanted to do it and I was like, yeah, sure. I,
I, why not?
Yeah, that's cool.
I made that video of like every faction explained that just popped the fuck off.
And so I thought that's originally why a lot of people think I had the idea.
But no, Shai was like, hey, here's this guy who's really into Warhammer.
And she streamed with you all the time.
And basically, and you knew nothing about it.
And so it was like, hey, the gears started turning a little bit, you know?

Because, like, there are definitely episodes that are not as good as others.
There are definitely highlight episodes compared to others.

We're still, like, not as familiar with each other, yeah.
Yeah, Krieg lore has been, like, updated a bit too as well.

But, uh, I mean, yeah, like, we did a chaos demon revitalization recently when I bought the codex.
And I have, like, the new guard codex that just came out.
And I'd like to skim through that and talk a bit more.

Now that you've been doing the podcast for two years,
what have been the biggest challenges,
be that with hosting,
the production side of things,
or any other big challenges you faced along the way?
I got to tell you there are no challenges
for me. This is a dream
gig where I just show up
and be an idiot.
So, I mean,
yeah, this is, for me, this is like
a dream gig. Other than waking
up kind of sort of early, but not
really anything that inconveniences me.

I think for me it's mainly just how do I take an entire topic, condense it in an hour,
and cover the stuff people want me to cover while also not making it too long?

And it's like the thing was already an hour and change.
Like I can't do all of that.
We try to keep the episodes around an hour every time and it's just not feeling.

I will admit, I actually do enjoy sometimes the background logistical work.
Like, for example, well, I do a lot of that stuff she mentioned for like my own channel.
And I won't lie, sometimes waking up and not having to be on camera or record stuff and just sitting there.
and doing like logistics and chat and communications is can be a bit relaxing.
Not like actually relaxing, but like a bit more acceptable.

Because all that back end stuff and not having to do it with like Adrick is the whole reason that I'm just like, yeah, well, I don't need to do solo creation anymore.

how much have things changed for y'all?
The workload is increased by a certain percentage.
Are they referring to life or work?
Because those are two very different things.
We've all kind of increased our amount of work,

What surprised you most about 40K lore when you started researching for Adeptus Ridiculous?
Were there any preconceived notions you had about a faction that just got blown out of the water?
Night Lords.
Night Lords and World Leaders, yeah.
Basically any of the primarks that were chaos and I just automatically assumed they were edgy assholes.
and was shocked with how much of a good backstory they had.
I thought Angron put the nails in his own brain to make him matter
because I thought he was just Mr. Madman,
but I've realized now that that was not his choice.

I thought Curves was just edgy Batman,
and he certainly is, but not in the same way that I assumed.

Um, I'd go with probably ninth edition sisters of battle.

my favorite faction
I think when it comes to playing
it depends on the moon I'm in but sisters are just an overall favorite
night lords I think are like my middle ground favorite
where I still want to be kind of competitive
but also like I love my night lords
and then if I want to have just a really fun time
and I don't really care if I win or lose I play guard
I obviously don't have an opinion
because I don't play the tabletop.

I like all three.
The guard right now are actually really good.

The Lehman Rust Battle Tank is a little strong.
I was considering playing Thousand Suns and Tau,
but I just never really got around to it.
I really like fighting Thousand Suns as sisters
because they have innate anti-psychic,
and it's so aggravating for the Thousand-Sons player.
Yeah, that's got to be very, very annoying, since that's all you do is a thousand sun.
There's a rule in the game where, like, let's say we both have little psychers and you cast a spell.
You roll two dice, and that's how, like, you need to roll five for it to go off, basically.
I can then roll two dice, and if I beat your number, I can just, like, deny it, like, turn it off.
Deny the witch.
What a dick.
The sisters have no cykers, but they have a special rule where I can roll only one number.
dice, but if I roll a six, it auto denies it no matter what.
And there's a special ability I can take that makes a five or a six.
And so 33% of the time, I'm just turning off every spell you do, and it's infuriating.
